Gloria Jean Stake

LAFAYETTE - Memorial services for Gloria Jean Stake, 56, will be begin at 7 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church.

A native of Bossier City and resident of Little Rock, Ark., Mrs. Stake died Thursday April 30, 1998.

She was a school teacher for 30 years and a member of Parkway Place Baptist Church.

Mrs. Stake is survived by her husband, J.D. Stake; three sons, Jay Stake of Little Rock, Jon Stake of Lafayette and Joel Stake of Alexandria; two brothers, Charles Lacy and James Lacy; and one sister, Cathy Crawford all of New Iberia.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Everna Lacy; and one sister, Rachel Lacy.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

The Roller-Chenal Funeral Home of Little Rock was in charge of arrangements.

Elton John Lewis

JEANERETTE - Services for Elton JohnLewis, 22, will begin at 8 p.m. today at First Jerusalem Baptist Church with the Rev. Arthur Lee Alexander officiating. interment will be in the Hope Cemetery of Jeanerette at 10 a.m. Thursday.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at the church.

A native and resident of New Iberia, Mr. JohnLewis died at 7:45 p.m. Thursday, April 30, 1998, in an accidental drowning at Baez Road Pond in New Iberia.

He is survived by his parents, Elton Boutte of Franklin and Enola JohnLewis of Jeanerette; two daughters, San Taisha Branaee JohnLewis of Jeanerette and Al Jantae Desire JohnLewis of New Iberia; three brothers, Charles JohnLewis and Andre JohnLewis, both of New Iberia, and Embrick Boutte of Jeanerette; one stepbrother, Dion Hypolite of New Iberia; and six sisters, Yolanda Martin of Lafayette, Evelyn King of Port Arthur, Texas , Sonia JohnLewis and Andrea JohnLewis, both of New Iberia, Sheria Boutte and Dominique Boutte both of Franklin.

The Otis Mortuary of Franklin is in charge of arrangements.

Lawres P. Landry

VILLE PLATTE - Services for Lawres “Catfish” “Mr. Cat” P. Landry, 81, will begin at 2 p.m. today at Queen of All Saints Catholic Church with the Rev. Randy Moreau officiating. interment will be in the Old Ville Platte Cemetery.

A native of Delcambre and resident of Franklin for the past 47 years, Mr. Landry died at 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 5, 1998, at Franklin Nursing Home.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Agnes Andrus Landry of Franklin and formerly of Ville Platte; and one son, Garrie Landry of Franklin.

The Ardoin Funeral Home of Ville Platte is in charge of arrangements.

Rosa B. Trahan

BROUSSARD - Services for Mrs. Sidney Trahan, 93, the former Rosa Broussard, will begin at 2 p.m. today at St. Anne Catholic Church. interment will be in the Broussard Cemetery in Milton.

Visitation will be at David Funeral Home of Broussard until the time of services.

A native of Maurice and resident of Youngsville, Mrs. Trahan died at 3:40 p.m. Tuesday, May 5, 1998, at Magnolia Place Nursing Home in Lafayette.

The David Funeral Home of Broussard is in charge of arrangements.

Margaret Peltier

BRIDGE CITY, Texas - Services for Margaret (Maggie) Peltier, 72, will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Henry’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Jim McClintock officiating. Entombment will be in the Hillcrest Memorial Mausoleum in Orange, Texas .

Visitation will be today with a 7 p.m. rosary at Claybar Funeral Home.

A native of New Iberia and resident of Bridge City, Mrs. Peltier died Tuesday, May 5, 1998, at St. Mary Hospital in Port Arthur.

She was a former resident of Lydia, also known as Peoples Plantation, a homemaker and member of St. Henry’s Catholic Church.

She is survived by her husband, Preston “PJ” Peltier Sr. of Bridge City; three sons, Preston “PJ” Peltier Jr. of Houston, Wayne Peltier of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Carl Peltier of Bridge City; two daughters, Irma Hannegan of West Monroe and Wanda Billups of Texas City; four sisters, Martha Domingue of Port Arthur, Rose Broussard, Ruby Hebert and Jeannie Oflarity all of New Iberia; and 10 grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Wayne Peltier Jr., Jason Hannegan, Zachary Peltier, Craig Peltier, Hayden Peltier and Eric Billups.

Honorary pallbearers will be Len Hannegan and Tab Billups.

The Claybar Funeral Home of Bridge City, Texas , is in charge of arrangements.

Rebecca A. Broussard

JEANERETTE - Services for Rebecca “Becky” Ann Broussard, 29, will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at St. John the Evangelist Church with the Rev. Ed Degeyter officiating. Entombment will be in the church mausoleum.

Visitation will be from 5-10 p.m. today with a 7 p.m. rosary at David and Landry Funeral Home, which will reopen at 8 a.m. Friday.

A native of Jeanerette and resident of New Iberia, Ms. Broussard died at 1:27 p.m. Monday, May 4, 1998, at Cypremort Point (Weeks Bay).

She was a salesperson for Bayou Boeuf Electric, had worked for Jeanerette Mills for 8-9 years, and was a graduate of Jeanerette Senior High and the Academy Hair Design.

Ms. Broussard is survived by her parents, Lucien Broussard and Rita Bonin Broussard of Jeanerette; one son, Matthew Paul Migues of New Iberia; her fiancee; Jeff Brandon of New Iberia; one brother, Kevin “Bruce” Broussard and his wife, Lisa of Jeanerette; one sister, Sheila Fay Broussard of Jeanerette; two nieces, Kara Broussard and Kayla Broussard, both of Jeanerette; her maternal grandmother, Bernadette Bonin of Jeanerette; and her ex-husband, Chad Migues.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Pierre Martel Broussard and Hilda Migues Broussard; her maternal grandfather, Ulysses “Crip” J. Bonin Sr.; and one aunt, Lillie B. Foco.

Pallbearers will be Kevin “Bruce” Broussard, Rodney J. Foco; Jeff Brandon, Chad Verret, Danny Dugas and Robert Picard.

Honorary pallbearers will be Matthew P. Migues, Michelle Dugas, Valerie Brown, Brian Longman, Jr. and co-workers of Bayou Boeuf Electric.

The David and Landry Funeral Home of Jeanerette is in charge of arrangements.

Angeline L. LeGlue

JEANERETTE - Services for Mrs. Ervin B. LeGlue, 79, the former Angeline Landry, will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with the Rev. Ed Degeyter officiating. interment will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4:30-8 p.m. today at David and Landry Funeral Home, which will reopen at 9 a.m. Saturday.

A native and resident of Jeanerette, Mrs. LeGlue died at 7:45 a.m. Thursday, May 7, 1998, at Iberia Medical Center.

She was a retired telephone operator for South Central Bell.

Mrs. LeGlue is survived by one sister, Mrs. Norby (Eva) Dooley Sr. of Jeanerette; and two nephews Clyde Dooley of Baton Rouge and Norby Dooley Jr. of New Iberia.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ervin B. LeGlue; her parents, Rene A. Landry and Clorie Louviere Landry; and one niece, Mary Catherine Dooley.

Pallbearers will be family members.

The David and Landry Funeral Home of Jeanerette is in charge of arrangements.

Martha H. Guillotte

FRANKLIN - Services for Martha Hebert Guillotte, 84, will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at Church of Assumption with the Rev. Russo officiating. interment will be in the Franklin Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-10 p.m. today with a 7 p.m. rosary at Ibert’s Chapel, which will reopen at 8 a.m. Saturday.

Mrs. Guillotte died at 9:55 p.m. Wednesday. May 6, 1998, at Franklin Foundation Hospital.

She was a member of the Catholic Daughters and Ladies Altar Society.

Mrs. Guillotte is survived by one son, Larry A. Guillotte of New Iberia; six daughters, Mrs. Charles (Lois) Powell of Naperville, Ill., Mrs. Russell (Norma) Prince of Lydia, Mrs. Dewey (Dianne) Ryals of Orlando, Fla., Mrs. Roy (Emily) Louviere of Houston, Mrs. Donnie (Fay) Coots and Mrs. Tony (Lorraine) Scelfo, both of Franklin; two sisters, Mrs. Lawrence (Nora) Clements of Charenton and Mrs. Dalton (Mamie) Broussard of Franklin; 18 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin “Blue” Guillotte; her parents, Odressie Hebert and Christine Martin Hebert; four brothers, Bennette, Emile, Charles Ray and Dennis Hebert; three sisters, Odette Louviere, Grace Delane and Lena Comeaux and one grandson, Todd Anthony Guillotte.

Pallbearers will be the grandsons of Mrs. Guillotte.

Ibert’s Mortuary of Franklin is in charge of arrangements.

Forester J. Sicard

KENNER - Services for Forester J. Sicard, 87, were held Tuesday, May 5, 1998, at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home. Entombment was in the Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum.

A native and resident of Kenner, Mr. Sicard died Sunday, May 3, 1998.

He is survived by his wife, Violet Nick Sicard of Kenner; one daughter, Mrs. Michael J. (Faye Nick Sicard) Tarantino of New Iberia; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Memorial donations may be made to the Iberia Parish Library, 445 E. Main St., New Iberia, La. 70560 or to Catholic High School, 1301 De LaSalle Drive, New Iberia, La. 70560
