Guy A. Durke
Services for Guy A. Durke, 58, will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday, at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mike McLaurin officiating. Entombment will be in Beau Pre Mausoleum in Jeanerette.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m.-10 p.m. today at David Funeral Home, which will reopen from 8-10 a.m. Tuesday.
A native of Patterson and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Durke died at 6:40 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 16, 1997, at his residence after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and had been in the oil field business for 35 years.
Mr. Durke is survived by his wife, Marlene Oubre Durke of New Iberia; one son, Darin P. Durke of New Iberia; two daughters, Kelly Durke Daigle and Kristine Durke, both of New Iberia; one brother, Marion "Skip" Durke of Beaumont, Texas ; two sisters, Mrs. G.A. (Kay) Fortier of Jeanerette and Mrs. Arthur Jerry (Irene) Landry Jr. of New Iberia; and three grandchildren, Abigail Daigle, Allyson Durke, and Blair Durke, all of New Iberia.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raywood L. and Elsie Zellmer Durke; two brothers, Gene Durke and Ray Durke Jr.; and one sister, Dorothy Durke Wilson.
Pallbearers will be Gabe Fortier, Jeff Delahoussaye, Craig Landry, John E. Oubre, Marvin Reeves and Larry Wilcoxson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Marion "Skip" Durke, Mike Durke, Francis Fortier, Michael Fortier, G.A. Fortier Jr.; Henry Elliot and Larry Durke.

Verna L. Dugas
LOREAUVILLE - Services for Mrs. Louis Dugas, 84, the former Verna Landry, will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with the Rev. Charles Thevis officiating. interment will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m.-10 p.m. today with a 6 p.m. rosary at David Funeral Home, which will reopen at 8 a.m. Tuesday.
A native and resident of Loreauville, Mrs. Dugas died at 8:30 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 16, 1997, at her residence.
She was a housewife.
Mrs. Dugas is survived by one son, Cloures Dugas of Loreauville; one daughter, Joy D. Lasseigne of Loreauville; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Dugas, her parents, Will E. and Edia Crochet Landry; one brother, Wallace Landry; and two sisters, Merdie Berard and Louda Dressel.
Pallbearers will be Brent Dugas, Karl Breaux, Dwayne Dugas, Gerald Dugas, Blaine Hotard and Melvin Landry.

ABBEVILLE - Graveside services for Thelma Beroud, 86, will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Pleasant Green Baptist Church Cemetery
with the Rev. Michael C. Wright Sr. officiating.
Mrs. Beroud died Saturday, Nov. 15, 1997, at Abbeville General Hospital following a lengthy illness.
She is survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be members of the immediate family.

Joseph Milazzo Sr.
ST. MARTINVILLE - Services are pending for Joseph Milazzo Sr., 78, at St. Martin De Tours Catholic Church. interment will be in the St. Michael Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2-10 p.m. today, with an evening rosary at Pellerin Funeral Home, which will reopen at 7 a.m. Tuesday until the time of services.
A resident of St. Martinville, Mr. Milazzo died Saturday, Nov. 15, 1997, at Lafayette General Medical Center.
He is survived by his wife, Rosalie Caprillo Milazzo of St. Martinville; two sons, Salvador Milazzo and Joseph Milazzo Jr., both of St. Martinville; four daughters, Mary Ann Marks, Frances Prados, Betty Milazzo and Janice Hayek, all of St. Martinville; one brother, Nick Milazzo of St. Martinville; two sisters, Theresa Russo and Sara Wallace, both of St. Martinville; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Mr. Milazzo was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Milazzo; one son, Vincent Milazzo and one daughter, Marie Milazzo.

ABBEVILLE - Services for Weston Albert Touchet, 84, were held at 10 a.m. today at St. Theresa Catholic Church. interment will be in the St. Mary Magdalen Cemetery.
A native and resident of Abbeville, Mr. Touchet died at 4:15 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 16, 1997, at Abbeville General Hospital.

Jerry J. Voorhies
Services for Jerry Joseph Voorhies, 27, will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Peter's Catholic Church with the Rev. Thomas Voorhies, pastor of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Delcambre, officiating. Entombment will be in the Holy Family Mausoleum.
Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. Wednesday, with an 8 p.m. rosary at Evangeline Funeral Home, which will reopen at 8 a.m. Thursday until the time of services.
A native of New Iberia and resident of Lafayette, Mr. Voorhies died at 7:18 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, 1997, at a Kaplan hospital.
Jerry graduated from New Iberia Senior High in 1989. He was a senior at the University of Southwestern Louisiana , majoring in business administration and would have graduated Dec. 20, 1997. He was a member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity.
Mr. Voorhies is survived by his parents, Dr. Cornelius P. Voorhies Jr. and June LeBlanc Voorhies, both of New Iberia; two brothers, Drew B. Bonvillain of New Iberia and Cornelius Paul Voorhies III of Houston; three sisters, Stacie Bonvillain Copell and Edie Bonvillain Simar, both of New Iberia, and Jean Voorhies Boudreaux of Perth, Australia.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Bernard and Elaine Kelly LeBlanc ; and his paternal grandparents, Cornelius P. and Odette Delcambre Voorhies.
Pallbearers will be Drew B. Bonvillain, Cornelius P. Voorhies III, Ty C. LeBlanc , Tommy Gros, Michael Sutton and Steven Simar.

A native of Franklin and resident of Port Arthur for 42 years, Mrs. Dickerson died Sunday, Nov. 16, 1997, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, Texas .
She is survived by her husband, Joseph Dickerson Sr. of Port Arthur; four sons, Joseph Dickerson Jr., Daniel Dickerson and David Dickerson, all of Port Arthur, and Douglas Dickerson of Freetown; six daughters, Cheryl Armstrong of Houston, Magnolia Francis of Port Arthur, Genesta Hamilton of Freetown, Cynthia Simpson of Jeanerette, Grace Holmes of Patterson and Jacqueline Dickerson of New Orleans; one brother, Weppie Douglas of Houston; four sisters, Martha Hawkins and Bessie Bobb, both of Port Arthur, Maggie Phillips and Alister Jones, both of New Orleans; 21 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four daughters-in-law; Yolanda, Chanetta, LaVerne and Cheryl Dickerson; five sons-in-law; Kenneth Holmes, Clarence Simpson, Edison Francis Sr., Herbert Armstrong and June Hamilton; two sisters-in-law, Margarite Bell and Doris Douglas; special friends, Lucille Fisher, Madelyn, Mary and Margie; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A resident of Jeanerette, Mr. Smith died at 2:45 p.m. Friday, Nov. 14, 1997, at Dauterive Hospital following a brief illness.
He is survived by three sons, Kevin Smith of Jeanerette, Henry Hockless of New Iberia and Wayne Hockless of Alexandria; two daughters, Earline S. Dwyer and Betty Smith of Jeanerette; one sister, Louella Doffoney of Jeanerette; eight grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his wife, Julia Bertha Anthony Smith; his parents, Earl James Smith Sr. and Julia Hensley Smith; and one brother, Brunnie Smith.
Pallbearers will be Ronald Dwyer, Henry Hockless, Brian Robertson, Herman Jones, Gabriel Hensley and Donald Doffoney.
