Jerry Waitman

TUTTLE, Okla. - Services for Jerry Waitman, 67, were held Saturday at the First Assembly of God Church in Tuttle with the Rev. Larry Harris and the Rev. Bob Waitman officiating. interment was in Fairlawn Cemetery in Comanche, Okla.

A native of Duncan, Okla. and a resident of Tuttle, Mr. Waitman died Wednesday, August 6, 2003 in Sherman, Texas following a battle with cancer.

Mr. Waitman was born on Sept. 14, 1935. He was the second of six children born to G.J. Waitman and Opal Brown Waitman.

Mr. Waitman grew up and attended school at Velma-Alma, Okla. There he met his high school sweetheart, Marlene Lemonds. They were married on June 14, 1952 in Walters, Okla.

Mr. Waitman began working in the oil field as a teenager and continued working in the oil industry his entire life. Throughout his life as an entrepreneur, he owned and operated several oil field service companies while working and living all over the world.

In 1992, Mr. Waitman and his wife moved to Tuttle, where they enjoyed retirement. He was a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, the American Petroleum Institute, the Willow Creek Golf Club in southern Oklahoma City and the First Assembly of God Church in Tuttle.

Mr. Waitman's hobbies were traveling, collecting antique cars and following his grandchildren to their sporting events. He will be remembered as a loving husband, a wonderful father and grandfather, a caring brother, a teasing uncle and a good friend to many.

He is survived by his wife, Marlene Lemonds Waitman; one son, Randy Waitman and his wife, Kathy, of Williston, N.D.; one daughter, Robin Guthmueller and her husband, Terry, of Purcell, Okla; two brothers, Tony Waitman and his wife, Pam, of Dibble, Okla., and Pastor Bob Waitman and his wife, Donna, of Madill, Okla.; two sisters, Linda Clark and her husband, Freddy, of Duncan, and Karen Mitchell and her husband, Carlton, of Comanche; six grandchildren, Kristol Boyd and her husband, Jonathan, Kyle, Sassy and Kayla Guthmueller, and Zack and Rick Waitman; his mother-in-law, Ruby Lemonds, of Madill; many nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.

Mr. Waitman was preceded in death by his parents, G.J. and Opal Waitman; one brother, Jack Waitman; one son, Ricky Waitman and his wife Debbie; and one grandson, Joshua Waitman.

Pallbearers were Tony, Zachariah and Richard Waitman; Kyle Guthmueller; Jon Boyd; Junior Warden; Jason Bednarz; Justin Witt; and Mr. Waitman's special angels, Kristol Boyd and Sassy and Kayla Guthmueller.

Honorary Pallbearers were Mr. Waitman's nieces and nephews and his many friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Ricky, Debbie and Joshua Waitman memorial scholarship fund, P. O. Box 746, Tuttle, OK. 73089.

Wilson-Little Funeral Home of Newcastle, Okla. was in charge of arrangements.

William "Bill" Groh II

LAFAYETTE - A Mass of Christian burial for William "Bill" Groh II, 79, will begin at 2 p.m. Monday at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist. The Rev. Keith J. Derouen, rector of the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, will be the Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Entombment will be in the Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Monday until the time of services. Leon Henry, soloist will sing "Psalm 23," "The Lord's Prayer," "Ave Maria" and "Panis Angelicus,' accompanied on the organ Tom Niel.

A native of New Orleans and a resident of New Iberia for 55 years, Mr. Groh died at 1:40 p.m. Friday, August 8, 2003, at his residence at the Consolata in New Iberia after a brief illness.

Mr. Groh was a veteran of military service, having served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a 1942 graduate of Fortier High School and later attended Tulane University and also Southwest Louisiana Institute (now University of Louisiana -Lafayette), where he graduated with a degree in education. He was a member of Kappa Sig and played football for SLI.

Mr. Groh was co-owner of Vaco Wireline and owner of Production Welding of Abbeville. He was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, the Rotary Club and the Optimist Club and was a supporter of Catholic High School of New Iberia.

Mr. Groh was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and will be sadly missed by all his family and friends. He loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting, sports and traveling.

He is survived by one daughter, Gretchen Vogel and her husband, Les, of Lafayette; two sons, Arnaud "Thomas" Groh of Puerto Rico, and Carl Groh of Lafayette; two grandchildren, Heida and Lauren Vogel, both of Houston; and his beloved dogs, Gertrude and Dejean.

Mr. Groh was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Ann Minvielle Groh; his parents, William C. Groh I and Freda Rose Groh; one sister, Willie Emma Blaum; and two brothers, Albert and Fred Groh.

Pallbearers will be Leslie Vogel, Jerry Gibbons, Fritz Dietlien, Scott McElligott, Brent Logan, Dr. Gene Dauterive, Emanual St. Upery and Dr. Roy LaSalle.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Paul Toce, Dr. L.O. Broussard, Dr. Luis Alvarez, James Sandoval, Gustero Barber, St. Paul Bourgeois III and Raleigh W. Johnson Jr.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at the Consolata in New Iberia; his private nurses, Pam and Nursey; his caregiver for the last 25 years, Ms. Celestine; the fifth-floor nurses and staff at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center, and the nurses and doctors at Hospice of Acadiana.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Groh's name to Hospice of Acadiana, 2600 Johnston St., Suite 200, Lafayette, LA 70503.

Carolyn Girouard

Loving daughter

BRENHAM, Texas - Services for Carolyn Girouard, 57, the former Carolyn Hrnicko, were held on July 3 at St. Mary's Catholic Church. interment was in Prarie Lee Cemetery.

A native of Brenham and a resident of New Iberia for most of her life, Mrs. Girouard died Monday, June 30, 2003, at her home after a lengthy illness.

Mrs. Girouard was the owner of Girouard's Cajun Market and Collectibles. She enjoyed her work, friends, elderly people and animals. She was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Lydia.

Mrs. Girouard was always jolly and ready to help anyone despite her illness. She is sadly missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her mother, Georgia Malak, of Brenham; two brothers, Gary Hrnicko and Freddie Hrnicko and his wife, Brenda, both of Brenham; one sister, Marilyn Wensel and her husband, Edward, of Brenham; two nieces and two nephews.

Mrs. Girouard was preceded in death by her step-father, Stephen Malak, and her nephew, Lance Wensel.

Brenham Memorial Chapel Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Hubert Richard

LOREAUVILLE - Services for Hubert Richard, 89, will begin at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Entombment will be in St. Joseph Mausoleum.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until 10 p.m. today at David Funeral Home of Loreauville with a 6 p.m. rosary. Visitation will continue from 8 a.m. until the time of services Monday.

A resident of Loreauville, Mr. Richard died at 2:50 p.m. Saturday, August 9, 2003, at his residence.

Arthur A. Louviere

FRANKLIN - Funeral services for Arthur Albert Louviere, 78, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Ibert's Mortuary.

Visitation will be from 6-10 p.m. Wednesday at Ibert's Mortuary which will reopen at 8 a.m. until the time of services Thursday.

Ibert's Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Mariana M. Padgett

Funeral services for Mrs. Randy Padgett, 41, the former Mariana Migues, are pending.

Visitation will be from 12 noon until 10 p.m. Thursday at Evangeline Funeral Home, which will reopen at 8 a.m. until the time of services Friday.

A resident of Youngsville, Mrs. Padgett died at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 28, 2003, in a New Orleans hospital.

Evangeline Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Alvin Landry Sr.

Loving husband, father and grandfather

JEANERETTE - Funeral services for Alvin "Neg" J. Landry Sr., 79, were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. John The Evangelist Catholic Church, in which the Rev. Ed Degeyter and Deacon L.J. Freyou officiated. interment was in St. John Cemetery.

Visitation was from 5-10 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2003, at David Funeral Home, which reopened at 8 a.m. until the time of services today.

A native of Lydia and a resident of Jeanerette, Mr. Landry died at 9:16 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2003 at his residence.

Mr. Landry had been an employee at LeJeune's Bakery in Jeanerette for 59 years. He loved to go to the casino.

He is survived by his wife, Rita Rogers Landry of Jeanerette; his daughter, Mrs. Ronald "Sandy" Courville of Jeanerette; two sons, Alvin J. Landry Jr. of Jeanerette and Terry Landry and his wife, Donna of New Orleans; his brother, Melvin "Pete" Landry of Lydia; three sisters, Vivian Guillotte of New Iberia, Gretna Borel of Lydia and Loranne Naquin of Baldwin; 12 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Landry was preceded in death by his father, Agricole Landry; his mother, Octavia Theriot Landry; his daughter, Joyce Landry Larive; and his sister, Mrs. Violet Landry Hebert.

Pallbearers were Ronald Sr., Ronald Jr. and Ryan Courville, Terry, Timmy and Kurt Landry.

Honorary pallbearers were Rickey Courville and James Larive.

David Funeral Home of Jeanerette was in charge of arrangements.

Albert Gary

A rosary service for Albert Gary, 62, will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at Evangeline Funeral Home with the Deacon Wade Broussard officiating.

Visitation will continue until 9 p.m. today, Oct. 1, 2003, at the funeral home.

A native of Coteau and a resident of New Iberia, Mr. Gary died at 4:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 29, 2003, at his residence.

Mr. Gary retired from W.R. Grace in 1988 and also worked with Patout Burns Firestone. He had a love for gardening and raising all sorts of animals.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Mary Barrilleaux Gary of New Iberia; one son, Wade E, Gary of New Iberia; one daughter, Mary Ann Toutcheque and her husband, Albert of New Iberia; three grandchildren, Edwin, Krystal and Dre' Toutcheque of New Iberia; and one sister, Gladys Viator of New Iberia.

Mr. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Ellis and Victoria Romero Gary; and his brother, Wilbert Gary.

Evangeline Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Kerry Michael Migues

NEW ORLEANS - Graveside services for Kerry Michael Migues, 51, will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in Delcambre Cemetery (Migues Cemetery).

The family asks that all guests please arrive at 12:30 p.m. to visit and sign the guest book.

A native of Weeks Island and a resident of New Orleans, Mr. Migues died at 9:37 p.m. Monday, Sept. 15, 2003, at University Hospital.

Mr. Migues is survived by his loving mother, Mrs. Dolores D. Migues; his brother, Reed Anthony Migues and his wife, Patricia; his sister, Yvette Marie Migues and her companion, Kelly Vanosdell; his lifelong companion, Mr. Ervin Rhodes; his nieces, Yolanda and Chanda Migues, and Nerissa Giron; his nephew,

Brock Migues; and his great-nephews, Rafael and Marco Barahona.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jr. Julius F. Migues; and his brother, Mr. Lynn Peter Migues.

Professional Funeral Services of New Orleans is in charge of arrangements.
