Collette D. Sisk

COTEAU - Funeral services for Mrs. Lee Adam Sisk, 35, the former Collette Dore, will begin at 3 p.m. Friday at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church with the Rev. Donovan Labbe officiating. interment will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be today from 5 p.m. until the time of services Friday with an 8 p.m. rosary today at Evangeline Funeral Home, which will remain open all night.

A native and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Sisk died at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 14, 2003, at her residence.

Mrs. Sisk was a loving mother and a best friend to all who knew her. She will be sadly missed and remembered for years to come.

She was the owner of C & L Lawn & Maintenance for seven years. She enjoyed grass cutting and also spending time with her family and doing things like camping, bowling and going on vacations with them.

She is survived by her husband, Lee Adam Sisk of New Iberia; her mother, Mary Joyce Gary Dore of New Iberia; four daughters, Brittany and Shandi Migues, and Ali and Richalie Sisk, all of New Iberia; her father and mother-in-law, Roger D. and Lucy N. Sisk; her brother, Corey Dore and his wife, Jammie, of New Iberia; her sister, Cynthia Rawlins of New Iberia; her brother-in-law, Bobby J. Sisk and his wife, Pearl H. Sisk; her sister-in-law, Rebecca Sisk Bacas and her husband, Alan Bacas; her niece and nephew, April M. and Benny W. Rawlins; her godchildren, Michelle E. Rawlins, Christopher J. Dore, Lexi E. Reaux, Ronlee Dore, and Alaina and Brice Bacas; and her godparents, Donald Dore and Wilbert and Rosemary Dore.

Mrs. Sisk was preceded in death by her father, William Joseph Dore Jr.; her paternal grandparents, William Joseph and Odil Dore; and her maternal grandparents, Adam and Nolia Gary.

Pallbearers will be Corey Dore, Allen Bacas, Jean Reaux, Chris Picard, and Ben and Benny Rawlins.

Honorary pallbearers will be Roger and Bobby Sisk, and Donald, Wilbert and Ronald Dore.

The family prefers memorials be made to the family.

Evangeline Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.

Sidney J. Gary, Jr.

JEANERETTE - Funeral services for Sidney J. Gary, Jr., 79, will begin at 2 p.m. today at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with the Rev. Ralph Landry officiating. interment will be in the church cemetery with military graveside services conducted by V.F.W. 1982.

Visitation will be at David Funeral Home until the time of services.

A native of Iberia Parish and resident of Jeanerette, Mr. Gary died at 9 a.m. Monday, June 16, 2003 at his residence.

He was a veteran having served in the U.S. Army during in World War II. Mr. Gary worked for Fitch Brothers Builders as a carpenter for five years and he loved working in his yard.

Mr. Gary is survived by his wife, Margie Charpentier Gary of Jeanerette; one son, John P. Gary and his wife, Emily S. Gary of Jeanerette; one daughter, Catherine G. Deare and her husband Frederick Deare of Jeanerette; four sisters, Delta Derouen, Corinne Albert and Clara Dooley all of Jeanerette and Lucille Gauthier of Orange, Texas ; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney J. Gary Sr. and Cora Hebert Gary and numerous brothers, and sisters.

Pallbearers will be Frederick and Earl Wesley Deare II, John P., Kevin P. and Christopher J. Gary, and John A. Hebert.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jason Marceaux and Joshua Leger.

The David Funeral Home of Jeanerette is in charge of arrangements.

Lydia M. Harrington

Funeral services for Lydia Marie Harrington, 91, will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Evangeline Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jude Halphen officiating. interment will be in the Memorial park Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary, today at the funeral home, which will reopen at 8 a.m. Wednesday until the time of services.

Mrs. Harrington died at 1 a.m. Monday, June 16, 2003 at Consolata Nursing Home.

She is survived by her daughter, Mary Alleman and her husband, Homer, of New Iberia; four grandchildren, Ronald Alleman, Diane Babin and her husband, Lewis, Herman Alleman and his wife, Catherine and James Alleman all of New Iberia; three granddaughters- in-law whom she also loved very much, Barbara Alleman, Annie Alleman and Carolyn B. Alleman; two brothers, Theodore Harrington of Abbeville and Lloyd Harrington of Temple, Texas ; three sisters, Louise Fritz of New Iberia, Connie Dehart and Laura Mae Harrington, both of Abbeville; nine great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Harrington was preceded in death by her parents, Gustave and Pauline Trahan Harrington; four brothers, Clarfae, Minos, Corenlius and P.F. Harrington and three sisters, Lee Alice Perry, Edna Luquette and Lillian Vaughn.

Pallbearers will be Lewis Babin, Herman, Ron and James Alleman, Hunter Trahan and Travis Champagne.

Honorary pallbearers will be Steven Todd Thompson, B.J. Alleman II, Denny and Mike Louviere, Bryce Quibedeaux and Eddie Ridge.

The Evangeline Funeral Homes, Inc. of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.

Stanley Thomas, Sr.

ABBEVILLE - Services for Stanley Thomas Sr., 50, will begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday at H.G. Raphael's Funeral Home with the Rev. Allen Lopez officiating. interment will be in the St. Paul Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 8 a.m. Wednesday until the time of services.

A resident of Abbeville, Mr. Thomas died at 1:35 p.m. Thursday, June 12, 2003, at Abbeville General Hospital following a brief illness.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Thomas of Abbeville; two sons, Brandon Keith and his wife, Stephanie Thomas of Abbeville and Stanley Thomas Jr., of Lake Charles; three daughters, Janelle and her husband Kevin Broussard of Kaplan, Keisha Thomas and Melana Simone Thomas both of Abbeville; five brothers, Rodney, Terry, Paul, Ray Larry and his wife Sherry, and Donald Sr. and his wife Pearl Elaine Plowden, all of Abbeville; four sisters, Bernadine and her husband Walter Redeaux, Barbara Bessard, Patricia and Lisa Plowden all of Abbeville; two stepsisters, Glenda Williams and Jennifer Harris of Abbeville; three grandchildren, Jakaya, Lacey and Jasmine Broussard; two stepgrandchildren, Ja'Dante and Travion Green and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

Mr. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence Reaux, Jr. and Melinda Plowden; his grandparents, Curley Plowden and Odeal Bowie Plowden and one brother-in-law, Glenn Earl Bessard.

Fletcher Funeral Home of Abbeville is in charge of arrangements.

Grace Jackson

CHENEYVILLE - Services for Grace Jackson , 92, were held today at Christian Cemetery with the Rev. Zachary Young officiating. interment followed the services.

A resident of New Iberia and a former resident of Cheneyville, Mrs. Jackson died Thursday, June 19, 2003, at New Iberia Manor South.

Mrs. Jackson was a member of Beulah Baptist Church, the Home Demonstration Club of Cheneyville, Eureka 10 Bunkie and Eastern Star Martha Chapter 20 Cheneyville.

She is survived by her nephew, C.B. Burley Jr. of Lafayette; four nieces, Elise Mouton of Lafayette, Susan Wimpee of Garland, Texas , Patricia Luning of Conroe, Texas , and Betty Young of New Iberia; and one step-daughter, Helen Alice Harwell of Alexandria.

Mrs. Jackson was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen Rushing Jackson ; her sister, Sara Tanner Burley; and her parents, Early Tanner and Grace Mile Tanner.

Memorials may be made to the Beulah Baptist Church or the Baptist Children's Home in Monroe.

Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie was in charge of arrangements.

Calvin "P.P." Thomas

Loving father, grandfather, and brother

ST. MARTINVILLE - Services for Calvin "P.P." Thomas, 63, will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at Notre Dame Catholic Church with the Rev. A. Arockiam S.V.D. officiating. interment will be in St. Michael Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. today at Golden Meadows Funeral Home with an 8 p.m. rosary. The funeral home will re-open from 7 a.m. Saturday until the time of services.

A native of Broussard and a life-long resident of St. Martinville, Mr. Thomas died Wednesday, June 18, 2003, at Lafayette General Hospital.

He is survived by two sons, Ray Allen Thomas and John Calvin, both of St. Martinville; two daughters, Patricia St. Julien and her husband, Patrick, and Caroline Colomb and her husband, Leonard, both of St. Martinville; three brothers, Morris Thomas Sr. and his wife, Gertie, Jerome Thomas Jr. and his wife, Mary Jane, and Joseph Thomas and his wife, Jane, all of St. Martinville; four sisters, Cecile Sam of St. Martinville, Lucille Thomas, of Donaldsonville, Olla M. Bruno and her husband, Harold, of Carencro, and Carolyn Green and her husband, Floyd, of Houston; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerome Thomas Sr. and Lucille LeBlanc .

Pallbearers will be Gregory Sam, Graylin Sam, Johnell Thomas, August Narcisse, Frederick Mitchell and John Thomas.

The Golden Meadows Funeral Home of St. Martinville is in charge of arrangements.

Elridge Joseph Broussard

Funeral services for Elridge Joseph "Bruce-PaPan" Broussard, 66, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Evangeline Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mike Guidry officiating. Entombment will be in the Holy Family Mausoleum. Military graveside services will be conducted by VFW Post 1982 Honor Guard, New Iberia.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. today with a rosary service at 7 p.m., and will continue from 8 a.m. until the time of services on Monday.

A native and lifelong resident of New Iberia, Mr. Broussard died at 3:05 p.m., Friday, June 20, 2003 at a New Iberia Hospital.

Mr. Broussard was former owner of Mars Electric. He was a retired captain of the New Iberia Fire Department. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. He was an avid follower of horse racing.

He is survived by his wife, Enella Picard Broussard of New Iberia; his son, Tim Broussard of New Iberia; his daughter, Terry Broussard Romero and her husband, Robert J. Romero of New Iberia; his brother, Delton Dore of New Iberia; three sisters, Inez B. Bass and Elsie B. Fremin of New Iberia, and Annie Lou Mestayer of Loreauville; and four grandchildren, Krystal and Tiffany Broussard, and Hallie and Dillon Romero.

Mr. Broussard was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Broussard and Duclecia "Chun" D. Dore, step-father, Wally Dore, and brother Jean "Zan" Broussard.

Pallbearers will be Brian, Lenward, Tim Broussard, Delton Dore, Robert J. Romero, Steven Mestayer and Purvis Picard.

Honorary pallbearers will be Krystal and Tiffany Broussard, Hallie and Dillon Romero and Jeff Delcambre.

Evangeline Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.
