ANNIE BELLE LEBLANC

Annie Belle Dupre Rogers LeBlanc , 92, a native of Charenton and resident of Houma, died Thursday, Jan. 15, 2004, at 9:20 p.m.

She is survived by four sons, Willard "Spike" Rogers and his wife, Brenda, Aubrey Rogers and his wife, Elizabeth, Felix Thibodeaux and his wife, Janet, and Terry Jabert and his wife, Jane, all of Houma; one stepson, Avery LeBlanc of Houma; daughter-in-law, Betty Rogers of Houma; two brothers, Marshall Dupre and his wife, Myrtle of Houma, and Dudley Dupre and his wife, Margie, of Franklin; two sisters, Irene Dupre and Odell Chauvin, both of Franklin; five grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.

Mrs. LeBlanc was preceded in death by her third husband, Phillip L. Leblanc; her second husband, Adrien Robichaux; her first husband, Newel "Noel" Rogers; parents, Ferdinand Dupre Sr. and Valerie Bergeron Dupre; one son, James "Jimmy" Rogers; three brothers, Amos Dupre, Ferdinand "Slim" Dupre Jr. and Eugene Dupre; and one sister, Lucille Theriot.

She was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church.

Visitation will be held Saturday, Jan. 17, from 9 a.m. to service time, at Chauvin Funeral Home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, at 11 a.m., at the funeral home. interment will follow in the Bisland Cemetery.

MILDRED H. LEVY

Mrs. Mildred Henderson Levy, 89, a resident and native of Amelia, died Monday, Dec. 15, 2003, at 4:30 a.m., at Teche Regional Medical Center in Morgan City, following a short illness.

She is survived by three daughters, Lillie Mae Brooks of Patterson and Freddie Mae Walker and Alene Levy of Marrero.

Mrs. Levy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers and five sisters.

Visitations will be observed Friday, Dec. 19, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Pilgrim Grove Baptist Church in Morgan City.

Burial rites will be read Friday, at 2 p.m., at that church, Rev. H. Henderson, pastor. The Rev. W.J. Otis will officiate. interment will follow in the Union Bethel Cemetery in Amelia.

The Otis Mortuary of Franklin is in charge of preparations.

DARNELL LOCKETT SR.

Mr. Darnell Anthony Lockett Sr., 24, a resident and native of Baldwin, died suddenly Friday, Sept. 26, 2003, at 10:10 p.m., at Franklin Foundation Hospital.

He is survived by a special friend, Courtney P. Gabriel of Baldwin; mother, Anita L. Lockett of Baldwin; stepmother, Myra Phillips of Charenton; father, Michael Phillips of Charenton; two sons, Darnell Anthony Lockett Jr. and Dontrell Dontrey Lockett of Baldwin; seven brothers, Kendell Dwayne Colbert of Baldwin, Reggie and Gregory Harris of Franklin, Craig, Michael and Terrance Harris of Charenton and Deandre Hawkins of Charenton; three sisters, Gianni Chemere Colbert of Baldwin, Rolanda Jackson of Jeanerette and Amber Hawkins of Charenton; maternal grandparents, Lillie Pickney Lockett of Baldwin and Edward James Lockett of Houston, Texas ; maternal great grandmother, Amy Pickett of Baldwin; godmother, Sylvia K. Lockett of Four Corners; and godfather, Anthony Colar of Baldwin.

Visitations will be observed Friday, Oct. 3, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Baldwin, with a Rosary and tributes at 10 a.m.

Burial rites will be read Friday, at 11 a.m., at that church. The Rev. Gregory Cormier, pastor, will officiate. interment will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery.

The Otis Mortuary of Franklin is in charge of preparations.

BRYAN KINISTON LONGMAN SR.

Bryan Kiniston Longman Sr., 58, a native of Charenton and resident of New Iberia, died Wednesday, July 23, 2003, at 7:47 a.m., at his residence.

He is survived by three daughters, Michelle L. Dugas and her husband, Danny, of New Iberia, Beth L. Longstreth and her husband, Glen, of New Iberia and Ellen L. Keller and her husband, Phillip, of Pearl, Mississippi; one son, Bryan K. Longman Jr. and his wife, Stephanie, of Catahoula; two brothers, Sidney Longman Jr. and Eugene Longman, both of Franklin; two sisters, Victoria "Chi Chi" L. Corley of Bayou Vista and Sarah L. Locasio of Patterson; nine grandchildren; and one great grandchild.

Mr. Longman was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney Longman Sr. and Beryl Alford Longman.

There will be no visitation.

A memorial service will be held Friday, at 10 a.m., at the First United Methodist Church in Franklin. The Rev. John Locasio will officiate.

David Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.

GLYNN J. LOVELESS

Glenn Joseph Loveless, 46, a resident of Cleveland, Tennessee, died Thursday, Aug. 14, 2003, at a hospital in Cleveland.

He is survived by two children, Zeth Loveless and Jayce Loveless, both of New Iberia; two brothers, Jeffery F. Loveless and his wife, Rosa, of New Iberia and Mark Loveless and his wife, Paula, of Baldwin; two sisters, Lynn John of New Iberia and Melanie Picard and her husband, Michael of Jeanerette; several nieces and nephews; and several great nieces and great nephews.

Mr. Loveless was preceded in death by his parents, Lester Hester Loveless and Mary Ann LeBlanc Loveless; and one brother, Corey James Loveless.

Private memorial services will be conducted at a later date.

Ralph Buckner Funeral Home and Crematory of Cleveland, Tennessee is in charge of arrangements, (423) 472-1152.

EARVIN MCCLUE SR.

Earvin McClue Sr., 59, a resident of New Orleans and native of Morgan City, died Sunday, Jan. 29, 2006, at 9:10 p.m., at the Opelousas General Hospital following a long illness.

He is survived by his spouse, Michelle P. Brumfield, MD, of New Orleans; his mother, Dorothy K. McClue of Morgan City; two sons, Earvin McClue Jr. and his wife, Shaquina, of Baton Rouge and Breck McClue and his wife, Christina, of Lafayette; one daughter, Kiara McClue of New Orleans; and four grandchildren.

Visitations were observed Saturday, Feb. 4, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Morgan City.

Funeral rites were read Saturday, at 1 p.m., at that church. The Rev. Larry Frank officiated. interment followed in the Mt. Zion Baptist Cemetery.

The Jones Funeral Home, Inc. of Morgan City was in charge of arrangements.

Hubert McManus

Hubert McManus, 87, a native of Eunice and resident of Morgan City, died Saturday at the Morgan City Health Care Center.

He served in World War II with the U.S. Army, fighting in the Battle of the Bulge and was a former prisoner of war.

He was retired from Gulf Oil Corp. after more than 40 years with that company.

He is survived by two daughters, Janice McManus of Marietta, Ga., and Mrs. Archie (Phyllis M.) Summerlin of San Antonio, Texas ; a son, Daily Review Managing Editor Ted McManus and daughter-in-law, Bonnie, of Morgan City; four grandchildren, Seth Summerlin of Konigstein, Germany, Capt. Joshua Summerlin of El Paso, Texas , Jordan Summerlin of Corpus Christi, Texas , and Megan McManus of Morgan City; and three great-grandchildren, Jackson Summerlin, Ryan Summerlin and Kylen Summerlin.

He is also survived by a sister, Mae M. Aymond of Orange, Texas ; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, a daughter, his parents, two brothers and one sister.

Visitation will be today from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m and resumes Tuesday at 8 a.m. at Ardoin Funeral Home in Eunice.

Funeral services will be in the funeral home chapel at 10 a.m. Tuesday with burial in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery near Eunice.

Ardoin Funeral Home in Eunice is in charge of arrangements, with Twin City Funeral Home in Morgan City handling local arrangements.

EDWARD HART MINOR

Mr. Edward Hart Minor, 82, a resident of Franklin and native of Jeanerette, died Tuesday, March 30, 2004, at 10:15 p.m., at his residence, following a long illness. He was a teacher in the St. Mary Parish School system.

Survivors include three sons, Ronald Bernard, Chet Bernard, both of Houston, Texas and Marcus L. Johnson of Franklin; four brothers, Eugene Minor of Baton Rouge, Lewis Minor and Leonard Minor, both of New Orleans and Wayne Minor of Woodville, Mississippi; four sisters, Venetta Minor Brown of Woodville, Mississippi, Ernestine Minor Simms, Atrice Minor Jackson and Ezelia Minor Smith, all of New Orleans; and three grandchildren.

Mr. Minor was preceded in death by his parents, wife and one brother.

He was a veteran of the United States Army, a member of the National Education Association, member of La. Association of Educators, member of the St. Mary Association of Educators, member of the National Association of Secondary Principals and a member of AARP.

Visitations will be observed Monday, April 5, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., at the Lighthouse Missionary Baptist Church in Franklin.

Funeral rites will be Monday, at 11 a.m., at that church. The Rev. Allen R. Randle will officiate. interment will follow in the St. Marks Cemetery.

JOHNSON MITCHELL SR.

Mr. Johnson James Mitchell Sr., 87, a resident and native of Franklin, died Tuesday, March 1, 2005, at 9:20 p.m., at Franklin Foundation Hospital following a short illness.

He is survived by his wife, Esterine Lemon Mitchell of Franklin; three sons, Johnson James Mitchell Jr. of Florida Beach, Florida, Raymond Mitchell of Alexandria and Henry Polidore of Franklin; three stepsons, Brandy Lemon and Ricky Lemon, both of Franklin, and Danny Lemon of New Iberia; seven daughters, Nancy M. Lemon and Josephine Mitchell of Baton Rouge, Elizabeth Lemon, Gladys Johnson , Linda Mitchell and Selina Mitchell of Franklin, and Lorretta Lofton of Marksville; two stepdaughters, Autherine Lemon of Franklin and Carolyn Hamilton of New Iberia; two brothers, Charles J. Mitchell of Franklin and Henry W. Mitchell of Baldwin; three sisters, Charity B. Mitchell of Sulphur, Sophia Thomas and Katherine M. Kitchings of Franklin; 36 grandchildren; and 44 great grandchildren.

Mr. Mitchell was preceded in death by his parents, three sons, one daughter, three grandchildren, two sisters and two brothers.

Visitations will be observed Tuesday, March 8, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Otis Mortuary Chapel in Franklin.

Burial rites will be read Tuesday, at 1 p.m., at the mortuary. Bishop Jules Anderson will officiate. interment will follow in the Perpetual Park Cemetery in Franklin.
