NORMA K. BOYKIN

Mrs. Norma Kelley Boykin, 71, a native of Massey, Maryland and a resident of Glencoe for 33 years died Monday, May 28, 2007 at her residence.

The family requests that visitation be observed Friday, June 1, 2007, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., at Ibert’s in Franklin.

Visitation will resume Saturday, at 9 a.m., at the Little Pass Baptist Church in Charenton.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, at 12 noon, at the Little Pass Baptist Church with the Rev. Bobby Hodnett and Brother Don Whatley officiating the services. interment will follow in St. Helen’s Cemetery in Louisa.

Mrs. Boykin is survived by five sons, John Russell Boykin and his wife, Danette, of Glencoe; Thomas Eugene Boykin and his wife, Maria, of Brownsville, Texas ; Franklin Kelley Boykin of Glencoe; Talley Patrick Boykin and his wife, Angela, of Glencoe; and William Donald Boykin and his wife, Kathleen, of Baldwin; one daughter, Evelyn Boykin Salone of Centerville; three brothers, Robert E. Kelley Sr. of Massey, Maryland, Donald Kelley of Clayton, Delaware and James Russell Kelley of Newark, Delaware; two sisters, Kay Olliver of Chestertown, Maryland and Eileen Dugan of Wilmington, Delaware; 14 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, John Boykin Jr.; her father, Russell Kelly; her mother, Evelyn Palamatory Kelley; one brother, Thomas Kelley; one sister, Rita Savin; one son-in-law, Troy Salone; one grandchild; and one great grandchild.

Mrs. Boykin was a long time member of the Little Pass Baptist Church in Charenton.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert’s Mortuary, Inc. of Franklin.

WILLA SNEED BREAUX

Mrs. Willa "Deannie" Sneed Breaux, 65, a native of Hackberry, and a resident of Franklin for the past 9½ years, died Tuesday, May 29, 2007, at Franklin Foundation Hospital at 10:45 a.m.

The family requests that visitation be observed Thursday, May 31, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Ibert’s Mortuary in Franklin.

Visitation will resume Friday at 8 a.m. at the mortuary.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 11a.m. at Ibert’s with the Rev. James Prentice Burks of Mount Pleasant, Texas officiating the services. interment will follow in Perpetual Park Cemetery in Franklin.

Mrs. Breaux is survived by her husband, Herbert A. Breaux of Franklin; one son, James Johnson of Tenaha, Texas ; one daughter, Faye Sanders Bonin of New Iberia; two stepsons, Kevin and Stephen Breaux, both of Franklin; two stepdaughters, Tracie Dupuy of Youngsville and Lynette Bagala of New Iberia; one brother, Melvin Broussard of Johnson Bayou, La.; three sisters, Dorothy Clement of Vinton, La., Velma Acord of Deweyville, Texas and Ruby Bonner of Orange, Texas : 11 grandchildren; 1 great granddaughter; and her three devoted caregivers, Crystal Broussard, Connie Burrell and Wilda Howard.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Eli Broussard and Dilita LaBove Broussard; one daughter, Jana Toniette Breaux; and two brothers, B. Roy and Nolan Broussard.

Mrs. Breaux was a licensed florist and enjoyed making many crafts and growing plants.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert’s Mortuary, Inc. of Franklin.

RIVERS BREAUX

Mr. Rivers Breaux, 97, a native and lifelong resident of Franklin, died Thursday, April 29, 2010 at the Franklin Foundation Hospital.

He retired as a sugarcane farmer who worked in the sugarcane industry most of his life. He spent his retired years traveling, vegetable gardening and also serving as a consultant to his son and grandsons at the Breaux Brothers Farms of the Bellevue and Oaklawn areas.

Mr. Breaux is survived by his son, Herbert Breaux of Franklin; his daughter, Audrey Breaux Oestriether and her husband, Emile Oestriether, of Alexandria; his daughter-in-law, Renelle Boudreaux Breaux, of Houma; a spouse, Mabel L. Breaux of Lydia; a brother, Percy Breaux; nine grandchildren, Emile Oestriether III, Ann Oestriether, Kurt Oestriether, Tracie Breaux Dupuy, Kevin Breaux, Lynette Breaux Bagala, Stephen Breaux, Chad Breaux and Shelly Breaux; 14 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Rivette Breaux; a son Hugh Francis Breaux; his father, Emile Breaux; his mother, Angeline Simoneaux Breaux; three brothers, Sidney, Lenace and E.J. Breaux; two sisters, Eunice Fournier and Anna Mae Broussard; and a granddaughter, Liesl Oestriether.

The family requests that visitation be observed Friday, April 30, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., at Ibert’s in Franklin, with a rosary being prayed at 7 p.m.

Visitation resumes Saturday, May 1, from 9 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at Ibert’s.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, May 1, at 12 noon, at the Church of the Assumption in Franklin. Father Lloyd Benoit will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Franklin Cemetery.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made in Mr. Rivers’ name to: Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, (504) 455-5194, 4621 W Napoleon Ave., #207, Metairie, LA 70001.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert’s Mortuary, Inc. of Franklin.

LAURA M. BREAUX

Laura Belle Morvant Breaux, 87, originally of Franklin, died Friday, June 1, 2007, at 5:10 p.m., at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette. She was a resident of Magnolia Estates Nursing Home in Lafayette.

Mrs. Breaux is survived by two sons, Jessie Breaux and his wife, Cindy Scelfo, of Franklin; and Lynn Breaux and his wife, Anita Switzer, of Jeanerette; three daughters, Joy Bodin and her husband, Gabe, of Gonzales; Gayle Smith and her husband, John R., of Baton Rouge; and Bonnie Fontane and her husband, John, of Duson; 11 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie A. Breaux Sr.; her parents, Edwin Faustin Morvant and Margaret Mary Boudreaux Morvant; four brothers, Ira Dupre, Clifford Morvant, Edmond Morvant Sr., and Morris Morvant Sr.; and three sisters, Mrs. Simon (Nellie Dupre) Becnel, Mrs. Nora (Lillian) Delcambre and Mrs. E.F. (Mable) Comeaux.

The family requested that visiting hours be observed Sunday, June 3, at Ibert’s Mortuary, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., with the rosary prayed at 6 p.m. Visiting resumed Monday at 8 a.m. at Ibert’s until 10:30 a.m.

A Mass of Christian burial was held Monday, at 11 a.m., at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Baldwin. interment followed in the church cemetery. Father Gregory Cormier officiated the services.

Pallbearers were Tim Raphael, Tommy Raphael, Ryan Breaux, Chet Breaux, Ping Nitchin and Brannon Short.

Arrangements were entrusted to Ibert’s Mortuary, Inc. of Franklin.

ALICE G. BUTLER

Mrs. Alice Grogan Butler, 70, a resident and native of Patterson, died Monday, April 14, 2008, at 11:32 a.m., at Louisiana Specialty Hospital in Marrero following a short illness.

She is survived by one son, John B. Grogan of Amelia; six daughters, Chriss Knight of Youngsville, Shirley Francis of Bayou Vista, Carol J. Lewis, Etta Jennings, Claudia Taylor and Mary E. Butler, all of Patterson; four brothers, Andrew, Mario and Steve Grogan of Patterson and Peter Grogan of Morgan City; four sisters, Mary Ann Grogan, Mercy Hemsley and Priscilla Smith of Patterson and Julia Richardson of Gray; 26 grandchildren; and 36 great grandchildren.

Mrs. Butler was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one grandson, two great grandchildren, one sister and two brothers.

Visitations will be observed Friday, April 18, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Good Hope Baptist Church in Patterson.

Burial rites will be read Friday, at 2 p.m., at that church, with Pastor Patrick T. Jones Sr. officiating. interment will follow in the Shield Cemetery in Patterson.

The Otis Mortuary of Franklin is in charge of preparations.

JAMIE LYNN BUTLER

Miss Jamie Lynn Butler, 29, a resident of Berwick and native of Patterson, died suddenly Saturday, August 21, 2010, at 11:30 a.m., at Leonard J. Chabert Medical Center in Houma.

She is survived by her mother, Norma Butler of Berwick; father, Bryon Levy Sr. of Austin, Texas ; four sons, A’Donaty Owens, Raymond Owens III, Ja’Quaylin Owens and Tylin Butler, all of Berwick; two daughters, Kiyanna Butler and Briyanna Butler, all of Berwick; seven brothers; nine sisters; and grandparents, Barbara Perry of Patterson, Erwin Butler of Patterson, Annie Mae Veltz of Patterson and Willie Francis of Los Angeles, California.

Visitations will be observed Saturday, Aug. 28, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at New Salem Baptist Church in Patterson.

Burial rites will be read Saturday, at 2 p.m., at that church, with the Rev. Samuel Calhoun officiating. interment will follow in the Shield Cemetery in Patterson.

The Otis Mortuary of Franklin is in charge of preparations.

JAMES ETTA BUTLER

James Etta Butler, 83, a native and resident of Patterson, died Friday, Jan. 28, 2011, at 5:35 a.m., at Franklin Foundation Hospital.

Visitation will be held Monday, February 7 at New Salem Baptist Church in Patterson from 9 a.m. until funeral service at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in the Shield Cemetery.

James leaves to cherish her memories her daughter, Mary Etta Butler Johnson of Houston, Texas ; two sisters, Annie E. Augustine of Patterson and Lizzie Cooper of Sacramento, California; nine grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.

Jones Funeral Home of Morgan City is in charge of arrangements.

AMY BODIN CLEMENTS

Mrs. Amy Bodin Clements, 73, a native of Four Corners and a resident of Charenton for the past 23 years, died Saturday, June 2, 2007, at her residence.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed Tuesday, June 5, 2007, at Sacred Heart in Baldwin from 9 a.m. until time of services, with a rosary being prayed at 10:30 a.m.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held Tuesday, at 11 a.m., at Sacred Heart, with Father Gregory Cormier officiating the services. Entombment will follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Charenton.

Acting as pallbearers will be Barry Clements, Timothy Clements, Carl Krieg, Barry Clements Jr., Frank Greaux and Jeffery Alcorn. Acting as honorary pallbearers are Bryant Tabb and Steve Clements.

Mrs. Clements is survived by her husband of 53 years, Harold Joseph "KaTa" Clements of Charenton; three sons, Barry Clements and his wife, Christine, of Jeanerette; Timothy Clements and his companion, Donis Mire, of Coteau; and Steve Clements and his wife, Kate, of New Iberia; one daughter, Paula Krieg and her husband, Carl, of Youngsville; two brothers, Elias Bodin of New Iberia and Gerald Bodin of Breaux Bridge; one sister, Dorothy Migues of New Iberia; four helpful friends and neighbors, Jed Robison and his wife, Diane, and Robert Dumesnil and his wife, Chris, all of Charenton; six grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, Saul Bodin; her mother, Madeline Hains Bodin; and one sister, Flavia Sanchez.

Mrs. Clements was a dedicated teacher. She taught catechism for seven years. She was a lector in Glencoe for 25 years and a lector in Baldwin for three years. Mrs. Clements was a dedicated wife, mother and friend. She touched many hearts and will be missed by all.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert’s Mortuary, Inc. of Franklin.

MARY LEE CLEMENTS

Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 31, 2011, at 11 a.m., at Ibert’s Mortuary for Mary Lee Smith Clements, who Passed away Monday, March 28, 2011, at 6:22 p.m., at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans.

Burial will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery in Centerville. Fr. Lloyd Benoit will officiate the services.

A gathering of family and friends will be held Thursday at Ibert’s from 8:30 a.m. until time of service.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert’s Mortuary, Inc. of Franklin.
