Jeannette G. Daigle
Services for Mrs. Landry L. Daigle, 92, the former Jeannette Griffin, will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Evangeline Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mike McLaurin officiating. interment will be in the Roselawn Cemetery
in Baton Rouge at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at the funeral home, which will reopen at 9 a.m. Wednesday.
A native of Evergreen and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Daigle died at 10:03 a.m. Sunday May, 10, 1998, in a local hospital.
She is survived by one son, Stephen L. Daigle of Yorba Linda, Calif.; three nieces, Mrs. George (Janie) Cousin of New Iberia, Pattie Lesage of Smithville, N.J., and Mrs. Michael (Carol) Pistorius of Minden; three nephews, Frank S. Brown Jr. of Metairie, Charles Gary Brown of Carrolton, Texas , and Bob Stewart of Bay City, Texas ; and one sister, Audrey B. Chauvin of New Iberia.
Mrs. Daigle was preceded in death by her husband, Landry L. Daigle; her parents, Edward and Bena J. Duval Griffin; one brother, Frank S. Brown Sr.; and one sister, Gertrude G. Stewart.
Pallbearers will be Stephen L. Daigle, Frank S. Brown Jr., Charles Gary Brown, George B. Cousin, Michael L. Pistorius and Frank S. Brown III.

Alfred Landry
ERATH - Services for Alfred Landry, 83, will begin at 1 p.m. today at David and Broussard Funeral Home. Entombment will be in Our Lady of Lourdes Mausoleum.
A native of Vermilion Parish and resident of Houma, Mr. Landry died at 1:50 a.m. Monday, May 11, 1998, at Southdown Care Center in Houma.

Robbie L. Young
Memorial services for Robbie Lee Trantham Young, 72, were held at 9 a.m. today at Azalea Villa Nursing Home with the Rev. Mike Guidry, pastor of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, officiating.
A native of Cleburne, Texas , and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Young died at 7:14 p.m. Thursday, May 7, 1998, at a New Iberia hospital.
She is survived by one son, Harold E. Trantham of New Iberia; four grandchildren, Terresa Cardina of Phoenix, Jason Trantham of Mayfield, Ky., James Trantham and Harold Trantham Jr., both of New Iberia; and six great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Young was preceded in death by her parents, Robert E. and Bessie Warren Lee; her first husband, Harold M. Trantham; and her second husband, James A. Young.

Mary S. Molbert
Services for Mrs. Raymond “Rip” Molbert Sr., the former Mary Ann Smith, will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Evangeline Funeral Home Chapel with the Deacon Ken Waguespack officiating. Entombment will be in the Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Visitation will be from 4-9 p.m. today with a 7 p.m. rosary at the funeral home, which will reopen at 8 a.m. Wednesday.
A native and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Molbert died at 10:42 a.m. Monday, May 11, 1998, at a Lafayette hospital.
She was an avid golf player and bowler, and had won several city and parish golf championships.
Mrs. Molbert is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Jim (Sally M.) Angers and Mrs. Bobby (Liz M.) Bodin, both of New Iberia; one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Raymond “Rip” (Harriet LeBlanc ) Molbert Jr. of New Iberia; one brother, E.R. “Smitty” Smith Jr. of New Iberia; one sister, Mrs. Larry (Frankie) Toups of New Iberia; six grandchildren, Tim DeClouet, Ben DeClouet, Mia Molbert Landry, Becky Angers and Rip Molbert III, all of New Iberia, and Jim Angers Jr. of Carencro; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond “Rip” Molbert Sr.; one son, Raymond “Rip” Molbert Jr.; her parents, Elbridge Ruffin and Angelle Romero Smith Sr.; and three sisters, Hester S. Derise, Margaret S. Dennison and Dorothy “Dot” Smith.
Pallbearers will be Tim DeClouet, Ben DeClouet, Mia Molbert Landry, Becky Angers, Rip Molbert III and Jim Angers Jr.

Vernice J. Buteau
JEANERETTE - Services for Vernice J. “Papa Fis” Buteau, 81, will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday at David and Landry Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ed Degeyter officiating. interment will be in the St. John Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5:30-10 p.m. today with a 6:15 p.m. rosary at the funeral home, which will reopen at 8 a.m. Wednesday.
A native and resident of Jeanerette, Mr. Buteau died at 3:20 p.m. Monday, May 11, 1998, at Iberia Medical Center.
He was a retired rough neck with Diamond M. Drilling and Texaco.
Mr. Buteau is survived by one son, Joseph J. “Joe” Buteau of Jeanerette; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lucien Buteau and Elmire Guillotte Buteau; one son, Moses “Moe” Buteau; one daughter, Lula Belle B. LaRieve; and three brothers, Alfred Buteau, Paul Buteau and Thonis Buteau.
Pallbearers will be family members.
Honorary pallbearers will be Brian Buteau, Wilfred Migues, Phyllis Buteau, Nelson Guillotte, and Cheryl Landry.

Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the church, which will reopen at 7 a.m. Thursday.
A native and lifelong resident of New Iberia, Mrs. James died at 8:30 a.m. Sunday, May 9, 1998, at Baptist Memorial Medical Center in New Orleans following a lengthy illness.
She was a member of the Young Matrons at Mt. Zion No. 1 Baptist Church, the Jubilee Choir and the Jubilee Singing Convention.
Mrs. James is survived by her husband, Archie Joseph James of New Iberia; her parents, Woodrow Wilson Polk Sr. and Mildred Thibodeaux Polk of New Iberia; three sons, Derrick Shawn James, Archie Joseph James Jr. and Marcus Gregory James, all of New Iberia; four brothers, Rogers Polk, Woodrow Wilson Polk Jr., Frank Polk and Anthony Polk, all of New Iberia; and five sisters, Mary Lee Polk Delahoussaye of Lafayette, Elizabeth Ann Polk Broussard, Debra Polk Placide, Denise Polk Garrette and Vanessa Polk Martin, all of New Iberia.
She was preceded in death by a stillborn twin sister; her maternal grandparents, Mary “Mame” C. Polk and Junius Polk Sr.; and one niece, La Tonya La Shay Placide.
Pallbearers will be Arthur Malveaux, Henry Hypolite, Rashad Delahoussaye, Donna Ledet, James Jones, Bryan Livingston and Wilson Livingston Jr.

Services for Louis “Elsegundo” Sonn Sr., 60, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Star Pilgrim Baptist Church with the Rev. Francis Davis officiating. interment will be in the St. Matthew Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
A native of Opelousas and resident of New Iberia for 30 years, Mr. Sonn died at 8:30 p.m. Saturday, May 9, 1998, at a Lafayette hospital following a lengthy illness.
Mr. Sonn is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Bazile Sonn of New Iberia; his stepmother, Annie Dot Sonn of Longview, Texas ; three sons, Michael James Sonn of New Iberia, Kenneth Wayne Joseph and Louis Sonn Jr., both of Beaumont, Texas ; five daughters, Sandra Sophus, Gethel S. Dauphiney, Edith Theresa Sonn, Jennifer Sonn and Elizabeth Sonn, all of New Iberia; four brothers, Rev. Joseph Taylor and Clarence Sonn, both of Beaumont, Texas ; and Paul Sonn and Willie James Horns, both of Opelousas; one sister, Evelyn H. Toussaint of Opelousas; and 10 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Cleveland Sonn; his mother, Ophelia Hudson Horns; and one grandson, Justin Jamal Sonn.
