TREECE

Mabel Bain Treece, 80, Passed away on Friday, Sept. 3, 2010, at 5 p.m.

She was the wife of the late Buddy Treece and mother of Dan (Diane) Martin of Mandeville, Scott (Sally) Martin of LaPlace and Marty Martin of LaPlace. She was grandmother of Danielle, Summer, Shelbi and Jordan Martin and great-grandmother of Chloe, Gage and Kalab Fejka.

She was the daughter of Mark Earl Bain and Sue Lewis.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, Sept. 11, 2010, at the St. Peter Cemetery in Reserve at 10 a.m.

Arrangements are under the direction of H. C. Alexander Funeral Home in Lutcher

CROSSON

Miriam Crosson, 61, Passed away Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2010. She was a native of New York but lived in Norco for the past year.

She is survived by her four sons: James Knobloch (Amy) of Norco, Joseph Knoblock (fiancée Kristy) of Georgia and Kenneth and Kyle Crosson of Pennsylvania ; and three grandchildren: Amanda, Joseph and Alexis Wilkins.

Visitation will be held from 9-11 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2010, at the H. C. Alexander Funeral Home in Norco. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. from the funeral home with the Rev. Terry Becnel officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Southern Care of Houma, 108-B W. Main St., Thibodaux, LA 70301

Arrangements are under the direction of H. C. Alexander Funeral Home in Norco.

BERGET

At 3 p.m., Monday, Sept. 13, Doris Marie Landry Berget, a 30-year resident of LaPlace, passed peacefully after a long illness. She was born in New Orleans on March 8, 1935, to Joseph and Amalize Ordoyne Landry. Three other siblings, Joseph Jr., Rita Mae Boudreaux and James, all deceased, were waiting for her at the Gates.

She married Dick “Pearly” Berget, a guitarist for the Lawrence Welk Rep. Show, in 1952. Her husband of 31 years, he passed in 1983 and has been waiting for her to join him for 27 years.

Together they had four children, Dick “Butch” Jr., Debra L. Mustin, Donald and Diana L. Hager and an adopted daughter, Delilah, all living and missing her.

She is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

At her request, a simple, graveside service will be held Saturday, Sept. 18, at 6 p.m. at the St. John Memorial Gardens Cemetery on Airline Highway in LaPlace. All are welcome. A private reception will follow.

It was Doris’ request that guests not bring her flowers.

Instead, she asked that they give flowers to someone still alive that they care about. (Mama had a way of being direct).

Her son will sing a special tribute song that he wrote for his mother.

Please come and celebrate with the family and friends.

BOURGEOIS

Jerry J. “Jack” Bourgeois Sr., born March 28, 1941, Passed away Saturday, Nov. 20, 2010, at the age of 69. He was the loving husband of Janet D. Bourgeois for 49 years, father of Deborah B. Veron (Brent), Jerry Bourgeois Jr. (Put) and Shane Bourgeois (Linda), and grandfather of Josh and Ryan Veron and Michael Bourgeois.

He was the son of the late John and Anna Mae Bourgeois and brother of Morris and Ronald Bourgeois and the late Mark, Kelvin and Craig Bourgeois.

He was a U.S. Army veteran and retired from Kaiser Aluminum after 30 years.

A funeral Mass was held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 2130 Rectory St., Paulina on Tuesday, Nov. 23, followed by interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Paulina.

BROWN

Aline Elizabeth Brown, 54, Passed away on Nov. 20, 2010. In celebration of her life, a gathering of family and friends will be held Saturday, Nov. 27, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 61269 Beulah St., Lacombe.

She was the daughter of Albert Sidney Brown III and Juanita Stansbury Brown. Born in Jeanerette on Feb. 3, 1956, she lived in LaPlace before settling in Lacombe.

At the time of her death she was a longtime employee of Hughes Supply in Luling.

She is survived by sisters Pat (Ted) Norris of Lugoff, S.C. and Janine (Mike) McDougall of Lacombe, brother Jake (Dawn) of LaPlace and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, who affectionately called her Lee Lee.

Aline was an avid gardener. The love of her life was family, and she especially enjoyed outings to the Tennessee mountains and Disney World. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

GAUDET

Faye Ann Roussel Gaudet, 71, Passed away Thursday, Nov. 18, 2010.

Gaudet retired as a secretary from the St. James Parish School System. She was also a part-time worker at the St. James Parish Library.

She is survived by her mother, Margorie G. Roussel; two sons, Wade and Leiand Gaudet; a daughter, Nicole Gaudet; two stepchildren, Rhonda G. Smith and Vernon J. Gaudet Jr.; two daughters-in-law, Paula and Mary; two sons-in-law, Kevin and Jackie; two sisters, Audrey Vicknair and June Laiche; and three brothers, Erwin, Dean and Brian Roussel. She is also survived by a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends.

Gaudet was preceded in death by husband Vernon J. Gaudet, infant daughter Jacquelyn, father Romé Roussel, two brothers, Alton “Buster” and Artidore “Pal” Roussel, and three sisters, Nellie Bourgeois, Ann Vanasse and Marie Mae “Gal” Bourgeois.

Visitation and a prayer service were held at H.C. Alexander Funeral Home in Lutcher on Sunday, Nov. 21. A memorial Mass was celebrated Monday, Nov. 22, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paulina. interment was private.

FAUCHEUX

Ferducie J. “Pat” Faucheux, Jr., age 79, Passed away on Sunday, Nov. 28, 2010, at the River Parishes Hospital in LaPlace. He was a native of Vacherie and worked as a carpenter for Colonial Sugars for 40 years. He was a veteran of the United States Army in the Korean Conflict. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Solange Martin Roussel Faucheux; one daughter, Linda Bush (husband Shayne); five sons: Carey Roussel (wife Jane), Danny Roussel (wife Sue), Ronald Roussel (wife Vanessa), Morgan Roussel IV and Mickey Roussel (wife Sonya); sister, Orabelle F. Simon; brother, George Faucheux; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Geraldine Daigle; parents, Ferducie J. Faucheux Sr. and Martha Haas; sister, Maria F. Simon; and brother, Paul Faucheux.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, Nov. 30, from 8 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paulina. Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 a.m. from the church with Fr. Mark Beard officiant. Military Honors will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery in Paulina.

ROUSSEL

Marilyn Francis Roussel Passed away peacefully at the age of 66 at Our Lady of the Lake on Monday, Nov. 29, 2010.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gloria Wessing Stuart and Ervin Peterson, sons, Brandon and Doug, and brother, Cecil Stuart Jr.

She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Elliot J. Roussel Jr., son Scott Levy, brother Harvey Stuart, several nieces, nephews and grandchildren.

Private funeral services were held on Thursday, Dec. 2, 2010. She was laid to rest at the Garden of Memories Mausoleum in Metairie, La.

H. C. Alexander Funeral Home in Lutcher was in charge of the arrangements.
