Susan S. Giroir

Susan S. Giroir, 47, Passed away Monday, Aug. 10, 2009, at her home in Slidell.

She was the loving companion of Lenny Trollman; mother of Eric Joseph “Joey” Giroir Jr.; daughter of the late Mary Lawson Street and Sherman Street; and sister of Gerald Mabry, Bill Mabry, Mary Hudson and Cynthia Street. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Giroir was a native of Lakeland, Fla., and a resident of Slidell for the past 27 years. Susan was a former harbormaster at the Bayou Liberty Marina in Slidell.

She was a former ballroom dancer and dance instructor, for which she had great passion. Susan was a very kindhearted and loving mother, sister and friend who will be dearly missed by many.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a memorial service at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd. W. (in Forest Lawn Cemetery), Slidell. Visitation will begin at noon.

In lieu of flowers, make donations to: STARC, a St. Tammany Parish organization that is dedicated to serving citizens with disabilities, at www.starcla.org /giving/.

Annette Willie Stein Collins

Annette Willie Stein Collins Passed away Friday, Nov. 13, 2009. She was born in Folsom April 28, 1932, to the late Frank and Edna Stevens Willie. The beloved wife of the late William “Bill” Stein, she raised her family in Madisonville.

She was the loving mother to three children, William Bruce Stein, Patti Eraine Stein Carlson and the late Vicki Lynn Stein. She is survived by five grandchildren, William Blake Stein, Benjamin Bruce Stein, Belinda Leanne Stein Barron, Christopher William Blackwell and David Ray Blackwell and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday from the chapel of E.J. Fielding Funeral Home. interment was in the Theo Dendinger Cemetery in Madisonville.

Audrey Radford Gray

Audrey Radford Gray, 83, Passed away Tuesday, March 2, 2010.

She was born in Covington to the late Thomas L. and Arena Alexander Radford. She is survived by three sons, Thomas, Brian and Joel “Wayne” Gray; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and sister, Lillian Michel.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Radford Sharp.

A native and lifelong resident of Covington.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral service at 2 p.m. Friday at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home Inc., 2260 W. 21st Ave., Covington. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time. interment in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens. Flowers or donations to your favorite charity in her memory are appreciated.

Audrey Radford Gray

Audrey Radford Gray, 83, Passed away Tuesday, March 2, 2010.

She was born in Covington to the late Thomas L. and Arena Alexander Radford. She is survived by three sons, Thomas, Brian and Joel “Wayne” Gray; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and sister, Lillian Michel.

Eli J. Stevens

Eli J. Stevens, 85, of Slidell, Passed away Wednesday, March 3, 2010, at Northshore Regional Medical Center in Slidell. He was the beloved husband of the late Kitty Stevens; companion of Bernice Crowell; father of Caroline Mitchell and husband Ralph Mitchell; son of the late Anthony and Betsy Stevens and brother of Gilbert Stevens. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Julie Mitchell, Tuff Mitchell, Samantha Mitchell, Steve Stevens, Randy Stevens and Rusty Stevens and numerous great-grandchildren, relatives and friends. He was a native of New York and a longtime resident of Slidell. Mr. Stevens served his community as a well-respected paving contractor.

A funeral Mass was celebrated Friday.

interment will be held at a later date in St. Joseph Cemetery in Chicago. Arrangements are by Honaker Funeral Home, Inc., Slidell.

Donald E. Jenkins

Donald E. Jenkins Passed away Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2010, at the age of 73. He was the beloved husband of Linda D. Jenkins; father of Duane E. Jenkins, Tommy B. Jenkins, Terri J. Arnona, Sam E. Taylor , Jr. and Donald S. Jenkins; son of the late Aline Lee Jenkins and Dillard Jenkins and brother of Edward Jenkins, Lois Reavis. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was a lifelong resident of St. Tammany Parish, a member of the Covington Masonic Lodge and a U.S. Air Force veteran of Korea and Viet Nam.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend funeral services at 10 a.m. tomorrow at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave., Covington, with visitation this evening from 6 – 9 p.m., and tomorrow morning from 9 a.m. until service time.

interment will follow in Waldheim Methodist Cemetery.

Sean Michael Harris

Sean Michael Harris, 31, Passed away Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2010. He was the beloved son of Beverly Pounds and the late James Michael Harris; father of Brayden James Harris. Brother of Magan Karr and the late Christopher James Harris; grandson of Patricia Gay and stepson of Randy Pounds. He was a native and a lifelong resident of the Covington area.

Funeral service were held yesterday at Hebron Baptist Church, 79614 Hwy 41, Bush.

interment was in First Baptist Church of Sun Cemetery. E.J. Fielding Funeral Home Inc., 2260 W. 21st. Ave., Covington entrusted with the arrangements.

Morgan Russell McKee

Morgan Russell McKee Passed away Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2010, at the age of 88. He was a lifetime resident of Blond. He was the beloved husband of Clara Jones McKee; father of Shelia L. McKee (Mario Benitez, Jr.) and Colleen McKee (Bryan Mitchell), and the late Russell McKee (Tina St. Clair); son of the late Sadie and Robert McKee; brother of Carmen Jenkins and Lawton “Buck” McKee and the late Polly McKee Ola Wascom, Maurice McKee, Evelyn Jenkins and Stanley McKee and grandfather of Ashley McKee, Nick McKee, and J. Morgan Mitchell.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at 3 p.m. today at New Zion Baptist Church, 17387 New Zion Church Road, Covington (Blond). Visitation at the church is from 12:30 p.m. until service time. interment will follow in Fussell Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the New Zion Baptist Church Building Fund. Arrangements are by Bagnell & Son Funeral Home of Covington.

Gwendolyn Porter

Gwendolyn Porter, age 68 of Slidell, Passed away Wednesday Nov. 17, 2010. She is survived by her daughters, Shirley Burley and Thomasa Veazay; three grandchildren, Tabetha Raby, Amber Siskey, and Christopher Tregle; two great-grandchildren, Madison and Lucas Siskey and her sister in law Cathy Porter. She is preceded in death by her parents Beulah and Walter Porter.

Funeral Services will be held at noon tomorrow from the chapel of D.T. Williams Funeral Home 67525 Hwy 41 Pearl River. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time. interment to follow in Greenwood Cemetery.

Matthew DeCarlo

Matthew DeCarlo, age 24, of Baton Rouge, Passed away Saturday Dec. 31, 2010. He was a college graduate of Southeastern University with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics, and he was attending LSU Graduate School in the architecture field.

DeCarlo is survived by his parents, Thomas and Gaynell DeCarlo; his brother, Jason DeCarlo; sister-in-law, Ashley DeCarlo and his nephew, Tommy DeCarlo.

He will be missed by a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Private services were held for Matthew DeCarlo.

Williams Funeral Home 67525 Hwy 41 Pearl River is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Eric (E.J.) Acosta

Mr. Eric (E.J.) Acosta, age 78 of Athens, Ala., Passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at his residence. There will be no public service.

Eric J. Acosta was born in Bogalusa, Louisiana to Eric Piere Acosta and Irene Blanchard Acosta. He retired from the United States Air Force and also retired from Digital Equipment Computer Service.

Mr. Acosta was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Alice and Ruby. He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Dagmar C. Acosta; daughters Deborah Ann Calcutta and Donna Jean Acosta, both of Ocean Springs, MS; sons Michael Eric Acosta of Ocean Springs, MS and Mark Steven Acosta of Athens, AL; stepdaughter Brenda Hessenflow of Chicago, IL; stepson Bruce Smith of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren Tiffany Dye, Cherish Townsend, Brandi Thompson, Erik Acosta, Jessika Acosta; stepgrandchildren Helena Hessenflow, Lydia Hessenflow, Kate Smith, and Ryan Smith; great-grandchildren Triston, Morgan, and Avery; and sister Myrtis Statham of Bogalusa, La.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the National MS Society.

Nolan John McKendall, Sr.

Nolan John McKendall, Sr. entered into eternal life Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2011, at the age of 90. He was beloved husband of Rosalie Poché McKendall for 64 years. He was the son of the late LeRoy John McKendall and Georgiana Laurent; devoted and loving father of Nolan McKendall, Jr., Micheal McKendall (Deborah), Georgiana Alexis (Eric Sr.), and Valarie Scott (Eric); proud grandfather of Dawn McKendall-Hunter (Michael, Sr.), Phebe McKendall, Eric Alexis, Jr. ( Lia), Mia Thomas, Erin Alexis and Larry Thomas; great-grandfather of Kristin Morrell, Michael Hunter, Jr., Monet Little, Mackenzie Thornton, Royce Paul, Ian Hunter, Madison Alexis and Kandace McKendall and brother-in-law of Annie Laura McKendall. He is preceded in death by two brothers, Roy McKendall, Sr. and Anthony McKendall, Sr., and by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A Funeral Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. tomorrow at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 28088 Main Street, Lacombe.

Visitation will begin at 9 a.m.

interment is in St. Louis Cemetery No. 3, 3421 Esplanade Ave., New Orleans.

Peggy Craddock

Peggy Craddock, age 53 of Pearl River, Passed away Monday, Sept. 19, 2011, at her residence. She is survived by her husband Lindy Craddock Jr. and three children, Lindy A. Craddock III, Hannah C. Craddock, and Levi Cole Craddock. She is also survived by her brother Jerry Rayburn; three sisters Monty Symons, Connie Rayburn and Sarah Rayburn; special nephew James “Willie” Allen and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Craddock is preceded in death by her parents James Rayburn Jr. and Gloria Speirs Rayburn, and one sister Toni Sylvester.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. tomorrow from the chapel of D.T. Williams Funeral Home 67525 Hwy 41, Pearl River. Visitation will be held from 7 - 10 p.m. today, and from 9 a.m. until service time tomorrow.

Brother Andy Jackson to be officiating.
