GLENN R. WILKINS SR.
Mr. Glenn Ray Wilkins Sr., 62, a native of Wichita, Kansas and a resident of Franklin, died Monday, December 31, 2007, at 1:25 a.m., at Franklin Foundation Hospital.
The family requests that visitation be observed Thursday, January 3, 2008, from 1 p.m. until time of services at Ibert’s in Franklin.
Memorial services will be held Thursday, at 3 p.m., at Ibert’s, with the Rev. Kathryn Brand officiating the services. Burial will be held at a later date by the family.
Mr. Wilkins is survived by his son, Glenn Ray Wilkins Jr. of Houma; his fiancée, Sarah D. Sultan of Franklin; her children, Shazia Sultan and Tyler Sultan, both of Franklin; his parents, Rene Wilkins and Juanita Norris Wilkins of Wichita, Kansas; one brother, Gerald Wilkins and his wife, Patty, of Kansas City, Missouri; two sisters, Darlene Williams and her husband, Chris, of Austin, Texas and Rebecca Wynn and her husband, Mike, of Roswell, Georgia; a special nephew and friend, Jonah Serna of Franklin; nephews and nieces; and Snookums the cat.
Mr. Wilkins was a longtime employee for the Rowan Drilling Co., having over 38 years of dedicated service. Many years ago, Mr. Wilkins worked at Franklin Foundation Hospital.
He liked hunting, fishing, watching football games and cooking for both family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert’s Mortuary, Inc. of Franklin.
MARIA GUARISCO WIESE
Dec. 3, 1941 ~ March 2, 2010
Mrs. Maria Guarisco Wiese, 68, a native and lifelong resident of Patterson, died Tuesday, March 2, 2010, at 2:50 p.m., at the Teche Regional Medical Center in Morgan City.
Mrs. Maria is survived by her two daughters, Sabrina M. Wiese of Kenner and a special friend, Philip Blanchard of Labadieville, and Regina Wiese Wheeler and her husband, Christopher, of Patterson; one brother, Frank Guarisco of Patterson and wife, Joy B. Guarisco; one sister, Josie G. Moncada; and her sister-in-law, Barbara R. Guarisco of Patterson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William J. Wiese Jr.; her father, Sebastian “Frank” Guarisco; her mother, Josephine Domino Guarisco; one brother, Peter J. Guarisco; two sisters, Frances M. Guarisco and Mamie Anne Guarisco; and one brother-in-law, A.J. Moncada.
The family requests that visitation be observed Wednesday, March 3, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., at Ibert’s Mortuary in Patterson, with a rosary being prayed at 7 p.m. Visitation will resume on Thursday, March 4, at 9 a.m. until time of mass at 11 a.m.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, March 4, at 11 a.m., at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Patterson, with the Rev. Louis Vu. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Acting as pallbearers will be her nephews, Curt Guarisco, Glynn Guarisco, Wayne Guarisco, Nicholas Moncada, Frank Smoorenburg and Brad Wiese.
Mrs. Maria provided over 30 years of guidance and attentive care to numerous “Special Needs” students as a Para Professional/Teacher’s Aide for the St. Mary Parish School System. She was a very prayerful and devoted Catholic. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister and friend and will be greatly missed by all that were touched by her life.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert’s Mortuary, Inc. of Patterson.
IRMA H. WHITE
Mrs. Irma Hartman White , 90, a resident of Morgan City and native of Glenwild, La., died Thursday, Dec. 9, 2010, at 10:50 a.m., at her residence following a short illness.
She is survived by one son, John Robert White of Augusta, Georgia; three daughters, Patsy W. Powell, Julie W. Wilson and Debbie W. Favors, all of Morgan City; one brother, Matthew Hartman Jr. of Franklin; eight grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.
Mrs. White was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter and two sons.
Visitations will be observed Saturday, Dec. 18, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at New Zorah Baptist Church in Morgan City.
Burial rites will be read Saturday, at 1 p.m., at that church, with the Rev. Terry Joseph officiating. interment will follow in the Morgan City Cemetery.

MARGUERITE S. WEST
Marguerite Christine See West, 83, a loving wife, mother and sister, Passed away January 30, 2010, at 11:25 p.m., at her residence in Houston, Texas .
Marguerite was born December 6, 1926 in Franklin. In her early years she taught at Shannon Elementary School in Morgan City for eight years. After marrying her husband, Gene, they moved from Louisiana .
Mrs. West is survived by her husband of 54 years, David E. “Gene” West of Houston; one son, David Willis West of Dallas, Texas ; one daughter, Gretchen Christine West of Dallas; one sister, Marion Harris of Franklin; a cousin, Winnie Champagne of Franklin; two nieces, Anne Harris Wallace of Atlanta, Georgia and Willis Kingston Boroto of New Iberia; one nephew, Howard See Kingston; and numerous other cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father, Willis Leroy See; her mother, Bertha Christine Anderson; and one sister, Wilma Kingston.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed Wednesday, February 3 at the First United Methodist Church in Franklin, from 11 a.m. until time of service. Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. Burial will follow in the Franklin Cemetery. The Rev. Sue Pugh will officiate the services.
The family asks that memorial donations be made to your local SPCA.

GERTRUDE WELTRING
Gertrude Taquino Weltring Passed away in the loving arms of her daughter Debra and son-in-law Frank on Saturday, December 8, 2007, at the age of 93.
Gertrude was a native of Franklin and a long-time resident of New Orleans. She was residing in Independence with her daughter and son-in-law at the time of her death. Mimi touched the lives of many with her warm smile and laugh.
"Mimi," as she was affectionately known, is survived by her daughter, Debra Grass Impastato and her husband, Frank; two grandsons, Jason and Matthew Grass; her nephew, Audie Taquino of Morgan City; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, William A. Weltring; three sisters, Irma Dixon, Olie Bonin and Thelma Arceneaux; and three brothers, Randolph, Vernon and Claude Taquino.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 13, 2007, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Greenwood Funeral Home, 5200 Canal Boulevard, New Orleans (504) 486-0880.

JEANERETTE — Memorial services will be conducted for Rachel Margaret Weller, 19, on Wednesday, April 14, 2010, at 2:30 P.M., in the David Funeral Home Chapel, with Father Jody Simoneaux officiating. Inurnment will follow in St. John Mausoleum.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 14, from 1 p.m. until 2:30 p.m.
A native of Baton Rouge and a resident of Lake Charles, Rachel died on Saturday, April 10, 2010 at 8:07 a.m. from injuries received in an automobile accident in Estherwood, LA. She was employed with Pets Mart Stores in Baton Rouge and Lake Charles. She attended St. Louis King of France Elementary School and later attended Dutchtown High School where she was a member of the ROTC. She loved animals, reading, fishing, geology, fossils and just recently became interested in joining the Peace Corps. She also loved spending time with her friends.
She is survived by her parents, Timothy Lee and Jamie Landry Weller of Prairieville, LA; her brother, Lance Michael Weller of Prairieville; her uncles, Errol G. Landry and his wife, Emily, of Prairieville; Kerry M. Landry and his wife, Audrey; Kenneth K. Landry Sr. and his wife, Connie; David J. Landry and his wife, Grace, all of Jeanerette; and Ted William Weller and his wife, Mary, of Thibodeaux; her aunts, Felicia L. Marks and her husband, Ron, of Lafayette, Cindy Boudreaux of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Wendy W. Baker and her husband, Bill, of Labadieville; and numerous cousins.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, E.G. and Kathleen Landry; her paternal grandparents, Dr. R.F. and Loretta Weller; and her aunt, Charlotte Landry.

LEOLA P. WATSON
Mrs. Leola Prevost Watson, 97, a resident and native of Franklin, died Friday, April 2, 2010, at UCLA Harbor General Hospital in Torrance, California.
She is survived by one daughter, Lillie Watson Robinson of Carson, California; one stepdaughter, Ethel Mae Webber of the Bakertown community; one grandchild; and two great grandchildren.
Mrs. Watson was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister and three brothers.
Visitations will be observed Saturday, April 17, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, at the Triumph Baptist Church in Franklin.
Burial rites will be read Saturday, at noon, at that church, with the Rev. Clarence Stewart Sr. officiating. interment will follow in the Franklin Cemetery.

WANDA WALLS
Wanda Walls, 56, a native and resident of Franklin, died Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at Franklin Foundation Hospital at 8:26 p.m.
Visitation will be held at Jones Funeral Home in Franklin, Saturday, October 30, from 10 a.m. until funeral at 1 p.m. Burial will follow in the Franklin Cemetery.
Wanda leaves to cherish her memories two daughters, Chastity Robinson and Myeshia Robinson, both of Franklin; five brothers, William (Paula) Robinson, Charles Robinson, Edmond Robinson, Albert Robinson and Christopher (Aquilla) Robinson, all of Franklin; seven sisters, Dora Clark of Sioux City, Iowa, Mrs. Larry (Bessie) Kelly, Helen Clark and Mrs. Albert (Annie Bell) Green, Mrs. Floyd (Deloris) Polidore, Mrs. Ronald (Victoria) Williams and Gloria Robinson, all of Franklin; six grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
