Kathrine B. Meaux

ERATH - Services for Mrs. Michael Meaux, 45, the former Kathrine Borel, will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday at David and Broussard Funeral Home with the Rev. Donald Mahan officiating. Entombment will be in Our Lady of Lourdes Mausoleum.

Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m.-10 p.m. today at the funeral home, which will reopen at 8 a.m. Thursday.

A native of Jeanerette and a resident of Erath, Mrs. Meaux died at 5:45 p.m. Tuesday, March 24, 1998, at Iberia Medical Center.

She was employed at Iberia Medical Center as a license practical nurse, prior to that she worked for Abbeville General Hospital for five years.

Mrs. Meaux is survived by her husband, Michael Meaux of Erath; two sons, Erik J. Meaux and Michael W. Meaux, both of Erath; one daughter, Misti Michelle Meaux of Erath; one daughter-in-law, Leslie Meaux of Erath; two brothers, Buddy Borel of Houston and Charles Borel of Gonzales; two sisters, Salomi Borel of Destin, Fla., and Patricia Thomas of Bogalousa; two grandsons, Gage Meaux and Gavin Meaux, both of Erath; and one granddaughter, Morgan Meaux of Erath.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence "Toad" Borel and Daisy Belle Bourgeois Borel; and one brother, Baron Borel.

Pallbearers will be Michael Meaux, Buddy Borel, Charles Borel, Farrell Harrington, Erik Meaux and Blake Stanford.

Honorary pallbearers will be Gage Meaux and Gavin Meaux.

The David and Broussard Funeral Home of Erath is in charge of arrangements.

Dennis J. Landry

ERATH - Services for Dennis Joseph Landry, 77, will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. interment will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m.-10 p.m. today with a 7 p.m. rosary at David and Broussard Funeral Home, which will reopen from 8-9:45 a.m. Thursday.

A native of Bayou Tigre and resident of Erath, Mr. Landry died at 8 p.m. Monday, March 23, 1998, at Abbeville General Hospital.

The David and Broussard Funeral Home of Erath is in charge of arrangements.

Odile Romero

Services for Odile Romero, 88, will begin at 3 p.m. Tuesday at David Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. William Rogalla officiating. interment will be in the St. Peter's Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday with a 2:30 p.m. rosary at the funeral home.

A native and resident of New Iberia, Miss Romero died at 2:05 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 30, 1997, at Iberia Medical Center.

She was a member of the Legion of Mary, a member of the Third Order of Mt. Carmel and a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church.

Miss Romero is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Alfred (Maydel) Fortier Sr. and Mrs. Alton (Evelyn) Gonsoulin, both of New Iberia, and Mrs. Leonard (Grace) Little of Lafayette.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alpha and Clara Berard Romero; and two sisters, Rena R. Little and Mrs. Frank (Marie) Stanzel.

Pallbearers will be Byron Fortier, Ryan Clausen, John Fortier, Alfred Fortier III, Gene Gonsoulin and Alton Gonsoulin Jr.

The David Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.

Wanita V. Romero

Services for Mrs. Ronald James Romero, 50, the former Wanita Mary Viator, will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with the Rev. Daniel Picard officiating. interment will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Monday with a 7 p.m. rosary, at Evangeline Funeral Home, which will remain open all night.

A native and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Romero died at 9:50 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 30, 1997, at her residence.

She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church and a beautician at Dot's Beauty Salon in New Iberia.

Mrs. Romero is survived by her husband, Ronald James Romero of New Iberia; her father, Leonce Viator Sr. of New Iberia; six sons, Marty James Romero of Iota; Mark Anthony Romero, Matt Willis Romero, Marshall John Romero, Mitchell John Romero and Max Lee Romero, all of New Iberia; three brothers, Herman P. Viator of Delcambre, Eldridge L. Viator of Groves, Texas , and Leonce Viator Jr. of New Iberia; three sisters, Emma Lee Morvant and Dorothy Fanning, both of New Iberia, and Betty Angell of Orlando, Fla.; and one grandson, Dustin John Romero of New Iberia.

Mrs. Romero was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Bergeron Viator; and a brother, Richard J. Viator Sr.

Pallbearers will be Mark Romero, Mitchell Romero, Marshall Romero, Matt Romero, Herman P. Viator and Eldridge L. Viator.

The Evangeline Funeral Home Inc. of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.

Lillian G. Spell

RAYNE - Services for Lillian G. Spell, 75, will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Duhon Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Scott officiating. interment will be in the Indian Bayou Methodist Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

A resident of Indian Bayou, Mrs. Spell died at 12 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 30, 1997, at Abbeville General Hospital.

Mrs. Spell is survived by her husband, Edwin Spell of Indian Bayou; two sons, Cleveland James Spell of Violet, and Carroll Wayne Spell of New Iberia; one daughter, Gwendolyn Bourgeois of Eunice; and six grandchildren.

She was the owner and manager of Spell Building Supply and Grocery Store in Indian Bayou for 20 years.

The Duhon Funeral Home of Rayne is in charge of arrangements.

Nola B. Provost

Services for Nola B. Provost, 89, were held at 9:30 a.m. today at David Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Michael Guidry officiating. interment will be in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery in Erath.

A native of Vermilion Parish and a resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Provost died at 8:10 p.m. Tuesday, March 24, 1998, at her son’s residence.

She is survived by four sons, Dave Provost of Lafayette, Lester Provost of Lydia, Paul Provost of Carencro and Simon Provost of Loreauville; two daughters, Cecile Chapman of Goldbarra, N.C., and Emily Harding of Orange, Texas ; two sisters, Ylonde Bertrand and Elvie Denais, both of Orange; and 31 grandchildren.

Mrs. Provost was preceded in death by her husband, Anville Provost; her parents, Ovey and Cecile Comeaux Broussard; one son, Hymel Provost; three brothers, Gilbert Broussard, Isodore Broussard and Sidney Broussard; and two grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Lester Provost, Harold Harding, Dave Provost, Nicholas Provost, Paul Provost and Simon Provost.

The David Funeral Home of New Iberia was in charge of arrangements.

Rolley M. Beeding

BROUSSARD - Services for Rolley Murlen Beeding, 46, were held at 11 a.m. today at David Funeral Home Chapel.

A native of Rock Island, Ill. and resident of Youngsville, Mr. Beeding died at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 24, 1998, at his residence.

The David Funeral Home of Broussard is in charge of arrangements.

Patrick Champagne

ST. MARTINVILE - Services for Patrick Champagne, 74, will begin at 2 p.m Friday at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church. interment will be in the St. Michael Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 8 a.m.-10 p.m. today with a 6:30 p.m. rosary at Pellerin Funeral Home, which will reopen at 7 a.m. Friday until the time of services.

A resident of St. Martinville, Mr. Champagne died Tuesday, March 24, 1998, at Dauterive Hospital.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanette G. Champagne of St. Martinville; one son, Patrick J. Champagne of Catahoula; one daughter, Melba Maraist of St. Martinville; two sisters, Ruth Landry and Grace Hebert, both of St. Martinville; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Mr. Champagne was preceded in death by his parents, Adeo and Eloise Gauthier Champagne; and his first wife, Rita M. Champagne.

Pallbearers will be Patrick J. Champagne, Lawrence Maraist, Kerry Champagne, Lovelace Vincent, Dennis Hulin and Ricky Wedlake.

Honorary pallbearers will be David Poirier, Karl Vann, Seth Champagne and Francis Michael Landry Jr.

The Pellerin Funeral Home of St. Martinville is in charge of arrangements.

Simita T. Hargrave

ERATH - Services for Mrs. William Hargrave, 89, the former Simita Touchet, will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. interment will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4:30-9 p.m. today with a 7 p.m. rosary at David and Broussard Funeral Home,which will reopen at 8 a.m. Friday until the time of services.

A native of Erath and resident of Kaplan, Mrs. Hargrave died at 7:55 a.m. Wednesday, March 25, 1998, at Abbeville General Hospital.
