BABY ELLEN HONORE

A Homegoing Celebration for Baby Ellen “Tight” Honore, 63, the former Baby Ellen Jones, also known as “Ella,” will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 27, 2009 at Journet and Bolden Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor James Washington Jr. will be officiating.

interment will be in St. Matthew Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 7 a.m. at the funeral home chapel until time of service.

Ellen was a native of New Iberia where she spent most of her life but was a resident of Jeanerette for the past four years.

Ellen peacefully Passed away on Monday, June 15, 2009 in New Iberia, with her family at her side.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilson Honore Jr.; mother, Matilda Jones; a son, David Honore; two sisters, Flora Lee Jones and Matilda Jones; one grandson, Wilson Honore, IV and her godmother, Mary Jones Cola.

Ellen is survived by her father, Clarence Jones Sr. and his companion, Barbara; five sons, Wilson (Wilona) Honore, III and Tarie Jones both of Jeanerette, Michael Honore of New Haven, CT, Terry Honore, and Tyrail Gilliam, both of New Iberia; three daughters, Ella M. Day of New Iberia, Quanisha Honore and Tynisha Honore both of Jeanerette; two grandchildren she reared as her own, LaToya (Quantrelle) Daye-Allen and Derek Williams, both of New Iberia; nine siblings, Norris (Francis) Benjamin Sr., Junius (Dorothy) Jones, Clarence (Linda) Jones, Sylvio Jones, Ernest Jones, Hilda (Joseph) Evans, Mary McDaniel, and Anna Jones, all of New Iberia, and Junious (Georgiana) George Sr. of Sorrell; 18 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews other relatives, friends and the children she reared as a foster parent for eight years.

Active Pallbearers will be Michael Honore Jr., Torrance Benjamin, Larry Collins, Edward Dorsey, David George, Thalamus Gardner, Carl Fusilier and Shawn Benjamin

Arrangements entrusted to Journet and Bolden Funeral Home, 711 S. Corinne Street, New Iberia, La 337-369-3638.

THOMAS HOLMES SR.

Mr. Thomas Holmes Sr., 79, a resident of Charenton and native of Eunice, died Saturday, July 18, 2009, at 5:30 a.m., at Iberia Medical Center in New Iberia following a short illness.

He is survived by his wife, Northa Lee Collins Holmes of Franklin; three sons, Donald Ray Holmes and Darren Holmes of Baldwin and Quenton Holmes of Dallas, Texas ; two daughters, Marilyn Holmes Smith of Baldwin and Brenda Holmes Bell of San Antonio, Texas ; one brother, Theodore Holmes of Port Washington , New York; one sister, Carrie Williams of Shriever; 22 grandchildren; and 41 great grandchildren.

Mr. Holmes was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, one son, two grandchildren, two sisters and one brother.

Visitations will be observed Friday, July 24, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., at the Special Providence Baptist Church in Baldwin.

Burial rites will be read Friday, at 11 a.m., at that church, with the Rev. W.J. Otis officiating. interment will follow in the Special Providence Baptist Church Cemetery.

The Otis Mortuary of Franklin is in charge of preparations.

THADDEUS HILL

Thaddeus Hill, 59, a resident and native of Patterson, died Saturday, August 14, 2010, at 2:06 a.m., at Patterson Health Care.

Visitation will take place at New Salem Baptist Church in Patterson Saturday, August 21, from 10 a.m. until funeral service at 1 p.m. Burial will follow in the Shield Cemetery in Patterson.

Thad was a maintenance man for the St. Mary Parish School Board.

Thad leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Hilda Thomas Hill of Patterson; five stepsons, Leroy Hawkins Jr. of Jeanerette, Nathaniel Hawkins, Dylan Hawkins and Kelsey Hawkins, all of Franklin, and Patrick Hawkins of Magnolia, MS; two daughters, Delicia Hill of Thibodaux and Denise Thubbs of Oklahoma ; four stepdaughters, Veronica Jones of Morgan City, Kathleen Hawkins of Centerville, Sheryl Wash and Willona Hawkins, both of Franklin; two brothers, Clarence Watson of Patterson and Wayne Lewis of New Orleans; two sisters, Ruth Hamilton of Patterson and Anastine Cooper of Rasapass, TX; 30 grandchildren four great grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.

Jones Funeral Home of Morgan City is in charge of arrangements.

JOHNNY LEE HESTER SR.

Johnny Lee Hester Sr. Passed away Sunday, February 6, 2011, in San Antonio, Texas . Johnny was born April 17, 1930, in Claireville, Texas to Buster and Ruby Ford Hester.

Mr. Hester was a US Army Ranger and served his country during the Korean War. He worked for Trunkline Gas Company. Mr. Hester was very active in numerous organizations which included Beeville Masonic Lodge #261, he was a 32nd Degree Mason, Al Amin Shrine Temple, Scottish Rite of Free Masonary, Grand Royal Arch Chapter of Texas , CASHAN Order of Supreme Council M.O.V.P.E.R., and Beeville Chapter-Eastern Star #432. He belonged to the Church of Christ in Beeville, Texas .

Johnny married Doris Jean Perkins March 14, 1953 in Beeville, Texas . He is survived by his wife, Doris of Beeville; sons, Johnny Lee Hester Jr. and wife, Chris, of Lafayette and John David Hester of Keenesaw, Georgia; daughter, Patricia Diane Smith of Houston, Texas ; grandchildren, Brooke Elizabeth Strait, Amy Catherine Hester, Chad Alan Guidry, Austin Hester, Evan Hester and Adrian Hester; great grandchildren, Cooper Strait, Brady Hester and Tristan Guidry; and a sister Ruby Joyce Murrell of Tuleta, Texas .

Visitation will be Thursday, February 10, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m., at Galloway & Sons Chapel, with an Eastern Star Service to begin at 7 p.m. A graveside service will be held on Monday, February 14 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas , at 1:45 p.m., with Full Military Honors.

Galloway & Sons Funeral Home 409 N. Tyler St., Beeville, Texas 78102 is in charge of arrangements.

ALFREDA HENDERSON

Alfreda Henderson, 80, a resident and native of Patterson, died Sunday, January 20, 2008, at 7:20 p.m., at the Patterson Health Care Center following a short illness.

She is survived by her caregiver, Carolyn Edwards of Patterson; four nieces; four nephews; and a host of relatives and friends.

Ms. Henderson was preceded in death by six sisters and two brothers.

Visitation will be observed Friday, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., at St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Funeral rites will be read Friday, at 11 a.m., at that church, with Father Louis Vu officiating. interment will follow in the Patterson Industrial Cemetery.

The Jones Funeral Home, Inc. of Morgan City is in charge of arrangements.

SHIRLEY HEBERT

Shirley Bourdier Senette Hebert, 88, a native of Patterson and longtime resident of Franklin, Passed away on Monday, June 22, 2009, at 3:30 p.m., at Franklin Foundation Hospital.

Miss Shirley is survived by two sons, Douglas John Senette Jr. and his wife, Felicia, of St. Francisville and Thomas C. Senette and his wife, Bessie, of Lafayette; five grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Douglas John Senette Sr.; her second husband, Michel Hebert Sr.; her parents, Oscar J. Bourdier Sr. and Zoe Bourgeois Bourdier King; one brother, Oscar J. Bourdier Jr.; and one sister, Frances B. Johnson .

The family requests that visiting hours be observed Thursday, June 25 at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church from 9 a.m. until time of service.

The Requiem Eucharist will be celebrated Thursday, at 11 a.m., at the church. Officiating the services will be the Rt. Rev. Charles Jenkins and the Rev. Francis Daunt. Burial will follow in the Franklin Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to St. Mary’s Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 95, Franklin, La. 70538.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert’s Mortuary, Inc., 1007 Main St., Franklin.

DANA BAYNE HEBERT

Oct. 27, 1959 ~ April 17, 2010

Dana Bayne Hebert, 50, a native and lifelong resident of Franklin, Passed away Saturday, April 17, 2010 at his mother’s home in Franklin.

He is survived by his mother, Florence F. Hebert of Franklin; his close friend, Rod Latiolais of Lafayette; and his beloved Yorkshire terrier, Misti. He was preceded in death by his father, Dennis M. Hebert.

Dana served on the Board of Adjustments for the City of Franklin until stepping down due to health problems and was a member of the Humane Society. He was also a supporter of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the National Seelos Shrine in New Orleans, the Louisiana State Police Assoc., the North Cheyenne and Crow Indian Children of St. Labre, as well as to amfAR (The Foundation for AIDS Research).

Ms. Florence would like to thank their caregiver, Christine Thomas; her neighbor, Mary Frye; Debbie with St. Mary Mental Health, Mr. Dave Watson, Jermain Thomas, and Hal Titus and Colby Meyers with Acadian Ambulance.

Memorial visitation will be held Friday, April 30 at the Church of the Assumption, from 10 a.m. until Mass time. A memorial Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday, at 12 p.m., at the church. Father Thomas Vu will conduct the services. Inurnment will follow in the Perpetual Park Cemetery.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert’s Mortuary, Inc. of Franklin.

BELDON HEBERT JR.

Beldon Hebert Jr., 80, a native and lifelong resident of Franklin, died Wednesday, July 29, 2010, at 8:13 p.m., at Franklin Foundation Hospital.

The family requests that visitation be observed Friday, July 30, from 9 a.m. until time of services at the Church of the Assumption, with a rosary being prayed at 10:15 a.m.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, July 30, at 11 a.m., at the Church of Assumption, with Father Lloyd Benoit officiating. Burial will follow in the Franklin Cemetery.

Beldon is survived by his brother, Malcolm Hebert of Franklin; two sisters, Betty Falterman and her husband, Gerald, of Franklin, and Vuearlee Rogers and her husband, Uric, of Franklin; his sister-in-law, Anna Hebert of Franklin; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Beldon and May Martin Hebert; his brother, Olden Hebert; and his sister, Joyce Mayea.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert’s Mortuary, Inc. of Franklin.

Hilda Catherine Ardeneaux Haydel

July 31, 1922–October 29, 2010

Mrs. Hilda Catherine Ardeanux Haydel, 88, a native and lifelong resident of Franklin died, Friday, October 29, 2010 at the Franklin Health Care Center.

Mrs. Hilda is survived by her son, Oren L. ‘Bubbie’ Haydel Jr. and his wife, Lillian, of Franklin; three daughters, Jeanette A. Haydel of Garden City, Paget E. Lasseigne of Youngsville, and Ruby ‘Ruthie’ Haydel of Franklin; six grandchildren, Shermie Hebert, Chad Lucas, Troy Lucas, Shade Ratcliff, Tracy Troxclair, and Oren L. ‘T-Bub’ Haydel III; 14 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Oren L. ‘Bubba’ Haydel Sr.; her parents, Willie and Cora Ardeneaux; four brothers, Oscar Ardeneaux, Alex Ardeneaux, Dudley Ardeneaux, and Cornelius Ardeneaux Sr.; five sisters, Elizabeth Ward, Mildred Millet, Margaret Payne, Dot Stadler, and Victoria Hargis; and one granddaughter, Rachel Ratcliff.

The family requests that visitation be observed Monday, November 1, 2010 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Church of the Assumption in Franklin with a rosary being prayed at 12 p.m.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held Monday, November 1, 2010 at 1 p.m. at the Church of the Assumption with Father Billy Ruskoski officiating the services. Burial will follow in the Franklin Cemetery.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert’s Mortuary, Inc. of Franklin, Louisiana 70538.
