VEALLA M. GUIDRY

Vealla Mae Guidry, 72, a native and resident of Morgan City, died Sunday, July 26, 2009, at 4:35 a.m., at the Patterson Health Care Center following a long illness.

Visitation will be Friday, July 31 at Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church from 10 a.m. until the funeral at 1 p.m. Burial will follow in the Morgan City Cemetery (St. Anthony Society).

She is survived by her mother, Mrs. Ruth M. Cross of Morgan City; a son, Allton P. Guidry Jr. of Wichita, Kansas; three daughters, Rosie Gottlieb of Alexandria, Lorrice Guidry of Lafayette and Ruth Celestine of New Iberia; and one sister, Beatrice Cross of Morgan City; 10 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, many special friends and prayer warriors.

Jones Funeral Home of Morgan City is in charge of arrangements.

HARRIET C. HANSON

Harriet Frances Cain Hanson, 66, a native of St. Pauls, North Carolina and a longtime resident of Franklin, died Thursday, May 8, 2008, at 1:05 a.m., at Franklin Foundation Hospital.

Mrs. Hanson is survived by one son, Richard Lee Hanson and his wife, Leslie, of Franklin; two daughters, Helen H. Duhon and her husband, Woodley Jr. of Franklin and Tammy Hanson of Franklin; two sisters, Mary Scott of Arizona and Pearl Fronak of Pennsylvania ; eight grandchildren, Woodley Duhon III, Jeremiah Duhon, Sabrina Duhon, Holly Hebert, Bud Hebert, Brittany Aucoin, Shelbie Aucoin and Nicole Verrett; and seven great grandchildren, Shilah Hebert, Au’na Hebert, Leah Richard, Lexie Richard, Carlie Duhon, Ian LeBlanc and Lex Hebert.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Prentize Hanson; one son, Ricky Lee Hanson; one granddaughter, Kathryn Hanson; her parents, James Dewey Cain and Fannie Scott Cain; one brother, William "Bill" Cain; and two sisters, Kathleen Judice and Katie Clark.

Memorial graveside services will be held Saturday, May 10, at 9:30 a.m., in the Perpetual Park Cemetery. The Rev. Bobby Hodnett will officiate the service.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert’s Mortuary, Inc. of Franklin.

JENNY P.HARRIS

Jenny P. Harris, 50, a resident and native of Morgan City, died Saturday, June 23, 2007, at 7:47 p.m., at Teche Regional Medical Center following a long illness.

She is survived by her companion, Jim Scott of Amelia; two sons, Joseph Harris and Earnest Harris Jr., both of Morgan City; three daughters, Rebecca Harris and Mrs. Raymond (Tina Poole) White , both of Amelia, and Melissa Poole of Morgan City; three brothers, Charles Poole of Oklahoma , La., Darrly Poole and Clarence Poole of Morgan City; two stepbrothers, Raymond Poole Sr. and Phillip Jones, both of Morgan City; one sister, Linda Poole of Opelousas; three stepsisters, Elaine Craft and Elmire Johnson , both of Morgan City, and Mate Singleton of Texas ; 12 grandchildren; one godchild; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Harris was preceded in death by her husband, three sisters and three brothers.

Visitations will be observed Friday, June 29, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., at Free Ministries.

Funeral rites will be held Friday, at 11 a.m., at Free Ministries. interment will follow in the Morgan City Cemetery.

ELNORA RENTHROPE PARKER JOSEPH

Mrs. Elnora Renthrope Parker Joseph, 85, a resident and native of Franklin, died Wednesday, July 4, 2007, at 10:15 p.m., at Franklin Health Care Center following a short illness. Mrs. Joseph was also known as "Mama", "Blue", "Black", "Buddy", "Mama Nora" and "Mum".

She is survived by one stepson, Edward Joseph Sr. of Four Corners; one daughter-in-law, Cleotha Joseph of Franklin; one sister, Martha Jameson of Napoleonville; 40 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and one nephew, Charles Renthrope of Franklin. Mrs. Joseph also reared three grandchildren, Patty J. (Donald) Defils and Patrick (Gwendolyn) Parker of Franklin and John (Nicole) Parker of Farmington, New Mexico; and one great grandson, Hakim Defils of Lafayette.

Mrs. Joseph was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, one daughter, Jessie Mae Parker; 11 stepchildren; one sister, one brother and three grandchildren.

Visitations will be observed Monday, July 9, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the Otis Mortuary Chapel in Franklin.

Visitations will continue Tuesday, July 10, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with burial rites at 2 p.m. at the mortuary. interment will follow at the Perpetual Park Cemetery in Franklin. The Rev. Preston Watson will officiate.

The family wishes to thank Franklin Health Care Center, Dr. Broussard, Dr. Tesi, Dr. Kitakule and Dr. Wiltz and staffs for their care.

The Otis Mortuary of Franklin is in charge of preparations.

STEVEN KEMP

Steven "Peanut" Kemp, 65, a resident of Morgan City and native of Verdunville, died Thursday, May 1, 2008, at Teche Regional Medical.

He was a veteran of the United States Air Force.

Survivors include a special friend and caregiver, Betty Young of Verdunville; one son, David Jay Kemp of Gulfport, Mississippi; and two sisters, Lillian Kemp of Patterson and Mrs. William (Gloria) Roberson of Houston, Texas .

Visitation will be held today, from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., at Jones Funeral Home Chapel.

Visitations will also be observed Tuesday, May 6, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., at the Walmsley United Methodist Church.

Funeral rites will be held Tuesday, at 11 a.m., at Walmsley United Methodist Church. interment will follow in the Little Zion Cemetery in Verdunville.

LILLIAN L. KEMP

Lillian Leona “Poochie” Kemp, 65, a resident of Patterson Health Care and a native of Verdunville, died Thursday, August 19, 2010, at 3:32 p.m., at Teche Regional Medical Center.

Visitation will be held Friday, August 27 at Walmsley United Methodist Church from 9 a.m. until funeral at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in the Little Zion Cemetery in Verdunville.

Poochie leaves to cherish her memories two sons, Cedric Kemp of Bastrop, and James “Tony” (Jenavee) Kemp of Houston, Texas ; one daughter, Elouise Smith of Morgan City; a sister, Mrs. William (Gloria Kemp) Roberson Sr. of Houston, Texas ; two aunts, Betty Mandubourg of Verdunville and Geraldine Green of Los Angeles, California; her special friends, Betty Young of Centerville, Marion Murray of Patterson and Marlene K. Nathan of Baldwin; and a number of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, family and friends.

Lillian was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Steve “Peanut” Kemp Jr.

HAYDEN LADMIRAULT

A beloved and blessed gift from heaven was called home by God on July 16, 2008 when Hayden Louis Ladmirault died at his home in Adeline, La. Hayden was a beautiful child who adored his big sister, Sélène, and his baby brother, Aubrey. Hayden loved to laugh, race cars, and play with his trains and Superman toys. He was incessantly curious and always fearless. For five years he was a source of constant joy and occasional exasperation, but was a fire that warmed the hearts of his family and friends daily with his smile and laughter.

Hayden attended Top Kids II, graduated from pre-kindergarten at G.W. Hamilton Elementary in Baldwin, and was attending Foster Elementary School in Franklin. He was a proud member of the Krewe of Couche Couche, having marched yearly.

Preceding Hayden in death were his grandfather, Alex P. Allain of Jeanerette and his nana, Lorene Mayo of Washington , D.C.

He is survived by his parents, Daniel Ladmirault and Edmée Allain of Adeline ; grandparents, Shirley and Wardell Ladmirault, Sr. of New Roads, and Mathé Allain of Adeline ; and siblings, Séléne Louise Allain-Kovacs and Aubrey LeBreton Ladmirault of Adeline. He is also survived by his uncles and aunts, Karen and Wardell Ladmirault, Jr. and children, Ian and Caitlain of Youngsville, Robert and Evelyn "Teddy" Ladmirault and son, Joey of Sheridan, Wy., Carl and Jane Ladmirault and children, Matthew, Diana, Stephanie, Erica, Jennifer, and Rebecca, James Laanmirault and Kellen Wilson and children, John Wilson and Cameron Gregg of Houston, Texas ; John and Mary L. Sullivan of Cambridge, Ma., and P. Kevin Allain of Adeline. Hayden leaves behind a host of special friends, including Rose Rubbins and family of Sorrell, the Almeta and Cleveland Charles family clan of Charenton, Rhoda Guillotte and children, Sidney, Devin, Christopher, and especially Emily of Baldwin, Doug Payton, Eric Evans, Adam Francis, Chad Angelle, Rick and M.J. Foucheux of Washington , D.C., and Kelly and Christopher Wilson and children, James and Erin of Lafayette. The list of those people Hayden touched with his inquisitive nature and infectious smile is too numerous to list, but you know who you are, and Hayden’s family thanks you.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Hayden on Saturday, July 19, 2008 at 10 a.m. in St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Jeanerette. Rev. Jody Simoneaux will serve as celebrant. Entombment will follow in St. John the Evangelist Catholic Mausoleum. The uncles listed above will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2008 from 8 a.m. until service time in David Funeral Home, 400 Provost Street, Jeanerette, with a rosary being recited shortly after visitation begins.

The family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the Epilepsy Therapy Project at www.epilepsy.com, or Attn: Executive Director, P.O. Box 742, Middleburg, VA 20118.

CHARLOTTE LANDRY

JEANERETTE — A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Kerry Landry, the former Charlotte Hebert, 62, was conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, September 16, 2008, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, with the Rev. Ed Degeyter officiating. Entombment followed in Beau Pre Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Visiting hours were observed Monday, September 15, from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m., with a rosary being recited at 6:30 p.m. at David Funeral Home. Visitation resumed Tuesday, September 16, at 8 a.m. until the time of service.

A native and resident of Jeanerette, Mrs. Landry died at 10:24 a.m. Saturday, September 13, 2008, at Iberia Medical Center.

Charlotte enjoyed fishing, camping, sewing and being with her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Kerry Landry of Jeanerette; mother, Dorothy "Dollie" Gondron Landry of Jeanerette; daughters, Paige L. Landry and husband, Jeff, of Jeanerette, Mandy L. Comeaux and husband, Brad, of Jeanerette, and Cassie Landry of Franklin; son, Slade Landry and wife, Ashley, of Jeanerette; brother, Elwood "T-Boy" Hebert and wife, Martha, of Kenner; sister, Melody L. Landry and husband, Mike, of Jeanerette; grandchildren, Lauren Landry, Addi Landry, Kerri and Halle Comeaux; loving pets, Bo and Grizz; and numerous nieces, nephews and many supporting friends.

Mrs. Landry was preceded in death by her father, Elwood Hebert; stepfather, Paul "T-Paul" Landry; and loving pet, Taz.

Pallbearers were Slade Landry, Jeff Landry, Brad Comeaux, Elwood "T-Boy" Hebert, Corey Landry and Josh Landry.

Honorary pallbearers were Donnie Bourque, Ray Concienne, Tommy Ducote, Warren James Fitzgerald, Tommy Frickey, Michael Lancon, Donald Perro, David Simoneaux, Keith Landry, Gerald "Doodie" Hebert and Lance Weller.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Landry’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.

ELNORA ARCEMONT LANDRY

June 9, 1925 ~ Nov. 11, 2010

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 13, 2010, at 11 a.m., at Ibert’s Mortuary in Patterson for Mrs. Elnora Arcemont Landry, 85, a native of Morgan City, former longtime resident of Franklin, and a current resident of Morgan City, who Passed away Thursday, November 11, 2010, at 9:25 p.m., at the Morgan City Health Care Center.

Burial will follow in the Morgan City Cemetery. The Rev. Steven Kelly of Bayou Vista Baptist Church will officiate the services.

Mrs. Elnora is survived by her husband, Wilson Landry Jr. of Morgan City; eight children, Ruth Meaux of Baldwin, Gayle Mullally of Morgan City, Elnora Vallery of Franklin, Luke Romero of Franklin, Donald Legnon of Franklin, Chester George of Centerville, Patricia Vidrine of Oakdale and Sandra Norris of Franklin; 34 grandchildren; 52 great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by an infant son, Andrew Romero; a daughter, Mary Jane Nall; her first husband, Nutice Romero; her parents, Lester Arcemont and Theresa Boudreaux Arcemont; a brother, Andrew Arcemont; three sisters, Lily Beadle, Marie Durapau and Beatrice Derouen; and four grandchildren, Steven Mendoza, Cory Legnon, Tina Grow and Hope Romero.

A gathering of family and friends will be held Friday, November 12, at Ibert’s Mortuary in Patterson, from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m., and again Saturday, November 13, from 8 a.m. until time of service.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert’s Mortuary, Inc. of Franklin.
