AUDREY DRAYTON

Audrey Drayton, 62, a resident and native of Patterson, died Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2009 at Leonard Chabert Medical Center in Houma, at 2:35 a.m.

She was an employee of Patterson Healthcare.

Visitation will be at Good Hope

Baptist Church in Patterson Saturday, Sept. 25th, from 10 a.m. until funeral services at 3 p.m. Burial will follow in the Patterson Memorial Cemetery.

Audrey leaves to cherish her memories, her husband, Joseph Drayton of Patterson; stepmother, Beatrice Butler of Austin, Texas ; a son, Stanley Drayton of Austin, Texas ; a daughter, Mrs. Donald (Cynthia) Bennett of Patterson; two brothers, Lawrence Butler of Texas and James Butler of Austin, Texas ; three sisters, Mrs. Larry (Carol) Jones of Patterson, Mrs. Daniel (Betty) Paul of Morgan City and Joyce Butler of Texas ; three grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father; stepfather; and a sister.

Jones funeral home of Morgan City is in charge of arrangements.

SHIRLEY DOMINGUE

Ms. Shirley Moore Domingue, 72, a resident of Rockville, Maryland and native of Franklin, died Wednesday, January 19, 2011, at 9:45 a.m., at her residence following a short illness.

She is survived by two sons, Christopher John Domingue (wife, Geneva) of Cypress, Texas and Rev. Kevin Mark Domingue (wife, Reese) of Rockville, Maryland; three daughters, Ms. Monica Shenette Domingue of Clarksburg, Maryland, Ms. Allegra Shawn Domingue of Gaithersburg, Maryland and Mrs. Julia Dionne Thomas (husband, Derrick Sr.) of Rockville; two brothers, George Moore Sr. of Houston, Texas and Kenneth Moore of New York, New York; two sisters, Mrs. Lillian Moore Johnson of Franklin and Mrs. Matilda Moore Davis of Houston; 13 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.

Mrs. Domingue was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred Moore Sr. of Franklin and Mrs. Georgia Pitson Madison of Franklin; two brothers and one sister.

Visitations will be observed Tuesday, Jan. 25, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Otis Mortuary, 501 Willow St.

Burial rites will be read Tuesday, at 1 p.m., at the mortuary chapel, with the Rev. Kevin Domingue of the First Baptist Church in Rockville officiating.

The Otis Mortuary of Franklin is in charge of preparations.

THAO VAN DOAN

Mr. Thao Van Doan, 77, a native of Vietnam and a resident of Dallas, TX died Tuesday, March 6, 2007 at the Trinity Medical Center.

He is survived by three sons, Binh Doan and his wife, Nhuong Binh, of Pensacola, FL., Nhi Doan and Minh Doan, both of Dallas; one daughter, Hoa Doan and her husband, Henry Hoang, of Dallas; one grandson, Phi Hoang of Dallas; and one granddaughter, My Trang Hoang, also of Dallas.

Prayer services were held Saturday and Sunday from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Ibert’s Mortuary in Franklin.

A Mass of Christian burial was held Monday, March 12, at 11 a.m., at the St. Helen’s Catholic Church, with the Rev. Thanh officiating the services. Burial followed in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Baldwin.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert’s Mortuary, Inc. of Franklin.

DESIREE G. DENBY

Funeral services for Desiree Gibson Denby, 44, of Huntington, Texas was held Sunday, February 14, 2010, at 11:30 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin, with Father James Kalliath officiating. interment followed in the Whitehouse Cemetery.

A rosary for Mrs. Denby was recited Saturday, February 13, at 7 p.m., in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel.

Mrs. Denby was born May 26, 1965, in Franklin and she died Thursday, February 11, 2010 in a Lufkin hospital.

Mrs. Denby was a homemaker and a beloved wife of 24 years, mother, daughter and sister. She enjoyed gardening, working with stained glass, making quilts, cooking and baking. She especially loved being with her family and friends. Mrs. Denby was a member of St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church and had resided in Angelina County for the past 20 years.

Survivors include her husband, Gary Denby of Huntington; daughter, Ariana Denby of Huntington; son, Colby Denby of Huntington; mother and stepfather, Gail and James Simpson of Centerville; father and stepmother, Bobby Joe Sr. and Willa Gibson of Baldwin; sister, Kathy Latiolais of Franklin; brother, Bobby Joe Gibson Jr., of Lafayette; as well as a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and an abundance of close friends.

Mrs. Denby was preceded in death by her daughter, Marissa Denby.

Pallbearers were Don Wankan, Wesley Pace, Jason Bosley, Bo Burgess, Dean Mosley and Jimmy Due.

Honorary pallbearers were Aaron Latiolais and Jacob Mosley.

The family welcomed friends and loved ones from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Saturday evening at the funeral home.

Carroway Funeral Home of Lufkin, Texas , directors, were in charge of arrangements.

ALLEN DARNELL SR.

Allen Lewis Darnell Sr., 88, a native of Patterson and a resident of Houston, TX, died Friday morning April 30, 2010 at Cypress Fairbanks Medical Center in Houston, TX at 7:35 a.m.

The visitation will take place on Saturday, May 8 at Good Hope Baptist Church, 908 Washington St., Patterson, from 9 a.m. until funeral service at 11 a.m. interment will follow in the Patterson Memorial Cemetery.

Allen is survived by a host of relatives and friends.

Jones Funeral Home in Morgan City is in charge of arrangements.

GLENN EDWARD DARDEN

Sept. 29, 1964 ~ Oct. 13, 2010

A Memorial Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday, October 16, 2010, at 12 p.m., at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Charenton for Glenn Edward Darden, 46, a native of Shreveport and a longtime resident of Charenton, who Passed away Wednesday, October 13, 2010, at 5 p.m., at Iberia Medical Center following a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer.

Inurnment will follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery Mausoleum. Father William Crumley will officiate the services.

Glenn was a great family man. His time off was spent camping, hunting and fishing with his family. He was part owner and worked for Four Seasons Furniture and Appliance Store for 32 years. Glenn would often provide service work to veterans in thanks for their service to our country.

Survivors include his loving wife of 20 years, Monique Mabile Darden; four children, Grant Edward Allen Darden, Gabriella Monique Darden, McKaila Christine Darden and Marlena Renee Darden; his parents, Dan Darden and Rita Bodin Darden; one sister, Susan Darden Deslatte and her husband, Royce; three brothers, Danny Darden and his wife, Jennifer, Anthony Darden and his wife, Nola and Patrick Darden; three sisters-in-law, Belinda C. Darden, Minnette M. Tafoya and her husband, Gerald, and Laney M. Bodin and her husband, Bryan; aunt and uncle, Sheryll and Del Smith; uncle, John Darden Sr.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Dennis Bodin Sr. and Laurence Hebert Bodin; his paternal grandparents, Bennett Ernest Darden and Berty Belle Story Darden; his father-in-law, Russell Mabile; and numerous aunts and uncles.

A gathering of family and friends will be held Saturday, October 16, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Charenton, from 9 a.m. until time of Mass.

STELLA LOUIS-DARBY

Stella W. Louis-Darby, 59, a resident of Franklin and a native of Centerville, died Monday, April 12, 2010, at 9:50 a.m., at her residence.

Visitation will be held Saturday, April 17, at Jones Funeral Home Chapel, 1101 Main St. Franklin, from 9 a.m. until funeral service at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in the New Providence Cemetery in Centerville.

Stella leaves to cherish her memories her husband, Louis Darby of Franklin; her mother, Mrs. Pearly Louis of Verdunville; a daughter, Gwenette Darby of Franklin; four brothers, Ronnie Louis of Baldwin, Irvin Louis of Centerville, Israel Washington Sr. of Franklin and Wesley Louis of St. Martinville; two sisters, Joyce Louis of Franklin and Grace L. James of New Iberia; and a host of relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Jones Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

FRANCES S. CULTER

Mrs. Frances Scherer Culter, 81, a native of Lake Providence, a longtime resident of Franklin, and a recent resident of Broussard, Passed away February 4, 2010, at 6:45 p.m., at Our Lady of Lourdes in Lafayette.

Mrs. Frances is survived by her sons, Charles Culter and his wife, Linda, both of Youngsville; Paul Culter of Baldwin; and Mark Culter and his fiancée, Myra Thibodeaux, both of Sulphur; two brothers, Robert Scherer of Houston, Texas and Louis Scherer of California; six grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Nevin Culter; her daughter, Brenda Chauvin; her two sons, Michael and John Culter; and her parents, Homer Scherer and Alice Marie Brown Scherer.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed Saturday, Feb. 6 at the First United Methodist Church in Franklin, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. Burial will follow in the Franklin Cemetery. The Rev. Sue Pugh will officiate the services.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert’s Mortuary, Inc. of Franklin.

HILDER E. CRACHAIN

Mrs. Hilder Edmond Crachain, 58, a resident and native of Baldwin, died Friday, August 17, 2007, at 9 p.m., at Franklin Foundation Hospital following a short illness.

She is survived by her mother, Emma Dell Collins Edmond of Charenton; one daughter, Tyra M. Conner of Baldwin; three brothers, Edward Edmond Jr., Gerald Edmond and Charles Ray Edmond of Charenton; three sisters, Effie M. Edmond, Gilder E. Williams and Christel A. Edmond of Charenton; and four grandchildren.

Mrs. Crachain was preceded in death by her father, one daughter and one son.

Visitations will be observed Saturday, Aug. 25, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Otis Mortuary Chapel in Franklin.

Burial rites will be read Saturday, at 1 p.m., at the mortuary. The Rev. Isabella Gasper will officiate. interment will follow in the St. John Cemetery in Charenton.

The Otis Mortuary of Franklin is in charge of preparations.
