JEANERETTE - Services for Eugene J. Bourque, 44, will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. John Catholic Church. interment will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. today with a 7 p.m. rosary at David and Landry Funeral Home, which will reopen at 8 a.m. Thursday.

A native of Jeanerette and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Bourque died at 8 p.m. Sunday, April 12, 1998, at his residence.

He was employed with Norman Fence Co.

Mr. Bourque is survived by his father, Barnabe Bourque Jr. of New Iberia; one son, Shannon Bourque of Lafayette; one daughter, Mrs. Chris (Leslie) Segura of New Iberia; five brothers, Danny Bourque, Glenn Bourque and Barnabe Bourque III, all of New Iberia, Charles Bourque of New Orleans and Clint Bourque of Jeanerette; four sisters, Mrs. Terry (Noeline) Pichoff of New Orleans, Druella Leonard and Mrs. Herb (Shelia) Rodrigue both of Jeanerette, and Mrs. Sam (Brenda) Garb of New Iberia; his former wife, Linda Bourque Comeaux of Youngsville; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Sidonia Trimble Bourque; and one sister, Janice Bourque.

Pallbearers will be Jason Bourque, Craig Leonard, Danny Bourque Jr., Jeremy Bourque, Chris Segura and Herb Rodrigue.

Honorary pallbearer will be Clint Bourque Jr.

The David and Landry Funeral Home of Jeanerette is in charge of arrangements.

Alton A. Gonsoulin Sr.

Services for Alton Anthony Gonsoulin Sr., 89, will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday at David Funeral Home with the Rev. Steven LeBlanc , pastor of Sacred Heart Catholic Church officiating. interment will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-10 p.m. Friday with a 7 p.m. rosary at David Funeral Home, which will reopen at 9 a.m. Saturday.

A native of Loreauville and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Gonsoulin died at 2:37 p.m. Wednesday, April 15, 1998, at Dauterive Hospital.

He was employed for 45 years at Texaco Inc. as a tool pusher/ supervisor.

Mr. Gonsoulin is survived by his wife, Evelyn Romero Gonsoulin of New Iberia; three sons, Alton A. Gonsoulin Jr. of Houston, Gene J. Gonsoulin of Oneonta, Ala., and Lawrence Michael Gonsoulin of Houma; one sister, Mrs. Maurice (Evelyn) Provost of Loreauville; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dedier L. Gonsoulin and Marie Lawrence Mestayer Gonsoulin; one brother, Earl Gonsoulin; and one sister, Mrs. Alvin (Irene) Decuir.

Pallbearers will be Al Gonsoulin Jr., Gene Gonsoulin, Michael Gonsoulin, Al Gonsoulin III, Wade Gonsoulin and Bryan Gonsoulin.

The David Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.

James H. Higgins Jr.

CHARENTON - Services for James "Jamie" Howard Higgins Jr., 32, will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at Little Pass Baptist Church with the Rev. Bobby Hodnett officiating. Entombment will be in the Chitimacha Mausoleum.

Visitation will be from 6-10 p.m. today at Ibert's Mortuary in Franklin, which will reopen at 8 a.m. Friday.

A resident of Charenton, Mr. Higgins died Tuesday, April 14, 1998, at his residence.

He is survived by his mother, Ernestine Ann Johnston Higgins Olds of Charenton; his stepfather, Charles Olds of Charenton; two brothers, Richard "Ricky" Lee Higgins and Vernon "Bubba" James Higgins, both of Charenton; one sister, Elaine "Lulu" Ann Higgins of Charenton; two nieces, Danielle B. Persilver and Sherry M. Higgins, both of Charenton; and one nephew, Richard "Joey" Higgins of Charenton.

Mr. Higgins was preceded in death by his father, James "Hockey" Howard Higgins Sr.; and one brother, David Lyndon Higgins.

Ibert's Mortuary of Franklin is in charge of arrangements.

Lue E. Hicks

JEANERETTE - Services for Lue Ethel Hicks, 61, the former Lue Ethel Fergerson, will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday at Alex Lovett Funeral Home with the Rev. Arthur L. Alexander officiating. interment will be in the St. Peter United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home until the time of services.

A native of Jeanerette and resident of Chicago for many years, Mrs. Hicks died Wednesday, April 15, 1998, at University Medical Center in Lafayette after a brief illness.

She was a retried registered nurse in Chicago.

Mrs. Hicks is survived by one brother, Clarence Fergerson of Jeanerette; and five special nieces, Cheryl Fergerson of Lake Charles, Violet Fergerson, Angela Fergerson Robertson, Rose Fergerson Garrett and Patricia Yarbrough, all of Jeanerette.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Hicks; her parents, Elijah and Josephine Collins Fergerson; three brothers, Calvin Fergerson, Wilbur Fergerson and Isiah Fergerson; and one sister, Lucille Fergerson.

Pallbearers will be Brian K. Robertson, Kenneth Bernard, Shelby Davis, Daniel J. Landry, Jubria Lewis and Gregory Jones.

The Alex Lovett Funeral Services Inc. of Jeanerette is in charge of arrangements.

Joyce D. Barras

ST.MARTINVILLE - Services for Mrs. Dorsey Joseph Barras Sr., 56, the former Joyce Domingue, will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church with the Rev. Austin Leger officiating.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m.-10 p.m. today with a 5:30 p.m. rosary at Evangeline Funeral Home, which will reopen at 8 a.m. Saturday.

A native of St. Martinville and resident of Breaux Bridge, Mrs. Barras died at 3:23 a.m. Thursday, April 16, 1998, at a Breaux Bridge hospital.

She is survived by her husband, Dorsey Joseph Barras Sr. of Breaux Bridge; her mother, Amelina Boutte Domingue of Charenton; four sons, Raymond Barras and Robert Barras, both of Breaux Bridge, Dorsey J. Barras Jr. of New Iberia and Eric Barras of Cecilia; six brothers, Calvin Domingue of Bayou Sorel, Clifton Domingue of Seattle, Russell Domingue of Breaux Bridge, Egbert Domingue Jr. of Charenton, Henry Domingue of St. Martinville and Roland Domingue of Lawtell; two sisters, Nelda Charpentier of Charenton and Bertha Kelley of Bayou Sorel; seven grandchildren, Dorsey Barras III, John Barras, Kristy Barras and Matthew Barras, all of New Iberia, Kerri Barras, Jacob Barras and Bryant Barras all of Cecilia.

She was preceded in death by her father, Egbert Domingue Sr.; and one brother, Audressie Domingue.

Pallbearers will be Raymond Barras, Dorsey Barras Jr., Eric Barras, Robert Barras, Russell Domingue and Adam Domingue.

The Evangeline Funeral Home Inc. of St. Martinville is in charge of arrangements.

Eliza Roy

Services for Eliza Roy, 91, the former Eliza Allen, will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Edward Catholic Church with the Rev. Thomas James officiating. interment will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 7 a.m. Saturday with a 9:30 a.m. rosary at Fletcher's Funeral Home Chapel.

A resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Roy died at 4 a.m. Monday, April 13, 1998, at her residence following a brief illness.

She was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church and a member of Our Lady of Victory Court No. 63 Ladies Auxiliary Knights of Peter Claver for 62 years, where she held the title of Mistress at Arms for many years.

Mrs. Roy is survived by her husband, Whitney Roy of New Iberia; one son, Leo Roy of New Orleans; one sister, Florence M. Bush of Houston; two sisters-in-law, Edith Butler and Amelia Castillo; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Adam Allen and Alice Lasalle Allen; one son, Jimmy Roy; one sister, Lillian Allen Jones; and two brothers, Clifton Allen and Clarence Allen.

Pallbearers will be James M. Bush Jr., Irvin M. Celestine, Eric L. Kidd, Wayne Lewis, Lewis Sonn Jr. and Kenneth Kelly.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. M.A. Broussard, Shelton Jones, C.W. Jones, Jonathan Jones and the Castillo Brothers.

The Fletcher Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.

Bounthan Keohavong

Services for Bounthan Keohavong, 96, will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Evangeline Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Soubanh Keohavong, pastor of Highland Baptist Laotian Mission, officiating. interment will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. - 10 p.m. today at the Evangeline Funeral Home Chapel, which will reopen at 8 a.m. Sunday until time of services.

A native of Laos and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Keohavong died at 5:15 a.m. Friday, April 17, 1998, at her residence.

She was a member of the Highland Baptist Laotian Mission.

Mrs. Keohavong is survived by four sons, Ly Keohavong of New Iberia, Malakoi Keohavong, Bouatsong Keohavong and Peter Keohavong, all of Laos; four daughters, Leedy Keohavong, Matha Keohavong and Deela Keohavong, all of New Iberia and Pesila Keohavong of France and 226 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and other relatives throughout the world.

Mrs. Keohavong was preceded in death by her husband, Keo Keohavong; two sons, Khamtsone Keohavong and Khammanh Keohavong; one daughter, Damaly Keohavong; her parents, brothers and sisters.

Pallbearers will be members of the family.

The Evangeline Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.
