FRANCES COLEMAN

Frances Coleman, 77, a resident and native of Franklin, died Sunday, Jan. 2, 2005, at 2:21 a.m., at Franklin Foundation Hospital.

She is survived by one daughter, Hannah Triggs of Patterson; one brother, Ernest Eugene Jr. of Houston, Texas ; three sisters, Lillie Mae Hardwick, Mollie Delone and Georgia Peterson, all of Franklin; and two grandchildren.

Visitations will be observed Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Triumph Baptist Church in Franklin.

Funeral rites will be Saturday, at 1 p.m., at that church. interment will follow in the Franklin Cemetery.

The Jones Funeral Home, Inc. of Franklin is in charge of arrangements.

KAY NOLAN COLLETTE

Kay Nolan Collette, 65, a native of Charenton, a former resident of Glencoe and Franklin, and a resident of Centerville for the past three years, died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2005 at her residence in Centerville.

She was the owner and operator of Terry’s Supply in Glencoe from 1976 to 1992. She was loved by her family, friends and community.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Regional Hospice, 504 Jack Miller Rd., Suite 8, Ville Platte, La. 70586.

Ms. Collette is survived by her two sons, Scott Gewin and his wife, Candy, of Many, La. and Nathan Gewin and his wife, Elsy, of Fulshear, Texas ; two brothers, Curtis Nolan and his wife, Kimiko, of Melbourne, Florida; Terry Nolan and his wife, Karlene, of Centerville; one sister, Audrey Ganglof of New Iberia; four grandchildren, Mariah and Scott Gewin II, both of Many and Benjamin and Matthew Gewin, both of Fulshear, Texas .

She was preceded in death by her husband, Vincey "Dago" Collette and her parents, Elton Nolan and Olive Verrette Nolan.

The family requests that memorial visitations be observed Wednesday, Feb. 16, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Ibert’s Mortuary, with a rosary service at 7 p.m.

A memorial Mass will be held Thursday, Feb. 17, at 11 a.m., at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Centerville. Fr. Kenneth Mayne will officiate the memorial Mass.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert’s Mortuary, Inc. of Franklin.

ELIZABETH B. COPELAND

Mrs. Elizabeth "Ann" Burgess Copeland, 61, a native of Verdunville and a resident of Bayou Vista since 1969, died Tuesday, October 12, 2004, at 10:45 p.m., at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Lafayette.

The family requests that visitations be observed Saturday, October 16, from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m., at the Immaculate Conception Church in Verdunville.

Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church. Father Thomas Vu will officiate the service. interment will follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery.

Mrs. Copeland is survived by her husband of 35 years, Buddie Copeland of Bayou Vista: two sons, Patrick Copeland of Baton Rouge and Michael Copeland and his wife, Catherine, of Lafayette; three grandchildren, Gwen Annolore, Jacob Guerrero and Graham Copeland; a close family friend and caregiver, Pam Guerrero; three sisters, Zelda Valeau and her husband, Richard, of Patterson, Paulette Burgess and Bernadette Burgess, both of Verdunville; two brothers, Guanover Burgess of Verdunville and Willie Burgess and his wife, Terry, of Bayou Vista; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Daniel Burgess Sr.; her mother, Mercedes Burgess; three brothers, Homer Burgess, Herman Burgess and Daniel Burgess Jr. and one sister, Brenda Burgess.

Ann was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will always be remembered as a love-able and caring person who loved life. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert’s Mortuary, Inc. of Patterson (985-395-7873).

MARY ELDER B. DIXON

Mary Elder Kelly Buck Dixon, 85, a native of Bayou Chene and a resident of Franklin since 1953, died Thursday at Heart Hospital of Lafayette.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed Sunday, October 31, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., at Ibert’s Mortuary.

The mortuary will reopen Monday, November 1, at 9 a.m. until service time.

A service will be held Monday, at 11 a.m., at Ibert’s Mortuary. The Rev. Steve Portier will officiate the service. interment will follow in the Franklin Cemetery.

Mrs. Dixon is survived by her sons, Riley Buck and his wife, Kay, of Patterson; Uston Buck and his wife, Margaret, of Ricohoc; Harold Buck and his wife, Sarah, of Franklinton; Gerald Buck and his wife, Sue, of Centerville; Bobby Buck of Franklin; Clair Dixon Jr. and Dave Legon, both of San Francisco, California; daughters, Sarah Jane Buck of Waskom, Texas ; Betty Hanks and her husband, Merlin, of Church Point; Linda Clark and her husband, Wayne, of Baton Rouge; brothers, Harold Kelly of Morgan City and J.P. Pearce of Lafayette; 34 grandchildren; 42 great grandchildren; and 17 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clair Dixon Sr.; son, Harold James Buck; brothers, Gilbert Kelly, Tom Kelly, Herbert Kelly, Rudolph "Doo Doo" Pearce and Earl Pearce; sisters, Eufamie K. Chauvin, Sophie Pearce Ourso, Christine Kelly Pearce and Lorena Kelly Pearce; grandchildren, Riley "R.J." Buck and Harold Jacob Buck; parents, Charles Edward Kelly and Edmae Mendoza Kelly Pearce; and her step father, Frank Pearce.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert’s Mortuary, Inc. of Franklin.

TANG MANH DO

Tang Manh Do, 89, a native of Phat Diem, North Vietnam and a resident of Louisa, died Wednesday, March 2, 2005, at 4:40 p.m. at his residence.

Mr. Do is survived by his wife, Tran Thi Soi; two sons, Do Minh Tan and Do Thanh Phong; five daughters, Do Loan, Do Oanh, Do Nguyet, Do Tuyet, Do Xuan; one brother, Do Nghi; two sisters, Do Thi Hoi and Hoang Hai; 22 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Tac Do and Hoang Thi Tuc.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., with a Mass at 4:30 p.m. The mortuary will open Saturday, March 12, at 8 a.m. to 9:15 a.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, at 10 a.m., at St. Helen’s Catholic Church in Louisa. Father Thomas Nguyen Hgoc Thanh will officiate the Masses. interment will be held in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Baldwin.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert’s Mortuary of Franklin.

HENRY DUMESNIL JR.

Henry Dumesnil Jr., 88, a native and resident of Franklin, died Thursday, Jan. 15, 2004, at 3:20 p.m., at Franklin Foundation Hospital.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Beatrice Thompson Dumesnil of Franklin; three sons, Louis and Allen Dumesnil of Franklin and Henry Dumesnil III of Kingwood, Texas ; one brother, Leroy Dumesnil of Franklin; three sisters, Gloria Garlotte of Franklin, Barbara Haire of Breaux Bridge and Nellie Godcheaux of New Orleans; six grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

Mr. Dumesnil was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Sr. and Anne Boudreaux Dumesnil; one brother, Freddy Dumesnil; and two sisters, Jenny Falterman and Gracie Leboeuf.

Mr. Dumesnil was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during World War II in Europe. He received the Purple Heart for being wounded in action. He was a life member of the VFW Post #4201 and the American Legion Post #630.

Visitation will be Friday, Jan. 16, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., at Ibert’s Mortuary, with a Rosary service at 6:30 p.m.

The mortuary will reopen Saturday, Jan. 17, at 8:30 a.m.

Service will be Saturday, at 10:30 a.m., at the Church of the Assumption. Father Michael Russo will officiate. Entombment will follow in the Franklin Cemetery Mausoleum.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert’s Mortuary, Inc. of Franklin.

JOYCE L. EVANS

Mrs. Joyce Lancelin Evans, 77, a resident and native of Baldwin, died Sunday, Dec. 5, 2004, at 3:55 p.m., at Franklin Foundation Hospital, following a short illness.

She is survived by two brothers, Moses Lancelin of Baldwin and Harold G. Lancelin of Chicago, Illinois.

Mrs. Evans was preceded in death by her parents, several sisters and brothers.

Visitations will be observed Monday, Dec. 13, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Special Providence Baptist Church in Baldwin.

Burial rites will be read Monday, at 1 p.m., at that church. The Rev. W.J. Otis will officiate. interment will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Baldwin.

The Otis Mortuary of Franklin is in charge of preparations.

EDNA M. FOUQUIER

Edna M. Fouquier died Thursday, February 3, 2005, at 10:10 p.m. at the Franklin Healthcare Center. She was 102 years old. Ms. Edna was born in Montegut, Louisiana on December 2, 1902 and was a resident of Garden City, Louisiana for over 80 years.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed Saturday, February 5, from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., at the Church of the Assumption in Franklin.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the church on Saturday at 11 a.m. with Father Michael Russo officiating. interment will follow in the Franklin Cemetery.

Mrs. Fouquier is survived by her oldest daughter, Dorina Winston; 11 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and seven great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Fouquier; her daughter, Evelyn James; and her son, Hilton Fouquier.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Mrs. Barbara Luke and her husband Ray for their generous help and love over the last several years of Edna’s life.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert's Mortuary, Inc. of Franklin.
