Betty M. Gautreaux

Services for Mrs. Evans Paul Gautreaux, the former Betty Moulin, 70, will begin at 9 a.m. Monday at Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church with Father Albert Boumans officiating. Entombment will be in Lake Lawn Mausoleum in Metairie.

Visitation will be observed today from 4 to 8 p.m. at David Mortuary, which will reopen Monday from 8 a.m. until the time of services. A Rosary will be recited tonight at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

A native of New Orleans and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Gautreaux died at 7:40 a.m. Friday, Oct. 3, 1997, at her residence.

She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Gautreaux is survived by four sons and their wives, Paul and Susan Gautreaux of New Iberia, James and Molly Gautreaux and Tom and Suzi Gautreaux, all of Loreauville and John and Barbara Gautreaux of St. Martinville; one daughter and her husband, Janet and Mark Barrilleaux of Kenner; 10 grandchildren, Michael Gautreaux and Dana Gautreaux, both of Lafayette, Wesley Gautreaux, Steven Gautreaux and Daniel Gautreaux, all of New Iberia, Lisa Gautreaux, Paige Gautreaux and Jacob Gautreaux, all of Loreauville, and Bonnie Barrilleaux and Katie Barrilleaux, both of Kenner; two step-grandchildren, Shane Touchet and Larry Touchet Jr., both of St. Martinville; and one sister-in-law, Hazel Gautreaux of Belle Chase.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Evans Paul Gautreaux; her father, Thomas Edwin Moulin; and her mother, Myrtle Garrity Moulin.

Pallbearers will be Paul Gautreaux, John Gautreaux, James Gautreaux, Tom Gautreaux, Wesley Gautreaux and Michael Gautreaux.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Iberia Humane Society, Troy Road, New Iberia.

David Mortuary of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.

Evelyn D. Lockard

Memorial services for Evelyn D. Lockard, 73, are scheduled for Monday morning at the David Mortuary Chapel.

A resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Lockard died Saturday, Oct. 4, 1997 at her residence.

No visitation will be held prior to the memorial service.

She is survived by one son, Kyle Lockard of New Iberia; three daughters, Charlotte Thompson and Peggy Morton, both of Houston, and Debbie Lockard of Broussard; one sister, Dot Daigle of New Iberia; three half-sisters, Barbara Daigle and Willie Daigle, both of Carencro, and Sandra Daigle of Kaplan; three half-brothers, Daniel Daigle and Gerald Daigle, both of Scott, and Ray Daigle of Lafayette; six grandchildren, January Arcement and Samantha Morton, both of New Iberia, Chad Thompson and Beau James Mayne, both of Houston, Shawn Thompson of Germany and Jerry Morton of Boston, Mass.; four great-grandchildren, Hunter Arcement, Cody Gary and Amber Broussard, all of New Iberia, and Johnathan Morton of Germany.

Mrs. Lockard was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Raymond Lockard; her mother, Bertha Verret Daigle; her father, Willie Daigle, and one grandson, Zachary Morton.

David Mortuary of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.

Ignace Peltier

ERATH - Services for Ignace Peltier, 81, will begin at 3 p.m. today at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with the Rev. Wayne Duet officiating. Entombment will be in the church mausoleum.

Visitation was held Saturday from 4 to 10 p.m. at Broussard Funeral Home, which reopened today at 8 a.m.

Mr. Peltier died at 12:35 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, 1997 at Abbeville General Hospital.

He is survived by his former wife, Lulla Mae Trahan of New Iberia; one son, Jerry James Peltier of Sulphur; two sisters, Mrs. George (Zola) Potter of Port Arthur, Texas , and Mrs. Lorenznie Bourque of Abbeville; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Mr. Peltier was preceded in death by his wives, Nilta Landry and Amy Gaspard; his parents, Amaedues and Alisa Norman Peltier; two sisters, Esther (Sis) Peltier and Wilda Peltier Doucet; and one brother, Otto Peltier.

Pallbearers will be Gary Peltier, Nerry Romero, Timmy Landry and Carroll, Curtis, Calvin, Saul and Corey Touchet.

Broussard Funeral Home of Erath is in charge of arrangements.

Benjamin C. Nelson

Services for Benjamin Carl Nelson, 18 months, will begin at 2 p.m. Monday at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church with the Rev. Steven LeBlanc officiating. interment will be in St. Michael's Cemetery in St. Martinville.

Visitation will be held today from 4:30 to 10 p.m. at David Mortuary with a rosary to be recited at 8 p.m. The funeral home will reopen Monday at 9 a.m. until the time of services.

A native and resident of New Iberia, Nelson died at 11:20 a.m. Friday, Oct. 3, 1997, at Shriners Hospital in Galveston, Texas .

He is survived by his father, Thomas Nelson of New Iberia; his mother, Angela Faye Broussard Nelson of New Iberia; three brothers, Jake Fred Meyers, Ethan Kenneth Nelson and Nicholas Andrew Nelson, all of New Iberia; his grandmother, Armine Steele of New Iberia; his step-grandfather, Roy Steele Sr. of New Iberia; and three great-grandmothers, Julie Broussard of St. Martinville, Jewel Gibson of Andrews, Texas , and Olive Martin of New Iberia.

He was preceded in death by two grandfathers, Fred Joseph Broussard and Kenneth Nelson; and one grandmother, Joyce Nelson.

Pallbearers will be Steven Babineaux, Rocky Boutte, Raymond Boutte Jr. and Alwin Boutte. Honorary pallbearers will be Darryl Walker, Rainey Frederick, Lloyd LeBlanc , Matt Randazzo and Raymond Boutte Sr.

David Mortuary of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.

Nelson Thibodeaux Sr.

MERMENTAU - Services for Nelson A. Thibodeaux Sr., 75, will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at St. John the Evangelist Church with the Rev. Paul Metrejean officiating. interment will be in Highland Memory Gardens in Lake Charles.

Visitation will be begin at 11 a.m. today and continue until the time of services. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. tonight at Matthews and Son Funeral Home of Jennings.

A native and lifelong resident of Mermentau Cove, Mr. Thibodeaux died at 1:10 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, 1997 at his residence.

He was a field representative for Barod Petroleum.

Mr. Thibodeaux is survived by his wife, Amy Dolmage Thibodeaux of Mermentau Cove and formerly of Lake Charles; one son, Eugene Thibodeaux of Lake Charles; three stepsons, Jack Dolmage of Lake Charles, Kenneth Dolmage of Harrison, Ark. and Donald Dolmage of Houston; three daughters, Patricia Amerson of Hamshire, Texas , Mrs. Huey (Rowena) Delahoussaye of New Iberia and Mrs. Carl (Sherry) Smith of Eunice; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Evie Tramonte of Lake Charles; two brothers, Wilton Thibodeaux of Crowley and Enos Thibodeaux Jr. of Winnie, Texas ; one sister, Wilda Thibodeaux of Winnie' one grandchild; two great-grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren, and 13 step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Esther Vincent Thibodeaux; one son, Nelson Thibodeaux Jr.; one brother, Leo Thibodeaux; and one sister, Flossie Stutes.

Matthews and Son Funeral Home of Jennings is in charge of arrangements.

Chrystalie Benoit

LOREAUVILLE - Services for Chrystalie Benoit, the former Chrystalie Antoine, 54, will begin at 10 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church with the Rev. John V. Choorackunnel officiating. interment will be in St. Joseph Catholic Church cemetery.

Visitation will be held today from 4 to 10 p.m. at Fletcher Funeral Home with a rosary scheduled for 6:30 p.m. The funeral home will reopen Monday at 7 a.m. with the procession going to Loreauville at 9:30 a.m.

A native of Loreauville and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Benoit died at 12:37 p.m. Friday, Sept. 26, 1997, at her residence following a brief illness.

She is survived by her husband, Wilbert Benoit of New Iberia; her mother, Josephine Mitchell of Loreauville; three brothers, Paul Mitchell of St. Martinville, Thomas Mitchell of Loreauville and Gilbert Mitchell of New Iberia; four sisters, Sally Lavine of Morbihan, Virginia Thompson of Victoria, Texas , Lou Ann Noel of Port Lavaca, Texas , and Carolyn Wysner of Lancaster, Texas ; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Benoit was preceded in death by her father, Calvin Antoine; three children, Patricia, Patrick and Coretta Amos; one brother, Stanley Mitchell Jr., and her grandparents.

Pallbearers will be members of the immediate family.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the immediate family.

Fletcher Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.

Genevieve B. Belanger

Services for Mrs. Joel Luke Belanger Sr., 62, the former Genevieve "Jenny" Broussard will begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday, at Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church with the Rev. Albert Boumans officiating. Entombment will be in the church mausoleum.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Tuesday with a 7 p.m. rosary at David Mortuary, which will reopen at 10 a.m. Wednesday until the time of services.

A native of Delcambre and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Belanger died at 1:05 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 5, 1997, at her residence.

She was a retired sales clerk of Sears and Roebuck, a member of Bayou Sugar Belles Club, a member of the Nativity Birthday Club and a volunteer at St. Francis Diner for Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church.

Mrs. Belanger is survived by her husband, Joel Luke Belanger Sr. of New Iberia; her mother, Jeanne B. Sonnier Creduer of New Iberia; one son, Arthur "Artie" Verret Jr. of New Iberia; one stepson, Joel Luke Belanger II of Erath, two daughters, Belinda Verret Boudreaux and Elizabeth Joy "Liz" Verret Fielding, both of New Iberia; two stepdaughters, Michelle Belanger Fontenot of Delcambre and Renee' Belanger Thompson of Coushatta; one brother, J.R. "Bruce" Broussard of New Iberia; one sister, Priscilla Ann Armentor of Delcambre; 15 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her father, Isaac Joseph Broussard Sr.; and one brother, Isaac Joseph Broussard Jr.

Pallbearers will be Joel Luke Belanger Sr., Kirk Boudreaux, Richard Fielding Sr., Troy Fontenot, Rev. Scott E. Thompson and Artie Verret.

Honorary pallbearers will be Duane Armentor, Joel Luke Belanger II, Beau Boudreaux, Brandon Fielding, Ricky Fielding and Cody Fontenot.

The David Mortuary of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.

Dulva Mler Sr.

Services for Dulva "Pop" Mler Sr., 98, were held today at 10 a.m. at David Mortuary. Internment was in Ebenezer Cemetery in Crowley.

A native of Lawrence Point and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Mler died at 9:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, 1997, at Columbia Dauterive Hospital.
