Henry L. Begnaud Sr.

SCOTT – Services for Henry Begnaud Sr., 92, were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Scott with the Rev. Gilbert Dutel officiating. Entombment was in the St. Peter & Paul Cemetery Mausoleum.

A native of Scott and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Begnaud died at 6:20 a.m. Friday, March 20, 1998, at the Magnolia Place Nursing Home.

Mr. Begnaud was a veteran of military service having served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a retired wireline specialist at Dresser Industries after 25 years. He was a member of the St. Peter & Paul Catholic Community.

He is survived by his wife, Sara Broussard Begnaud of Lafayette; one son, Henry Begnaud Jr. of Houston, Texas ; three grandchildren, Brooke Begnaud of Dallas, Texas , Chris Begnaud and Jonathan Begnaud both of Houston, Texas ; and one sister, Rita Begnaud Broussard of Abbeville.

Mr. Begnaud was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers and three sisters.

The Martin & Castille Funeral Home of Lafayette was in charge of arrangements.

Rosetta L. Jones

FOUR CORNERS - Services for Rosetta L. Jones, 54, the former Rosetta Lewis, will begin at 8 p.m. today at Israel Lite Divine Spiritual Church of Christ II. interment will be in the Sorrell Community Cemetery Saturday at 10 a.m.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at the church.

A native of Millard and resident of Jeanerette, Mrs. Jones died at 2:10 p.m. Sunday, March 15, 1998, at Franklin Foundation Hospital.

She is survived by her husband, Albert Jones of Jeanerette; one son, Wilton Jones of Four Corners; three stepsons, Albert Jones Jr. of Florida, Frederick Jones of the U.S. Navy and Mickey Gabriel of Baldwin; three daughters, Letha Ireland of Houston, Debra Coston of Four Corners and Chawana Charles of Sorrell; two stepdaughters, Vonshekia Lewis and Judy Cloe of Port Barre; two brothers, Anthony Wilson and Johnny Sutton, both of Four Corners; one sister, Sara Lee Edwards of Four Corners; seven grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her parents; one brother and two sisters.

The Jones Funeral Home of Franklin is in charge of arrangements.

Joseph D. White

ERATH - Services for Joseph Doris White , 95, will begin at 4 p.m. today at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Entombment will be in the church mausoleum.

Visitation will be at David and Broussard Funeral Home until the time of services.

A native of Chenier Au Tigre and a resident of Cow Island, Mr. White died at 2:21 p.m. Wednesday, March 18, 1998, at his residence.

The David and Broussard Funeral Home of Erath is in charge of arrangements.

Sister Mary Grace G. Remy

PONCHATOULA - Services for Sister Mary Grace Remy, 83, the former Grace Gautreau, were held Monday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Richard Archer officiating. Graveside services were held by Rev. Robustiano Morgia of St. Agnes Church with interment in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Jefferson .

A native of New Iberia, former resident of Jefferson and resident of New Orleans since 1932, Mrs. Remy died at 11:35 a.m. Saturday, March 14, 1998, at her daughter's residence in Hammond.

She was a parishioner of St. Agnes Catholic Church. Grace took the name of Sister Mary Grace in the Service of the Blessed Virgin Mary in 1980. She visited old folks homes and hospitals, gave out Rosaries and Scapulars and saw that the general Catholic needs of the patrons were taken care of.

Sister Mary Grace is survived by one daughter, Wylene Remy Knight of Hammond; two brothers, Roy Gautreau and Floyd Gautreau, both of New Iberia; four sisters, Loudella G. Migues and Nettie G. Larson, both of New Iberia, Effie G. Hayes of Lake Charles and Susie G. Colley of Dallas; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Roy "Black" Remy; one son, Gehrig Joseph Remy; her parents, Anthony and Effie Deslatte Gautreau; and one sister, Betty G. Schwin.

The Henry McKneely and Sons Funeral Home of Ponchatoula was in charge of arrangements.

Rosetta L. Jones

Lully J. Dore

ST. MARTINVILLE - Services for Lully Jospeh Dore, 77, will begin at 3 p.m. Friday at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church. Entombment will be in the St. Michael Mausoleum.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m.-10 p.m. today with a 7 p.m. rosary at Pellerin Funeral Home, which will reopen at 8 a.m. Friday.

A resident of St. Martinville, Mr. Dore died Wednesday, March 18, 1998, at his residence.

He was the owner of Pop's Corner Nursery in St. Martinville.

Mr. Dore is survived by his wife, Thelma LeBlanc Dore of St. Martinville; two sons, Michael J. Dore and Thomas Dore, both of St. Martinville; three daughters, Media D. Landry of Alabaster, Ala., Rita Gail Andrews of Houston and Cynthia Crochet of Loreauville; one brother, Elmore Dore of St. Martinville; three sisters, Helen Romero, Lorena Fremin and Mathilde DeJean, all of St. Martinville; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers; three sisters; and one daughter-in-law, Lillian Broussard Dore.

The Pellerin Funeral Home of St. Martinville is in charge of arrangements.

Lazaire Robertson

ST. MARTINVILLE - Services for Lazaire "Stagg" Robertson, 89, will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at Notre Dame Catholic Church. interment will be in the St. Michael Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-10 p.m. today at Pellerin Funeral Home, which will reopen at 8 a.m. Thursday.

A resident of St. Martinville, Mr. Robertson died Sunday, March 15, 1998, at Dauterive Hospital.

The Pellerin Funeral Home of St. Martinville is in charge of arrangements.

LuBell B. Butaud

HENRY - Services for Mrs. Erwin "Butsy" Butaud Jr., 84, the former LuBell Broussard, will begin at 3 p.m. Thursday at St. John Catholic Church. interment will be in the Bancker Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2:30-10 p.m. today with a 7 p.m. rosary at David and Broussard Funeral Home, which will reopen at 8 a.m. Thursday.

A native of Henry and resident of Lafayette, Mrs. Butaud died at 3:50 a.m. Tuesday, March 17, 1998, at Maison de Lafayette.

The David and Broussard Funeral Home of Erath is in charge of arrangements.

Jeffanita D. Gobert

LAFAYETTE - Services for Jeffanita Gobert, 37, the former Jeffanita Duchane, will begin at 8 p.m. Thursday at Progressive Baptist Church with the Rev. Lloyd Joiner Jr. officiating. interment will be in the church cemetery at 10 a.m. Friday.

Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. at the church.

A native of Jeanerette and resident of Lafayette, Mrs. Gobert died at 3 a.m. Saturday, March 14, 1998.

She is survived by her husband, Roger Gobert of Lafayette; her foster parents, Mr. and Mrs. Willie Syrie of Lafayette; one son, Jermaine Duchane of Jeanerette; two daughters, Tiera Duchane and Keisha Duchane, both of Jeanerette; one brother, Willie Duchane; one foster brother; three sisters, Carolyn Jones of Jeanerette, Ella Edmond of New Iberi, and Genevieve Cross of DeRidder; two stepsisters; one foster sister; and one aunt, Shirley Wise of Jeanerette.

Mrs. Gobert was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Sereal and Lillie D. Washington ; her maternal grandparents, Benjamin and Calena Duchane; one sister, Viola Lee Duchane; and two uncles, Wilson Duchane and Rudolph Duchane.

Pallbearers will be Troy Levy, Willie Rubin, Marcus John and Bobby Duchane.

The Raphael Henry G. Mortuary of Lafayette is in charge of arrangements.

Celina R. Colomb

DELCAMBRE - Services for Mrs. Odey Colomb, 84, the former Celina Rodrigue, was held at 12 p.m today at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. interment was in the church cemetery.

Visitation was at David and Broussard Funeral Home until the time of services.

A native of Delcambre and resident of Franklin, Mrs. Colomb died at 7:42 a.m. Tuesday, March 17, 1998, at Franklin Nursing Home.

The David and Broussard Funeral Home of Erath was in charge of arrangements.
