ROWENA E. MORRIS
Mrs. Archie P. Morris Sr., the former Rowena Eves, 81, a native and resident of New Iberia, died Saturday, Oct. 30, 2004, at 2:12 p.m., at Iberia Medical Center.
She is survived by one son, John Morris and his wife, Monica Morris of Franklin; one brother, Byrns Eves Sr. of Baton Rouge; three granddaughters, Jennifer Morris of Franklin, Rebecca Morris of Lafayette and Zoie Lynch of Lafayette; and two grandsons, Dean Morris of Alexandria and Ted Morris of Houston, Texas .
Mrs. Morris was preceded in death by her husband, Archie P. Morris Sr.; parents, Alexander P. Eves and Inez Holleman Eves; three sons, Alexander Morris, James Edward Morris and Archie Morris Sr.; and one grandson, Keith Morris.
She was a loving mother and grandmother. She loved to collect antiques, loved flowers and also loved to sew.
Visitation will be Tuesday, Nov. 2, from 8:30 a.m. to service time, at David Funeral Home in Jeanerette.
Services will be Tuesday, at 10:30 a.m., at the funeral home. The Rev. Ed Degeyter will officiate. interment will follow in the St. John Cemetery
in Jeanerette.
Pallbearers will be Dean Morris, Ted Morris, Byrns Eves Jr., Mike Pfister, Keith Landen and Mick Pfister.
Honorary pallbearer will be John Morris.

CHARLIE NERVE
Charlie Nerve, 79, a resident of Franklin and native of Centerville, died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2005, at Franklin Foundation Hospital following a long illness.
He is survived by seven sons, Charlie Nerve Jr. of New Iberia, Polite Nerve of Jeanerette, Henry Lee Nerve, Harry Lee Nerve, both of Franklin, Louis Nerve of Centerville, Paul Nerve of Verdunville and David Nerve of Franklin; six daughters, Elsie Lightfoot, Judy Delaune, Carol Nerve, Lori Nerve, all of Franklin, Mary Ann Kemp of Verdunville and Mattie Dupas of Patterson; three sisters, Helen Guy of Erath, Ella Benard of Jeanerette and Violet Gage of Patoutville; two sisters-in-law; three brothers-in-law; 32 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, godchildren, relatives and friends.
Mr. Nerve was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one daughter and two grandchildren.
Visitations will be observed Monday, Feb. 7, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Nazarene Baptist Church in Verdunville.
Funeral rites will be read Monday, at 1 p.m., at that church. interment will follow in the Nazarene Baptist Cemetery.

ZOE SHACKELFORD NEW
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2002, at Fountain Memorial Funeral Home for Zoe Shackelford New, 57, who died Tuesday, August 20, 2002, at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette after a lengthy illness. interment will take place in Fountain Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Zoe, a native of Kansas and longtime resident of Louisiana and Indiana, was the daughter of the late Raymond Harold and Virginia Stuber Shackelford of Baldwin.
Survivors include her two sons, Dustin and his wife, Colleen, of South Bend, Indiana and Deacon of Wichita, Kansas; her sisters, Sue and husband, Jerome Dugan, of Wichita, Kay and husband, Mike Smith, of Lafayette, and Rae Ann and Charles Wakoma of Lafayette; and also her college sweetheart and significant-other, Bill Allain of Lafayette.
A 1962 graduate of Franklin High School, Zoe was homecoming queen. She received a bachelor of science in nursing from the University of Southwestern Louisiana in 1967 and a master’s degree in rehabilitation nursing at St. Xavier College in Illinois in 1981.
Most of her career was spent as a nursing instructor teaching for nine years at Purdue University North Central and five years at Indiana University at South Bend before returning to her alma mater, USL, to teach clinical nursing for six years. During her career she also served as head nurse at the University of Kansas Medical Center, a clinical nurse specialist at Memorial Hospital at South Bend and case manager at Visitors Hospital in Indiana. Zoe was a Registered Nurse, a Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse and a Certified Enterostomal Therapy Nurse. She occasionally worked at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in the latter capacity. Zoe was a member of the National Accreditation Committee for the Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nurses’ Association, the United Ostomy Association, the Louisiana State Nurses’ Association, the American Nurses Association and served on the Faculty Senate while at USL. Over the years, she also served as an officer in various professional organizations and as a volunteer for the American Heart Association, the United Ostomy Association and LGMC Heart Healthy Educational Fair. Zoe provided free consultation to area hospitals and nursing homes for wound, ostomy and continence care.
Visitation and services will be observed from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday.

The family would like to extend gratitude to Drs. Esmond Barker, William Bates, Neil Billeaud, David Craft, Maria Doucet, Patrick Herrington, Luis Meza, Jody Rossen and Jennifer Malin, who consulted in Zoe’s care, as well as the staff of Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital for their help and compassion.

ELMER D. NEWSOM
Elmer D. Newsom, 88, a native of Caldwell Parish and a resident of Franklin, died Wednesday, June 2, 2004, at 11:45 a.m., at his residence
Mr. Newsom was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps from Jan. 7, 1939 to April 1, 1940. In his early years he moved to the Redwoods of California to log. He then was the co-owner and operator of the Hebert and Newsom Sawmill in Turkey Creek. He later went to work for Columbia Chemical Co. in St. Mary Parish, where he retired after 24 years of faithful service. Mr. Newsom was an avid gardener, fisherman and hunter. He was a member of the Church of Christ on Sycamore Street in Franklin.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Marjorie Hebert Newsom of Franklin; four sons, Alton Ray Newsom and Charles Lynn Newsom, both of Centerville, Glenn Douglas Newsom of New Iberia and Bobby Wayne Newsom of Charenton; one daughter, Sharon Renae Hatfield of Athens, Alabama; one brother, Benjamin Earl Newsom of Cullen; three sisters, Mae Jenkins of Nocona Texas , Bess L. Stevens of Columbia and Bobbie Lynn Hudson of Haughton; 12 grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren.
Mr. Newsom was preceded in death by his parents, Dempsey Porter Newsom and Ruby May Sullivan Newsom; and one great grandson, Chase Roberts.
Visitations will be held Friday, June 4, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., at the Church of Christ, and again on Saturday, from 8 a.m. to service time.
Funeral service will be Saturday, June 5, at 10 a.m., at the church, with Ray Hyatt officiating. interment will follow in the Turkey Creek Cemetery.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert’s Mortuary of Franklin.
JOHNNY THOMAS PRICE JR.
Mr. Johnny Thomas Price Jr., 31, a resident and native of Franklin, died suddenly Sunday, June 1, 2003, as the result of an accidental drowning, at Cypremort Point Beach. Time of death is pending investigation.
Mr. Price was a supervisor at the Cypress Bayou Casino.
He is survived by a loving and devoted friend, Ms. Acqueline D. Small of Franklin; his mother, Ms. Dawn "Martha" Dennis of Franklin; his father, Johnny Thomas (Patsy) Price Sr. of Centerville; one brother, Nathaniel Thomas Price of Centerville; and one sister, Mrs. Robin Jones of South Carolina.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Visitations will be observed Monday, June 9, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Otis Mortuary Inc., (501 Willow St. in Franklin).
Burial rites will be read Monday, at 2 p.m., at the mortuary. The Rev. Charles Moncriffe will officiate. interment will follow in the Israelite Cemetery
on Elm Street in Centerville.

CINDY RIBARDI
Cindy Cavalier Ribardi, 44, a native of Morgan City and resident of Patterson, died Tuesday, March 8, 2005, in Morgan City. She was also a former long-time resident of Berwick.
She is survived by her loving husband and soulmate of 29 years, Eddie Ribardi Sr.; two daughters, Sheri R. Ray and her husband, Ivan, of Patterson, and Jennifer R. Rink and her husband, Jacob, of Berwick; one son, Eddie Ribardi Jr. and his fiancee, Krissy Lipari, of Patterson; her sisters, Kathleen C. LaCoste and her husband, David LaCoste of Berwick, Velma C. Menard of Lafayette, Rose C. Lassere and her husband, Frenchie, and Gloria C. Michelle (godmother) and her husband, Angelo, all of Plaquemine; her brothers, Joseph L. Cavalier of Bossier City and Dave J. Cavalier Jr. and his wife, Ellen, of New Iberia.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dave J. Cavalier Sr. and Shirley Estave Cavalier.
Visitation will be today from 6-10 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m. at Hargrave Funeral Home in Morgan City. Visitation will resume Friday from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Morgan City with burial to follow in the Morgan City Cemetery.

CLARA RILEY
Clara Earl "Pe-Tu" Riley, a homemaker and life long resident of Gonzales, La., died Oct. 17, 2003, at Ascension Care in Gonzales. She was 79.
She is survived by her husband, David Riley of Gonzales; three daughters, Joyce Todd of St Gabriel, La, Lois Riley and Celia (Clarence) Henry, all of Gonzales; four sons, George Riley of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Lloyd (Faye) Riley of Franklin, La, and Milton and Roy Riley both of Gonzales; two sisters, Alma Mitchell and Deloris (Fred) Smith both of Gonzales; 21 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two daughters, four brothers and three sisters.
Visitation at will be at Hambrick’s Family Mortuary, in Gonzales from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, and at St. Paul Baptist Church in Gonzales from 6 p.m. to time of wake service at 8 p.m.
Funeral services are Saturday, at 11 a.m., and will be conducted by the Rev. Samuel Singleton Jr. interment will follow at the church cemetery.
CLYDE ROCHON
NEW IBERIA — Funeral services will be conducted for Mr. Clyde Stephen "Roch" Rochon, 64, at 11 a.m., Friday Aug. 11, 2006 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with Fr. Steve LeBlanc officiating. interment will follow at Holy Family Mausoleum.
Visiting hours will be observed on Thursday from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. with the recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m.
The funeral home will reopen on Friday from 8 a.m. until service time.
A native and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Rochon Passed away at 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 9, at Dauterive Hospital.
Mr. Rochon was retired from Shell Oil Co. with 31½ years service ending with the title of environmental specialist. During his career with Shell, Mr. Rochon worked at Weeks Island, Calumet, Yscloskey, Fandango in Zepata, North Terrebonne in Gibson, the Toca Plant and T-Bone in Geismar. He was a past board member of District 1 Sewerage Board, a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, and enjoyed wood working and caring for his wife’s flowers.
Most of all, it was his devotion and love of his family that was most important to him. He will be deeply missed by all that knew him.
Mr. Rochon is survived by his wife of 43 years, Mary Bertha Broussard Rochon of New Iberia; his children, Wendy Delande Rochon Cabrera and husband, Jose, of New Iberia, and Wendell D. Rochon and wife, Alissa, of New Iberia; three grandchildren, Ryan Olivier, Emily Rochon and Matthew Cabrera; parents, Thomas Herbert and Iona Pellerin Rochon of New Iberia; three brothers, James Ralph Rochon of Carencro, Vernon Rochon of Los Angeles, CA and Tommy Rochon of New Iberia; three sisters, Evelyn R. Broussard of New Iberia, Kathleen R. DeRouen of Youngsville and Sharon Pellerin of Lake Charles; sisters-in-law, Sylvia B. Rochon of Carencro and Theresa B. LaLande and husband, Don, of New Iberia; brother-in-law, Ronald Broussard and Sheila of New Iberia; his mother-in-law, Irene Broussard; and his very dear friends, David and Trudy Chauvin of Franklin; and three godchildren, Dr. Brian Lalande, Vincent Foulcard, Richard Boutte Jr. and Mark Boyance.
He was preceded in death by his grandson, William Davis Rochon; father-in-law, Alpha Broussard; and brother-in-law, Larry Smith.
Pallbearers will be Wendell D. Rochon, Jose Cabrera, Ryan Cabrera, Jody DeRouen, Tommy Rochon and Ralph Rochon.
Honorary pallbearers will be David Chauvin, Johnny Broussard, Corey Broussard, Don Lalande and Joe Phillips.
