WILTON LANDRY JR.

Wilton Landry Jr., 62, a native of Jeanerette and a resident of Franklin, died Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at Iberia Medical Center, at 5:05 p.m.

Visitation will be held at Macedonia Baptist Church in Ashton Wednesday, December 22, from 10 a.m. until funeral service at 1 p.m. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Wilton leaves to cherish his memories three daughters, Quana Williams and Tiuana Williams, both of New Iberia, and Lorinda Landry of Abbeville; one son, Lorenzo Bowie of New Orleans; one stepson, Denson Jackson of Houston, Texas ; three sisters, Diane Barnes of Stockton, California, Sherly Ford of Port Arthur, Texas and Faye Williams of Sunnyvale, California; one brother, Michael Landry of Oakland, California; eight grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.

Wilton was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and a sister.

Jones Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

DONALD J. LEBLANC

Donald John "Pomp" LeBlanc , 76, a native and lifelong resident of Baldwin, died Friday, June 29, 2007, at 5:35 a.m., at Dauterive Hospital.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Ann Mendoza LeBlanc of Baldwin; two sons, Marty LeBlanc and his wife, Jeanne, of Charenton and Randy LeBlanc of Baldwin; two daughters, Mona Robinson and her husband, Jimmy, of Waco, GA and Nola "Toc" Darden and her husband, Anthony, of Charenton; one brother, Ray LeBlanc and his wife, Loretta, of Lafayette; nine sisters, Beverly Chauvin of Franklin; Rosalie "Lilly" Broussard of Franklin; Molly Billiot and her husband, Elton, of Franklin; Yvonne Broussard of Groves, TX; Lois "Puggy" Comeaux; Claire Walker and Elaine Hebert, all of Franklin; Nancy Armstrong and her husband, Chuck, of Oxford, AL; and Kathy Genest and her husband, David of Jeanerette; seven grandchildren, Brandi Thomas, Tosha Williams, Amy, Toni and Jake Darden, Kimberly and Beau LeBlanc ; and five great grandchildren, Hunter and Luke Thomas, Kaegen and Haldyn Williams and Breylon Darden.

Mr. LeBlanc was preceded in death by his son, Gary LeBlanc ; his parents, John Joseph LeBlanc and Daisy Marie L. LeBlanc ; two sisters, Mary Ann Loveless and Gail LeBlanc .

Visitation will be held Saturday, June 30, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Baldwin, with a rosary being recited at 12 noon.

A Mass of Christian burial at 1 p.m., at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Saturday. interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Baldwin.

Mr. LeBlanc retired as a communications officer from the Louisiana State Police in 1983, after 23 years of service. He had a lifelong love of motorcycles and in his later years looked forward to driving his own motorized scooter to watch the parade of motorcycles riding for muscular dystrophy, a disease which he suffered from for 48 years.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert’s Mortuary, Inc.

JOHN LEGNON JR.

John Amos Legnon Jr., 63, a native of Patoutville and a resident of Franklin, died Tuesday, July 15, at 7:20 p.m., at Franklin Foundation Hospital.

The family requests that visitation be observed Friday, July 18, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Church of Assumption, with a rosary at 12 noon.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday, at 1 p.m., at the Church of Assumption, with Fr. Benoit officiating. Burial will follow in the perpetual Park Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Betty Jean Jones Legnon of Franklin; one son, Chris Legnon of Franklin; one daughter, Samantha Griffin of Rockport, Texas ; four sisters, Judy L. Dupre and her husband, Danny, of Lydia; Lisa L. Romero of Franklin; Anita L. Robinson and her husband, Donny, of Atlanta, Georgia; and Loretta L. Bray of Franklin; four brothers, Russell Legnon and his wife, Peggy, of Sorrel; Marshall Legnon and his wife, Connie, of Patterson; Patrick Legnon and his wife, Shirley, of Baldwin; and Larry Legnon and his wife, Tammy, of Jennings; one sister-in-law, Judy Polite and her husband, Sam, of Franklin; mother-in-law, Katherine Jones of Franklin; and nieces and nephews.

Mr. Legnon was preceded in death by his parents, John Amos Legnon Sr. and Edith LeBlanc Legnon; one brother, Eddie Anthony Legnon; one sister, Pamela Marie Legnon; his maternal grandparents, Eli LeBlanc and Lovena Agnes Gary LeBlanc ; his paternal grandparents, Emeonce Legnon and Mary Agnes Stevens Legnon.

Pallbearers will be Chris Legnon, Kevin Polito, Lawrence Luke Jr., Marshall Legnon, Patrick Legnon and Ernest Romero Jr.

Honorary pallbearers are Larry Legnon, Danny Dupre and Russel Legnon.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert’s Mortuary, Inc. of Franklin.

CHRIS MARTIN

Chris M. Martin, 55, a native of Franklin and a resident of Centerville, died Saturday, September 6, 2008, at 8:48 p.m., at his residence.

Chris is survived by his son, Beau Martin and his wife, Vicki, of Centerville; his daughter, Kristen M. Landry and her husband, Randy Jr., of Franklin; his father, Frank Martin Jr. of Centerville; two sisters, Connie M. Fournet and her husband, Louis, of Centerville and Marianne Martin of Centerville; and two grandsons, Beau Martin Jr. and Reed Martin, both of Centerville.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Savannah Crouchet Martin; and his former wife, Alice Nesom Martin.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed Tuesday, Sept. 9, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., at Ibert’s Mortuary, with the rosary being prayed at 7 p.m.

Visiting will resume Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Centerville, from 12 noon until Mass time.

Chris was devoted to his family and loved his job at Louisiana Machinery in Amelia, of which he worked for 30 years.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Chris’ caregivers, Nancy Boudreaux, Tessa Williams, Rebecca Evans and Ginger Jones, as well as to Dr. Donna Tesi for her friendship and care.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held Wednesday, Sept. 10, at 2 p.m., at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Centerville. Burial will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery. Father Thomas Habetz will officiate the services.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert’s Mortuary, Inc. of Franklin.

LILLIAN W. MARTIN

Lillian Washington Martin, 96, a resident of Morgan City and a native of Lake Charles, died Friday, May 7, 2010 at Teche Regional Medical, at 3:20 a.m.

The visitation will take place Friday, May 14 at Walmsley United Methodist Church in Morgan City, from 9 a.m. until funeral at 11 a.m. The burial will be held at the Providence Memorial Park, 8200 Airline Dr. in Metairie.

Lillian leaves to cherish her memories a son, Emmett (Linda) Washington of Allen, Texas ; a daughter, Mrs. Wanda (Cornel) Keeler of Morgan City; a brother, Earl Washington of Sacramento, CA; and two sisters, Thelma Smith of Morgan City and Mrs. Betty (Frank) Caudle of Channelview, TX; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.

CARMEN P. MAZONE

Mrs. Carmen Phillips Mazone, 68, a resident of Palmetto and native of New Orleans, died Wednesday, August 1, 2007, at 12:30 a.m., at Opelousas General Health Care following a short illness.

She is survived by one son, Charles J. Mazone of Opelousas; one brother, Alfred Phillips of California; two sisters, Mrs. Delores Reynolds of Baton Rouge and Mrs. Janice Doutherd of Charenton; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Visitations will be observed Thursday, July 9, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., at the Otis Mortuary in Franklin.

Burial rites will be read Thursday, at 11 a.m., at the mortuary. The Rev. James F. Otis will officiate. interment will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery, 1262 Bobtown Road in Charenton.

The Otis Mortuary of Franklin is in charge of preparations.

DELAWARE MITCHELL

Ms. Delaware Mitchell, 66, a resident and native of Franklin, died Saturday, Oct. 13, 2007, at 3:10 p.m., at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Lafayette following a short illness.

She is survived by one son, Steve Edwin Mitchell of Baldwin; two brothers, Ulysses Mitchell Sr. and Rev. John C. Mitchell, both of Franklin; one sister, Mrs. Curley Rankins of Franklin; and one grandson, Steve Edwin Small and his fiancee Mary L. Key of Franklin.

Visitations will be observed Friday, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Otis Mortuary Chapel.

Burial rites will be read Friday, at 1 p.m., at the mortuary. The Rev. Ulysses Mitchell Jr. will officiate. interment will follow in the Charity Baptist Church Cemetery.

The Otis Mortuary of Franklin is in charge of preparations.

DARRELL MITCHELL

Mr. Darrell J. Mitchell, 57, a resident of Bayou Vista and native of Glencoe, died Thursday, November 23, 2010, at 10:15 p.m., at his residence following a short illness.

He is survived by one brother, Jay Mitchell of Glencoe; and two sisters, Wilhelmina Mitchell Maze of Morgan City and Gwendolyn Mitchell of Glencoe.

Mr. Mitchell was preceded in death by his parents.

Burial rites will be read Wednesday, Dec. 1, at 11 a.m., at the Otis Mortuary Chapel. interment will follow in the Saint Helen Cemetery in Louisa.

The Otis Mortuary of Franklin is in charge of preparations.

CLARENCE J. NAQUIN

Clarence Joseph Naquin, 92, a native and lifelong resident of Franklin, died Friday, June 1, 2007, at 12:25 a.m., at the Franklin Foundation Hospital.

Mr. Naquin was born October 12, 1914 to the late Rudolph Naquin and Agatha Olivier Naquin. He retired from Atlantic Richfield Oil Co. after 25 years of dedicated service. He enjoyed gardening and woodworking, but most of all, he treasured spending time with his wife, children and especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is survived by two sons, Lionel Joseph Naquin and his wife, Mary Ann, of Belle Rose; and Gary Paul Naquin Sr. and his wife, Ann, of Arnaudville; three daughters, Linda Rae Naquin Duke of Morgan City; Jo Ann Naquin Rogers and her husband, Alvin, of Franklin; and Donna Naquin Haydel and her husband, Paul, of Franklin; two sisters, Eloise Tutela of Franklin and Leola Watkins of New Iberia; 16 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and his dedicated caregivers, Northa Lee Holmes and Clara Starkes.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Naquin was preceded in death by his wife, Odette Simoneaux Naquin; two brothers, Sterling and Murphy Naquin; and one son-in-law, Michael Duke.

The family requested that visiting hours be observed Monday, June 4, at the Church of the Assumption, from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., with the rosary being prayed at 12 noon.

A Mass of Christian burial was held Monday, at 1 p.m., at the Church of the Assumption. interment followed in the Perpetual Park Cemetery. Father Lloyd Benoit officiated the services.

Pallbearers were Devon Derouen, Scott Haydel, David Rogers, Gary Naquin Jr., Cody Naquin, Paul Chauvin and Russ Guidry.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert’s Mortuary, Inc. of Franklin.
