Ira R. Daigle Sr.

JEANERETTE - Services for Ira R. Daigle Sr., 73, will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with the Rev. Ed Degeyter officiating. interment will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5:30-10 p.m. today with a 7 p.m. rosary at David and Landry Funeral Home, which will reopen at 8 a.m. Tuesday until the time of services.

A native of New Orleans and resident of Jeanerette, Mr. Daigle died at 2:25 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 23, 1997, at Maison Teche Nursing Home.

He was retired from AMOCO/Cropmate after 35 years of service. Mr. Daigle was a U.S. Army veteran, a life member and past post commander of the VFW Post 8150, a life member of the American Legion Post 26 and a member of the 50 Plus Club.

Mr. Daigle is survived by his wife, Lorraine Migues Daigle of Jeanerette; two sons, Louis P. Daigle and Ira R. Daigle Jr., both of Jeanerette; one stepson, Brad Louviere Sr. of Jeanerette; one daughter, Lana Daigle Rentz of Jeanerette; one stepdaughter, Janis Louviere Helms of Jeanerette; two brothers, Charles Daigle and Leroy Daigle, both of Jeanerette; two sisters, Doris Kapp of Lydia and Geraldine Moresi of Jeanerette; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; 10 stepgrandchildren; and six stepgreat-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis P. Daigle and Beatrice Martin Daigle and one sister, Louise Frisco.

Pallbearers will be Brent Daigle, Clint Daigle, Graig Helms, Kevin Helms, Brad Louviere Jr. and Sean McGee.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ira R. Daigle Jr., Louis P. Daigle, Kline Rentz, Brad Louviere Sr., Wallace Helms, Booby Robinson, Eugene Vincent, V.J. Broussard, Chad Helms and Brian Helms.

The David and Landry Funeral Home of Jeanerette is in charge of arrangements.

Lores Savoy Sr.

YOUNGSVILLE - Services for Lores Savoy Sr., 76, will begin at 1:30 p.m. today at St. Anne Catholic Church. Entombment will be in the church mausoleum.

Visitation will be at David Funeral Home until the time of services today.

A native and resident of Youngsville, Mr. Savoy died at 4:05 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, 1997, at his residence.

The David Funeral Home of Broussard is in charge of arrangements.

Beale Veney Jr.

ABBEVILLE - Services for Beale "Bud" Veney Jr., 54, will begin at 7 p.m. Friday at St. Mary Congregational Church with the Rev. Kevin A. Williams officiating. interment will be at 12 p.m. Saturday in the Beau Pre Cemetery in Jeanerette.

Visitation will be from 4-10 p.m. Friday at the church, which will reopen at 7 a.m. Saturday.

A native of Richmond, Va., and resident of New Iberia for three years, Mr. Veney died at 1:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 20, 1997, at Abbeville General Hospital following a brief illness.

He is survived by his wife, Bernestine Robinson Veney of New Iberia; his mother and stepfather, Margaret Lovery Jackson and Reginald Jackson of Heathsville, Va.; five sons, Terrence Veney of Virginia, Lance Carbins of Morgan City, Demetrick Bessard of Abbeville, Anthony Veney and Carray Veney, both of New Iberia; 10 daughters, Latoya Veney, Shaquenia Veney, Margaret Veney and Keiwanna Bessard, all of Abbeville, Arline Veney and Candice Veney, both of New Iberia, Yolanda Maxile, Joan Jones and Jolynn Steel, all of Morgan City, and Morticia Tomlin of Virginia; one stepdaughter, Malecka Robinson of New Iberia; three brothers, Charles Veney of Dunsville, Va., Eugene Veney of Abbeville and Louis Bernard Veney Sr. of Virginia; one sister, Beatrice Kenner of Philadelphia; 23 grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mr. Veney was preceded in death by his father, Beale Veney Sr.; and one son, James Rodney Veney.

Pallbearers will be Donald Ray Levy, Wayne Brown, Felton Wiltz Sr., Larry Bailey, Augusta Johnson and Guzi Brown.

Honorary pallbearers will be Terrence Veney, Anthony Veney, Lance Carbins, Demetrick Bessard, Corray Veney and Brandon Maxile.

The Fletcher Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.

Effie W. Ardoin

ABBEVILLE - Services for Effie W. Ardoin, 88, the former Effie Wiliams, will begin at 1 p.m. Friday at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church with the Rev. Mark Derise officiating. interment will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-10 p.m. today with a 7 p.m. rosary at Fletcher Funeral Home Chapel, which will reopen at 7 a.m. Friday until the time of services.

A resident of Abbeville, Mrs. Ardoin died at 11:15 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 16, 1997, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home following a lengthy illness.

She was a member of theSt. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Peter Claver Ladies Auxiliary Court No. 77 of Abbeville.

Mrs. Ardoin is survived by one son, Lawrence Ardoin Jr. of San Francisco; three daughters, Eloise Jones and Mary Campbell, both of Abbeville, and Rosa Mae Boutte of Crowley; three brothers, Ernest Williams, Francis Williams and Clarence Williams, all of Abbeville; two sisters, Beulah Williams and Nolia Brannon, both of Abbeville; two sons-in-law; two daughters-in-law; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 33 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Ardoin Sr.; her parents, Hypolite and Zemma Menard Williams Sr.; three brothers, Freddie Williams, Edward Williams and Hypolite Williams Jr.; and two sisters, Polia Williams and Nora Williams.

Pallbearers will be members of the immediate family.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the family.

Rose J. Vital

LOREAUVILLE - Services for Rose Marie Vital, 73, the former Rose Marie Johnson , will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church with the Rev. John Vianney Choorackunnel C.M.I. officiating. interment will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3-10 p.m. Friday with a 7 p.m. rosary at Fletcher Funeral Home Chapel in New Iberia, which will reopen from 7-9:30 a.m. Saturday.

A resident of Loreauville, Mrs. Vital died at 12:15 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21, 1997, at Iberia Medical Center following a lengthy illness.

She was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church and a member of the Ladies Altar Society.

Mrs. Vital is survived by her husband, Otto Vital Sr. of Loreauville; two sons, Otto Vital Jr. of New Iberia and John A. Vital of New Orleans; three daughters, Mary Vital Hartman of Morgan City, Carolyn Vital Joseph of New Iberia and Wanda Vital Nora of Loreauville; two brothers, Joseph Davis of Loreauville and Lawrence Johnson of Houston; five sisters, Althea Jefferson , Vernice Johnson and Mary Lollie, all of New Iberia, Louise Miles of Rochester, New York, and Bernice Johnson of Houston; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gabriel and Anne Anthony Johnson ; one son, Mark Steven Vital Sr.; one grandson, Mark Steven Vital Jr.; three brothers, Harold Anthony, Gerald Anthony and Alvin Broussard; and two sisters, Elizabeth Johnson and Cora Jeanlouis.

Pallbearers will be David Anthony Sr., John Anthony, Keith Conner, Garrett Fontenot, Dennis Vital Sr. and Isaias Vital Sr.

Honorary pallbearers will be George Anthony, Joseph Davis, Herman Hartman Sr., Lawerence Johnson , David Miles and Gene Nora Sr.

Daniel J. Gonsoulin

LYDIA - Services for Daniel Jacques Gonsoulin, 72, will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Nicholas Catholic Church with the Rev. Manny Fernandez officiating. Entombment will be in the Holy Family Mausoleum.

Visitation will be from 2-10 p.m. today with a 7 p.m. rosary at Evangeline Funeral Home, which will reopen at 8 a.m. Saturday until the time of services.

A native of New Iberia, Mr. Gonsoulin died at 11:45 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, 1997, at his residence following a lengthy illness.

He was a sugar cane farmer for the past 50 years, a member and past board member of the Iberia Parish Farm Bureau, a member and past board member of the State Farm Bureau, a member of the American Sugar Cane League, Iberia Sugar Coop, a member and past board member of Teche Farm Supply, served on the Board of Directors for City Bank and Trust and was co-owner of Gonsoulin Brothers Inc.

Mr. Gonsoulin is survived by his wife, Hazel Barrilleaux Gonsoulin of New Iberia; four sons, Daniel E. Gonsoulin, Randy M. Gonsoulin, Mark P. Gonsoulin and Chris J. Gonsoulin, all of New Iberia; one daughter, Lori Gonsoulin Hebert of New Iberia; two brothers, Ulysse Gonsoulin Jr. and Andrew Gonsoulin, both of New Iberia; seven sisters, Alma Kilchrist, Eunice Thibodeaux, Jeanette "Beb" Richard, Alice Estilette and Lucille "Sis" Taylor , all of New Iberia, Florence "Flo" Gossen of Lafayette, and Nolie "Sweet" Lastrappes of St. Martinville; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ulysse A. and Edna Berard Gonsoulin Sr.; one son, Glenn Joseph Gonsoulin; and two sisters, Edna G. Hayes and Louise G. Kilchrist.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Gonsoulin, Keith Gonsoulin, Ryan Gonsoulin, Brett Gonsoulin, Brodie Gonsoulin and Beau Hebert.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Adams, Pete Dorsey, L.J. Hebert, Nelson Hebert, Minus Gisclar and Dalton Babineaux Jr.

The Evangeline Funeral Home Inc. of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.

Francis G. Prince Jr.

JEANERETTE - Services for Francis "Lu" Gerald Prince Jr., 22, will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday at Landry-David Funeral Home Chapel with the Deacon Theo Landry officiating. Entombment will be in the Beau Pre Mausoleum.

Visitation will be from 2-10 p.m. today at the funeral home, which will reopen at 8 a.m. Saturday.

A native of New Iberia and resident of Jeanerette, Mr. Prince died at 8:16 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22, 1997.

He was employed with Omni Drilling Inc. as an air boat driver.

Mr. Prince is survived by his wife, Janet Duplantis Prince of Jeanerette; one son, Austin Prince of Jeanerette; his father, Francis Prince Sr. of Georgetown, Miss.; his mother, Myrtle Louviere Prince of Jeanerette; one brother, Brian Prince of Lydia; two sisters, Mrs. Seth (Angela) Prince Landry and Inez Prince both of Jeanerette; and his paternal grandfather, Galen Prince of Cypremort Point.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Inez Landry Prince; and his maternal grandparents, Paul and Modest Theriot Louviere.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
