LORRAINE L. NAQUIN

June 28, 1930 ~ Oct. 26, 2010

Mrs. Lorraine Landry Naquin, 80, a native of Patoutville, a former resident of Baldwin, and a current resident of Lafayette, died Tuesday, October 26, 2010, at 9:45 a.m., at the Riveroaks Manor.

Mrs. Lorraine is survived by two sons, Michael Naquin and his wife, Angela, of Covington and Troy Naquin and his wife, Roslyn, of Scott; her daughter, Brenda LeBlanc and her husband, Charles, of Lafayette; one brother, Melvin Landry of Lydia; one sister, Gretna Borel of Lydia; four grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Paul Naquin; her parents, Agrical and Octavia Landry; one brother, Alvin Landry; two sisters, Vivian Guillotte and Violet Hebert.

The family requests that visitation be observed Thursday, Oct. 28, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., with a rosary being prayed at 7 p.m., at Ibert’s Mortuary, Inc. of Franklin. Visitation will resume Friday, Oct. 29, at 9 a.m. until time of services at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Baldwin.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, Oct. 29, at 11 a.m., at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, with Father Greg Cormier officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of Acadiana, https://hospiceacadiana.com/.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert’s Mortuary, Inc. of Franklin.

PHILIP F. NEAU

Philip F. Neau, loving husband, father and teacher, a native of Warrenton, Virginia, and a resident of West St. Mary Parish for the past 27 years, died Thursday, May 31, 2007, at 3:25 p.m., at Franklin Foundation Hospital.

Mr. Neau was a librarian and teacher for 37 years, 27 years in St. Mary Parish, most recently at Centerville High School. He was also a long time member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Baldwin, involved over the years in adult faith formation and evangelization.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Kathrine A. "Katy" Neau; his children, Patrick A. Neau of Franklin, Sarah J. Neau of Baton Rouge, David B. Neau and his wife, Casey, of Baton Rouge, and Matthew P. Neau of Lafayette, Indiana; his grandchildren, Daniel and Andrew Neau, both of Baton Rouge; his mother, Judson Neau of Plainview, Minnesota; brothers, Steven Neau of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Gregory Neau of Plainview, Minnesota; sisters, Theresa N. Champion of Ypsilanti, Michigan, Patricia N. Wyngaert of Midwest, Oklahoma , Michelle N. Czupinski of Ypsilanti, Michigan and Barbara N. Ferk of Plainview, Minnesota; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Mr. Neau was preceded in death by two sons, Dennis Neau (infant) and Peter M. Neau; his father, Oakley Neau; and two brothers, Oakley Neau Jr. (infant) and Robert Neau.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed Tuesday, June 5 at Ibert’s Mortuary, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., with the rosary being prayed at 7 p.m. Visiting will resume Wednesday at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Baldwin at 10 a.m. until Mass time.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held Wednesday, at 11 a.m., at the church, with Father Gregory Cormier officiating. interment will follow in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Maryknoll Fathers and Brothers, P.O. Box 302, Maryknoll, NY 10545-9913 or to National Life Center, Inc., 686 North Broad St., Woodbury, NJ 08096.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert’s Mortuary, Inc. of Franklin.

WILLIAM PERRY JR.

William R. (Bill) Perry Jr., 56, a resident of Morgan City and a native of Baldwin, died Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at Leonard Chabert Medical Center in Houma.

Visitations will be from 10 a.m. until funeral time at 1p.m. at the Church of Christ on Railroad Ave. in Morgan City on Saturday, July 18.

Bill is fondly remembered and survived by his wife of 9 years, Cheryl Perry of Morgan City; two sons, Tony (Traneeka) Escort Perry of Dallas, Texas and Roland (Deatrice) Parsons of Houston, Texas ; one daughter, Mrs. Greg (Krizia) Cowans of Houston; and a brother, Bruce Perry of Houston; two grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Jones Funeral Home of Morgan City is in charge of arrangements.

FRED D. RANDLE SR.

Mr. Fred "Chucky" D. Randle Sr., 64, a resident and native of Baldwin, died Wednesday, May 23, 2007, at 8:03 a.m., at Franklin Foundation Hospital following a short illness.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mercy Lee Randle of Baldwin; two sons, Fred Randle Jr. (Kentra) of Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Andrew Randle (Chental) of Jeanerette; seven brothers, Nathaniel Randle (Alberta) of Franklin, Joseph Randle (Myrtle) of Houston, Texas , Harold Randle (Sandra) of Verdunville, Henry Randle of Seattle, Washington , Charles Randle (May Gloria) of Lake Charles, Eugene Randle (Alice) and Jules Randle (Bernice), both of Baldwin; three sisters, Mrs. JoAnn Collins of Seattle, Mrs. Hilda Mitchell (Wayne) and Ms. Barbara Randle, both of Charenton; and two grandchildren.

Mr. Randle was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter and two brothers.

Visitations will be observed Saturday, June 2, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Otis Mortuary in Franklin.

Burial rites will be read Saturday, at 1 p.m., at the mortuary. The Rev. Willie Jackson Sr. will officiate. interment will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery, 1262 Bobtown Rd., in Charenton.

The Otis Mortuary of Franklin is in charge of preparations.

SALLY RANDLE

Sally Randle, 83, a resident of Berwick and native of Franklin, died Monday, May 28, 2007, at 11:30 a.m., at Teche Regional Medical Center in Morgan City following a long illness.

She is survived by her spouse, James Randle of Berwick; one son, Ralph Randle of Houston, Texas ; three daughters, Maxine Johnson of Bryant, Texas , Lorraine Gantt and Almetria Gantt, both of Houston; and 17 grandchildren.

Mrs. Randle was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Maude Parkand- Smith; and one son, Kerry Renthrope Sr.

Visitation will be observed Saturday, June 2, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., at the St. John Baptist Church in Berwick.

Funeral rites will be read Saturday, at 11 a.m., at that church. interment will follow in the Berwick Cemetery.

The Jones Funeral Home, Inc. of Morgan City is in charge of arrangements.

ELISKA P. RICE

Mrs. Eliska Prosper Decuir Rice, 100, a native of Loreauville and a resident of Franklin for the past 64 years, died Saturday, June 30, 2007 at her residence.

The family requests that visitation be observed Tuesday, July 3, 2007, at 9 a.m., until time of services at the Church of the Assumption with a rosary being prayed at 10 a.m.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held Tuesday, at 11 a.m., at the Church of the Assumption, with Father Lloyd Benoit officiating the services. Burial will follow in the Franklin Cemetery.

Mrs. Rice is survived by two sons, Emick Bernard Decuir and his wife, Louise, of Galliano and Joseph Murphy Decuir of Beaumont, Texas ; four daughters, Doris Decuir Giroir of Franklin; Peggy Decuir Borel and her husband, Emile, of South Carolina; Wilda Decuir Cali and her husband, Frank, of Patterson; and Mildred Decuir Thibodeaux of Lydia; 26 grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren; and 24 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Emile Jack Decuir; her second husband, Gerald Rice; her father, Leonce Prosper; her mother, Cecile Granger Prosper; one son, Martin Guy Decuir; two daughters, Dorothy Decuir Robicheaux and Regina Decuir Prevost; three brothers, Soule Prosper, Adeluce Prosper and Lawrence Prosper; and two sisters, Rosa Prosper Broussard and Lourance Prosper Banas.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert's Mortuary, Inc. of Franklin.

James Risher

Funeral services for James Theodore Risher will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, June 5, 2007, in the First United Methodist Church in Alexandria, with the Dr. Tim Neustifter, Dr. Henry Blount and Rev. Ray Wells officiating. interment will be in the Methodist Cemetery, Pineville, under the direction of John Kramer & Son.

James Theodore Risher, 80, died in his home on June 3, 2007. He was born on Dec. 7, 1926, in New Orleans to Harry Lee Risher and Gertrude P. Risher. He was married to Maunette Barrow on Oct. 6, 1947, and they moved in 1954 to Franklin, Louisiana , and then to Alexandria, Louisiana , in 1994.

Mr. Risher is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Maunette Barrow Risher of Alexandria; two sons, Greg Risher and wife, Roane, of Houma, and Owen Risher and wife, Julie, of Lafayette; one daughter, Ann Deshotels and husband, Dr. Don Deshotels, of Alexandria; eight grandchildren, Steven Risher and wife, Stephanie, and David Risher, all of Houma; Suzanne Risher Lafleur and husband, Dr. Glenn Lafleur, Katie Risher and Mark Risher, all of Lafayette; Kimberly Deshotels and Matthew Deshotels of Alexandria, and Jamie Deshotels Pucheu and husband, Philippe, of Baton Rouge; and three great-grandchildren, Allison and Megan Risher of Houma and Noah Lafleur of Lafayette. He is also survived by his brother, C.J. Risher and wife, Gloria, of Destin, Florida.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Risher was preceded in death by one brother, Harry Lee Risher Jr.

Mr. Risher was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served during World War II on the USS Cummings in the Pacific. He retired from South Central Bell in Franklin after 30 years of service and was a member of both civic (president, Franklin Lions Club) and youth baseball organizations (president of Teche Little League). He was also a member of civic and church organizations in Alexandria through the First United Methodist Church.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Steven Risher, Mark Risher, David Risher and Matthew Deshotels, and Dr. Glenn Lafleur and Philippe Pucheu. Honorary pallbearers will be Alcide "Buck" Trahan and Lee "Sonny" Portwood.

The family requests memorials be sent to the First United Methodist Church of Alexandria, 2727 Jackson St., Alexandria, LA 71301; St. Joseph’s Hospice of Cenla, 716 Versailles Blvd., Alexandria, LA 71303, or to The Friendship House of Alexandria, P. O. Box 1014, Alexandria, LA 71307.

His family would also like to extend their sincerest thanks and appreciation to the staff of St. Joseph’s Hospice of Cenla, Dr. John Sams, Mr. Henry Fields and Mr. Erving Fields for their personal care given to Mr. Risher during his time of need.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 5, 2007, at the First United Methodist Church in Alexandria, from noon to 2 p.m.

PHILIP J. RODRIGUEZ

Mr. Philip J. Rodriguez, 67, a native of Franklin and lifelong resident of Ashton, died Tuesday, June 12, 2007, at 3:58 p.m., at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Lafayette.

The family requests that visitation be observed Thursday, June 14, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Baldwin, with a rosary being prayed at 1 p.m.

A Mass of Christian burial will he held Thursday, at 2 p.m., at the church, with Fr. Gregory Cormier officiating the Mass. interment will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Mr. Philip is survived by his wife of 43 years, Elaine Barrilleaux Rodriguez of Ashton; three sons, Lance Rodriguez and his wife, Carmen, of Baton Rouge; Curt Rodriguez and his wife, Lisa, of Franklin; and Anthony Rodriguez and his fiancée, Kelly Donham, both of Ashton; three daughters, Natalie Rodriguez and her fiancé, Blane Gianfala, both of Baldwin; Stephanie Clement and her husband, Trey, of Ashton; and Nicole Rodriguez of New York. NY; three brothers, Daniel Rodriguez of Ashton, Ray

Rodriguez of Centerville and Rene Rodriguez of Ashton; three sisters, Juliet Peterson, Rhena LaGrange and Darlene Concienne, all of Ashton; nine grandchildren, Emily, Ellen and Elise Clement, all of Ashton, Valerie, Katelyn and Lance Michael Rodriguez, all of Baton Rouge, Logan and Riley Rodriguez, both of Franklin and Bailey Gianfala of Baldwin.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rene Rodriguez and Hazel Bodin Rodriguez Dumesnil; and one brother, Gerard Dumesnil.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert's Mortuary, Inc. of Franklin.
