Anna G. Bonin

BALDWIN - Services for Mrs. George Bonin Jr., 77, the former Anna Gonsoulin, will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Bill Melancon officiating. Entombment will be in the church mausoleum.

Visitation will be from 6-10 p.m. today with a 7 p.m. rosary at Landry-David Funeral Home in Jeanerette, which will reopen at 8 a.m. Tuesday until the time of services.

A resident of Jeanerette, Mrs. Bonin died at 9:25 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 5, 1997, at Iberia Medical Center.

She was a housewife.

Mrs. Bonin is survived by two sons, Carroll Bonin and Michael Bonin, both of Jeanerette; one daughter, Mrs. Willis (Sherald) Theriot of Jeanerette; one son-in-law, Willis Theriot of Jeanerette; one daughter-in-law, Catherine Landry Bonin of Jeanerette; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Bonin Jr.; her parents, Homer and Mathilda Faucheaux Gonsoulin; and two sisters, Mrs. Oswald (Edith) Landry and Mrs. Allen (Joyce) Buteau.

Pallbearers will be Willis Theriot, Joel Darby, Jason Bonin, Jude Bonin, Allen Landry and Homer Peter Buteau.

The Landry-David Funeral Home of Jeanerette is in charge of arrangements.

Edman Legnon

ERATH - Services for Edman Legnon, 83, were held at 11 a.m. today at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with the Rev. Wayne Duet officiating. interment was in the church cemetery.

Mr. Legnon died at 4:16 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 5, 1997, at Abbeville General Hospital.

The Broussard Funeral Home of Erath was in charge of arrangements.

Aristilde J. Richard

LOREAUVILLE - Services for Aristilde Joseph Richard, 89, will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with the Rev. Charles Thevis officiating. Entombment will be in the church mausoleum.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today with a 7 p.m. rosary at Evangeline Funeral Home, which will reopen at 8 a.m. Wednesday until the time of services.

A native of Loreauville and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Richard died at 12:55 a.m. Monday, Oct. 6, 1997, in a local nursing home.

He was a retired diesel mechanic.

Mr. Richard is survived by his wife, Hazel Landry Richard of New Iberia; two sons, Michael Richard of Houston and Jude Richard of New Iberia; two daughters, Melanie Lalande and Serena Musso, both of New Iberia; one sister, Leona Chatagnier of Catahoula; nine grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Oleus and Amelie Gonsoulin Richard; one brother, Joseph Richard; and one sister, Claudia Richard.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Acadiana, 2600 Johnston St., Lafayette, La. 70503.

Pallbearers will be Michael Musso, Mathew Musso, Mark Musso, Robert Musso, Frank Musso and Hayward Bonin Sr.

The Evangeline Funeral Home Inc. of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.

Clifton Lee

Services for Clifton "Buggywhip" Lee, 72, will begin at 7 p.m. today at St. Edwards Catholic Church with Thomas James officiating. Dismissal services will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday at Journet and Bolden Funeral Home. interment will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. today at Journet and Bolden Funeral Home, which will reopen at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday.

A native of Youngsville and resident of Port Arthur, Texas , for 53 years, Mr. Lee died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 1997, at St. Mary Hospital in Port Arthur.

He was a member of the International Longshoreman Association Local No. 1175, after merging two unions, he retired in 1983.

Mr. Lee is survived by three brothers, Sidney Lee and Lloyd J. Lee, both of New Iberia, and Whitney P. Lee of Houston; one sister, Ethel L. Savone of Lake Charles; a friend, Jennie Veal of Port Arthur; three sisters-in-law, Delores Lee and Annie Mae Lee, both of New Iberia, and Catherine Lee of Houston; and a host nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Rose Parker Lee Sr.; two brothers, Issac Lee and Willie Lee Jr.; and one nephew, Lloyd James Lee Jr.

Pallbearers will be friends and family members.

The Journet and Bolden Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.

Preston J. LeLeux

Memorial services for Preston Joseph LeLeux, 67, will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church with the Rev. Daniel Picard officiating.

A native of New Iberia and resident of Baton Rouge, Mr. LeLeux died at 9:21 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, 1997, at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge.

He was a salesman and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

Mr. LeLeux is survived by one son, Kenneth LeLeux of New Iberia; two daughters, Kay LeLeux Lancon of Lafayette and Virginia LeLeux McGee of New Iberia; one brother, Shelton LeLeux of Cade; one sister, Lena Mae LeLeux Gonsoulin of New Iberia; and 11 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ozaire and Elsie Rogers LeLeux; two brothers, Leroy LeLeux and Leward LeLeux; and one sister, Lucy LeLeux Broom.

The Jacquemoud-David Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.

Rev. Arthur L. Breaux Sr.

Services for Rev. Arthur Lee Breaux Sr., 65, will begin at 8 p.m. today at Star Pilgrim Baptist Church with the Rev. Ivory Ledet officiating. interment will be in the Mount Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Petit Anse at 10 a.m. Thursday. Military rites will be conducted by the VFW Post 1982.

Visitation will be from 4-10 p.m. today at the church, which will reopen at 7 a.m. Thursday until the time of services.

A native of Lafayette and resident of New Iberia for many years, Mr. Breaux died at 6:50 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 5, 1997, at Iberia Medical Center following a brief illness.

He was associate pastor of Second Missionary Baptist Church in Jeanerette and the Star Pilgrim Baptist Church in New Iberia for many years. He served in the United States Marine Corp. and was a retired carpenter.

Mr. Breaux is survived by his wife, Stella Brown Breaux of New Iberia; two sons, Arthur Lee Breaux Jr. and Raymond Washington of Lafayette; one son-in-law, John F. Plumber of Lafayette; five daughters, Patricia Clay and Becky B. Plumber, both of Lafayette, Shirley Breaux Wingwood of Austin, Texas , Rose Mary Brown and Shakeithia Breaux, both of New Iberia; one daughter-in-law, Sheila L. Davis of Lafayette; three brothers, Pat Breaux, Allen Breaux and Robert Breaux, all of Lafayette; three sisters, Laura Malveaux, Anita Smith and Alice Faye Colomb, all of Lafayette; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Junius Breaux and Alice Dore Breaux Porter; two sisters, Dorothy Francis and Salome Leblue; and one brother, Albert Breaux.

Pallbearers will be Arthur Lee Breaux Jr., John F. Plumber, Calvin Jenkins, Kevin Singleton, Darrel Singleton Jr. and Wilson Shello III.

Honorary pallbearers will be Sonny Malveaux, Lucius Colomb, Calvin Smith, Lecuir Breaux, Rev. Arthur Lee Alexander and Rev. Ferris Martin.

The Fletcher Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.

Cloys F. Brooks

FRANKLIN - Services for Cloys Frederick Brooks will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at Ibert's Mortuary. interment will be in the Franklin Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. today at Ibert's Mortuary which will reopen at 8 a.m. Thursday.

A resident of Franklin, Mr. Brooks died Monday, Oct. 6, 1997, at Franklin Nursing Home.

He is survived by two sons, Patrick Brooks of Slaida, Calif., and Frederick Brooks of Franklin; three daughters, Patricia B. Rodriguez of Bush, Susie B. Massicot of Lafayette and Marie H. Alaniz of Ricohoc; 19 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and numerous great-great-grandchildren;

Mr. Brooks was preceded in death by his parents, James Monroe and Susie Warren Brooks; a daughter, Barbara H. Gautreaux; and a brother, Virgil Brooks.

Ibert's Mortuary of Franklin is in charge of arrangements.
