Funeral services for Corey Brandon Minor Jackson , one month old, are pending.

Corey died at 6:36 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2003 at Women's and Children Hospital in Lafayette.

Nell D. Champagne

Funeral services for Mrs. Nathan Joseph Champagne, the former Nell Duplantis, are pending.

A resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Champagne died at 12:55 a.m. today, Oct. 1, 2003, at Dauterive Hospital.

Evangeline Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

James E. Latour

ABBEVILLE - Services for James Edward Latour, 62, will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church with the Rev. William Blanda officiating.

Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services Thursday at the church.

A resident of Abbeville, Mr. Latour died Monday, Oct. 6, 2003, at his residence.

He is survived by his son, Jacques Latour and his fiancee, Terry Courville, of New Iberia; his daughter, Nicole Latour Gaspard and her husband, Kevin, of Coteau; two brothers, Dr. Thomas Latour of Indian Bayou and Dr. Emile Latour of Jackson ville, Fla.; three sisters, Lorraine Latour Noel, Lillie Latour Broussard and Lorna Latour Langlinais, all of Abbeville; and four grandchildren.

Mr. Latour was preceded in death by his parents, Alexis Grassett "A.G." Latour and Lillie Mae Dore Latour; two brothers, Dr. Louis Latour and Robert Francis Latour; and his sister, Margaret Ann Latour.

Dorothy C. Lewis

EDMOND, Okla. - Services for Mrs. Harold E. Lewis Sr., 77, the former Dorothy "Yummy" Courrege, will begin at 10 a.m. Friday in Edmond, Okla.

Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at Baggerley Funeral Home, and will continue from 8 a.m. until the time of services Friday.

A native of New Iberia and resident of Edmond, Okla., Mrs. Lewis died at 2 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2003, at her residence.

"Yummy," as she was known to family and friends, loved the outdoors. She was an avid golfer and enjoyed traveling and camping with family and friends. Yummy was happy and outgoing and always brought joy and laughter to everyone around her. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Harold E. Lewis Sr. of Edmond, Okla.; her son, Harold E. Lewis Jr. and his wife, Sue, of Edmond, Okla.; her daughter, Theresa Lewis Howarth and her husband, David, of Austin, Texas ; three sisters, Viola Courrege Peltier and Mildred Courrege Rodrigue, both of New Iberia, and Marjorie Courrege Glorioso of Charenton; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Lewis was preceded in death by her parents, Lucien and Theresa Drouet Courrege; and two brothers, Carroll and Eldridge Courrege.

Baggerley Funeral Home of Edmond, Okla. is in charge of arrangements.

Beldon E. Fox Sr.

Business leader, bank executive, husband, father, grandfather

Funeral services for Beldon E. Fox Sr., 95, will begin at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Scott Bullock officiating. Entombment will be in Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. at Evangeline Funeral Home, which will reopen Thursday from 8:30 a.m. until the time of services.

Fox, a business leader in New Iberia for more than half a century, died at his home on Sunday, Jan. 12, 2003. Relatives said he died in his sleep.

Born Dec. 24, 1907, in Oakland, Okla., Fox was a graduate of Madill High School in Madill, Okla., and the Hills Business College of Oklahoma City. A pioneer in the oil business, he began his career in 1925 working for American Iron & Machine Works as its sole office worker. During the next 15 years he advanced as the company grew to become its purchasing agent and office manager in Oklahoma City. In 1941 he was transferred to New Iberia to become the general manager of American Iron's Jane Street location.

In 1944 Fox and Charles "Charlie" Courmier bought the New Iberia plant from their former employer and formed Red Fox Machine and Supply Company with 30 employees. Following Courmier's death in 1969, Fox became sole proprietor of the greatly expanded business of general oil field repair.

In 1970 in order to meet the growing needs of the offshore oil exploration and production industry, a second company, Red Fox Industries, was incorporated with Fox at its helm and began operations at the Port of Iberia. This facility eventually grew to employ several hundred men and women. It consisted of two divisions: fabrication of offshore drilling package rigs, as well as marine pollution control systems.

Fox was successful in other business ventures throughout Iberia Parish. He was one of the founders of Iberia Supply, a plumbing supply business, and eventually became its sole owner, and was also vice president of Iberia Realty. In 1958 he was a charter member of the Board of Directors of City Bank and Trust and also served as the bank president in 1975 and later became Chairman of the Board.

He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the Shriners. He served the community as president of the Greater Iberia Chamber of Commerce from 1952-53. He was also a member of the Board of Trustees of First United Methodist Church of New Iberia.

Fox served membership or leadership roles in the Iberia Golf and Country Club, Oakbourne Golf and Country Club, the Petroleum Club and the Krewe of Andalusia. In addition he was a former king of the Krewe of Andalusia.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Clementine Clement Fox; his son, Beldon E. Fox Jr. of Lafayette; his brother, W.A. Fox of New Iberia; two sisters, Bernadine Fox Stogner and Elna Fox Van der Vort, both of Oklahoma City, Okla.; his daughter-in-law, Emma B. Fox; Myrna S. Fox; his grandson, David Fox, and his wife, Gina, of Knoxville, Tenn.; six granddaughters, Kirsten Fox Pearcy, and her husband, Jeff, of Atlanta, Adrienne Fox Luscombe, and her husband, David, of Alexandria, Va., Kathlene "Kathy" Fox of New Iberia, Allyson Fox Pharr, and her husband, Mark "Tiger" Pharr, of Lafayette, Monique Fox of Chicago, and Margaux Fox of Venice, Calif.; and five great-grandchildren, Alexandra and Olivia Pharr, Cory Barrios, Kaelon Fox and Gavin Luscombe.

Mr. Fox was preceded in death by two sons, Robert C. Fox, and one who died in infancy; his parents, Wesley and Mamie Horn Fox; and his sisters, Velondia Fox Kerr, Vora Fox Stephenson and Irma Fox Douglas.

Pallbearers will be David E. Fox, Mark R. Pharr III, Floyd LeBleu, James Gray, John Stogner and Keith Vandervort.

Honorary pallbearers will be Sam White , Wesley A. Fox, Yvonne Bingham, Jo Wormser, Julaine Schexnayder and Evelyn LaBauve.

Flowers may be sent or donations may be made in the name of Mr. Beldon E. Fox Sr. to the New Iberia Humane Society, 1314 Troy Road, New Iberia, La. 70560.

Huey F. Segura

Funeral services for Huey F. Segura, well known Cajun storyteller and executive pilot, will begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. Entombment will be in the Holy Family Mausoleum.

Visitation will be today from 5-9 p.m. with a 7:30 p.m. rosary at Evangeline Funeral Home, which will reopen Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the time of services.

Mr. Segura, 74, Passed away at 5:20 p.m. Monday, Jan. 13, 2003, at Iberia Medical Center following a courageous battle of three years against serious illnesses.

Born Aug. 28, 1928, to a pioneer Iberia Parish family, he was the son of the late Paul F. Segura and Levie Broussard Segura. He grew up on the family farm in Coteau, graduated from New Iberia High School and attended LSU. On July 24, 1948, he was married to Patricia Anderson from New Iberia, formerly of Lafayette.

His early career was in the automobile business, being employed by the local Buick dealer as general manager. In May 1951 he entered the military service, serving in the Korean War as an officer in the Army Transportation Corps flying light airplanes and helicopters. He was discharged in 1955.

From 1955-58, Mr. Segura was the franchised Buick dealer in New Iberia, in 1958 selling his dealership in order to change his career focus to flying. From 1958-86, he was employed by Riviana Foods in Abbeville and later in Houston, as executive pilot, then chief pilot and director of aviation, flying business jet aircraft throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, Central and South America and the Carribean. His last five years with the company were spent as director of transportation in charge of all freight movements to 90 international countries. He retired in 1986.

Following his retirement, Mr. Segura became active in motor homing, eventually owning six motor homes. He was a member of three motor home clubs, serving as a national director of the International Family Motor Coach Association and also as board member and then president of the Louisiana FMCA chapter, the Crusin' Cajuns, in 2001.

He enjoyed an active lifestyle with hunting, fishing, golf and traveling in his own airplanes and more recently his motor coaches.

Mr. Segura had a host of friends from his many hobbies and business associations.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Patricia; his son, Huey F. Segura Jr., (Chopper) of Lafayette; two daughters, Virginia Segura Myers (Ginger) of Winston Salem, N.C., and Amelia Segura Patout (Mia) of New Iberia; three grandchildren, Jillian and Drew Segura, and Aleece Margaret Patout; his brother, Perry J. Segura of New Iberia; his sister, Amelia Segura Selph of New Iberia; and two sons-in-law, Steven F. Myers and Paul J. Patout.

Mr. Segura was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Gen. Wiltz P. Segura; and two sisters, Pearly Segura Babineaux and Mildred Segura Gisclar.

Andy J. Louviere

Memorial services for Andy James Louviere, 70, will be held Thursday from 4-8 p.m. at Evangeline Funeral Home, with words of remembrance and eulogy being presented at 6 p.m.

Born on Jan. 10, 1932, in Avery Island and a resident of New Iberia, Mr. Louviere died Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2003, in Brownsburg, Ind.

Mr. Louviere was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served during the Korean War and was a plumber for Plumbers Local 210 in Indiana for 35 years, retiring in 1991.

He is survived by his children, Mark Louviere of Waterloo, Iowa, Michele DeArmond and Kathleen (Brad) Little of Brownsburg, Ind., Mary (Brad) Rapp of Naples, Fla., Scott (Dewana Breaux) Louviere of Griffith, Ind., Karen (Gary) Edgington of Crown Point, Ind., Tom (Lynn) Louviere of Jasper, Ind., and Michael (Sandy) Louviere of Mount Vernon, Iowa; 17 grandchildren; his brother, Matthew (Sonny) Louviere of New Orleans; two sisters, Lillie Mae (Louis) Richard and Emily Delcambre, both of New Iberia; and the mother of his eight children, Rita Louviere of Waterloo, Iowa.

Mr. Louviere was preceded in death by his parents, Ceasaire and Lillie Mae (Fontz) Louviere; and seven siblings.

Robert Clay Jr.

Devoted husband, loving father and grandfather

JEANERETTE - Funeral services for Robert Clay Jr., 55, will begin at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Morning Pilgrim Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles Moncriffe officiating. interment will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be Wednesday at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of services.

A native and lifelong resident of Jeanerette, Mr. Clay died Thursday, Jan. 9, 2003, at his residence following a lengthy illness.

He is survived by his wife, Julia Mae Clay of Jeanerette; his mother, Leona Clay of Jeanerette; his son, Robert Clay III of Jeanerette; six daughters, Lisa Chenet, Lakeisha, Melinda and Christina Clay, all of Jeanerette, Martha Clay of St. Martinville, and Theresa Zeno of Coteau; his brother, Milton Clay of Houston; four sisters, Betty Williams of Houston, Barbara Jean Clay of Beaumont, Texas , and Shirley Bessard and Rosalie JeanLewis, both of Jeanerette; and three grandchildren, Kenneth, Lasheka and Brittany Chenet.

Mr. Clay was preceded in death by his father, Robert Clay Sr.; his daughter, Barbara Clay; his paternal grandmother, Karissa Clay; his maternal grandmother, Rose Marks; his nephew, Reginald Simon; and his niece, Mona Bradley.

Pallbearers will be Renny Keal, Berwick Rhine, Randy, Kevin and Alkin JeanLewis Jr., Benny Brown Jr. and Reginald Marks.

Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Clay III, Oren Bradley, Joseph Lewis, Bryan Keal, Joseph Mitchell and Quincy Barabin.

The family would like to thank Hospice of Acadiana for their concern and care during Mr. Clay's illness.
