Barbara H. Broussard
CARENCRO - On May 11, 1998, Barbara Broussard entered into everlasting life and glory. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 13, 1998, at a 3 p.m. Mass in St. Peters Catholic Church in Carencro for Barbara Ann Broussard, 41, the former Barbara Hebert, who died Monday, May 11, 1998, at 9:40 p.m. in Lafayette General Medical Center.
interment will be in Evangeline Memorial Gardens in Carencro. The Rev. Jerome Frey, celebrant, pastor of Community of Jesus Crucified of the Lafayette Diocese, will officiate at the services, along with co-celebrant, Rev. Gregory Downs, pastor of St. Peters Catholic Church. Readers will be Janet Guidry, Simone Myhand and Miriam Cline. Gift bearers will be Roxie Landry and Michelle Williams. Altar servers will be Jessie Myhand, Joseph Myhand, Saul Dupuis and Joshua Reagan.
Musical selections will be provided by Kenny Champagne, Mike Totaro, Denise Faugot and Vickie Fruge. The songs will be “On Eagles Wings,” “Amazing Grace,” “Refiner’s Fire,” “Always Be a Child,” ”How Great Thou Art” and “Hail Mary.”
Mrs. Broussard was a native of Lafayette and a resident of Carencro for the past 16 years. She was an office manager for the Criminal Non-Support Division of the 15th Judicial District Attorney’s Office for the past 21 years and was a 1974 graduate of Lafayette High School. Mrs. Broussard was a parishioner of St. Peters Catholic Church and an active member of the Lafayette Women Ultreya Cursillo.
Survivors include her husband, Jack R. “Jackie” Broussard Jr. of Carencro; two daughters, Natalie Kate Broussard and Allison Claire Broussard, both of Carencro; four brothers, Charles Dell “Chuck” Hebert of Birmingham, Ala., David Wayne Hebert of Lafayette, Dell John “Jay” Hebert III of Carencro and Christopher Clay Hebert of Connecticut; and two sisters, Annette Marie Chumchal of Houston and Ellen Frances Wallace of Lafayette.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dell John Hebert Jr. and Alma Clay Hebert.
A rosary was recited by Rev. Gregory Downs and Denise Faugot at 7 p.m. Tuesday and a Cursillo Rosary will be recited at 10 a.m. today at the funeral home.
The family request that visiting hours be observed 8 a.m. today until the time of services.
Donations may be made to American Cancer Society, 1030 E. St. Mary Blvd., Lafayette, La. 70503.
Pallbearers will be Charles Hebert, David Hebert, Dell Hebert III, Christopher Hebert, Thomas Broussard and Terry Broussard.
Honorary pallbearers will be Marc Barras and Jack Broussard Sr.

Clem C. Curtis
BROUSSARD - Services for Clem Crespin Curtis, 88, will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday at David Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ralph Ford officiating. Entombment will be in the Memorial Park Mausoleum in New Iberia.
Visitation will be from 4:30-9 p.m. today at the funeral home, which will reopen at 8 a.m. Thursday.
A native of New Iberia and resident of Lafayette, Mr. Curtis died at 2 a.m. Tuesday, May 12, 1998, at Cornerstone Village South.
He was a former resident of New Orleans and a grocer.
Mr. Curtis is survived by one daughter, Jeanne Curtis Boniol of Lafayette; one son-in-law, Darryl Boniol of Lafayette; one brother, Robert H. Curtis of New Iberia; one sister, Monnie C. Rizzuto of New Iberia; two grandsons, Bart Boniol of Nashville and Mark Boniol of New Orleans; two granddaughters, Jill C. Boniol of Monterey, Calif., and Penny B. Scallan of New Orleans; one grandson-in-law, Roy Scallan of New Orleans; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Iris H. Curtis; his parents, John Curtis Sr. and Lillian Barthe Curtis; four brothers, James V. Curtis, Leon G. Curtis, Carroll Curtis Sr. and John Curtis Jr.; and two sisters, Meada C. Black and Beatrice C. Broussard.

Lashon-Lashay C. Johnson
Services for Lashon-Lashay Charles Johnson , 3, will begin at 8 p.m. today at West End Bible Way Church with the Rev. Francis Davis officiating. interment will be in the St. Matthew Cemetery
at 10 a.m. Friday.
Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. today at the church, which will reopen at 7:30 a.m. Friday.
A native and resident of New Iberia, Lashon died at 4:30 p.m. Friday, May 8, 1998, in an auto accident.
He is survived by his father, Lashon Charles Johnson of Franklin; his stepfather, Ricky Latigue; his mother, Crystal Jones of New Iberia; three brothers, Quin’C’ Allen Jones and Ricky J. Latigue Jr., both of New Iberia and Lashon Johnson Jr. of Franklin; two sisters, Shanell-Monise Jones of New Iberia and Jada Johnson of Franklin.
Lashon was preceded in death by his maternal great-grandmother, Melba Simpson; his maternal grandfather, Edmond Boloney; his paternal grandmother, Moise Thomas; his paternal great grandparents, Roy Thomas, Rose Johnson , James Johnson and Leroy Boytkins.
Pallbearers will be Alfonzo Grace, Lawerence Johnson , Larry Delahoussaye and Joshua Smith.
Honorary pallbearers will be Alaric Jones, Leroy Simpson and Michael Jackson Darion.

Anisa K. Jones
Services for Anisa Kenyatta Jones, 19, will begin at 8 p.m. today at West End Bible Way Church with the Rev. Francis Davis officiating.
Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. today at the church, which will reopen at 7:30 a.m. Friday.
A native and resident of New Iberia, Miss Jones died at 4:30 p.m. Friday May, 8, 1998, in an auto accident.
She is survived by her parents, Junius Clay and Carolyn B. Jones of New Iberia; four brothers, Terrance Jones, Junius Jones, Anthony Jones and Jason Jones, all of New Iberia; and four sisters, Tammy Kaye Broussard, Crystal Jones, Erickia Jones and Anita Jones, all of New Iberia.
Miss Jones was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Edmond Boloney and Melba Simpson.

Oscar Reeves
CAMP PEARL - Services for Oscar Reeves, 68, will begin at 2 p.m. Friday at Creel Memorial Chapel with the Revs. John Andrews, Byron Williams, Lewis Hicks and Glenn Durcharme officiating. interment will be in the Creel Cemetery
in Bell.
Visitation will be from 1-10 p.m. today at the Creel Memorial Chapel, which will reopen at 8 a.m. Friday.
A native of Reeves and resident of Ragley, Mr. Reeves died at 12:25 a.m. Wednesday, May 13, 1998, in a local hospital.
He was a member of the Faith Baptist Church of Ragley and the Local 953. Mr. Reeves was retired as a supervisor from F. Miller and Sons after 28 years of service.
He is survived by his wife, Willow Burnett Reeves of Ragley; two sons, Calvin Reeves of Ragley and Larry Reeves of DeRidder; three daughters, Cindy Bourque of New Iberia, Paula Billott of LeBlanc and Sharon Lynn Chaumont of Ragley; three brothers, Eugene Reeves of Dry Creek, Ray Reeves and Mancel Reeves, both of Reeves; three sisters, Pearl Airhart of Reeves, Della Mercer of Dry Creek and Bonnie Price of Broomsfield, Colo.; 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Matthew Branch Polk
LOREAUVILLE - Services for Matthew Branch Polk, 86, will begin at 7 p.m. Friday at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. Shawn P. Watson officiating. interment will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 7:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Friday at Journet and Bolden Funeral Home, and from 4-7 p.m. at the church and will resume from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday at Jeanerette Middle School.
A native of New Iberia, Mr. Polk died Saturday, May 9, 1998, at his residence.
He was a retired principal.
Mr. Polk is survived by his wife, Edith Bijou Polk; one son-in-law, Alfred DePass; one daughter, Zerita Marie Polk DePass of New Iberia; one brother-in-law, Alfred Bijou of New Orleans; one sister, Rita P. Willis; one sister-in-law, Juliette Polk of New Iberia; and one granddaughter, Alania Edith Osborne of Baton Rouge; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Rev. Branch Polk and his mother, Mary Z. Mitchell Polk.
Pallbearers will be friends and family members.

Preston J. Burke Sr.
FRANKLIN - Services for Preston Joseph “Pete” Burke Sr., 80, were held at 10 a.m. today at Ibert’s Chapel with the Rev. John officiating. interment was in the Perpetual Park Cemetery.
Mr. Burke died Wednesday May 13, 1998, at Franklin Foundation Hospital.
He was a past member of the Knights of Columbus (Franklin Council).
Mr. Burke is survived by three sons, Donald Joseph Burke of Houston, Preston Burke Jr. of Franklin and Myron Burke of Morgan City; one brother, Berlin Burke of Patterson; three sisters, Hazel Tardiff and Rita Lanclos, both of Franklin and Ruby Martin of Centerville; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Odette LaBiche Burke; his parents, Joseph Burke and Lydia Pichoff Burke; two brothers, Dewey Burke Sr. and Francis C. Burke; and one sister, Ruth Theriot.

Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m.-10 p.m. today with a 7 p.m. rosary at David Funeral home, which will reopen at 7 a.m. Saturday.
A native and resident of Youngsville, Mr. Thibodeaux died at 5:28 p.m. Thursday, May 14, 1998, at his residence.
