Willie Mae Daye

Services for Mrs. Willie Mae "Tee" Daye, 72, will begin at 7 p.m. today,\ at the Teche United Church of Christ, Morbihan ,with the Rev. Paul Godfrey officiating. interment will be in St. Matthew Cemetery at 11 a.m. Monday.

Visitation will be from 5-10 p.m. today at the church.

A resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Daye died Thursday, June 19, 2003, at Dauterive Hospital following a brief illness.

She was a member of the Teche United Church of Christ, the senior choir, usher board, deaconess, secretary of the women missionary, Earnest Gullet chapter No. 16 Order of the Eastern Star of Louisiana , treasurer of St. Matthew Society, a tutor at Kamp Knighton, member of the Jubilee Singing Convention, a Sunday and Bible school teacher, and she worked for the Iberia Parish School Board as a substitute teacher for many years.

Mrs. Daye is survived by her son, Michael Anthony Daye of Lafayette; her daughter, Evangeline Marie (Van) Daye, of Morbihan; her brother, Lawrence E. Daye Sr. of New Iberia; two sisters, Laura D. Thompson and Gloria M. Daye, both of Morbihan; her godchild, Stephen K. Thompson of Albuquerque, N.M.; her godparents Lawless Sparrow of Morbihan, and Francis Harper, of Los Angeles, Ca.; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Evangeline J. Daye, and her godchild and nephew Lawrence E. Daye Jr.

Pallbearers will be members of the immediate family.

Honorary pallbearers will be Teche United Church of Christ's deacons, ushers and other family members and friends.

Fletcher Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.

Karen F. Tucker

LAFAYETTE - Funeral services for Karen Marie Tucker, the former Karen Fredrickson, 59, will be held at 3 p.m. Monday,\ in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers with the Rev. Duane Petersen officiating. Musical selections of "How Great Thou Art", "Amazing Grace" and "TheOld Rugged Cross", will be sung. interment will be in the Enid Cemetery in Enid, Okla.

Visitation will be from 1-9 p.m. today and continue from 8 a.m. until the time of services on Monday.

A resident of Lafayette, Mrs. Tucker died Saturday, June 21, 2003, at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center following complications from pulmonary fibrosis.

Mrs. Tucker was coordinator of nursing informatics at the LSU University Medical Center in Lafayette, and was the Employee Assistance Professional for nursing at the hospital. She served as facilitator for District IV of the Louisiana State Board of Nursing's Recovery Nurse Program. In 2003, she was recognized as Nurse of the Year. Mrs. Tucker graduated from Naples High School, Naples, Fla. in 1961, and the University of Miami School of Nursing in 1964. She was a registered nurse in Florida and Louisiana . She was a certified addiction professional, board certified substance abuse counselor, registered counselor supervisor, and advanced alcohol and drug counselor.

Mrs. Tucker's devotion to recovery extended around the world through the Nurses in Recovery (NIR) worldwide web page she created, and the NIR electronic discussion forum she maintained for recovering health-care personnel worldwide.

The 1,000 chemical dependency patients she treated and over 200 recovering nurses she intervened upon, monitored, and counseled, gained immensely from the experience, strength and hope she willingly shared. Mrs. Tucker went out of her way, day or night, when a nurse who was in trouble called.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas Tucker of Lafayette; her son, George Pittman of Naples; two daughters, Sheyla Rives of Naples, and Margaret Pittman of Boynton Beach, Fla.,; her mother, Virginia Fredrickson of Naples; three brothers, Wally and Jim Fredrickson, of Naples and John Fredrickson of Valdese, N.C.; four grandchildren, Vanessa, Erica, Jullian, and Jessica Rives, all of Naples; her stepchildren, Doug and Mike Tucker of Houston, and Greg Tucker, currently in The Netherlands, and her step-grandchildren, Kristina and Catherine Tucker of Houston, and Audrey and Rachel Tucker, currently residing in The Netherlands.

Mrs. Tucker was preceded in death by her father, Walter Fredrickson Sr.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Louisiana State Board of Nursing Recovering Nurse Program Memorial Fund, Attention Barbara McGill, 3501 N. Causeway Blvd., Suite 501, Metairie, LA 70002.

Eugene C. Miguez

Services for Mr. Eugene C. Miguez, 75, will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday at St. Peter's Catholic Church. Entombment will be in the Holy Family Mausoleum.

Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday with a rosary service at 7 p.m., and will continue from 8 a.m. until the time of services on Tuesday.

A resident of Lafayette and a former resident of New Iberia, Mr. Miguez died at 12:05 a.m., Saturday, June 21, 2003, at the Medical Center of the Southwest in Lafayette.

Euclide Blanchard

ST. MARTINVILLE - Funeral services for Euclide "Kid" Blanchard, 87, will begin at 3 p.m. today at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church. interment will be in the St. Michael Cemetery.

A resident of St. Martinville, Mr. Blanchard died Thursday, June 26, 2003, at Dauterive Hospital.

He is survived by two daughters, Goldie B. Bourque and her husband, Godfrey, of New Iberia and Mary Ann B. LeBlanc and her husband, Nelson, of St. Martinville; one brother, Howard Blanchard of St. Martinville; two sisters, Lunas Blanchard and Mazel "Mose" Blanchard both of St. Martinville; 7 grandchildren, Godfrey Bourque Jr., of Alice Texas , David Bourque Sr., and his wife, Christine, Deanna Delahoussaye and her husband Danny, all of St. Martinville, Emma Judice and her husband Chris of Loreauville, Mercedes Bourque of Youngsville, Marty Bourque and his wife Marie of New Iberia and Linden Bourque of Miss.; and 12 great-grandchildren, Michael Bourque and his wife, Rochelle, Robert, Jerard, Jenna, Marcelle and David Bourque Jr., Brooks and Kristi Judice, Lacey and Jade Delahoussaye and Ervin and Jake Bares.

Mr. Blanchard was preceded in death by his wife, Mercedes "Petit" Latiolais Blanchard; his parents, Robert and Anaise Blanchard; two brothers, E.J. "Rouse" and Robin Blanchard; three sisters, Regina Laviolette, Lella Boutte and Evelyn Blanchard and two grandchildren, Loretta and Hubert Bourque.

Pallbearers will be grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Pellerin Funeral Home of St. Martinville is in charge of arrangements.

Genevieve O. Olivier

LYDIA - Funeral services for Genevieve "Leah" O. Olivier, 79, the former Genevieve Leah Ozenne, will begin at 12 noon Saturday at St. Nicholas Catholic Church with the Rev. Richard Fabre officiating. Entombment will be in the church mausoleum.

Visitation will be from 8 a.m. until 12 noon with a 10 a.m. rosary at the church.

A resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Olivier died at 8:20 p.m. Monday, June 23, 2003 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical center in Lafayette.

She was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church.

Mrs. Olivier is survived by one son, Peter E. Olivier Jr. and his wife, Rita of River Ridge; one guardian son, Terry Olivier of Grand Marias; four daughters, Janell Rose and her husband Mike, Genever Hill and her husband Dale, Geraldine Lewis and her husband Ronald, all of Grand Marias and Janice Rochon of Lafayette; one brother, George Ozenne Jr. and his wife, Rose, of Santa Rosa Calif.; two sisters, Bertha Guillory and her husband Marshall, of San Francisco, and Pearl Olivier of Long Beach Calif.; one sister-in-law, Ida Ozenne, of Hayward Calif.; seven grandchildren, Ashley Rochon, Benji Rose and his wife, Erica, Randy Rochon Jr., Chelsea Rose, Angelle Lewis, Kerry Hill, and Kaitlin Lewis; two great-grandchildren, Kennedy and Broderick Rose and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter E. Olivier Sr.; her parents, George Sr. and Lucille O. Ozenne; one brother, Louis Ozenne Sr. and one sister, Gertrude St. Julien.

Pallbearers will be Dale and Kerry Hill, Ronald Lewis, Peter E. Olivier Jr. Ashley and Randy Rochon Jr., Benji and Michael Rose.

Honorary pallbearers will be John Leroy Boutte, Rodney Frilot, James Mitchell, Harry Olivier Jr., Leonard, Paul, Rocky, Spellman and Terry Olivier, Irving Sigur Jr., Ted St. Julien, Luke Kernie Tauriac and Dr. Earl Washington Jr.

Howard J. Hebert

NEW ORLEANS - Funeral services for Howard Joseph Hebert, 85, will begin at 11 a.m. Monday, at Mary Joseph Residence. interment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery.

On Sunday, there will be a prayer service at 4:30 p.m. with visitation until 9 p.m. at Mary Joseph Residence and will resume at 9 a.m. Monday until the time of services.

A native of Loreauville, a past resident of New Orleans and Gretna, and a resident of Mary Joseph Residence for the Elderly for six years, Mr. Hebert died at 7:40 p.m. Tuesday, June 24, 2003.

He was an honorary member of the Knights of Columbus Council 2918, member of Legion of Mary and West Bank Parkinson's Group. He attended Manresa retreats and was a lector at St. Patrick's Church in New Orleans for 30 years.

Mr. Hebert is survived by his beloved wife, Maureen Plauche Hebert; one sister, Lorraine Matranga and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Delmas A. Hebert and Eve Ste'Marie Hebert and a sister, Emelia Barnwell.

Memorial contributions may be made to Little Sisters of the Poor, 4201 Woodlawn Dr., New Orleans, LA. 70131.

All Faiths Funeral Home of New Orleans is in charge of arrangements.

Ruby D. Courts

Funeral services for Mrs. Frank R. Courts, 84, the former Ruby Deslatte will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, at Evangeline Funeral Home with the Rev. Ed Degeyter. interment will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. today with a 7 p.m. rosary at the funeral home, which will reopen at 8 a.m. Saturday until the time of services.

A native of Jeanerette, and past resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Courts died at 10 p.m. Thursday, June 26, 2003 at Iberia General Medical Center.

She is survived by her husband, Frank R. Courts, of New Iberia; one daughter, Katherine (Kitty) Courts, of New Iberia; one sister, Marguerite Atkins of Apex, N.C.; and two granddaughters, Jackie Johnson and Jennifer Johnson both of New Iberia.

Mrs. Courts was preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Lilie Deslatte; one brother, Michael Deslatte and one sister, Pauline Hamilton.

Pallbearers will be Leigh and Charles McGowen, John Edward Courrege, Billy Gesser, Henry Porter and Fred Kyle.

Honorary pallbearers will be Roland Haydel, David Dupuy, Dr. Oscar Alverez, Edwin Kyle, Paul Gulotta, Dr. Ken Brown Jr., Dr. Cornelius Voorhies, Lloyd Porter Jr., Tommy Marsh and Bill Kyle.

Evangeline Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.

Alfred Baudoin

HENRY - Funeral services for Alfred Baudoin, 56, will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. John Catholic Church. interment will be in the Lee Cemetery.

Visitation will be until 10 p.m. today with a 7 p.m. rosary, at David Funeral Home, Abbeville, which will reopen at 8 a.m. Saturday until the time of services.

A resident of Erath, Mr. Baudoin died at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 26, 2003 at Abbeville General Hospital.
