Dalton S. Broussard

Services for Dalton Shane Broussard, 15, will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday at Journet and Bolden Funeral Home with the Rev. Wanda Rousse officiating. interment will be in the St. Edward Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 7:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

A native of New Iberia, Dalton died Tuesday, Nov. 25, 1997, at Tulane Hospital.

He was a student at Iberia Middle School.

Dalton is survived by his parents, Dalton Broussard of New Iberia and Debra Broussard of Lafayette; one brother, Damian Broussard of New Iberia; and one sister, Dania Broussard of New Iberia.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Muphy Lewis; and his maternal grandfather, James Locks.

Pallbearers will be friends and family members.

The Journet and Bolden Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.

Louise H. Breaux

DELCAMBRE - Services for Louise Hebert Picard Breaux, 91, will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with the Rev. Thomas Voorhies officiating. interment will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2-10 p.m. today with a 5 p.m. rosary, at the Evangeline Funeral Home, which will reopen at 8 a.m. Thursday.

A native of Vermilion Parish and resident of Delcambre, Mrs. Breaux died at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2, 1997, in an Abbeville hospital.

She was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church.

Mrs. Breaux is survived by two stepsons, Floyd Breaux and Allen Breaux, both of Lafayette; one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Ray (Alice) Picard of Delcambre; three grandchildren, Mrs. James (Cindy) Baudoin of Abbeville, Mrs. Wayne (Susan) Landry and Jude Picard, both of Delcambre; one great-granddaughter, Mrs. Brent (Celeste) LeBlanc of Delcambre.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ulysse Picard; her second husband, Pierre Breaux; her parents, Joseph and Euphemie Pere Hebert; one son, Ray Picard; five brothers, Lovelace Hebert, Eraste Hebert, Chester Hebert, Joseph Hebert Jr. and Edias Hebert; and two sisters, Nora LeBouef and Anna Harrington.

Pallbearers will be Jude Picard, James Baudoin, Wayne Landry, Brent LeBlanc and Eddie Picard.

The Evangeline Funeral Home Inc. of Delcambre is in charge of arrangements. Leroy Gary Sr.

Contrary to the obituary information for Leroy Gary Sr. that appeared in Tuesday's edition, he is survived by one step-granddaughter, Stephanie Landry Baldwin of Houston.

Emily M. Breaux

BALDWIN - Services for Emily M. Breaux, the former Emily Martin, will begin at 1 p.m. today at Sacred Heart Church with the Rev. Bill Melancon officiating. interment will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be at Ibert's Mortuary in Franklin until the time of services.

A native of Jeanerette and resident of Baldwin for 30 years, Mrs. Breaux died Tuesday, Dec. 2, 1997, at Franklin Foundation Hospital.

She was a member of the Ladies Altar Society in Baldwin.

Mrs. Breaux is survived by one son, L.J. Breaux III of Kiln, Miss.; two daughters, Theckla Breaux Trahan of Baldwin and Dorothy Breaux Davis of Franklin; one brother, Lionel Martin Sr. of Jeanerette; one sister, Odette Martin Rivette of New Orleans; 13 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Breaux Jr.; one grandson; and her parents, Jack Martin Sr. and Eva Boudreaux Martin.

Ibert's Mortuary of Franklin is in charge of arrangements.

Joseph Mendoza Jr.

SCOTT - Services for Joseph "Eddie" Mendoza Jr., 53, will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with the Rev. Gilbert Dutel officiating. interment will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m.-10 p.m. today with a 7 p.m. rosary at Martin and Castille Funeral Home, which will reopen at 8 a.m. Friday.

A native of Lafayette and resident of Scott for 15 years, Mr. Mendoza died at 10:55 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2, 1997, at Lafayette General Medical Center.

He was employed by Lafayette General Medical Center as a security officer for 16 years, formerly employed at the Lafayette Water Plant for 13 years and a member of the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Community.

Mr. Mendoza is survived by his wife of 24 years, Martha Cormier Mendoza of Scott; one son, Joey Mendoza of Ruston; and two sisters, Gaelyn "Gail" Lopez and Rosemary Cormier, both of New Iberia.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Eddie Mendoza Sr. and Bernadette Chaisson Mendoza.

Pallbearers will be Mr. Mendoza's co-workers from Lafayette General's security department.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Acadiana, P.O. Box 3467, Lafayette, La. 70502.

Ruby M. Chaisson

Services for Ruby Marie Chaisson, 41, will begin at 7 p.m. today at Fletcher Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Francis Davis officiating. interment will be in the St. Matthew Cemetery at 9 a.m. Saturday.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 10 p.m. today at the funeral home, which will reopen at 7 a.m. Saturday until the time of dismissal at 9 a.m.

A resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Chaisson died at 9 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 26, 1997, at Iberia Medical Center following a lengthy illness.

She was employed as a bartender at Raps Lounge in New Iberia.

Mrs. Chaisson is survived by three daughters, Kesha Raychelle Chaisson, LaKendra Denis Chaisson and Chasity Larae Chaisson, all of New Iberia; two brothers, Matthew Bashay of Austin, Texas , and Henry Bashay Jr. of New Iberia; three sisters, Virginia A. Minor, Barbara A. Chaisson and Mary Bashay Simmons, all of New Iberia; and one grandchild, Tra-Kasha Chaisson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Bashay Sr. and Gertie Chaisson Bashay; one daughter, LaShana Chaisson; one brother, Robert Bashay; and two sisters, Shirley Bashay and Evelyn B. Broussard.

Pallbearers will be Gregory Harry, Andrew Ryes, Rickey Crofton, Wilbert Hill, Mack William and Theodore Hypolite.

Honorary pallbearers will be Claude Simmons, Christopher Simmons, James Simmons, Matthew Bashay, Cleveland Davis, Allen Benoit and Clevon Self.

The Fletcher Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.

Weppie Douglas

JEANERETTE - Services for Weppie Douglas, 70, will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday at Alex Lovett Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Edward Jordan officiating. interment will be in the Mount Zion Methodist Church Cemetery in Freetown.

Mr. Douglas died Sunday, Nov. 30, 1997, at Ben Taub Hospital in Houston after a lengthy illness.

The Alex Lovett Funeral Services Inc. of Jeanerette is in charge of arrangements.

Freddie F. Riles

Services for Freddie Fredrick Riles, 29, will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at Journet and Bolden Funeral Home. interment will be in the St. Matthew Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 7:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

A native of Patterson and resident of New Iberia for six years, Mr. Riles died Tuesday, Dec. 2, 1997.

He is survived by his wife, Samantha Poole Riles of Saracusaville; his mother, Elizabeth Rondeno of New Iberia; one son, Bryon Bias of Morgan City; four daughters, Shahia Sada Allen of Morgan City, Malayshia Moousha Wills of New Iberia, Christina Lashae Pete and Tierra Renee Pete, both of Lafayette; two brothers, Andrew Anthony Riles and Corey Elijah Riles of New Iberia; three sisters, Mary Ann Riles and Evelyn Butler, both of Patterson, and Lilly Mae Charles of Morgan City.

Mr. Riles was preceded in death by his father, Claude Welch; and one sister, Patricia Ann Riles.

Pallbearers will be friends and family members.

James Cowart Sr.

FRANKLIN - Services for James "J.D." Cowart Sr., will begin at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Ibert's Chapel with the Rev. Steve McQuiston officiating. interment will be in the Franklin Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-10 p.m. today at the funeral home, which will reopen at 10 a.m. Saturday.

A native of Mississippi and resident of Franklin, Mr. Cowart died at 12:20 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3, 1997, at Iberia Medical Center.

He is survived by his wife, Leonise Boudreaux Cowart of Franklin; three sons, James David Cowart Jr. of Oaklawn, Calvin "Peanut" Cowart Sr. and Billy Wayne Cowart, both of Franklin; one daughter, Diane Cowart Landry of Franklin; one brother, Curtis Cowart Sr. of Natchez, Miss.; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Mr. Cowart was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Eunice Smith Cowart; two sons, Leston Cowart II and Ricky Cowart; and one brother, Marvin Cowart.

Ibert's Mortuary of Franklin is in charge of arrangements.
