Gladys B. Tracy

Loving grandmother and great-grandmother

Funeral services for Mrs. Fred Tracy, 83, the former Gladys Margaret Bodin, will begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Peter's Catholic Church with the Rev. Jude Halphen officiating. interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will continue until 10 p.m. today with a 7 p.m. rosary at Evangeline Funeral Home, which will reopen Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the time of services.

A native and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Tracy died at 3:40 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, 2003, at Dauterive Hospital.

Mrs. Tracy was a devoted mother and enjoyed spending time with her family. She had a love for reading, crocheting and watching the Catholic Mass on television.

She is survived by two sons, Malcolm W. Tracy, and his wife, Sharon, of Atwater, Calif., and Terrance M. Tracy, and his wife, Verla, of New Iberia; two daughters, Patricia T. Bayard, and her husband, Wayne, of Loreauville, and Deborah T. Breaux, and her husband, Gordon, of Lydia; her brother, Donald Bodin of New Iberia; two sisters, Lois B. Segura, and her husband, Alton, of New Iberia, and Elvie B. "TV" Segura, and her husband, Fred, of Cade; 12 grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Tracy was preceded in death by her husband, Frederic M. "Fred" Tracy; her parents, Ferdinand "Boze" Bodin and Daisy B. Bodin; her grandchild, Matthew Tracy; and her siblings, Alton Bodin, Alma Barras, Audrey LeBlanc , Wilda Arceneaux and Sadie Rogers.

Pallbearers will be Terrance and Malcolm Tracy, Donald Bodin, Jerome Michael, Jason James and Nathan Francis Breaux.

Honorary pallbearers will be Buddy, Brayton and Brannon Bayard, Charles Migues and Gordon Breaux.

Evangeline Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.

Bert James Roy

1932-2003

BALDWIN - Funeral services for Bert James Roy will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Baldwin with the Rev. Mitchell Guidry officiating. Military honor guard graveside services will follow.

Visitation will be today from 6-10 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary by Rev. Mitchell Guidry of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and members of the Baldwin-Charenton Knights of Columbus at Ibert's Mortuary in Franklin, which will reopen Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the time of services.

A resident of Baldwin, Mr. Roy Passed away after a lengthy illness at 3:15 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 20, 2003, at Dauterive Hospital in New Iberia. He was 71 years old. Born on Jan. 3, 1932, in Bunkie, La., he moved to Baldwin in 1953 where he lived until the time of his death.

He retired from Cleco's Teche Power Station where he worked for nearly 40 years and was supervisor of mechanical maintenance at the time of his retirement.

Mr. Roy was a proud Korean War veteran and served honorably in the U.S. Army in the 10th Infantry Division and was wounded in Korea during the war.

He was a member of the Franklin American Legion and a lifetime member of the Baldwin-Charenton Knights of Columbus Council.

Mr. Roy was one of the first lectors at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Baldwin where he also taught adult CCD and more recently was an usher.

He will be remembered for his sense of humor and love of jokes and laughter, his pride in his Cajun heritage, his love of cooking and his passion for drinking lots of Community coffee. He was an aspiring artist leaving behind several cherished and beautiful paintings through which his memory will live on forever.

Known as "Bert," "Honey," "Daddy," "Daddy-bole," "Papa," and "Papa Bert" Mr. Roy was a devoted, caring and loving husband, father, grandfather and friend and will be forever loved, missed and remembered by many.

He is survived by his wife of 49 1/2 years, Yvonne Hairford Roy; his children, Fred Roy of Baldwin, Wavely Cunningham, and her husband, Bill, of Shreveport, Countice Breaux, and her husband, Wayne, of Baldwin, and Shelton Roy and Paige Keller of Patterson; his seven grandchildren, Lauren Roy, Mandy Roy, Clint Breaux, Adrienne Breaux, Emily Cunningham, and twins, Rebecca and Victoria Cunningham; his mother-in-law, Elphia Ducote Hairford; two brothers, Richard Roy of Alexandria, and Warren Roy of Bunkie; and two sisters, Wanda Himel and Mildred Kojis, both of Bunkie.

Mr. Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick H. Roy and Adele St. Martin Roy of Bunkie; a sister, Velma McNutt of Cheneyville; and his father-in-law, John Hairford of Dupont.

Pallbearers will be Fred Roy, Shelton Roy, Wayne Breaux, Bill Cunningham, Paul Dupre and Ramah Guess.

The family asks that in his memory, donations be considered for the American Diabetes Association, the American Heart Association and the American Kidney Foundation.

Ibert's Mortuary of Franklin is in charge of arrangements.

Earl C.J. Viguerie

CHARENTON - Funeral services for Earl C.J. Viguerie, 100, will begin at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Charenton with the Rev. William Crumbly officiating. Entombment will be in the family mausoleum in St. Helen's Cemetery in Cypremort Point.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church.

A native of Charenton and resident of Baldwin, Mr. Viguerie died at 12:05 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, 2003, at Franklin Health Care Center.

He was born on Aug. 11, 1902, on Lakeview Plantation in Charenton. His family moved to Richland Plantation in Cypremort, then to Grevemburg House in Franklin and later to Katy Plantation, where he spent his early childhood. He then moved to Patterson when his father purchased Waveland Plantation. He graduated from Patterson High School in 1923, where he excelled in all sports and was an outstanding football player for the Patterson Lumberjacks. Following graduation, he attended Southwestern Louisiana Institute in Lafayette. He returned to Charenton to help manage the family business, Charenton Shell Beach Pleasure Resort. At the onset of World War II, he joined the U.S. Army Air Corps and was honorably discharged. He returned to Charenton and was employed by, and retired from, Pan American Oil Company.

He is survived by nieces, Wanda V. Bailey and Genevieve V. Petitfils, both of Baldwin, Dorothy Hunt Pennebaker of Charleston, S.C., Gloria Dolan Rogers of Moultrie, Ga., and numerous great-nieces and nephews.

Mr. Viguerie was preceded in death by his wife, Mattie Oglesby Viguerie; his parents, Frank Camille and Ernestine Burguieres Viguerie; four brothers, Frank C. Viguerie Jr., Ernest D., and Duke J. and John P. Viguerie; and two sisters, Rosa V. Hunt and Rose V. Dolan.

Ibert's Mortuary of Franklin is in charge of arrangements.

Lula H. Comeaux

KAPLAN - Funeral services for Lula Comeaux, 84, the former Lula Hebert, will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Vincent Funeral Home with the Rev. Rex Broussard officiating. interment will be in Leroy Cemetery.

Visitation will be today from 1-9 p.m. with a 6:30 p.m. rosary at Vincent Funeral Home, which will reopen Wednesday from 8 a.m. until the time of services.

A native and lifelong resident of Leroy, Mrs. Comeaux died Monday, Jan. 20, 2003, at Lafayette General Medical Center.

Mrs. Comeaux worked for 40 years as a seamstress. She was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing, listening to Cajun music and visiting friends.

She is survived by her husband, Noah Comeaux of Leroy; a daughter, Dolores, and her husband, Rayward Segura, of New Iberia; two sisters, Lily Bunker of Branch, and Rose Viator of Abbeville; four grandchildren, Tessie, and her husband, Barry Dore', Barry Segura, and his wife, GiGi, Lane Segura, and his wife, Cherie, and Beau Segura, all of New Iberia; and three great-grandchildren, Madison and Gabriel Segura, and Drake Dore'.

Mrs. Comeaux was preceded in death by her parents, Bernard Hebert and the former Odile Pommier; and one sister, Adelaide Johnson .

Pallbearers will be Barry, Lane and Beau Segura, E. Ray Trahan, Randall McCall and Buddy Dore'.

Honorary pallbearers will be her great-grandchildren.

Vincent Funeral Home of Kaplan is in charge of arrangements.

Marshall J. Sisk

FRANKLIN - Funeral services for Marshall J. "Mickey" Sisk, 51, will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Ibert's Mortuary with the Rev. Bobby Hodnett officiating. Entombment will be in Chitimacha Mausoleum in Charenton with military burial honors to be performed by the Fort Polk Casualty Area Command.

Visitation will be today from 6-9 p.m. at Ibert's, which will reopen Tuesday at 8 a.m.

A native of McKinney, Texas , and resident of Charenton for the past 18 years, Mr. Sisk died at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, 2003, at Franklin Foundation Hospital.

Mr. Sisk was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during the Vietnam War.

He is survived by two daughters, Heather Sisk of Baldwin, and Chelsey Sisk Adams of Charenton; his father, Wilford Willis Sisk of Valiant, Okla.; two brothers, Wilford Ray Sisk of Copeville, Texas , and Daryl L. Sisk of Charenton; three sisters, Sharon Taylor and Karen VanDuser, both of Copeville, Texas , and Rene Pevehouse of Princeton, Texas ; two grandchildren, Rayven Nickole Adams and Haylee Grace Bourgeois, both of Charenton; and his former wife, Patricia Cadenhead of Campbell, Texas .

Mr. Sisk was preceded in death by his mother, Esther Vilcan Sisk; and his brother, Gary Glenn Sisk.

Ibert's Mortuary Inc. of Franklin is in charge of arrangements.

Sheryl Q. Pelous

Loving wife, mother and grandmother

LOREAUVILLE - Services for Mrs. Kenneth J. Pelous, 58, the former Sheryl Quibodeaux, will begin at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with the Rev. Paul Onuegbe officiating. interment will be in All Saints Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. today until the time of services Monday with a rosary at 8 p.m. tonight at David Funeral Home in Loreauville.

A native of Coteau Holmes and resident of Loreauville, Mrs. Pelous died at 1:25 p.m. Friday, Feb. 14, 2003, at Dauterive Hospital.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth J. Pelous of Loreauville; her mother, Esmay Molbert Quibodeaux of Arnaudville; three sons, Wilton P. Laviolette Jr. and his wife, Cindy; Kim Jude Pelous and his wife, Penny, all of Loreauville; and Kerry J. Pelous of Lafayette; three grandsons, Dustin and Dylan Laviolette; and Jake Jude Pelous, all of Loreauville; her best friend, Louella Louviere of Loreauville; her brother, Joey Quibodeaux Sr. of Parks; and two sisters, Lana Blachard of St. Martinville; and Chris Broussard of Loreauville.

Mrs. Pelous was preceded in death by her father, Wilfred Quibodeaux; and her sister, Vickie Quibodeaux.

Pallbearers will be James Carlos, Wayne Broussard, Alfred "T.J." Blanchard Jr., Kevin Picard, Leland Schouest and Joey Quibodeaux Jr.

David Funeral Home of Loreauville is in charge of arrangements.

Gertrude D. Hardy

LYDIA - Funeral services for Gertrude Davis Hardy, 84, will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. James Baptist Church in Lydia with the Rev. John Stevens officiating. interment will be in St. James Cemetery in Jeanerette.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 10-11 a.m. at the church.

A native of Patterson and resident of Jeanerette for many years, Mrs. Hardy died at 1:55 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2003, at her residence.

Mrs. Hardy was a retired day care center owner and beautician.

She is survived by two brothers, Wallace Davis of Glencoe, and Atkhra Davis of New Orleans.

Mrs. Hardy was preceded in death by her parents, husband and five brothers.

Otis Mortuary of Franklin is in charge of arrangements.

Raymond Wiese Sr.

HOUSTON - Memorial services for Raymond G. Wiese Sr., 76, will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home in Houston.

A native of Onekama, Mich., and resident of Navasota, Texas , Mr. Wiese died Thursday, Feb. 13, 2003, at Memorial Hermann in Houston.

Memorial Oaks Funeral Home of Houston is in charge of arrangements.
