Elizabeth W. Johnson

Services for Elizabeth "Gal" Johnson , 59, the former Elizabeth Williams, will begin at 1 p.m. Monday at the Fletcher Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. David Greene Sr. officiating. interment will be in the Saint Paul Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-10 p.m. Sunday in the Fletcher Funeral Home Chapel, which will reopen at 7 a.m. Monday until time of services.

A resident of New Iberia, Ms. Johnson died at 5:08 a.m. Wednesday, March 25, 1998, at Dauterive Hospital following a brief illness.

She is survived by her companion, Walter Broussard of New Iberia; one son, Gabriel Williams of New Iberia; two step-sons, Edward Warner and Clement Brown, both of New Iberia; one foster son, Clement Stokes of New Iberia; three daughters, Delores Savoy, Louella Johnson and Theresa Gilliam, all of New Iberia; two brothers, Irving Williams and Raymond Williams, both of New Iberia; three sisters, Eula Mae Williams of New Iberia, Selena Joseph of Galveston and Hilda Harris of Beaumont; 27 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Johnson Sr.; her parents, Oswald Williams Sr. and Orelia Times Williams; three sons, Edward Johnson Jr., Wesley Johnson and Weston Johnson , and two brothers, Oswald Williams Jr. and Earl Williams.

Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be members of the immediate family.

The Fletcher Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.

Sherri H. Tullos

CHOCTAW COUNTY, Miss. – Services for Sherri Henson Tullos, 56, of New Iberia will be held at 2 p.m. today at New Haven Baptist Church. interment will be in the church cemetery in Choctaw County.

A resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Tullos died Sunday, April 19, 1998, at Iberia General Medical Center.

She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Tullos is survived by her husband, John Tullos of New Iberia; her father, Charlie Henson of New Iberia; one son, Kenneth Block of Aurora, Colo.; three daughters, Sandra Leleux and Ladonna Menville both of New Iberia and Tammy Miller of Patterson; two brothers, Roger Henson and Sonny Henson both of Bayou Vista; one sister, Brenda Poole of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and eight grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Corrine Mitchell.

Nowell Funeral Services of Kosciusko, Miss., is in charge of arrangements.

Clyde A. Guyote

JEANERETTE - Services for Clyde A. Guyote, 50, will begin at 2 p.m. today at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with the Rev. Ed Degeyter officiating. interment will be in the church cemetery.

A native of St. Mary Parish and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Guyote died at 4:06 p.m. Tuesday, April 21, 1998, at Iberia Medical Center.

He was an insurance salesman for Security Industrial Insurance Co. and a U.S. National Guard veteran.

Mr. Guyote is survived by two sons, Sterling J. Guyote of New Iberia and Clyde A. “Guyote” Leblanc of Baton Rouge; one daughter, Lori Ann Guyote Louviere of Lafayette; three brothers, Errol Guyote of Broussard, Huey Guyote of Jeanerette and Stewart Guyote of Bridge City, Texas ; two sisters, Mrs. Carroll “Peggy” Lancon of Baldwin and Mrs. John “Carlos” Ramirez of New Iberia; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sterling and June Chauvin Guyote; and one brother, Lawrence Guyote.

Pallbearers will be Sterling J. Guyote, Errol Guyote, Huey Guyote, Stewart Guyote, John Ramirez and Mitchell J. Ramirez.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family to help defray funeral expenses.

The David and Landry Funeral Home of Jeanerette is in charge of arrangements.

Emma A. Warren

DALLAS - Services for Emma Andre’ Warren will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church with the Dr. Ervin Roorda officiating. Entombment will be in the Restland Memorial Park.

A native of New Iberia and resident of Dallas, Mrs. Warren died Tuesday, April 21, 1998.

She graduated from University of Southwest Louisiana , receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Education in 1932, began her teaching career in Pecan Island continuing on to Wichita Falls, Texas , and retired from the Carrollton-Farmers Branch I.S.D. Mrs. Warren was a member of Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church, Dallas Geological and Geophysical Auxiliary, Geoflora Garden Club, Growing Saints Garden Club and Good Grief.

Mrs. Warren is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Diane Warren of Danisville, N.Y.; one daughter Mrs. Helen Gregg of Dallas; two grandchildren, Kent A. Warren and Debra Warren; two brothers, Robert Andre’ and Richard Andre’, both of New Iberia; one sister, Helen St. Marie of Lafayette; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Warren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the American Heart Association, 1615 Stemmons Frwy., Dallas, Texas , 75207.

The Restland Funeral Home of Dallas is in charge of arrangements.

Deluke Broussard

ERATH - Services for Deluke Broussard, 95, were held at 10 a.m. today at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Entombment was in the church mausoleum.

A native of Vermilion Parish and resident of Erath, Mr. Broussard died at 7:05 p.m. Tuesday, April 21, 1998, at Abbeville General Hospital.

The David and Broussard Funeral Home of Erath was in charge of arrangements.

Sadie B. Fisher

Memorial services for Sadie B. Fisher, 93, the former Sadie Bohrer, will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mike McLaurin officiating.

A native of Alexandria and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Fisher died Thursday, April 23, 1998, at Iberia Medical Center.

She is survived by one son, John Fisher of New Iberia; one brother, Noah Bohrer of Alexandria; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Fisher was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Heyman Bohrer; five brothers, Moxie Bohrer, Morris Bohrer, Willie Bohrer, Abbie Bohrer and Harry Bohrer; four sisters, Tillie Myers, Jennie Testa, Marion Bohrer and Gussie McLoughlin; and one infant great-grandchild.

Vivian L. Viator

DELCAMBRE - Services for Mrs. Fernand Viator Jr., 67, the former Vivian Mae LeBlanc , will begin at 12 p.m. Saturday at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with the Rev. Thomas Voorhies officiating. Entombment will be in the church mausoleum.

Visitation will be from 3:30-10 p.m. today with an 8:30 p.m. rosary at Evangeline Funeral Home, which will reopen at 8 a.m. Saturday.

A native of Jeanerette and resident of Delcambre, Mrs. Viator died at 11:55 p.m. Thursday, April 23, 1998, at a New Iberia hospital.

She is survived by her husband, Fernand Viator Jr. of Delcambre; two sons, Gene G. Viator and Ted J. Viator, both of Delcambre; three daughters, Fran V. Menard, Nancy Rae Viator and Sara V. Touchard, all of Delcambre; one sister, Ormine LeBlanc Robicheaux of New Iberia; 18 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Viator was preceded in death by her parents, Denas and Odile Landry LeBlanc ; and one brother, Dudley J. LeBlanc .

Pallbearers will be family members and friends.

The Evangeline Funeral Home of Delcambre is in charge of arrangements.

Richard Voorhies

Services for Richard O. Voorhies, 69, will begin at 9:30 a.m. Monday at the Memorial Park Cemetery, with the Rev. Michael Guidry officiating. interment will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery of New Iberia.

No visitation is scheduled.

A native of Amarillo and a resident of Jeanerette, Mr. Voorhies was formerly a resident of New Iberia. He died at 8:56 a.m. Thursday, April 23, 1998, at the Maison Teche Nursing Home in Jeanerette.

He was employed as a roughneck before retiring and was a veteran.

He is survived by one brother, Conrad Voorhies of Texas . He was preceded in death by his parents, Olivier Voorhies and Margaret Conrad Voorhies, and a sister, Barbara Voorhies.

The David Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.

Clarence Evans

Services for Clarence Dean Evans, 61, were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church of New Iberia, with the Rev. Michael Guidry officiating. interment was in the Memorial Park Cemetery with military graveside rites.

A native of Cave Springs, Ark. and a resident of New Iberia, Mr. Evans died at 12:50 p.m. Monday, April 20, 1998, at his residence.

He was employed by Western Atlas & McCullough as a wireline operator for 25 years. He also was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Evans was a member of Woodmen of the World Camp 34. The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1982 conducted the graveside rites. A beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, he will be sadly missed but will always be remembered for his large capacity to love.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Johnson Evans of New Iberia; a son, Ricky Paul Evans of New Iberia; a foster son, "Squeaky" Dean Davidson of New Iberia; three daughters, Cindia Dupuis of New Iberia, Debra Enzmann of Tracy, CA, and Tammy Palmisano of New Iberia; a foster daughter, Nicole Norris of New Iberia; a brother, Andrew Evans of Lowell, Ark.; a sister, Willine Evans of Rogers, Ark.; four granddaughters, Brittany Dupuis of New Iberia, Gabriele Enzmann of Tracy, CA, Jaci Chae Evans of New Iberia and Cherime Nicole Palmisano of New Iberia; and five grandsons, Cody Ray Dupuis and Tyler Daniel Dupuis of New Iberia, Evan Wagner Enzmann of Tracy, CA, Dakuiry Seth Palmisano and James Dean Palmisano of New Iberia.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Evans and Nannie Belle Brown Evans; one son, Carroll David Evans; one brother, Billy Gene Evans; a half-brother, Glenn Mabry; and three sisters, Marjorie Birdge, Catherine Ford and Lorraine George.

Pallbearers were Richard Dean David, "Squeaky" Davidson, Karl Enzmann, David Lee Hilton, Alfred Johnson and Tom Kelly.

Honorary pallbearers were Glaze Childs, Walter Derouen, Cody Dupuis, Dakuiry Seth Palmisano and James Dean Palmisano.

The David Funeral Home of New Iberia was in charge of arrangements.
