Sidney J. Granger

Services for Sidney John Granger, 46, will begin at 11 a.m. today at St. Edward Catholic Church with the Rev. Thomas James officiating. interment will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be at Journet and Bolden Funeral Home until the time of services.

A native and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Granger died at 10:08 a.m. Monday, Nov. 17, 1997, at his residence.

He is survived by his mother, Olivia Granger of New Iberia; seven brothers, Albert Granger, Carlton Granger, Joseph Granger and Gilbert Granger, all of New Iberia, Herbert Granger and Curley Granger, both of Houston, and Harry Granger of Angola; and one sister, Eva Granger Vital.

Mr. Granger was preceded in death by his father, Leo Paul Granger; and one sister, Mary Lee Granger.

Pallbearers will be friends and family members.

The Journet and Bolden Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.

Robert Dugas

JEANERETTE - Services for Robert "Cigar" Dugas, 71, will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church with the Rev. Joseph Detig officiating. interment will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday with a 10:15 a.m. rosary at the church.

A resident of Jeanerette, Mr. Dugas died at 9:55 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18, 1997, at Iberia Medical Center following a brief illness.

He was a member of Harry Eugene American Legion Post 549, as well as a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church.

Mr. Dugas is survived by his wife, Irma Lee Colar Dugas of Jeanerette; his mother, Julia Landor Dugas of Jeanerette; two sons, Gentry Dugas Sr. and Clyde Phillips Sr., both of Jeanerette; two brothers, Ambrose Dugas Jr. of New Paltz, N.Y., and Lloyd Dugas of Waco, Texas ; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ambrose Dugas Sr.; and one granddaughter, Takeisha Phillips.

Pallbearers will be Anthony Williams, Tim DeClouet, Paul Colar, Joseph Colar, Keith Colar and Anthony Colar.

Honorary pallbearers will be Clyde Phillips Sr., Gentry Dugas, members of Harry Eugene American Legion Post 549, Ambrose Dugas Jr. and Lloyd Dugas.

The Fletcher Funeral Home of Jeanerette is in charge of arrangements.

Clarcy Joseph

FRANKLIN - Services for Clarcy "Nannie Do" Joseph, 100, the former Clarcy Williams, will be held Saturday at Otis Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Willie Otis Jr. officiating. interment will be in the Oddfellow Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.

A resident of Jeanerette, Mrs. Joseph died at 5:18 a.m., Sunday, Nov. 16, 1997, at Franklin Nursing Home.

She is survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Joseph was preceded in death by her husband, Mitchell Joseph; her parents, Henry and Fannie Williams; one sister, Fannie W. Willis; two nieces, Lessie Bowie and Elsie Bell.

Pallbearers will be her nephews, Leonard Bowie Jr., Troy Bowie, Gregory Bowie, John Bowie Jr., Terrell L. Lemons, Isaac Bowie III, Whitney Joseph III.

Honorary pallbearers will be John Bowie Sr., Lawrence Bowie, Theoplious Bowie Sr., Kenneth Bowie, Carl Bowie, Isaac Bowie Jr., Whitney Joseph Jr., Howard Magee, Dandy Louis, Larry Notto and William Marks.

The Otis Mortuary of Franklin is in charge of arrangements.

Pearly Hopkins

LAFAYETTE - Services for Pearly Hopkins, 82, the former Pearly Landry, will begin at 11 a.m Saturday at the Martin and Castille Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Thomas P. Voorhies officiating. interment will be in the St. John Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m today with a 6 p.m. rosary, until the time of services Saturday at the funeral home.

A native of St. Martinville and resident of Delcambre for over thirty years, Mrs. Hopkins died at 11:50 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, 1997, at the Columbia Medical Center of Southwest La.

She is survived by two sons, Kenneth Hopkins of Lake Providence and Harry Hopkins of Delcambre; one daughter, Dorothy Dore' of Erath; two grandchildren, Melody Hopkins and Kevin Hopkins.

Mrs. Hopkins was preceded in death by her husband; her parents, Louis Landry and Ameliza Hulin Landry; one brother, Anasta "Pete" Landry; and two sisters, Hilda Trahan and Locadie Landry.

Pallbearers will be James Michaud, Kevin Hopkins, Jerry Landry, Frederick Trahan, Freddie Trahan and Derrell Dore'.

The Martin and Castille Funeral Home Inc. of Lafayette is in charge of arrangements. Gene Hanson

Services for Gene Hanson, 62, will begin at 2 p.m. today at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mike McLaurin officiating. interment will be in the Our Lady of Prompt Succor Cemetery in Coteau.

Visitation will be at David Funeral Home until the time of services.

A native of Marlow, Okla., former resident of New Iberia, and resident of Coteau, Mr. Hanson died at 7:08 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 19, 1997, at his residence.

He was district manager with Waukesha-Pearce Industries for 26 years, a member of Squirrel Run Golf Course, a member of Victor's Breakfast Club and member of the Sugar Oaks Golf and Country Club. Mr. Hanson attended Oklahoma State University for two years and broke numerous records in college football.

Mr. Hanson is survived by his wife, Myrna Hanson of New Iberia; two sons, Blane Hanson and his wife Marie of Hulbert, Okla. and Jon Hanson and his wife, Kristinn of New Iberia; three daughters, Cheryl Boutte and her husband, Keith of New Iberia, Julie Johnson and her husband, Gary of Hazelton, Kan., and Carmen Scott and her husband, Joe of Florida; one sister, Susie McClendon and her husband, Woody of Drumright, Okla.; and six grandchildren; Stacy Scott and Cory Scott of Florida, Brooke Hanson of Hulbert, Natasha Boutte, Krista Boutte and James Boutte, all of New Iberia.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Mary Ellen Davidson Hanson.

Pallbearers will be Willie Elmer, Elroy Ardoin, Bill Desormeaux, Jason Gaspard, Gary Johnson and Harold Tauzin.

Honorary pallbearers will be Blane Hanson and Jon Hanson.

The David Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements. H.J. Louviere

A native of Patoutville and resident of Loreauville, Mr. H.J. Louviere, 89, died at 3:20 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 19, 1997, at ISH Heritage South.

He was a retired Iberia Parish school bus driver.

At his request services will be private. An anatomical donation was made to Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans.

Mr. Louviere is survived by his wife, Odette G. Louviere; one son, Cordell G. Louviere of New Orleans; two daughters, Alma Landry of Loreauville and Roslyn Accomando of League City, Texas ; one sister, Jane Banta of Dallas, Texas ; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jean Batiste Louviere and Eleanor Etie Louviere; one brother, Fernand "Bill" Louviere; and three sisters, Mae Romero, Ella Golden and Martha Singletary.

L.J. Rost

ABBEVILLE - Services for L.J. Rost, 60, will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday at David and Hebert Funeral Home. interment will be in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cemetery in Leroy.

Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. today at the funeral home, with a 7 p.m. rosary Saturday.

A resident of Kaplan, Mr. Rost died at 1:07 a.m. Thursday Nov. 20, 1997, at St. Luke's Hospital in Houston.

The David and Hebert Funeral Home of Abbeville is in charge of arrangements.

Eola M. Goutierrez

ERATH - Services for Mrs. C.D. (Cachune) Goutierrez, 84, the former Eola Menard, will begin at 3:30 p.m. today at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with the Rev. Wayne Duet officiating. Entombment will be in the church mausoleum.

Visitation will be at Broussard Funeral Home until the time of services.

Mrs. Goutierrez died at 11:45 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 19, 1997, at Abbeville General Hospital.

The Broussard Funeral Home of Erath is in charge of arrangements.

Leroy Prince

JEANERETTE - Services for Leroy Prince, 75, will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday at the David & Landry Funeral Home of Jeanerette with the Rev. Andrew Hebert officiating. interment will be in the Beau Pre Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. today at the funeral home, which will reopen at 8 a.m. Sunday until time of services.

A native of Cypremort Point and resident of Lydia, Mr. Prince died at 5:05 a.m., Friday, Nov. 21, 1997, at Iberia Medical Center.

He was a night watchman for the Morton Salt Co.

Mr. Prince is survived by his wife, Irma Ewing Prince of Lydia; his sister, Belle Prince Grantham of Sulphur and four brothers, Galen Prince of Cypremort Point, Ira Prince, Lawrence Prince and Harold Prince Sr., all of Lydia.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Blanche Guidroz Prince Sr.; two brothers, Ernest Prince Jr. and Lyman Prince Sr. and two sisters, Hilda Prince Borel and Genevie Prince Pichoff.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Prince, Melvin Landry, Ira Prince, Francis Prince Sr., Norbert Prince Sr. and Lyman Prince Jr.

Honorary pallbearers will be Galen Prince, Harold Prince Sr. and Lawrence Prince Sr.
