Elvinia L. Griffin

DELCAMBRE - Services for Elvinia LeBouef Griffin, 86, will begin at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Evangeline Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Thomas Voorhies officiating. Entombment will be in the Our Lady of the Lake Mausoleum.

Visitation will be from 3-10 p.m. today with a 6:30 p.m. rosary at the funeral home, which will reopen at 8 a.m. Wednesday.

A native of Vermilion Parish and resident of Delcambre, Mrs. Griffin died at 6:44 p.m. Monday, March 23, 1998, at an Abbeville hospital.

She was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church.

Mrs. Griffin is survived by one son, Joseph Dale Griffin of Delcambre; one daughter, Dolly Delcambre; one son-in-law, Daniel Delcambre of Delcambre; two grandchildren, Danelle Renard and Kevin Delcambre, both of Delcambre; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. False Foley LeBouef; five brothers; and three sisters.

The Evangeline Funeral Home of Delcambre is in charge of arrangements.

Raymond Romero

Services are pending for Raymond "Melo" Romero, 66, at David Funeral Home Chapel. interment will be in Our Lady of Prompt Succor Cemetery in Coteau.

Visitation will begin at 4 p.m today with a 6:30 p.m. rosary at the funeral home, which will remain open all night.

A native and resident of Youngsville, Mr. Romero died at 8:45 p.m. Monday, March 23, 1998, at Iberia Medical Center.

He was a former president of American Federation of State, County and Municipal Local No. 1713 and retired from the Louisiana Highway Department as a highway foreman No. 2 after 43 years of service.

Mr. Romero is survived by his wife, Velma Romero of Youngsville; his mother, Eloise Touchet Romero of Youngsville; one son, Brent Romero of Youngsville; one daughter Donna Romero Suire of Youngsville; three grandchildren; four step grandchildren; one step great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his father, Etienne R. Romero; one son, Brian Anthony Romero; and one sister, Martrene Romero Landry.

Pallbearers will be friends and family members.

Honorary pallbearer will be Joseph E. Romero.

The David Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.

Marion Doerle

LOREAUVILLE - Services for Mr. Robert L. "Bob" Doerle, 68, the former Marion "Tootie" Broussard, will begin at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Charles Thevis officiating. Entombment will be in All Saints Mausoleum.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. today, with a 7 p.m. rosary at the Evangeline Funeral Home, which will reopen at 8 a.m. Monday until time of services.

A native of Garden City and resident of Loreauville, Mrs. Doerle died at 7:02 p.m., Friday, Nov. 21, 1997, in a Lafayette hospital.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Mrs. Doerle is survived by her father, Charles Broussard of Loreauville; one son, Wayne C. Doerle of Lafayette; one daughter, Mrs. Cecil (Bobette Doerle) Landry of New Iberia; one sister, Mrs. John (Peggy) Lagan of Loreauville and one grandson, Jordan Charles Landry of New Iberia.

Mrs. Doerle was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. "Bob" Doerle and her mother, Beatrice Ronsonet Broussard.

Pallbearers will be Dr. David E. Doerle, Dale F. Lagan, John E. Lagan, John E. Lagan Jr., Cecil J. Landry and Philip Pete Aucoin.

Honorary pallbearers will be Paul A. Doerle Sr., Francis G. Doerle, Harold E. Doerle and Perry Segura.

The Evangeline Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.

Hayden Brown

CENTERVILLE - Services for Hayden William Brown, 80, will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Calvary Bible Church. interment will be in the Perpetual Park Cemetery in Franklin.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the church.

A resident of Garden City, Mr. Brown died at 5:55 p.m., Friday, Nov. 21, 1997, following a lengthy battle with cancer.

The Ibert's Mortuary of Franklin is in charge of arrangements.

Verna Landry

ERATH - Services for Mrs. John Reidley (Ray) Landry, 66, the former Verna Bouillion, will begin at 4 p.m. today at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with the Rev. Wayne Duet officiating. interment will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation was from 1:30]10 p.m. Saturday, with a 7 p.m. rosary at the Broussard Funeral Home, which will reopen at 8 a.m. today until time of services.

A resident of Erath, Mrs. Landry died at 3:45 p.m., Friday, Nov. 21, 1997, in the Morris Lahasky Nursing Home.

The Broussard Funeral Home of Erath is in charge of arrangements.

Andrus Hebert

ERATH - Services for Andrus Paul Hebert, 49, will begin at 2 p.m. today at the Broussard Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Chilli Graham officiating. interment will be in the Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery.

Visitation was from 1:30-10 p.m. Saturday, at the funeral home, which will reopen at 8 a.m. today until time of services.

A resident of Erath, Mr. Hebert died at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 21, 1997, in Abbeville General Hospital.

The Broussard Funeral Home of Erath is in charge of arrangements.

Larry D. Smith

JEANERETTE - Services for Larry D. Smith, 78, will begin at 7 p.m. Wednesday at First Jerusalem Baptist Church with the Rev. Arthur Alexander officiating. interment will be at 9 a.m. Thursday in the St. James Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-10 p.m. Wednesday at the church, which will reopen at 8 a.m. Thursday.

A native of Franklin and resident of Jeanerette for 54 years, Mr. Smith died Sunday, Nov. 23, 1997, at his residence following a lengthy illness.

He was retired from Walter R. LeJeune Inc. after working for 51 years, a member of First Jerusalem Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and a member of Evergreen Lodge No. 31, F&AM.

Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Thelma J. Smith; four sons, Larry R. Smith of Jeanerette, Ronnie Smith of Missouri City, Texas , Charles A. Smith of Rosharon, Texas , and Akil Yusef Aziz (Gerald Smith) of Lafayette; one daughter, Gwendolyn S. Francis of New Iberia; two brothers, Howard Smith Sr. of Franklin and Charles L. Smith of Houston; one sister, Dorothy S. White of Galena Park, Texas ; 21 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Smith and Mary Luster Smith; two brothers; and five sisters.

Pallbearers will be Ronnie Smith Jr., Christopher Smith, Dwayne Smith, Gerald Smith, Charles A. Smith and Daryl Smith.

Honorary pallbearers will be family members, friends and members of the Evergreen Lodge No. 31, F&AM

Ira R. Daigle Sr.

JEANERETTE - Services for Ira R. Daigle Sr., 73, will begin at 2 p.m. today at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with the Rev. Ed Degeyter officiating. interment will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be at David and Landry Funeral Home until the time of services.

A native of New Orleans and resident of Jeanerette, Mr. Daigle died at 2:25 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 23, 1997, at Maison Teche Nursing Home.

He was retired from AMOCO/Cropmate after 35 years of service, a life member and past post commander of the VFW Post 8150, a life member of the American Legion Post 26 and a member of the 50 Plus Club.

Mr. Daigle is survived by his wife, Lorraine Migues Daigle of Jeanerette; two sons, Louis P. Daigle and Ira R. Daigle Jr., both of Jeanerette; one stepson, Brad Louviere Sr. of Jeanerette; one daughter, Lana Daigle Rentz of Jeanerette; one stepdaughter, Janis Louviere Helms of Jeanerette; two brothers, Charles Daigle and Leroy Daigle, both of Jeanerette; two sisters, Doris Kapp of Lydia and Geraldine Moresi, both of Jeanerette; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; 10 step grandchildren; and six step great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis P. and Beatrice Martin Daigle; and one sister, Louise Frisco.

Pallbearers will be Brent Daigle, Clint Daigle, Craig Helms, Kevin Helms, Sean McGee, Chad Helms, Brian Helms and Kevin Bouton.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ira R. Daigle Jr., Louis P. Daigle, Kline Rentz, Brad Louviere Sr., Brad Louviere Jr., Wallace Helms, Bobby Robinson, Eugene Vincent and V.J. Broussard.

David and Landry Funeral Home of Jeanerette is in charge of arrangements.
