Lela G. Freeman
Services for Mrs. Walter J. Freeman, 91, the former Lela Guilbeau, will begin at 2 p.m. Friday at David Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Michael Guidry officiating. interment will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4:30-10 p.m. today with a 7 p.m. rosary at the funeral home, which will reopen at 9 a.m. Friday until the time of services.
A native of Carencro and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Freeman died at 12:40 a.m. Thursday, April 30, 1998, at Iberia Medical Center.
She is survived by three sons, Bobby Freeman and Walter Reed Freeman, both of New Iberia, and Patrick Freeman of Jeanerette; two daughters, Lela Rose Freeman Ashy of Lafayette and Lorraine Freeman Broussard of New Iberia; one sister, Florence Patin of Lafayette; 11 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Freeman was preceded in death by her husband, Walter J. Freeman; her parents, Authur Guilbeau and Estelle Guilbeau Guilbeau; two brothers, Authur Lee Guilbeau and Rene’ Guilbeau; and two sisters, Beatrice Camel and Birdie Patin.
Pallbearers will be Thad Broussard, Boyd J. Freeman, Darren James Freeman, Jonathan V. Freeman, Robert Warren Freeman and Ray Picou.
Honorary pallbearers Harry Barton, Robert Broussard, Jeremy Picou and Tommy Sargent.

Dorothy A. Lee
Services for Dorothy A. Lee, 66, the former Dorothy Ambrose, will begin at 8 p.m. today at Fletcher Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Harold Syrie officiating. interment will be in the St. Matthew Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-10 p.m. today at the funeral home, which will reopen from 7:30-10 a.m. Saturday.
A resident of New Iberia for many years, Mrs. Lee died at 2:50 a.m. Sunday, April 26, 1998, at University Medical Center following a brief illness.
She is survived by her husband, Russell Lee Sr. of New Iberia; four sons, Harold Lee, Darrell Lee, Joseph Lee and Russell Lee Jr., all of New Iberia; one daughter, Josephine Phillips of New Iberia; three brothers, Leonard Ambrose and Edward Ambrose, both of New Iberia and Arthur Ambrose of Hartford, Conn.; three sisters, Willie Mae Ambrose, Delores A. Raymond and Elizabeth Jones all of New Iberia; six grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Lee was preceded in death by her parents, Amos Ambrose Sr. and Melvina T. Ambrose; two daughters, Linda Lee Vangure and Susanna Lee; and one brother, Amos Ambrose Jr.
Pallbearers will be Harold Lee, Darrell Lee, Joseph Lee, Corey Raymond, Cubalyn Johnson and Robbie Johnson .
Honorary pallbearers will be Russell Lee Jr. Arthur Ambrose, Leonard Ambrose, Edward Ambrose, Jarius Lee and Arthur Reno.

Otis J. Decuir
Services for Otis “Cap” Joseph Decuir, 60, will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Edward Catholic Church with the Rev. Thomas James officiating. interment will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 7 a.m. Saturday with a 9 a.m. rosary at Journet and Bolden Funeral Home Chapel.
A native and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Decuir died at 4:30 p.m. Saturday April 25, 1998, at Iberia Medical Center following a lengthy illness.
He is survived by three sons, Lawerence Decuir, William Anthony Decuir Sr., and Joseph Decuir, all of New Iberia; three daughters, Loria Decuir Lewis of Four Corners, Jacqueline Boutte and Barbara Ann Gilliam, both of New Iberia; one brother, Arthur Paul Decuir of New Iberia; one sister, Gloria D. Jacquet of New Iberia; and 19 grandchildren.
Mr. Decuir was preceded in death by his parents, Felix Decuir and Aline Jean Batiste; one son, Otis Joseph Decuir Jr.; one daughter, Rhonda Decuir; and one sister, Emma Elow.
Pallbearers will be friends and family members.

Raymond A. Guillotte Bonin
Services for Raymond “Rain Man” A. Guillotte Bonin, 26, will begin at 1 p.m. today at David and Jacquemoud Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. William Rogalla officiating. interment will be in the Methodist Cemetery
in St. Martinville.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. today at the funeral home.
A native of Franklin and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Bonin died at 4:08 p.m. Wednesday, April 29, 1998, at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Lafayette.
He is survived by his father, August Bonin II of New Iberia; his mother, Agnes “Puppi” Guillotte Lallande of Huntsville, Ala.; one brother, Dennis Lallande Dugan of St. Martinville; eight sisters, Denise M. Guillotte of Pasadena, Texas , Crystal Lallande Abney and Mellisa Lallande Abney, Chantel Guillotte, Dawn Guillotte and Tony Guillotte, all of New Iberia; Claudette Guillotte and Stacey Lallande Jernigan, both of St. Martinville; his paternal grandmother, Mary L. Bonin of New Iberia; his maternal grandfather, Paul T. Guillotte of Jeanerette; a special friend, Janet Richard of New Iberia; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mr. Bonin was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, August Bonin Sr.; and his maternal grandmother, Marjorie Derouen Guillotte.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Memorials may be made to the family to defray funeral cost.

Beatrice R. Batiste
Services for Beatrice R. Batiste, 68, the former Beatrice Rankin, will begin at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Edward Catholic Church with the Rev. Thomas James officiating. interment will be in the St. Matthew Cemetery.

A resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Batiste died at 1:50 p.m. Sunday, April 26, 1998, at Iberia Medical Center following a brief illness.
She was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church.
Mrs. Batiste is survived by her mother, Mildred Johnson Rankin of New Iberia; one son, Larry Collins of New Iberia; one stepson, David McCoy Jr. of Franklin; seven daughters, Jacqueline Colbert, Marion Batiste, Sheila Rankin, and Mildred Walker, all of New Iberia, Beverly Jean Batiste of Hartford, Conn., Shirley Fontenette of Port Arthur, Texas , and Charlene Batiste of Lafayette; 34 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Henry Rankin; her husband, Paul Junius Jean Batiste; and two sons, Fredrick McCoy and Dennis Batiste.
Pallbearers will be Olivier Walker Jr., Diallo McCoy, Roland Jeanlouis, Ira Valore, Louis Alexander Jr. and Clarence McCoy.
Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Colllins, Glenwood Alexander, Norman Anthony, Sylvester Sigure, Micheal Pierre, Davian Batiste, Clement Brown and Robert Kirkwood.

Eliza Davis
ABBEVILLE - Services for Eliza Davis, 76, will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Theresa Catholic Church with the Rev. Chester Arceneaux officiating. interment will be in the St. Paul Cemetery.

A resident of Abbeville for many years, Ms. Davis died at 12:43 p.m. Monday, April 27, 1998, at Abbeville General Hospital following a brief illness.
She is survived by two sisters, Mable Myles of Abbeville and Exzetta Watson of Port Arthur, Texas ; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Ms. Davis was preceded in death by her parents, Olivier Davis and Eliza Davis; two brothers, Clifton Davis and Preston Davis; and one sister, Eula Davis.
Pallbearers will be Terrance Dauphine, Corey Celestine, Milton Collins, Micheal Cormier, Gerald Watson and Ernie J. Davis.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the immediate family.

Wallice O. Durbin
HARVEY - Memorial services for Wallice O’Quin Durbin, 79, will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday at The Chapel of Mothe Funeral Home.
A native of Alexandria, Mrs. Durbin died at 6:05 p.m. Wednesday, April 29, 1998.
She was a charter member and president of Aurora Plantation Gardeners, president of New Orleans Council of Nationally Accredited Flower Show Judges, recipient of the 1975 Peter D. Nielson Horticulture Achievement Award, board member of Louisiana Horticulture Research Society, a nationally accredited master flower show judge and a member of DAR and PEO.
She will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, great sense of humor and as a expert amateur fisherman, bridge player and lover of animals.
Mrs. Durbin is survived by her husband, Gilbert J. Durbin; two daughters, Mrs. Elaine Abell of Lafayette and Mrs. Doris Heard of Friendswood, Texas ; one brother, Robert O’Quin Jr. of Alexandria; and three grandchildren, Edward Charles Abell III and Jessica Durbin Abell, both of Lafayette and Christopher Durbin Heard of Friendswood.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lucille Peters O’Quin and Robert Newton O’Quin.
