Doris Mae Walker

Private memorial services will be held for Doris Walker, age 79, the former Doris Mae Rogers, who Passed away Sunday, August 5, 2007 at 11:45 p.m. at Louisiana Extended Acute Care in Lafayette.

Ms. Walker was a native of Franklin, and a resident of Carencro for over 15 years.

Survivors include two daughters, Patsy Lamaison Burley and her husband, Jimmy, of Youngsville, and Candice Walker Duhon and her husband, Allen, of Duson; three grandchildren, April Walker of Duson, Keith Burley and his wife, Haley, of Patterson, and Mark Burley and his fiance’. Jennifer, of Youngsville; four great grandchildren, Brandon Aldrich, Macy Walker, McKayla Burley, and Brielle Burley; and three brothers, Oray Rogers and his wife, Louise, of Franklin, LA, Ovay Rogers and his wife, Diane, of Berwick, and Uric Rogers and his wife, Vuearlee, of Franklin.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Connie Lamaison; her second husband, Bobby J. Walker; her parents, Whitney Rogers and the former Gladys Verret, both natives of Louisa; and one sister, Sadie Weathersby, and one brother Floyd Rogers..

The family would like to thank Maude, Beverly, Lillian, and Dottie, for the wonderful friends they were and also Lamm Home Health Service.

As per wishes of Doris, there will be no public viewing of the body.

ANN LEGE VINCENT

Jan. 8, 1955 ~ Jan. 20, 2011

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 22, 2011, at 2 p.m., at Ibert’s Mortuary for Ann Lege Vincent, 56, a native and resident of Franklin, who Passed away Thursday, January 20, 2011, at 11:25 a.m., at her home.

Ann enjoyed making bead jewelry, crocheting and cross-stitching.

Survivors include her husband of 36 years, Willis Paul Vincent of Franklin; two sons, Joseph Ewell Vincent and Jason Michael Vincent, both of Franklin; two brothers, Mark Lege of Abbeville and Roland Lege Sr. of Franklin; one sister, Brenda Lege Trimble of Mansfield; his godfather, John Greaux of Franklin; and one grandson, Charles Joseph Vincent of Franklin.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd John Lege and Gertrude Greaux Lege.

A gathering of family and friends will be held Saturday at Ibert’s Mortuary, from 10 a.m. until service time.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert’s Mortuary, Inc. of Franklin.

PEARLINE M. VILTZ

Mrs. Pearline Mitchell Viltz, 65, a resident and native of Franklin, died Thursday, December 16, 2010, at 11:56 a.m., at Iberia Medical Center following a short illness.

She is survived by her husband, Woodrow Viltz of Franklin; one brother, James Mitchell Jr. of San Diego, California; and two sisters, Rosa L. Wilson and Brenda M. Phillips of Franklin.

Mrs. Viltz was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitations will be observed Thursday, Dec. 23, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Triumph Baptist Church in Franklin.

Burial rites will be read Thursday, at 1 p.m., at that church, with the Rev. Clarence Stewart Sr. officiating. interment will follow in the St. John Cemetery in Franklin.

The Otis Mortuary of Franklin is in charge of preparations.

JOSEPH VERDUN SR.

Joseph Verdun, Sr., 88, died Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at his residence in Patterson.

Visitations will be Saturday, March 6 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Patterson, from 8 a.m. until funeral service at 10 a.m. interment will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Verdunville.

Joseph is survived by three sons, Joseph Ronnie (Claudette) Verdun Jr. and Kevin Verdun both of Patterson, and Guy (Elvina) Verdun of Bayou Vista; two daughters, Mrs. Michael (Lillian) Smith of Lafayette and Mrs. Ted (Bettye) Foulcard of Franklin; a sister, Joycea Mae Paul of Verdunville; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Mr. Verdun was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, two brothers and five sisters.

Jones Funeral Home of Morgan City is in charge of arrangements.

ELIZABETH VEEDER

Nov. 15, 1924 ~ May 8, 2010

A Mass of Christian burial will be held Wednesday, May 12, 2010, at 11 a.m., at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Charenton for Elizabeth Veeder, 85, a native and lifelong resident of Charenton, who Passed away Saturday, May 8, 2010, at 9:17 p.m., at the Franklin Health Care Center.

Miss Veeder is survived by her nephew/caregiver, Howard “Tony” Sinitiere Jr. and his wife, Janet, of Charenton; her four godchildren, Judith Meyn Weimer of Thibodaux, April Sinitiere Marquis of Geismar, John Edward Sinitiere of Houston, TX and Lauren Louise Sinitiere of New Iberia; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George Thomas Veeder Sr. and May Schwing Veeder; one brother, George Thomas Veeder Jr.; six sisters, Flora V. Curry, Ethel V. Hope, Lena Mae V. Sinitiere, Louise L. Veeder, Irene B. Boudreaux and Gertrude V. Meyn.

She enjoyed watching her soap operas, old movies and Lawrence Welk and loved to sing and recite poetry.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed Wednesday, May 12, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, from 9 a.m. until Mass time. Burial will follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery. Father Bill Crumley will conduct the services.

Pallbearers will be Howard “Tony” Sinitiere Jr., Thomas S. Sinitiere, David V. Sinitiere, H. John Sinitiere III, Donald Meyn and John E. Sinitiere.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, P.O. Box 278, Charenton, LA 70523.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Dr. Roland Degeyter and his staff, the staff of Franklin Health Care Center, the staff of Franklin Foundation Hospital and her former sitters, Jeanne Aucoin, Gloria Boudreaux, the late Delores “Dee Dee” Billiot and the late Augustine Hines, for the loving and compassionate care given to Miss Veeder.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert’s Mortuary, Inc. of Franklin.

DORIS VACCARELLA

November 1, 1925 - June 25, 2009

Doris Robicheaux Vaccarella, 83, a longtime resident of Franklin, died Thursday, June 25, 2009, at 5:50 a.m., at Franklin Foundation Hospital with her children by her side.

She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Vaccarella Mire and her husband, John, of Franklin; her son, Joseph J. Vaccarella Jr. and his wife, Collette, of Franklin; two brothers, Ray Robicheaux of Franklin and Eusebe Robicheaux of Stephensville; one sister, Theresa Robicheaux Foolkes of Plano, Texas ; five grandchildren, John E. Mire Jr., Tricia Mire Ancelet, Mindy Mire Lewis, Cecily Vaccarella and Jack Vaccarella; and eight great grandchildren, Courtland, Callie, Caroline and Claire Ancelet, Jed Mire and Maddy, Sarah and Matthew Lewis.

Mrs. Vaccarella was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph J. Vaccarella Sr.; her parents, Eusebe Robicheaux and Mae Miguez Robicheaux; and two sisters, Irene Robicheaux Slataper and Ella Robicheaux Polito.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed Saturday, June 27, from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m., at Ibert’s Mortuary, with the rosary being prayed at 7 p.m.

Visiting will continue Sunday at the mortuary at 9 a.m. until time of service.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 28, at 1 p.m., at Ibert’s Mortuary. Burial will follow in the Franklin Cemetery. Father Lloyd Benoit will officiate the services.

The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to Dr. Roland Degeyter, Franklin Health Care Center and her caregivers at Franklin Foundation Hospital for the wonderful care given to their mother.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert’s Mortuary, Inc., 1007 Main St., Franklin.

CASANDRA THOMPKINS

Casandra Dee Bradford Thompkins, 48, a resident and a native of Morgan City, died Saturday, June 19, 2010 at Teche Regional Medical Center at 10:34 p.m.

Visitation will be held at New Zorah Baptist Church in Morgan City Thursday, June 24, from 10 a.m. until funeral service at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at the Morgan City Cemetery.

Casandra is survived by a son, Sherman Thompkins of Morgan City; two daughters, Rachel Thompkins and April Thompkins, both of Morgan City; four brothers, Jessie Wayne Bradford of Lafayette, Carl Don Bradford of Patterson, Floyd Bradford and Malcolm Bradford, both of Morgan City; one sister, Wanda Ealine Bradford of Morgan City; four grandchildren; an uncle; two sisters-in-law; a host of cousins, nephews, nieces and friends and family.

Casandra was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.

Jones Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

GALEAND THERIOT SR.

Galeand Raymond Theriot Sr., 71, a native and resident of Franklin, died Saturday, December 5, 2009, at 9:08 a.m., at Franklin Foundation Hospital following a long illness.

He was a former employee of Franklin Foundation Hospital for 17 years and Columbian Chemical for 20 years.

Visitations will be at Lighthouse Missionary Baptist Church Saturday, December 12, from 9 a.m. until funeral service at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in the Franklin Cemetery.

Mr. Theriot is survived by a devoted friend, Treasure Ann Williams of Franklin; three sons, Galeand (Aisha) Theriot Jr. of Jasper, Texas , Raymond (Francis) Theriot of Adrian, Mississippi and Marcus Williams of Sioux City, Iowa; four daughters, Mrs. John (Rita) Jones and Holly Marie Theriot, both of Belleville, Mississippi, Sharon Faye Theriot of Baldwin and Destiny Denise Williams of Sioux City, Iowa; two brothers, Larry (Bobby) Theriot of Franklin and Dennis Theriot of Houston, Texas ; seven sisters, Mrs. Murphy (Earline) Armelin of Baldwin, Mrs. James (Alnetta) Easton of Carencro, Mrs. Eddy (Wanda) Jones of Katy, Texas , Mrs. Don (Sandra) Depass, Mrs. Melvin (Andrea) Jackson , Joanne Theriot Knighten, all of Franklin, and Mrs. Marvin (Pamela) Abraham of Fontana, California; a goddaughter, Shirlene Brown of Franklin; 13 grandchildren; and three great grand-children.
