YOUNGSVILLE - Services for Chad E. Prejean, 25, will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday at St. Anne Catholic Church. Entombment will be in the church mausoleum.

Visitation will be held today from 9:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. with a 6 p.m. rosary at David Mortuary, which will reopen Saturday at 7 a.m. until the time of services.

A native of Lafayette and resident of Broussard, Mr. Prejean died at 11:55 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12, 1997, in Duson.

The David Mortuary of Broussard is in charge of arrangements.

Julia Prejean

YOUNGSVILLE - Services for Mrs. Chad Prejean, 31, the former Julia Michelle St. Marie, will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday at St. Anne Catholic Church. Entombment will be in the church mausoleum.

Visitation will be held today from 9:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. with a rosary at 6 p.m. at David Mortuary in Broussard, which will reopen Saturday at 7 a.m. until the time of services.

A native of Lafayette and resident of Broussard, Mrs. Prejean died at 11:55 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12, 1997, in Duson.

The David Mortuary of Broussard is in charge of arrangements.

David L. Duchane

JEANERETTE - Services for David Lee Duchane, 37, will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday at Fletcher Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Arthur Alexander officiating. interment will be in St. Peter United Methodist Church cemetery.

Visitation will be held Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of services.

A resident of Jeanerette, Mr. Duchane died at 3:09 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 6, 1997, following an automobile-pedestrian accident.

He is survived by one brother, Willie Duchane of Jeanerette; four sisters, Carolyn Jones of Jeanerette, Ella Duchane Edmond of New Iberia, Jeffanita Gobert of Lafayette and Genevieve Cross of DeRidder; one step-sister, Stella Davis of New Iberia; nine nieces; 12 nephews; and other relatives and friends.

Mr. Duchane was preceded in death by his mother, Lillie Duchane Washington ; his father, Willie Sereal; one brother, Henry Lee Duchane; one sister, Viola Lee Duchane; his maternal grandparents, Benjamin Duchane and Calena Duchane; and two uncles, Wilson Duchane and Rudolph Duchane.

Pallbearers will be Leroy Williams, Troy Levy, Mark Sillman, Barry Hensley, Anthony Rubbins and Curtis Gordon.

Honorary pallbearers will be Cliff Jones Sr., Stanford Rodrigue, Bobby Duchane, Nathaniel Wise, Marcus Jones and Rogers Gobert.

The Fletcher Funeral Home of Jeanerette is in charge of arrangements.

Theola J. Plummer

ABBEVILLE - Services for Mrs. Theola Jane Plummer, 65, will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at Briggs United Methodist Church with the Rev. Percell Church officiating. interment will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 10 p.m. Sunday at Fletcher Funeral Home, which will reopen at 7 a.m. Monday with a motorcade traveling to Mouton Cove at 10:30 a.m.

A resident of Abbeville, Mrs. Plummer died at 7:48 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11, 1997, at Abbeville General Hospital following a lengthy illness.

She is survived by two sons, Lennis Plowden and Robin Plowden, both of Abbeville; two daughters, Tammy Levine and Nolia Levine, both of Abbeville; two brothers, Roland Levy and Nathan Levy, both of Abbeville; two grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Plummer was preceded in death by her parents, Roman Levy and Sally Mitchell Levy; three brothers, Robert Levy, Willie Levy and Buddy Levy; and one sister, Bessie Webb.

Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be members of the immediate family.

The Fletcher Funeral Home of Abbeville is in charge of arrangements.

Antoine Fontenette Jr.

Services for Antoine "T-Boy" Fontenette Jr., 53, will begin at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Fletcher Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charles Jolivette officiating. interment will be in St. Matthew Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday until the time of services.

A native of Loreauville and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Fontenette died at 11:45 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, 1997, at Medical Center of Louisiana in New Orleans following a brief illness.

He is survived by two sons, Felton Fontenette of St. Martinville and Daniel Chargois of New Iberia; two brothers, Leroy Fontenette Sr. and Percy Fontenette Sr., both of New Iberia; two sisters, Gladys Etienne and Elise Roberts, both of St. Martinville; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mr. Fontenette was preceded in death by his parents, Antoine Fontenette Sr. and Gladys Jones Fontenette; and two sisters, Angeline F. Roberts and Mae Willa Rush.

Pallbearers will be Antoine Roberts Sr., Andrew Roberts, Melton Etienne Jr., Norris Walker Jr., Bronze Domingue and Melton Etienne III.

Honorary pallbearers will be Felton Fontenette, Leroy Fontenette Sr., Daniel Chargois, Percy Fontenette Sr., Samuel Roberts, Clifton Jones, Lawrence Jones and Robert Rush.

The Fletcher Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.

Jody D. Ewing

Services for Jody David Ewing, 32, will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Evangeline Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charles Thevis officiating. interment will be in Ewing Cemetery in Cypremort Point.

Visitation began today at 11 a.m. and will continue until the time of services with a rosary scheduled for 7 p.m. today.

A native of Franklin and resident of Cypremort Point, Mr. Ewing died Tuesday, Nov. 4, 1997.

He is survived by his wife, Juanita Morvant Fremin Ewing of Cypremort Point; his parents, Agues and Laura Migues Ewing Sr. of Cypremort Point; two daughters, Jana Leigh Ewing and Jerica Ann Ewing, both of Cypremort Point; three brothers, Jonathon Ewing of Tickfaw; Agues "Tim" Ewing Jr. of New Iberia and Chris Ewing of Cypremort Point; and three sisters, Mrs. Steven (Helen) Trundy Sr. of Cypremort Point, Mrs. David (Christine) Andras of Avery Island and Mrs. Richard (Patricia) Ulmer of New Iberia.

Mr. Ewing was preceded in death by one brother, Eric Ewing.

Pallbearers will be Agues "Tim" Ewing Jr., Jonathon Ewing, Chris Ewing, Archillie Gail Falgout, David Andras Sr. and Jason Andras.

The Evangeline Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.

Adella C. Maturin

Services for Mrs. Adam J. Maturin, 77, the former Adella Champagne, will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with the Rev. Daniel Picard officiating. interment will be in Holy Family Mausoleum.

Visitation will be from noon today until service time Saturday, with a 7 p.m. rosary today at the Evangeline Funeral Home Chapel.

A native of Lafayette Parish and lifelong resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Maturin died at 1:45 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, 1997, at a New Iberia hospital.

She is survived by her husband, Adam J. Maturin of New Iberia; one son, James A. "Jimmy" Maturin of New Iberia; one daughter, Pearl R. McLean of St. Martinville; one brother, Gustave Champagne of New Iberia; five grandchildren, Edward McLean, Dale McLean, Becky O'Brien and Jamie Maturin, all of New Iberia, and Wayne Maturin of St. Martinville; seven great-grandchildren, Jason McLean, Cody McLean, Adam McLean, Justin McLean, Kaitlin McLean and Travis McLean, all of New Iberia, and Blaine Maturin of St. Martinville and seven step-grandchildren.

Mrs. Maturin was preceded in death by her parents, Telesphore and Aurelia Vice Champagne; seven brothers, Lester, Joseph, Eddie, Laodis, Walter, Ignace and Theodule Champagne; two sisters, Edna Champagne and Lydia Romero and one granddaughter, Lisa Maturin.

Pallbearers will be Mrs. Maturin's grandsons and great-grandsons.

The Evangeline Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.

Kennell P. Brown Sr.

JEANERETTE - Services for Dr. Kennell Philip Brown Sr., 71, will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with the Rev. Ed Degeyter officiating and the Rev. Mark Derise co-officiating. interment will be in the Beau Pre Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. today, with a 7 p.m. rosary at the Landry-David Funeral Home Chapel, which will reopen at 8 a.m. Saturday until time of services.

A native of Jeanerette, Dr. Brown died at 3 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, 1997, at his home.

Born in Jeanerette on Jan. 29, 1926, Dr. Brown graduated from Cameron Junior College in Lawton, Okla. He served in the U.S. Army in the European theater during World War II and attended Biarritz University in Biarritz, France. In 1951, Dr. Brown graduated from the Tulane School of Medicine. He served as a family practitioner in Jeanerette from 1953 to 1997.

Dr. Brown was a member of the following medical organizations: the Iberia Parish Medical Society, the Louisiana State Medical Society, the Louisiana Academy of General Practice, the American Academy of General Practice, the American Medical Association and the Louisiana Academy of Family Practice.

He was a member of the following social and civic organizations: the Society of the War of 1812, the Sons of the Revolution, the Boston Club of New Orleans, president of the Jeanerette Chamber of Commerce from 1954-1956, Outstanding Citizen of Jeanerette in 1955, Mr. Jeanerette in 1960, treasurer of the Louisiana Sugar Cane Festival and Fair Association from 1955-1960, president of the Jeanerette Rotary Club from 1958-1959, member of the New Iberia Rotary Club, president of the Iberia Parish Tuberculosis Association 1959-1960, charter member and board member of the Krewe of Andalusia, King of Andalusia in 1991, King of Omardz Mardi Gras Ball in New Orleans in 1973, member and president of the Iberia Community Concert Association, member and president of the Iberia Parish Cultural Resources Association, board member of the Teche Museum of Iberia Parish, member of the Friends of the Shadows-on-the-Teche and winner of the Second Wind Award of Iberia Parish in 1994.

Dr. Brown published a book "The Descendants of Nicholas Provost" in 1957.

He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church of Jeanerette, where he served as a lay minister and lector.

Dr. Brown is survived by his wife, Margaret Fox Bingham Brown of Jeanerette; their five children and their spouses, Dr. Margaret Fox Brown Lisecki and Dr. Edward Joseph Lisecki Jr. of Denver, Dr. Kennell Philip Brown Jr. and Dr. Jil Gregg Brown of New Iberia, Thomas Moore Brown and Gisele Arsenault Brown of New Orleans, Louise Bingham Brown Derise and Bryan Michael Derise of Lafayette, Ellen Marie Brown Leonard and Gregory Andrew Leonard of Lafayette; one brother, Carl Joseph Brown of Jeanerette; and nine grandchildren.

Dr. Brown was preceded in death by his mother, Clara Patricia Guiberteau Brown, and father, Philip Harry Brown.

Pallbearers will be Dr. Edward Joseph Lisecki Jr., Bryan Michael Derise, Gregory Andrew Leonard, Frank Russell Courts, Jacques Larroque, Judge Cameron Simmons and William Oakley Bingham III.

Honorary pallbearers will be William Oakley Bingham Jr., Olivier Guiberteau, Millard Mannina, Pierre Guillot, Edwin Ashy, Dr. James Falterman Jr., Dr. Michael Tarantino, Dr. Saul Landry, board members of the Krewe of Andalusia and members of the Iberia Parish Medical Society.
