Stevens Terrebonne Sr.

Stevens Paul “T-Bone” Terrebonne Sr., 61, a native of Golden Meadow and resident of Houma, died at 3 a.m. Nov. 29, 2002.
A religion service was held at 10 a.m. today at Chauvin Funeral Home Chapel, with burial at St. Francis de Sales No. 2 Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Le Blanc Terrebonne of Houma; sons, Stevens Terrebonne Jr. of Mississippi and Barry Terrebonne of Houma; daughters, Julie Brown and Elizabeth Raffray of Houma; stepson, Kevin Jenkins of Houston; stepdaughters, Tamila Jenkins, Tonya Giroir and Stacy Jenkins of Houma; brother, Glenn Terrebonne of Houston; sister, Mary T. Breaux of Houston; 18 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, W.A. Terrebonne and Lucy Blanchard Terrebonne.

He was a foreman and supervisor of the deep water division with Shell Oil.

Rose Williams

Rose Bell Williams, 91, a native of Thibodaux and resident of Niagara Falls, N.Y., died at 4:30 p.m. Nov. 25, 2002.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Morning Star Baptist Church on Brule Road in Thibodaux. The funeral service will be held at 8 p.m. Monday at the church. The dismissal will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church with burial at the church cemetery.

She is survived by her son, the Rev. Edgar Williams Jr. of Niagara Fall; daughters, Dorothy W. Kitchen of Niagara Falls and Bernadette W. Oubre of Vacherie; brother, James Waller of Houma; sister, Beatrice Sargent of Thibodaux; she is also survived by four grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Williams Sr; parents, Thomas and Cecelia Thibodaux Waller; sisters, Lena Green, and Earlene Johnson ; and brothers, Irvin Waller, Leonard Waller, and Raymond Waller.

She was Baptist.

Ruth Detiveaux
Ruth Marie Detiveaux, 79, a native and resident of Houma, died at 9:09 p.m. Nov. 27, 2002.
Visitation will be from 6 to 10 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Falgout Funeral Home in Houma. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home chapel with burial at Holy Rosary Mausoleum.

She is survived by her husband, Collins Joseph Detiveaux; sons, Michael and Daniel Detiveaux of Houma; daughter, Phyllis D. Dugas of Houma; brothers, Charles and Jerry Babin; sisters, Shirley Picou and Betty Becnel; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Berwick Joseph and Ophelia Marie Bourg Babin; brother, Joseph Babin; and sister, Barbara Prestenbach.

Arthur Foret

Arthur A. Foret, 67, a native of Bourg and resident of Thibodaux, died at 3 p.m. Nov. 27, 2002.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Landry’s Funeral Home in Thibodaux.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Saturday at the church, with burial at St. Joseph Cemetery in Thibodaux.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Gravois; mother, Edna Duplantis Foret; sons, William “Bill” J. and Gary P. Foret; daughter, Cathy F. LeBlanc ; brothers, Donald, Phillip, Raymond and David Foret; sisters, Clara Sevin, Theresa Vedrine and Mary Boudreaux; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Issac P. Foret.

Percy Southall

Percy Southall, 51, a native and resident of Plattenville, died Nov. 24, 2002.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4:30 p.m. today at Williams and Southall Funeral Home and from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Cannon Baptist Church in Plattenville. A religious service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church with burial at the church cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn S. Southall of New Orleans; daughter, Annette Southall of Donaldsonville; son, Percy Link; stepson; John Snowton; father, the Rev. Obbie Southall; stepmother, Maude Southall; brothers, the Rev. Leroyal, Curtis, Dwight and Claiborne Southall; devoted friend, Veronica Dominoe; and a grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Iola Reed Southall; brothers, Obbie Jr. and Brian Southall; and sister, Audrey S. Smith.

Nedra Whitney

Nedra Boyd Whitney, 56, a native of Westwego and resident of Larose, died at 5:05 a.m. Nov. 28, 2002.
Visitation will be from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Sunday at New Mount Zion Baptist Church in Cut Off and from 8 to 10 a.m. Monday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Larose. The wake service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at New Mount Zion Baptist Church in Cut Off. The funeral service will be held at Holy Rosary Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Monday with burial at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church Cemetery.

She is survived by her husband, Rodney C. Whitney Sr., of Larose; mother, Cloretha Boyd Row; son, Rodney C. Whitney Jr., of LaPlace; daughters, Yvette W. Pierre of Dallas, Texas , and Crystal W. Green of Larose; brothers, the Rev. Timothy Boyd Jr., of Marrero, Charles Boyd of Houston, Texas , and Arron Travis Row of Baton Rouge; sisters, Bernetha Jean Walters and Daryl D. Duplessis of Marrero, and Sherell Joyce McFadden of Chicago.

She was preceded in death by her father, Timothy Boyd Sr.

She was Baptist and a member of New Mount Zion Baptist Church.

She was a member of Rebecca Chapter No. 23, Order of Eastern Star of Thibodaux.
Donations to the American Heart Association in her memory are preferred.

DAVID ‘LIL MAN’ BORDELON

David "Lil Man" Bordelon, 38, a native and resident of Franklin, died Monday, Oct. 13, 2003, at 6:25 p.m., at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital.

He is survived by his life companion, Brandy L. Hope of Franklin; two brothers, Earl Bordelon Jr. and Mark J. Bordelon, both of Franklin; one sister, Nancy M. Bordelon of Franklin; and his mother, Mary Ann Fitch Bordelon of Thibodaux.

Mr. Bordelon was preceded in death by a son, Blaise Adam Bordelon; and his father, Earl L. Bordelon Sr.

Service will be Tuesday, Oct. 14, at 3:30 p.m., at the Franklin Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the family.

Junius Joseph "Red" Granger Sr.

Junius Joseph "Red" Granger Sr., 84, a native of St. Martinville and a resident of Youngsville died Friday, Sept. 20, 2002 at 4 a.m. at his son’s residence.

Granger was a retired equipment operator for the St. Mary Parish Police Jury. He was a member of St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church and an avid deer hunter. Mr. Granger loved Cajun music and was often seen dancing on Bon Temps Rouler.

He is survived by three sons, Junius Granger Jr. and his wife Verna, of Franklin; Gene Granger and his wife, Sissy, of Youngsville, and Olan Granger and his wife, Sheryl, of St. Martinville; five daughters, Mary Franks and her husband, George, of Breaux Bridge, Barbara Ann Granger Landry and her husband, Fred J. Landry, of San Antonio, Texas , Necia Prosper and her husband, Merlin, of St. Martinville, Helen Granger of Duson, and Liz Lancon and her husband, Hansel, of Abbeville; 16 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, nine step-grandchildren, 20 step-great grandchildren and four step great-great-grandchildren.

Granger was preceded in death by his wife, Eunice Copp Granger; his parents, Laodice and Marie Blanchard Granger; four brothers, Simon, Dewey, Stanley and Louis Granger; a granddaughter, Lisa Maturin; a great-grandson, Luke Olivier and a step great-granddaughter, Ariel Lancon.

Visitation was held Friday, Sept. 20, from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Evangeline Funeral Homes of New Iberia, with a Rosary service at 7:30 p.m. The funeral home reopened Saturday at 8 a.m. and funeral services were held at 1 p.m. at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church with the Rev. Austin Leger officiating. interment was in the St. Michael’s Mausoleum.

Pallbearers were Fraise and Scott Granger, Lee Franks, Wayne Maturin, Barry Granger and Blake Wiltz. Honorary pallbearers will be Terry Franks, Orie Granger, Jerry Franks and Jim Franks.

The Evangeline Funeral Home of New Iberia was in charge of arrangements.

HARRY GREEN SR.

Mr. Harry Green Sr., 52, a resident and native of Franklin, died Monday, Oct. 4, 2004, at 6:45 p.m., at Franklin Foundation Hospital.

He is survived by his wife, Joycelyn Fernandez Green of Franklin; his mother, Mrs. Annie Jackson Green of Franklin; two sons, Harry J. Green Jr. of Homer, La. and Brian Green of Franklin; one daughter, Stacy Green of Franklin; four brothers, Wilson Brown Jr. of Baldwin, Roy D. Green of Waterloo, Iowa, Herman and Lynn Green, both of Franklin; five sisters, Gerandine Brown and Doris Green Starks, both of Waterloo, Iowa, Joyce Green Johnson and Sandra Green, both of Franklin, and Celeste Stansbury of Las Vegas, Nevada; and six grandchildren.

Visitations will be observed Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Otis Mortuary Chapel.

Burial rites will be read Saturday, at 1 p.m., at the mortuary. The Rev. Clarence Stewart will officiate. interment will follow in the Main Street Cemetery in Franklin.

The Otis Mortuary of Franklin is in charge of preparations.

BRO. MOSES GRIMM SR.

Bro. Moses Grimm Sr., a resident of Franklin and native of the Katy Plantation, died Friday, Sept. 20, 2002, at 6:40 p.m., at his residence.

Bro. Grimm was the youngest child born to Louisa M. Baker Grimm and William Grimm Sr.

He was united in marriage to the late Sis. Mary F. Keys Grimm. To this union, ten children were born: four daughters, Flora B. Harris of Baldwin, Brenda Jackson (Andrew) of Jeanerette, Glenda F. Grimm of Baldwin, Cathy Eave (Gary) of Franklin; six sons, Moses Grimm Jr. of Franklin, Robert Grimm (Frances), and Larry Grimm of Franklin, Warren Grimm of Atlanta, Georgia, Rev. Donald R. Grimm (Karen) of Baldwin and Rev. Benjamin Grimm (Vanessa) of Jeanerette; three grandchildren Bro. Grimm and Sis. Grimm reared, Alfred Harris Jr. of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Yolanda H. Vital of Opelousas and Lakeisha Harding of Baldwin; two godchildren, Diane Roberson and Hazel Kinchen; one sister-in-law, Catherine Burrell of Laurel, Maryland; 27 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Bro. Grimm was preceded in death by his late wife, Sis. Mary F. Keys Grimm; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Grimm Sr.; two brothers; five sisters; and one grandson, Moses Grimm III.

The funeral services will be held Tuesday, Sept. 24, at 8 p.m., at the Otis Mortuary Chapel.

Dismissal will be Wednesday, at 10 a.m. Burial will be in the Franklin Cemetery.

The Otis Mortuary, Inc. of Franklin is in charge of preparations.

ROBERT GUY JR.

Mr. Robert Guy Jr., 49, a resident and native of Franklin, died Saturday, Nov. 20, 2004, at 8:10 a.m., at Franklin Foundation Hospital, following a short illness.

He is survived by three sons, Robert E. Chevis and Roderick, both of Baton Rouge, and Travis L. Chevis of Franklin; two daughters, Chantell Hunter of Montgomery, Alabama and Celestine Janae Chevis of Baton Rouge; two brothers, Rodney (Tammy) Guy of Baton Rouge and Louis (Stella) Darby of Franklin; six sisters, Barbara (Rev. Robert L.) Johnson , Cheryl (Michael) Lewis, Gwendolyn (Lawrence) Bowie and Sandra (Wesley) Dumas, all of Franklin, Patria (Anderson "AJ") Singleton of Lafayette and Lorris (Min. Michael) Kelly of Kaplan.

Visitations were observed Friday, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the St. Stephen Baptist Church.

Burial rites were read Friday, at 1 p.m., at that church. The Rev. Kevin Jenkins officiated. interment followed in the Nazarene Baptist Church Cemetery in Verdunville.

The Otis Mortuary of Franklin was in charge of preparations.
