Michael Saah-Buckman, S.S.J. interment in Gilbert Memorial Park.

THOMPSON, LOTTIE
A homemaker and resident and native of Geismar, she died at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 25, 2000, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center-Mid City. She was 75. Visiting at Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church, La. 75, Geismar, from 5 p.m. until wake services at 8 p.m. Friday. Religious services at the church at 11 a.m. Saturday, conducted by the Rev. Irvin Briley Jr. interment in church cemetery. Survived by four daughters, Viola, Ola and Vivian Thompson and Bobby Anderson; three sons, Larry, Allen and Perry Thompson; a sister, Irma Morris; two brothers, Jimmy and Edward Miller; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by her husband; a son; parents; and a daughter, Onita Thompson, on Nov. 22, 2000. She was a deaconess with Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church. Lawson-Rollins Purple Shield Funeral Home, Gonzales, in charge of arrangements.

A custodian with Orleans Parish school system, she died at 11:38 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2000, at Meadow Crest Hospital, Gretna. She was 42, a resident of New Orleans and a native of Geismar. Visiting at Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church, La. 73, Geismar, from 5 p.m. until wake services at 8 p.m. Friday. Religious services at the church at 11 a.m. Saturday, conducted by the Rev. Irvin Briley Jr. interment in church cemetery. Survived by a daughter, Jasmine Perry; a son, Tony Thompson; four sisters, Viola, Ola and Vivian Thompson and Bobby Anderson; three brothers, Larry, Allen and Perry Thompson; a devoted friend, James Perry; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by her father and a brother. Her mother, Lottie Thompson, died Nov. 25, 2000. She was a member of Greater Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, Algiers. Washington , BESSIE
An adult sitter and a resident of Baton Rouge, she died at 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2000, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center-Mid City. She was 81 and a native of Fayette, Miss. Visiting at First Baptist Church of Richmond Park, 3115 Newton St., from 8 a.m. Saturday until religious services at 11 a.m., with the Rev. William Davis Sr. officiating. interment in Southern Memorial Gardens, Scotlandville. Survived by a daughter, Mary T. Green, Riverside, Calif.; eight sons, Robert Lee, Johnny and Joe Berry, all of Baton Rouge, Benjamin Berry, Monrovia, Calif., Shelby M. Berry, Decatur, Ill., James Stewart, Natchez, Miss., Donald Lee and Ronald Lee Washington , both of Baton Rouge; 41 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren, 41 great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by her parents, Monroe and Mary Warner; two sisters, Mary Warner and Amma Ferrell; two brothers, Eugene Warner Sr. and Isaih Warner; three daughters, Margie L. James, Dianne Berry and Dell Baby Berry; and husbands, Benjamin Berry Sr. and Herman Washington . Pallbearers will be grandsons. Arrangements are handled by Daigre Southern Funeral Home (225-389-1002).

WATKINS, CHARLIE
A resident and native of Baton Rouge, he died Monday, Nov. 27, 2000, at his home. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Visiting at Miller & Daughter Mortuary, Edward Green Chapel, Zachary, from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday. Religious services at St. John Baptist Church No. 1, Woodville, Miss., at 1 p.m. Saturday, conducted by the Rev. Ernest Ford. interment in church cemetery. Survived by his wife, Allean C. Watkins, Baton Rouge; two daughters and a son-in-law, Jennifer L. Watkins and Kathy Watkins and Gregory Ross, all of Baton Rouge; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Frederick C. Watkins and Dwayne E. and Alfreda Watkins, all of Baton Rouge; father-in-law, Oliver Conrad Sr., Woodville; a sister, Mary W. Johnson , Meriden, Conn.; five grandchildren, Courtney Watkins, Eboney Watkins, Ivory Watkins, Jasmin Ross and Jeniah Calvin, all of Baton Rouge; three godchildren, two brothers-in-law, five sisters-in-law, and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by parents, maternal grandparents, paternal grandparents and mother-in-law.

WHEELER, WAYNE
A resident of Baton Rouge, he died at 10:20 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 30, 2000, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center. He was 58 and a native of Birmingham, Ala. He was a National Guard veteran. Survived by his mother, Ernestine Wheeler, Baton Rouge; two sons, Beau Wheeler, Gonzales, and Christian Wheeler, Baton Rouge; two sisters, Diane Wheeler Reeves, Walker, and Nina David, Baton Rouge; two grandchildren, Amber Polozola and Tristyn Wheeler, both of Gonzales; and numerous nieces, nephews and close friends. Preceded in death by his father, Clyde Buford Wheeler. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 3704, Memphis, TN 38173-9966. Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., in charge of arrangements.

WHITLEY, MRS. WILLIAM ASHER (JOEL NICHOLS)
A longtime resident of Baton Rouge, she died at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2000, in Memphis, Tenn. She was 86 and a native of Monroe. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday. Religious services at First United Methodist Church, 930 North Blvd., at 10 a.m. Saturday, conducted by the Rev. Chris Andrews. Entombment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory Mausoleum. She was preceded in death by her husband of more than 60 years, William Asher Whitley; and son, William Danton Whitley. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Jayne and Don Berube of Germantown, Tenn.; two grandsons, a granddaughter and three great-grandchildren. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, the National Society of the Colonial Dames of America in the state of Louisiana , Kappa Delta sorority, Chapter AA of PEO Sisterhood in Baton Rouge and Memphis, Novel Book Club, Arts and Decorations Club and Study Club of Baton Rouge.

WILLIAMS, LOUISE WEBB
A retired clerk with the U.S. Postal Service and a resident of Baton Rouge, she died at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2000, at her home. She was 58 and a native of Woodville, Miss. Visiting at Elm Grove Baptist Church, North 38th St., from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday. Religious services at Bleakhouse Baptist Church, Woodville, at 2 p.m. Saturday, conducted by the Rev. John H. Scott Sr. interment in church cemetery. Survived by her husband, Douglas Williams Sr.; mother, Ollie Mae Webb; a daughter, Leticia Williams Barth‚ and husband Clifford; two sons, Douglas Williams II and Desmond Williams; three sisters, Cinderella Clark, Gail Tolliver and husband Charles, and Janice Holloway and husband Michael; two brothers, Leon Webb Jr. and Cardell Webb and wife Nanna; and a grandson, Joshua Williams. Preceded in death by her father, Leon Webb Sr. She was a 1966 graduate of Southern University. Winnfield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Beloved mother of Betty Williams Paul and Charles and Ronald Williams, she passed into the hands of our Lord and Savior at 4:15 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2000, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center-Mid City. She was a retired dedicated teacher with East Baton Rouge Parish school system. She was 78 and a resident and native of Baton Rouge. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend religious services at Greater St. James Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Dr. W.M. Finister, at 10 a.m. Saturday. Visitation at the church from 8 a.m. until religious services begin. interment in Lutheran Cemetery. Winnfield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. She will be lovingly missed by her daughter, Betty, and two sons, Charles and Ronald. She is also survived by a son-in-law, Oscar Marshall Paul; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; two sisters-in-law, Olivia "Sweetie" Roberts, Blue Island, Ill., and Ophelia Jones, Chicago; a special friend and neighbor, Eliza Tucker; other relatives and friends. Adams III, Trent Sibley and Michael T. Adams; grandparents, Julia Ann Adams, Jackson , and James "Jimbo" and Frances G. Sibley, Pine Grove; and great-grandparents, Jimmy R. and Rena Sibley, Pine Grove. Preceded in death by grandfather, Marice D. Adams Sr.; and great-grandparents, Julius R. and Christine B. ANGELO, TILLIE BAKER
A former longtime resident of Franklinton and a resident of Flannery Oaks Guest House, Baton Rouge, she died at 5:45 a.m. Tuesday, June 20, 2000, in Baton Rouge. She was 84. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Victoria and Carlos Rabb of Baton Rouge; a son and daughter-in-law, Norman and Brenda Angelo of Franklinton; a stepdaughter, Mary Lou Lutz of Houston; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was the widow of Victor Angelo; and was preceded in death by a grandson, Larry Sheridan; and three stepchildren, Frances Knight, Ella Campbell and Victor Logsdon. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Franklinton Visitation at Crain Funeral Home, Franklinton, from 9:30 a.m. until religious services at 2 p.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. Karl Tingle officiating. Burial in Ellis Cemetery.

BURDGE, RICHARD C.
A retired engineer with Braun Engineering and a resident of Orlando, Fla., he died at 3:30 a.m. Sunday, June 18, 2000, at Sandlake Hospital, Orlando. He was a former longtime resident of Baton Rouge and a native of New York. Cryptside services at Greenoaks Memorial Park Mausoleum at 3 p.m. Thursday, conducted by the Rev. Robert Burgess. Survived by his wife, Elizabeth Burdge of Orlando and a former resident of Baton Rouge. Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., in charge of arrangements.

CHANDLER, ROBERT LEE
A loving son, brother, grandson and nephew, he died at 5:30 a.m. Monday, June 19, 2000, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, Baton Rouge. He was 22, a resident of Walker and a native of Baton Rouge. Visiting at First Pentecostal Church of Baton Rouge from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Wednesday and after 8 a.m. Thursday. Religious services at the church at 10 a.m. Thursday, conducted by the Rev. Curtis Young. Survived by his mother, Verna Chandler; maternal grandparents, Ray and Melba Ducote; a sister, Elisha Chandler; two brothers, Thomas and Louie Chandler; a nephew, Nathaniel Chandler; and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins. Preceded in death by his father, Thomas Pizzolatto; maternal grandfather, Vernon Chandler; paternal grandmother, Ethel Pizzolatto; a brother, Billy Chandler; and an uncle, Robert Lee Pizzolatto. Survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Theresa D. Tate and John Tate Jr.; a daughter-in-law, Deloris H. Davis; a sister, Daisy Griffin; a brother, Albert Gray; three grandchildren, DeShon L. Wailes, Monroe Davis Jr. and Charles Baker; three great-grandchildren, Joshua, Jason and Marcus Davis; two sisters-in-law, Florence Jones and Velma Davis; a brother-in-law, Van Davis Sr.; a foster daughter, Lucille Hilliard; a dedicated and loving caregiver, Bernadine Lathan; and a devoted friend, Arlevia Drummond. Preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Davis; a son, Monroe Davis Sr.; parents, Aline Gray and Henry and Mattie Johnson ; two brothers, George and James Gray; and a sister, Sarah Wilson.
