ANNA RICHARDSON

Anna Richardson, 50, a resident of Patterson and a native of Franklin, died Sunday, February 14, 2010 at Franklin Foundation Hospital.

Visitations will be Saturday, Feb. 20 at Jones Funeral Home in Franklin, from 10 a.m. until funeral service at 2 p.m. Burial will follow in the Oakland Cemetery in St. Joseph.

Anna leaves to cherish her memories her husband, Wilfred Richardson Sr. of Franklin; her companion, Bolden Green of Patterson; three sons, Wilfred Richardson Jr., Courtney Richardson and Alton Fine, all of Franklin; an adopted son, Joseph Webster of Franklin; six daughters, Mrs. Michael (Tracy) Nedd, Latonya Richardson, Antoinette Richardson, Shanice Fine, Claudia Fine and Robin Rudolph, all of Franklin; an adopted daughter, Alexis Fine; two stepdaughters, Angel Miller and Ariel Miller, all of Franklin; three brothers, Howard (Lula) Gabriel of Franklin, Clarence (Brenda) Fine of Lydia and Paul (Maggie) Fine of Baldwin; six sisters, Jacqueline Lockett, Letha Dauphine, Patricia Rideaux, Earnestine Lumpkin, and Shelia Fine, all of Franklin, and Lillian Lewis of Patterson; five grandchildren; and a host of relatives, friends and godchildren.

Mrs. Richardson was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, a brother, an aunt, a niece, two nephews; and a best friend.

Jones Funeral Home of Franklin is in charge of arrangements.

ANNA LEOLA RHEIN

Mrs. Anna Leola Brown Rhein, 82, a resident and native of Franklin, died Saturday, September 12, 2009, at 5:50 p.m., at Dauterive Hospital in New Iberia following a short illness.

She is survived by one brother, Johnny Brown Jr. of Franklin; and three sisters, Doretha Brown and Helen Lueteenya Brown Logan of Franklin and Carolyn Brown Turner of Avondale.

Mrs. Rhein was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters and one brother.

Visitations will be observed Tuesday, Sept. 22, from 9 a.m. to noon, at the Otis Mortuary Chapel in Franklin.

Burial rites will be read Tuesday, at noon, at the mortuary, with the Rev. W.J. Otis officiating. interment will follow in the St. John Cemetery in Franklin.

The Otis Mortuary of Franklin is in charge of preparations.

JOANN T. PUGH

JoAnn Thomas Pugh, 78, a native of Bossier City and resident of Franklin for the past 66 years, Passed away Wednesday, November 25, 2009, at 1:02 p.m., at the Heart Hospital of Lafayette.

Mrs. Pugh was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church of Franklin and a former member of Eastern Star. Her greatest joy was found in her love for her family.

She is survived by three sons, John Thomas “Tommy” Pugh of Lakewood, Colorado, Ashton Russell “Rusty” Pugh of Franklin and Wallace Preston Pugh of Centerville; one daughter, the Rev. Susan Catherine Pugh of Franklin; one sister, Barbara Jean McDonald of Houston; and five grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Wallace J. Pugh Jr.; her parents, William Preston Thomas and Inez Moore Thomas; one brother, J.P. “Sonny” Thomas; and a grandson, Ryan Pugh.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed Saturday, November 28, at the First United Methodist Church of Franklin, from 10:30 a.m. to time of service.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, at 1 p.m., at the church. Burial will follow in the Perpetual Park Cemetery. The Rev. Erin Oliver will officiate the services.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert’s Mortuary of Franklin.

KAREN D. PROVOST

Miss Karen D. Provost, 48, a resident and native of Baldwin, died Tuesday, December 4, 2007, at 11:45 a.m., at Iberia Medical Center in New Iberia following a short illness.

She is survived by her mother, Hazel M. Bowser Provost of Baldwin; five brothers, Ronald Keith Provost Sr., Kim Provost Sr. and Damon Provost of Baldwin, Raymond Provost Jr. of Franklin and Mark Provost of New Orleans; three sisters, Paula Stevens of Port Arthur, Texas , Debra Charles of Jeanerette and Robin Clark of Baldwin; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Visitations will be observed Monday, Dec. 10, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Crossing Place in Franklin.

Burial rites will be read Monday, at 2 p.m., at that church. The Rev. Brad Bullock will officiate. interment will follow in the Special Providence Cemetery in Baldwin.

The Otis Mortuary of Franklin is in charge of preparations.

ROSE MAE PROVOST

Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 27, 2011, at 11 a.m., at St. Jules Catholic Church for Rose Mae Provost, 62, who died January 23, 2011 at her residence. Services will be conducted by Fr. Thomas Vu. interment will be in the church cemetery.

She is survived by her husband, Anthony Provost; daughter, Rochell; two grandchildren, Inaya Provost and Iriya Andrus; eight sisters, Alzina Sampy of Carencro, Mary Hellen Broussard of Houston, Texas , Mildred Davis of Cade, Dorothy Provost of Franklin, Ella Mae Provost, Mary Ann Griffin, Marie Douglas of Youngsville and Jeanette Jones of New Iberia; five brothers, Matthew and Lester Provost of New Iberia, Oliver of Cade, Charles and Camille Provost Jr. of Youngsville.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Camille and Mary Levy Provost.

Visitation will be held Thursday, January 27, 2011 at St. Jules Catholic Church from 8 a.m. until time of service. A rosary will be recited at 10:30 a.m.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Syrie Funeral Home, Inc. of Lafayette, La.

LAWRENCE POLIDORE JR.

Lawrence “Chimney Winnie” Polidore Jr., a resident of Patterson and a native of New Orleans, died June 8, 2010, at 10:21 a.m., at Teche Regional Medical Center.

Visitation will be held at Good Hope Baptist Church, 908 Washington St. in Patterson, Saturday, June 12, from 9 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in the Shield Cemetery.

Chimney Winnie is survived by his wife, Carol Ann Williams-Polidore of Patterson; a son, Peter Fergurson of Verdunville; six daughters, Lori Polidore, Anneotace Morgan and Tanya Morgan, all of Houston, Linda Mitchell of Franklin, Lisa Polidore of New Iberia and Ramona Benjaman of Patterson; four brothers, Henry J. Polidore of Holland, Michigan, James Johnson of Delray Beach, Florida, Raymond Mitchell of Alexandria and Clarence Jackson of Charenton; nine sisters, Esther Richardson of Patterson, Mrs. Donald (Debra) McCurtis, Josephine Mitchell and Gladys Johnson , all of Franklin, Annie Bell Polidore and Selina Mitchell, both of Houston, Carla Pratt of Verdunville, Loretta Loston of Mansura, La. and Linda Weber of Jeanerette; 27 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Jones Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

LOUISE J. PINKNEY

Mrs. Louise Johnson Pinkney, 79, a resident and native of Berwick, died Monday, April 12, 2010, at 8:56 p.m., at Terrebonne General Medical Center in Houma following a short illness.

She is survived by one son, Kenneth Johnson and wife, Faye, of New Orleans; two daughters, Carolyn Pinkney Hall of Berwick and Cathy Marie Pinkney Ashley of Crestview, Florida; two sisters, Bernice Morgan of Bronx, New York and Bessie Stackhouse of Berwick; six grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.

Mrs. Pinkney was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters and five brothers.

Visitations will be observed Friday, April 16, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Little Zion Baptist Church in Berwick.

Burial rites will be read Friday, at 2 p.m., at that church, with the Rev. W.J. Otis officiating. interment will follow in the Berwick Cemetery.

The Otis Mortuary of Franklin is in charge of preparations.

AUDREY MAE PICKNEY

Audrey Mae Rideaux Pickney, 62, a native and lifelong resident of Jeanerette, died Sunday, August 19, 2007, at Lafayette General Medical Center following a lengthy illness.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, Aug. 24, at 11 a.m., at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church in Jeanerette. The Rev. Agustinus Seran will officiate. interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will begin Friday, at 7:30 a.m., at the church until time of services. A Rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m.

Mrs. Pickney is survived by two sons, William Charles Pickney Jr. and his wife, Sharon, of Jeanerette, and Anthony Pickney of Baton Rouge; three daughters, Connie (Henry) Thomas of Baldwin, Carla P. Ezell and her husband, John, of El Paso, Texas , and Amy Fay Pickney Durley and her husband, Kenny, of Alabama; two brothers, Darryln Rideaux of California and Raymond Rideaux of Abbeville; one sister, Shirley Mae Rideaux of New Iberia; 24 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Charles Pickney Sr.; parents, Raymond and Hazel V. Rideaux; one daughter, Cynthia Pickney; one granddaughter, Olivia Pickney; and two nephews, Carlton Rideaux and Carlton Michael Rideaux.

Mrs. Pickney was employed by the Iberia Parish Recreation Dept. as a Janitorial Technician. She also assisted with many youth programs.

The Alex Lovett Funeral Services, Inc. of Jeanerette is in charge of arrangements. 276-3666.

MILTON PICARD SR.

Mr. Milton Paul Picard Sr., 81, a native of Franklin and a resident of Sorrell, died Wednesday, July 22, 2009, at 1:50 p.m., at his home surrounded by family.

Mr. Milton is survived by his son, Milton Picard Jr. and his wife, Betty, of Sorrell; two daughters, Gayle Dupuy and her husband, Ulysses, of Jeanerette and Wanda Picard and her fiancée, E.J. Louviere, of Sorrell; three brothers, Charles Picard of New Iberia, Alvin Picard of Franklin and Andrew Picard of Pineville; three sisters, Gloria Derouen of Glencoe, Nellie Derouen of Franklin and Irene Tabb of Baldwin; seven grandchildren; two step grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and a beloved pet, Brownie.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marguerite Derouen Picard; his father, Charles Picard Sr.; his mother, Marie Olivier Picard; four brothers, Adam, Walter, Willie and Shirley Charles Picard; two sisters, Mae Mondor McCreary and Alicia Millings; and a granddaughter, Tammy Dupuy.

The family requests that visitation be observed Friday, July 24, 2009, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., at Ibert’s Mortuary in Franklin, with a rosary being prayed at 7 p.m.

Visitation will resume Saturday, July 25 at 9 a.m. until time of service at Ibert’s.

Funeral services for Mr. Milton will be held Saturday, July 25, at 1 p.m., at Ibert’s, with Father Bill Crumley officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Helen’s Cemetery in Louisa.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert’s Mortuary, Inc. of Franklin.
