HECTOR P. MARKS SR.
Mr. Hector Paul Marks Sr., 89, a resident of Baton Rouge and native of Four Corners, died Tuesday, December 14, 2010, at 9:50 p.m., at Sherwood Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation in Baton Rouge following a short illness.
He is survived by one son, Hector Paul Marks Jr. and his wife, Bridget, of Prairieville; a devoted niece, Rhonda Marks Lewis and her husband, Terell, of Baton Rouge; and a grandson, Hector Paul Marks III of Prairieville.
Mr. Marks was preceded in death by four sisters and five brothers.
Visitations will be observed Saturday, Dec. 18, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., with a Rosary at 10 a.m., at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Four Corners.
Burial rites will be read Saturday, at 11 a.m., at that church, with Father Sonny Brown officiating. interment will follow in the Sorrell Cemetery.
The Otis Mortuary of Franklin is in charge of preparations.
IDA MAE MAXIE-GREEN
Ida Mae Maxie-Green, 65, a resident and native of Jeanerette, died Friday, June 8, 2007, at Iberia Medical Center following a long illness.
She is survived by her spouse, Bolden Green of Calumet; one son, James Maxie Jr. of Dallas, Texas ; two stepsons, Gregory Lewis of Four Corners and Andrius Vitto of New Iberia; two daughters, Wanda Maxie of Jeanerette and Linda Faye Jackson of Jeanerette; three brothers, Roman (Gisella) Wesley of Jeanerette, Marshall Wesley Jr. of Cade, Charles Wesley of Cecilia; three sisters, Learney Sharp of Jeanerette, Mrs. Clyde (Mary) George of Cade and Mrs. Emanuel (Ella) Chaney of Lafayette; 10 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; three godchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Mrs. Maxie-Green was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, one sister, her first husband and one daughter.
Visitation and funeral rites were observed Wednesday, at 11 a.m., at the Jones Funeral Home in Franklin. Remains will be cremated.
The Jones Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of arrangements.
JUDY ASHLEY BILLIOT
Judy Ashley Billiot, 60, a native of Centerville and resident of Berwick, died Sunday, August 17, 2003 at 6:15 a.m. at Teche Regional Medical Center in Morgan City.
Mrs. Billiot is survived by her husband, Joe Billiot of Berwick; one son, Bryan Billiot of Kenner; one daughter, Shannon Billiot Giroir, and her husband, Clint, of Morgan City; her mother, Ruth Mire Ashley of Franklin; one brother, Troy W. Ashley of Verdunville; and three grandchildren, Devin and Daryan Parvino and Austin Williams.
She was preceded in death by her father, John Franklin Ashley; and one brother, Don Malcolm Ashley.
Visitations will be held Monday, Aug. 18, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Calvary Bible Church in Centerville, and again on Tuesday at the church from 8 a.m. to service time.
Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 18, at the church, with the Rev. Paul Mortimore officiating. interment will follow in the Franklin Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to help defray funeral expenses.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert’s Mortuary, Inc. of Franklin.
HORACE A. BILLIOT SR.
Horace A. Billiot Sr., 81, a native of Morgan City and resident of Franklin since 1942, died Thursday, April 3, 2003, at 6:30 p.m., at Iberia Medical Center in New Iberia.
He is survived by his wife, Ula Marie Sauce Billiot of Franklin; three sons, Larry Billiot and Lee Billiot Sr. of Franklin and Keith Billiot of Lafayette; four daughters, Ruby B. Mendoza of Franklin, Delores B. Frizzell of New Iberia and Dale B. Gauthier and Shelia B. Baudoin of Verdunville; two brothers, Floyd Billiot of Houma and Elton Billiot of Franklin; two sisters, Hazel Temple of Franklin and Lillian Kohlmiller of Marrero; 20 grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren.
Mr. Billiot was preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Katie Lovell Billiot; one son, Horace Billiot Jr.; one daughter, Brenda Billiot; five brothers, Willard, Morris, Elwood, Bobby and Gerald Billiot; one sister, Wilma Graham; and two grandchildren, Lee Billiot Jr. and Lia Maria Baudoin.
Visitation will be held Friday, April 4, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., at Ibert’s Mortuary.
Service will be Friday, at 4 p.m., at Ibert’s Mortuary.
The Rev. Gott will officiate. interment will be in the Perpetual Park Cemetery.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert’s Mortuary, Inc. of Franklin.
RICHARD J. BONVILLAIN
Richard J. (Dickey) Bonvillain, 57, a former resident of Franklin, Passed away June 16, 2006 in Oil City, Pennsylvania .
He was cremated in Pennsylvania .
Mr. Bonvillain is survived by his parents, Percy and Hilda Pichoff Bonvillain; one sister, Sharon Dupuy; two brothers, Gary and his wife, Johanna Bonvillain; Mitchell and his wife, Sheila Bonvillain; nine nieces and nephews; and special thanks to his caregiver, Edward Harris.
Locally, a memorial Mass, officiated by Father Michael Musso, will be celebrated Friday, June 23, at 3 p.m., at the Church of the Assumption.
KENNETH BOUDREAUX SR.
Kenneth J. "Cannonball" Boudreaux Sr., 55, a native and former lifelong resident of Franklin, and a current resident of Abbeville for the past six months, died Monday, February 14, 2005, at 2:50 p.m., at his residence in Abbeville.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed Wednesday, February 16, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Ibert’s Mortuary in Franklin, with a rosary service at 7 p.m.
Visitations will resume Thursday morning at Ibert’s from 8:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, Feb. 17, at 1 p.m. at the Church of Assumption. Burial will follow in the Franklin Cemetery.
Mr. Boudreaux is survived by his wife, Jullaine "Jeannie" Eskind Boudreaux of Abbeville; three sons, Paul Boudreaux and his wife, Danielle, of Jeanerette; Kenneth ‘Spit" Boudreaux Jr. and his wife, Kristie, of Lafayette; Jason E. and his wife, Iesha, of Franklin; one daughter, Suzi Boudreaux of Franklin; three sisters, Rose Mary B. Charpentier and her husband, Willie, of Baldwin; Joy B. Boudreaux and her husband, Wade, of Jeanerette; and Joyce B. Goodman and her husband, Dan, of Baldwin; sister-in-law, Ruth Boudreaux; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by first wife, Carol Alcina Boudreaux; his parents, Roosevelt Louis Boudreaux and Roberta Darce Boudreaux; two sisters, Rosetta and Madge Boudreaux; and one brother, Larry Boudreaux Sr.
Mr. Boudreaux was formerly employed by Sterling Sugars in Franklin for 17 years. He was currently employed by Supreme Services of Broussard.
Pallbearers will be Paul Boudreaux, Kenneth Boudreaux Jr., Willie Charpentier Jr., Wade Boudreaux Jr., Ernest Landry and Danny Eskind.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jason Boudreaux and David Champagne.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert’s Mortuary, Inc. of Franklin.
LEROY PHILLIP BROUSSARD SR.
Leroy Philip Broussard Sr., 76, a native of Patoutville and resident of Franklin since 1941, died Saturday, Aug. 16, 2003, at 7:30 a.m. at Franklin Foundation Hospital.
Mr. Broussard is survived by his wife of 58 years, Joyce Goulas Broussard of Franklin; one son, Phil Broussard, and his wife, Diane, of Franklin; one daughter, Margaret B. Fain of Franklin; two sisters, Mary Lois Broussard of Franklin, and Patsy Hebert of New Iberia; four
granddaughters; two great grandsons; and three great granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by his parents, August Broussard and Mary Meyers Broussard; and one brother, Wilson Broussard.
Mr. Broussard was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, having served during World War II in the Panama Canal. He retired from Cabot after 35 years of service.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, Aug. 19, from 10 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. at Ibert’s Mortuary, with a rosary service at 2:45 p.m.
Funeral services will begin at 3 p.m. at the mortuary. interment will follow in the Franklin Cemetery.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert’s Mortuary of Franklin.
BERT HENRY BURGESS
Bert Henry Burgess, 85, a native and lifelong resident of Charenton, died Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2003, at 4 p.m., at his residence.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Marcotte Burgess of Charenton; five sons, Rev. Michael Bert Burgess of Flora, Mississippi, Kenneth Burgess of Abbeville, Gerald James Burgess of Wasailla, Alaska, Ernest Oneal Burgess of Virginia and Craig Henry Burgess of Charenton; five daughters, Carolyn Ann Savage of Charenton, Linda Ball of Gansevoort, New York, Annies Lee Burgess of Charenton, Diane Marie Turner of Homer, Alaska and Melissa Lynn Andujo of Fort Campbell, Kentucky; one brother, LeRoy Burgess of Charenton; one sister, Seniolla proctor of Charenton; 28 grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren.
Mr. Burgess was preceded in death by his father, William Burgess; his mother, Mamie Vilcan Burgess; two brothers, Harvey Adam Burgess and Norwood Huey Burgess; and one sister, Helen Marie Marcotte.
Visitation will be held Thursday, from 9:30 a.m. to time of service, at Little Pass Baptist Church in Charenton.
Service will be Thursday, Oct. 16, at 11 a.m., at that church. The Rev. Michael Bert Burgess and the Rev. Bobby Hodnett will officiate.
Entombment will follow in the Chitimacha Mausoleum.
