WENDY DEAN FRANCIS

Miss Wendy "Red" Dean Francis, 39, a resident and native of Glencoe, died Sunday, August 6, 2006, at her residence following a short illness.

She is survived by a devoted and loving friend, Clarence Citizen of Church Point; parents, Gerard Sr. and Ardele Baker Francis of Glencoe; five brothers, Gerard Francis Jr., Mark Francis and his wife, Sondya, and Curtis Francis of Glencoe, Danny Francis and his wife, Monique, of Franklin, and Sampson Francis of Japan; and one sister, Carla Jones and her husband, Terry, of Baldwin.

Visitations will be observed Saturday, Aug. 12, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., at the Otis Mortuary Chapel in Franklin.

Burial rites will be read Saturday, at 11 a.m., at the mortuary. The Rev. W.J. Otis will officiate. interment will follow in the St. Helen Cemetery in Louisa.

The Otis Mortuary of Franklin is in charge of preparations.

SIDNEY J. ‘BUSTER’ GAUTHIER JR.

Sidney J. "Buster" Gauthier Jr., 73, a native and lifelong resident of Franklin, died February 2, 2003, at 5:20 p.m., at his residence.

He is survived by his wife, Olga Rogers Gauthier of Franklin; two sons, John J. Gauthier and his wife, Diana Brasseaux Gauthier of Franklin and Sidney J. Gauthier III and his wife, Denise Barnett Gauthier of Franklin; four daughters, Sally A. Peltier and her husband, Roy Peltier Jr. of Oakgrove, Kentucky, Gwen M. Saucier and her husband, Keith Saucier, of Franklin and Mary E. Melancon and her husband, Harold Melancon Sr. of Franklin and Rhonda L. Battaglio and her husband, Barry Battaglio of Franklin; one sister, Gloria Gauthier Boudreaux of Franklin; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.

Mr. Gauthier was preceded in death by his father, Sidney J. Gauthier Sr. mother, Lumea Charpentier Gauthier; two sisters, Lucille Mary Gauthier and Elizabeth Thibodeaux LaRive; and two grandchildren, John Joseph Gauthier Jr. and Tony James Melancon.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, Feb. 4, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., at Ibert’s Mortuary.

Visitation will continue Wednesday, Feb. 5, at 8 a.m. at the Church of the Assumption until time of service.

Service will be Feb. 5, at 10 a.m., at the Church of Assumption. Kenneth Domingue will officiate. interment will follow in the Perpetual Park Cemetery.

Arrangements entrusted to Ibert’s Mortuary of Franklin.

CELIA ELAINE GROGAN

Celia Elaine Grogan, 56, a resident and native of Patterson, died Monday, Oct. 20, 2003, at 9:48 at Teche Regional Medical Center.

She is survived by her husband, Andrew Grogan of Patterson; her father, Willie Williams Sr. of Patterson; one son, Rodney Grogan of Patterson; three stepsons, Andrew Harrison of Patterson, Darryl Grogan of Morgan City and Lelton Gray of Corpus Christi, Texas ; six brothers, Bruce Augustine Sr. of Houston, Texas , Willie Williams Jr. of Gibson, Wayne Williams Sr., Malcolm Williams Sr., Leon Williams and Arthur Lee Dugar, all of Patterson; five sisters, Billie Smith, Kearney Hall and Phyliss Ann Guidry, all of Patterson, Wanda Parks and Norman West, both of Houston; three foster children, Jawanda Weston, Derrasia Williams and Dwight Greene Jr., all of Patterson; eight step grandchildren; and three foster grandchildren.

Visitations will be observed Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Good Hope Baptist Church.

Burial rites will be Saturday, at 2 p.m., at that church. interment will follow in the Shield Cemetery.

The Jones Funeral Home of Morgan City is in charge of arrangements.

ALLEN RAY HARRISON

Mr. Allen Ray Harrison, 44, a native and resident of Franklin, died Wednesday, June 14, 2006, at 9:40 a.m., at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center following a short illness.

He is survived by his fiancée, Felicia Jackson of Franklin; his mother, Ruby Harrison of Franklin; one daughter, Allyson R. Milton of Baton Rouge; five brothers, James C. Oliver and Ernest Harrison of Franklin, Terry Harrison of New Iberia, Edgar Lee Harrison and Clyde Harrison of Houston, Texas ; six sisters, Beatrice Taylor and Margaret Harrison of Franklin, Joyce Jones of Baldwin, Glenda Savage, Thelma Coleman and Irma Okeke of Houston; and loved also by Daryl and Kayla Jackson of Franklin.

Mr. Harrison was preceded in by his father and grandparents.

Visitations were observed Monday, June 19, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Triumph Baptist Church.

Burial rites were read Monday, at 1 p.m., at that church. The Rev. Clarence Stewart Sr. officiated. interment followed in the Franklin Cemetery.

The Otis Mortuary of Franklin was in charge of arrangements.

DOROTHY M. HUNLEY

Dorothy Miller Hunley, 84, a native of Verdunville and resident of Franklin, died April 3, 2003, at 3:07 p.m., at Franklin Foundation Hospital.

She is survived by one son, E.J. Hawk Hunley and his wife, Kimberly, of Jackson ville, Florida; one daughter, Allyn Hunley Kerr of Franklin; one brother, Max Miller of Patterson; and one sister, Stella M. Larpenteur of Baytown, Texas .

Mrs. Hunley was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Hudson Hunley; parents, Charles W. and Flossie Matherne Miller; a son-in-law, Donald Kerr Jr.; and three brothers, Wilson, Charles and Guy Miller. Visitation will be held Monday, April 7, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Church of Assumption.

Service will be Monday, at 1 p.m., at that church. Father Michael Russo will officiate.

interment will follow in the Franklin Cemetery. Ibert's Mortuary, Inc. is in charge of arrangements.

GLENN DAVID IBERT

Glenn David Ibert, 44, a native of Franklin and a resident of Wahiawa, Hawaii, died Friday, June 11, 2004 at his residence.

He is survived by his wife, Jenny Ibert; two daughters, Ashley Ibert and Brittany Ibert; one son, Charles Ibert; and one granddaughter, Lei Ibert, all of Wahiawa, Hawaii; his mother, Nancy Bailey Ibert Bordelon and her husband, Charles, of Franklin; three brothers, Bradley C. Ibert and his wife, Trish, of Mire, Brian B. Ibert and his wife, Kye, of Rockwall, Texas and Paul M. Ibert of Franklin; and two sisters, Denise I. Lane and her husband, Tom, of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and Lisa I. Barras of New Iberia.

Mr. Ibert was preceded in death by his father, Charles S. Ibert.

A memorial visitation will be held Tuesday, June 22, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., at the Little Pass Baptist Church in Charenton.

A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m., at the Little Pass Baptist Church in Charenton. The Rev. Bobby Hodnett will officiate.

FANNIE M. JACK

Mrs. Fannie M. Jack, 70, a resident of the St. Joseph community and native of Franklin, died Tuesday, June 3, 2003, at 10:50 a.m., at Iberia Medical Center in New Iberia, following a short illness.

She is survived by two sons, Calvin Jack Jr. of Franklin and Melvin C. Jack of Baton Rouge; three daughters, Carolyn J. Brown of Baldwin, Patricia J. Cooper and Lashawn Jack Connors, both of Franklin; one brother, George Lee of New Orleans; four sisters, Louise Edwards of New Orleans, Beneva Johnson , Annie Bolden and Betty Bias, all of Franklin; godfather, Humiller Wiggins; godchildren, Christine Mitchell and Dejuan Bias; and nine grandchildren.

Mrs. Jack was preceded in death by her husband and parents.

Visitations will be observed Sunday, June 8, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the St. Joseph Baptist Church.

Burial rites will be read Sunday, June 8, at 8 p.m., at that church. The Rev. R.C. Young will officiate.

interment will be Monday, June 9, at 10 a.m., at the St. Joseph Baptist Church Cemetery.

ABLE JACKSON JR.

Mr. Able Jackson Jr., 86, a resident and native of Four Corners, died Saturday, Sept. 27, 2003, at 10:10 p.m., at Maison Teche Nursing Home in Jeanerette, following a short illness.

He is survived by three brothers, Benjamin Jackson of Beaumont, Texas , Johnell Jackson of Baldwin and Paulfrey Jackson of Ashton; a devoted nephew, Larry J. Jackson of New Iberia; and a devoted niece, Catherine Charles of Four Corners.

Mr. Jackson was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and four brothers.

Visitations will be observed Saturday, Oct. 4, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Saint Peter Catholic Church in Four Corners, with a Rosary service at 11:30 a.m.

Burial rites will be read Saturday, at 1 p.m., at that church. The Rev. Gregory Cormier, pastor, will officiate. interment will follow in the Sorrell Cemetery.

GEORGE C. KUHLMAN JR.

George Clements Kuhlman Jr., 63, a native of Centerville and a resident of Woodville, Mississippi, died Friday, Aug. 15, 2003, at Field Memorial Hospital in Centerville, Mississippi.

He is survived by his wife, Marsha Ruskoski Kuhlman of Woodville; three daughters, Ginger K. Boudreaux of Houma, Robin K. Compton of Charenton and Holly Kuhlman of Franklin; one stepson, Jack A. Darden, and his wife Tammy, of Charenton; two stepdaughters, Deanna Darden Adams, and her husband Carlos, of Baton Rouge, and Rebecca Darden Senette of Morgan City; two sisters, Kathleen Kuhlman Davidson, and her husband, Rodney, of Covington and Beryl Kuhlman Grimes, and her husband, Burl, of Panama City, Florida; four grandchildren; and five step grandchildren.

Mr. Kuhlman was preceded in death by his parents, George Clements Kuhlman Sr. and Mary Isabel "Sister" Luke Kuhlman.

He Kuhlman was a veteran of the United States Army.

Visitation was held Monday, Aug. 18, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Ibert’s Mortuary, with funeral services at 1 p.m. The Rev. Steve Luke officiated. interment followed in the Presbyterian Cemetery in Centerville.

Arrangements were entrusted to Ibert’s Mortuary of Franklin.

CAMILLE LASTRAPPE

Camille Lastrappe, 83, a resident of New Iberia and native of Morgan City, died Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2004, at 9:03 a.m., at Dauterive Hospital in New Iberia, following a long illness.

He is survived by one daughter, Carolyn Thomas of Temple Hills, Maryland; two sisters, Ara Mae Matthews of Morgan City and Naomi Manuel of New Iberia; and one grandchild.

Visitations will be observed Monday, Jan. 19, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., at Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church in Morgan City.

Funeral rites will be Monday, at 11 a.m., at that church. interment will follow in the Morgan City Cemetery.

The Jones Funeral Home, Inc. of Morgan City is in charge of arrangements.
