Ella L. Picard

JEANERETTE - Services for Ella Mae LeBlanc Picard, 61, were held at 4 p.m. Monday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with the Rev. Mark Derise officiating. interment was in the Beau Pre Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation was at David and Landry Funeral Home.

A native of Patoutville and resident of Jeanerette, Mrs. Picard died at 11:24 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, 1997, at Iberia Medical Center.

She was a housewife.

Mrs. Picard is survived by two sons, Raymond Picard Jr. and Kent Picard Sr., both of Jeanerette; one stepson, Allen LeCamus of New Iberia; four daughters, Mrs. Terry (Annette) Picard Derise, Mrs. James (Jackie) Picard Stevens and Mrs. Jace (Carolyn) Picard Stevens Sr., all of Jeanerette, and Mrs. Ronald (Jacqueline) Picard Landry of Lydia; three brothers, St. Paul L. LeBlanc and Melvin LeBlanc Sr., both of Jeanerette, and Silton LeBlanc Sr. of Charenton; two sisters, Mae Derouen and Emmerite St. Germain, both of Jeanerette; and 17 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her second husband, Harry Paul LeCamus; her first husband, Raymond Picard Sr.; her parents, Elie and Lovina Agnes Gary LeBlanc ; one son, Earl Paul LeCamus; three brothers, Paul (Cono) LeBlanc , Vernice LeBlanc Sr. and Milton LeBlanc ; and three sisters, Beulah Mae Derouen, Lorena Eskind and Edith Legnon.

Pallbearers were Jace Stevens Jr., Steve Bonin, Ronald Landry, Jeremy Picard, Billy Stevens and David Stevens.

Honorary pallbearers were Raymond Picard Jr., Joshua Stevens, Terry Derise, Allen LeCamus, Kent Picard Jr., Kent Picard Sr., Blake Stevens, James Stevens, Robert Stevens and Jace Stevens, Sr.

The David and Landry Funeral Home of Jeanerette was in charge of arrangements.

Raymond Jackson

FRANKLIN - Services for Raymond Jackson , 37, will begin at 8 p.m. Friday at Otis Mortuary Chapel. interment will be in the Sorrell Cemetery in Sorrell.

Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Friday with an 8 p.m. rosary at the chapel. The chapel will reopen at 9 a.m. Saturday.

A native of Charenton and resident of Jeanerette, Mr. Jackson died Saturday, Nov. 22, 1997 at his residence.

Mr. Jackson is survived by his wife, Mary Washington Jackson of Jeanerette; his father, Louis Green, his stepfather, James Alexander, his mother, Cora Jackson , all of Olivier; three sons, Lance, Bob, and Arnold Washington , all of Jeanerette; one daughter, Lakeisha Henry of Charenton; four brothers, Mike, Tyrone, James, and Kenneth Jackson , all of Olivier; four stepbrothers, Clarence, Dennis, Paul and Samuel Alexander, all of Franklin; one sister, Tiffany Alexander of Olivier and one grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Derrek Hurst, Ronnie Hurst, Murphy Darribigny, Paul Nora, Timothy Hurst and Gregory Colar.

The Otis Mortuary of Franklin is in charge of arrangements.

Francis Antoine

Services for Francis "Tony" Antoine, 61, will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Edward Catholic Church with the Rev. Thomas James officiating. interment will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. today with a 7 p.m. rosary, at Journet and Bolden Funeral Home, which will reopen at 7:30 a.m. Saturday.

A native of New Iberia and resident of Washington , D.C., for 30 years, Mr. Antoine died at 8:15 a.m. Friday, Nov. 21, 1997, in St. Louis, Mo.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran having served in many diverse worldwide locations that included service during the Vietnam War. Mr. Antoine rose through the military service as a photographer's mate and air crew member, achieving the rank of chief petty officer with numerous professional decorations and personal accomplishments. He continued to enjoy a long and distinguished naval career that transcended 40 years of service to include his current position in Naval Intelligence Command as a GS-14 level representative of the Civilian Intelligence Personnel Office.

He is survived by two sons, Andre' Antoine of Seattle, Wash., and Francis Antoine Jr. of Forestville, Md.; one daughter, Rene' Eaton of Seattle; six brothers, Edward Antoine, Perry Antoine and Merrick Antoine, all of New Iberia, Peter Antoine of Lake Charles, and Weldon Antoine and Merlin Antione, both of Fort Wayne, Ind.; two sisters, Verda Bradford of Fort Wayne and Delores Antoine of New Iberia; and three grandchildren.

Mr. Antoine was preceded in death by his parents, Henry L. Antoine Sr. and Freda F. Antoine; two brothers, Henry Antoine Jr. and Glenn Antoine; and three sisters, Matilda Perodin, Madello Butler and Yolanda Antoine.

Pallbearers will be friends and family members.

The Journet and Bolden Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.

Albert Narcisse

Services for Albert "Mummy" Narcisse, 60, will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday at Fletcher Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Morris Evans officiating. interment will be in the St. Peter United Methodist Church Cemetery in Jeanerette.

Visitation will begin at 7 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

A native of Jeanerette and resident of St. Joseph for many years, Mr. Narcisse died Sunday, Nov. 23, 1997, following a lengthy illness.

He is survived by his former wife, Joyce Narcisse of St. Joseph; one son, Burnell Albert Narcisse of Franklin; four daughters, Reponzala Smith of Hinesville, Ga., Vanessa Narcisse of Franklin, Anna Alexander and Vern Williams; one sister-in-law, Mary Lee Manuel of Jeanerette; one sister, Beulah Narcisse of Houston; and 15 grandchildren.

Mr. Narcisse was preceded in death by his parents.

Pallbearers will be Albert Alexander, Sgt. Kevin Smith, Kevin Davis, Zack Bennett, Rodney Phillips and Andy Hebert.

Honorary pallbearers will be Harry Francis, Burnell Albert Narcisse, Claroid Washington , William Jenkins, Arthur Davis Jr., Clergyman Joseph Eddie and Freddie Narcisse.

The Fletcher Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.

Valerie M. DeRouen

Services for Mrs. Arthur DeRouen, 90, the former Valerie Molaire, will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter's Catholic Church with the Rev. Keith DeRouen officiating. interment will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. today with a 6:30 p.m. rosary at Evangeline Funeral Home, which will reopen at 7 a.m. Saturday until the time of services.

A native of Loreauville and resident of New Iberia; Mrs. DeRouen died at 11:15 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 27, 1997, at a New Iberia nursing home.

She operated DeRouen Upholstery along with her husband Arthur DeRouen from 1946-1987. Mrs. DeRouen was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church where she taught CCD classes for many years, a member of the Catholic Daughters of America for many years and she belonged to the Gloria Mundi Travel Club.

Mrs. DeRouen is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, Dallas J. DeRouen and his wife, Evelyn, Ray J. DeRouen and his wife, Rena, and Francis L. DeRouen and his wife, Lois, all of New Iberia, and Chris A. DeRouen and his wife, Christine of Baton Rouge; 12 grandchildren, Brenda Aucoin, Julia LeBlanc , Lynn DeRouen, Dwight DeRouen, Debra Sonnier, Donna Pontiff and Dale Robinson, all of New Iberia, Dwayne DeRouen of North Carolina, Marsha Williams and Valerie Stevens, both of Jackson , Miss., Paul DeRouen and Brian Degan, both of Baton Rouge; and 13 great-grandchildren, Shaye Lee Aucoin, Rusty Aucoin, Natalie LeBlanc , Karla LeBlanc , Michelle DeRouen, Mandy DeRouen, Jade DeRouen, Drew Sonnier, Derek Sonnier, Keisha DeRouen and Chace Robinson, all of New Iberia, Alejandra DeRouen and Rebecca DeRouen both of North Carolina.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur DeRouen; one daughter, Betty Jo DeRouen; her parents, Eno and Julia LeBlanc Molaire; and two brothers, Alfred Molaire and Armond Molaire.

Pallbearers will be Dallas J. DeRouen, Ray J. DeRouen, Francis L. DeRouen, Chris A. DeRouen, Lynn A. DeRouen and Elwood Molaire.

Memorial donations may be made of Hospice of Acadiana, 2600 Johnston St. Suite 200, Lafayette, La., 70503.

The Evangeline Funeral Home Inc. of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.

Raoul Gary

ERATH - Services for Raoul Gary, 87, will begin at 11 a.m. today at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with the Rev. Wayne Duet officiating. interment will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 8 a.m. today until the time of services at Broussard Funeral Home.

Mr. Gary died at 2:15 a.m. Friday, Nov. 28, 1997, at his home in rural Abbeville.

Broussard Funeral Home of Erath is in charge of arrangements.

Marie H. Trahan

Services for Mrs. Optat Trahan, 84, the former Marie "Toot" Hebert, will begin at 2 p.m. today at the David Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charles Thevis officiating. interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation was from 4-10 p.m. Saturday, with a 7 p.m. rosary, at David Funeral Home of New Iberia, which will reopen at 8 a.m. today until time of services.

A native of Maurice and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Trahan died at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 28, 1997, at her residence.

She was a housewife and a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.

She is survived by her husband, Optat "T" Trahan of New Iberia; a daughter, Crystal "Chris" Trahan Landry of New Iberia; two sisters, Enola Hebert Denais of Milton, and Mrs. Ira (Audrey) Prince of Lydia; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Mrs. Trahan was preceded in death by her parents, Fernest Hebert and Marie LeBlanc Hebert, and two sisters, Mrs. Fernand (Fedora) Baudoin and Mrs. Obray (Lucille) Guidry.

Pallbearers will be Cuccia Brennan, Johnny Denais, Bryan Landry, Timmy Romero, Donald Waguespack and Jarod Waguespack.

David Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.

Iola M. Angers

Services for Mrs. Leonard J. Angers Sr., 91, the former Iola Moss, will begin at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Peter's Catholic Church with the Rev. Charles Thevis officiating. interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. today, with a 7 p.m. rosary at the Evangeline Funeral Home of New Iberia, which will reopen at 8 a.m. Monday until time of service.

A native and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Angers died at 1:45 p.m. Friday, Nov. 28, 1997, in a Lafayette hospital.

Mrs. Angers attended Normal College in Natchitoches for two years and completed her college education at SLI (now known as USL) with a bachelor of science in elementary education. She then taught at Jefferson Island and Pesson Elementary for a total of 24 years. She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, the Louisiana Teachers Association, the Retired Teachers Association, the Catholic Daughters of America, Children of Mary and a volunteer at the Social Service Center for 10 years.

She is survived by two sons, Leonard Joseph Angers Jr. of Abbeville, and John William Angers, P.E., of New Iberia; two daughters, Jeraldine Angers of New Iberia, and Lois Angers Reddoch of Lake Charles; two brothers, Theophile Oscar Moss and Robert Rand Moss Sr., both of New Iberia; two sisters, Daisy Moss Broussard and Belle Moss Latiolais, both of New Iberia; 15 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard J. Angers Sr.; her parents, William Taylor Moss and Catherine Primeaux Moss; one brother, Taylor Clarence Moss; and three sisters, Bernice Dee Moss, Lizzie Moss Laughlin and Nettie Moss Krepper.

Pallbearers will be John W. "Billy" Angers Jr., Paul Autery, Jim Angers, Joey Angers, Leo Reddoch and Tom Olson.

The Evangeline Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.
