Roseanne W. Broussard

LAFAYETTE - Services for Mrs. Adlas J. Broussard, 65, the former Roseanne Wood, will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday, at the Martin and Castille Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Paul Thibodeaux officiating. interment will take place in St. Alphonsus Cemetery in Maurice.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday with a 7 p.m. rosary at the funeral home, which will reopen at 9 a.m. until time of services Sunday.

A native of St. Louis and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Broussard died at 12:30 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 13, 1997, at her home from lung cancer.

Mrs. Broussard was a veteran of military service and served as a cryptographer at the Pentagon with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Prior to her retirement, she worked as a secretary at The Daily Iberian. She was a member of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Community and the Ladies Altar Society.

Mrs. Broussard is survived by her husband, Adlas J. Broussard of New Iberia; one son, Michael J. Broussard of Sterling, Va.; four daughters, Mrs. Timothy Roy (Suzanne Marie), Elise Annette Broussard and Mrs. Paul Gary (Christine Louise) of New Iberia and Mrs. Jean Andre Beard (Martine Lynn) of Lafayette; and 10 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry Oliver Wood and Ruby Pearl Mills; and one sister, Alice Wood Shine.

Pallbearers will be Michael Broussard, Andrus Broussard, Timothy Roy, Jean Andre Beard, Paul Gary and Craig Braquet.

The Martin and Castille Funeral Home of Lafayette is in charge of arrangements.

Dallas Roy

DELCAMBRE - Services for Dallas Roy, 91, will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Martin De Porres Catholic Church with the Revs. Alvin Dixon and Thomas Voorhies officiating. interment will be in the Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-10 p.m. today with a 7 p.m. rosary at St. Martin De Porres Catholic Church, which will reopen at 7 a.m. until time of services Saturday.

A resident of Delcambre, Mr. Roy died at 3:50 p.m. Monday, Nov. 10, 1997, at Abbeville General Hospital following a lengthy illness.

Mr. Roy was a member of St. Martin De Porres Catholic Church as well as a member of St. Joseph Society of Delcambre.

He is survived by his wife, Lillie Decuire Roy of Delcambre; two sons, Lovelace Roy of Hillister, Texas , and Kenneth Roy of Delcambre; four daughters, Melder Thomas of Beaumont, Texas , Joyce Vallot of New Iberia, and Eva Roy and Shirley Roy, both of Delcambre; two brothers, Cleveland Roy and Joseph Victor Roy, both of New Iberia; two sisters, Nolia Guillory of New Iberia and Eunice Guidry of Port Arthur, Texas ; two daughters-in-law, Pearl Roy of Delcambre and Sylvia Roy of Hillister, Texas ; two sons-in-law; 19 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Mr. Roy was preceded in death by his parents, John Edolien and Elvina Derouen Roy, his former wife, Mary Ouida Pitry Roy; a son, Preston Roy; an infant daughter, Glory Ann Roy; a great-granddaughter, Jessica Roy; two brothers, Eugene Roy and Jeffery Roy and two sisters, Dule Dixon and Fanella Dixon.

Pallbearers will be Joey Roy, Dwight Roy, Ceith Roy, Terry Roy, Donald Wayne Roy and Terrance Vallot.

Honorary pallbearers will be Cleveland Roy, Lovelace Roy, Kenneth Roy, Clarence Dixon, John Guillory, Frank Thomas, Leroy Vallot Jr. and Joseph Victor Roy.

The Fletcher Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.

Steve Olander

JEANERETTE -Services for Steve Olander, 72, will begin at 11 a.m. Sunday at Landry-David Funeral Home of Jeanerette with the Rev. Theo Landry officiating. interment will be in the St. Helen Cemetery of Florence.

Visitation will be from 1:30-10 p.m. today with a 6:30 p.m. rosary at the funeral home, which will reopen from 8 a.m. until time of services Sunday.

A native of Biloxi, Miss., and resident of Jeanerette, Mr. Olander died at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, 1997 at Maison Teche Nursing Home. He was a retired commercial fisherman and veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served during World War II.

Mr. Olander is survived by two brothers, Edward Olander and Leo Olander, both of Cypermont Point; and five sisters, Aberta Borel and Mrs. Benjamin (Elizabeth) Rawlins, both of Cypermont Point, Mrs. Norman (Dorothy) Romero of Youngsville, Mrs. Armond (Helen) Roy of New Iberia and Rita Simon of Pasadena, Texas .

He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Frances Rolkosky Olander; two brothers, Andrew Olander Jr. and Sylvester Olander Sr., and one sister, Eleanora Hartman.

Pallbearers will be Thomas Olander, Brent Borel, Stephen Jeske, Douglas Olander, Rodney Olander and Randall Romero.

Honorary pallbearers will be Raymond Olander, Roland Olander, Russell Olander and Sylvester Olander Jr.

The Landry-David Funeral Home of Jeanerette is in charge of arrangements.

Harry J. Landry

BREAUX BRIDGE - Services for Harry "Crip" J. Landry, 56, will begin at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Bernard Catholic Church. interment will be in St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2, Breaux Bridge.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. today with a 7 p.m. rosary at Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge which will reopen at 7 a.m. Monday until time of services.

Mr. Landry died Saturday, Nov. 15, 1997 at Lafayette Guest House.

He is survived by four brothers, Rudolph Landry and Vincent Landry, both of Groves, Texas , Leroy Landry of Duson and Willie Landry of Lafayette; and four sisters, Ann Caillier of Groves, Leona Poirier of Cypress Island, Antonia Poirier of Breaux Bridge and Juanita Escagne of New Iberia.

Mr. Landry was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Whitney Landry.

The Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge is in charge of arrangements.

Yolande Bonin

ST. MARTINVILLE - Services for Mrs. Cezaire J. Bonin, 76, the former Yolande Latiolais, will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church. interment will be in St. Michaels Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2-10 p.m. today with a 7 p.m. rosary at Evangeline Funeral Home of St. Martinville, which will reopen from 8 a.m. Monday until time of services.

A resident of St. Martinville, Mrs. Bonin died at 5:10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, 1997 at her residence.

Evangeline Funeral Homes Inc. of St. Martinville is in charge of arrangements.

Alcibiade Trahan

DELCAMBRE - Services for Alcibiade Trahan, 93, will begin at 10 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with the Rev. Thomas Voorhies officiating. interment will be in the Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 8 a.m. Sunday until time of services Monday at the funeral home, with a rosary at 7 p.m. Sunday.

A native of Vermillion Parish a resident of Pasadena, Texas , Mr. Trahan died Friday, Nov. 14, 1997 in a Pasadena nursing home. He was a lifelong sugar cane farmer, and he worked at the Jefferson Island Salt Mine.

Mr. Trahan is survived by three sons, Murphy Trahan and his wife Lucille and Rayvis Trahan and his wife Beverly, all of Houston and Francis Trahan and his wife Beth of Pasadena; two brothers; two sisters; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ourille and Azalia Gaspard Trahan and his wife, Marie Benite Trahan.

The Evangeline Funeral Home of Delcambre is in charge of arrangements.

Novetta Preston

JEANERETTE - Services for Novetta Preston, 84, the former Novetta Edwards, will begin at 8 p.m. Tuesday at St. Paul United Methodist Church with the Rev. Fulton Raymond officiating. interment will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the St. Mark Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1-5 p.m. Tuesday at the Alex Lovett Funeral Home and from 5-10 p.m. at the church, which will reopen at 8 a.m. Wednesday.

A native and resident of Jeanerette, Mrs. Preston died Thursday, Nov. 13, 1997, at Iberia Medical Center following a brief illness.

She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, a Steward Sister for a number of years, and a member of Benevolent Society No. 5.

Mrs. Preston is survived by one sister, Mrs. Lou Ella Francis of Jeanerette; and one uncle, Rev. Adam C. Johnson Sr. of Kountze, Texas .

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hamilton Preston; her parents, Mack and Daisy Edwards; two brothers, Mack Edwards and Willie E. Johnson ; and one stepson, David Nicholas.

Pallbearers will be members of the immediate family as designated.

The Alex Lovett Funeral Services Inc. of Jeanerette is in charge of arrangements.
