Jack M. Marting

Services for Jack M. Marting, 90, will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mike McLaurin officiating. Entombment will be in the Holy Family Mausoleum.

Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at Evangeline Funeral Home.

A native of Vivian and resident of New Iberia , Mr. Marting died today, Friday, Feb. 20, 1998, at a New Iberia nursing home.

He was retired from Texaco as a Drilling and Production Foreman with 43 years of service. He then worked for Homco International for six years. Mr. Marting was an early pioneer in the oil drilling industry in East Texas and South Louisiana .

He is survived by one son, Jack David Marting; one daughter, Mrs. Becky M. Henson of Lafayette and her husband Otis L. Henson; one sister, Rozelle Moore of Oil City and one grandson Zachary Alan Henson of Lafayette.

Mr. Marting was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice Smith Marting; his parents, William and Jennie Bauguss Marting; three brothers, Joe Marting, Buck Marting and Dude Marting; four sisters, Edna Odell, Sally Hall, Marie Ford and Anna Mae Reeves.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation: c/o AAA Home Health, 2205 Louisiana 14, New Iberia, LA. 70560.

The Evangeline Funeral Home Inc. of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.

Elenore D. LeBlanc

JEANERETTE - Services for Mrs. Oneil LeBlanc , 91, the former Elenore Derouen, will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John The Evangelist Church with the Rev. Ed Degeyter officiating. interment will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4:30-10 p.m. today with a 7 p.m. rosary at David and Landry Funeral Home, which will reopen at 8 am. Saturday.

A native of Patoutville and resident of Jeanerette, Mrs. LeBlanc died at 9:15 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 19, 1998, at Iberia Medical Center.

She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

Mrs. LeBlanc is survived by one son, Oneil LeBlanc of Jeanerette; two daughters, Mrs. Lloyd (Josephine) Guiberteau Sr. of Jeanerette and Mrs. Charles (Rosemary) Baudry of New Iberia; one brother, August Derouen of Biloxi, Miss. ; seven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Desire Derouen and Cecilia Hebert Derouen; her husband, Oneil "Jim" LeBlanc ; five brothers, Sylvester Derouen, Leonard Derouen, Joseph Lionel Derouen, Whitney J. Derouen and L.J. Derouen; and two sisters, Marie Derouen Landry and Nora Derouen Nubill.

Pallbearers will be Lloyd Guiberteau Jr., Charles Landry Jr., Joey Muffoletto III, Eddie Facheau, Barry Baudry and Chad Baudry.

Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Baudry Sr., Charles Landry Sr., Lloyd Guiberteau Sr., Joey Muffoletto Jr. and Kenny Maggard Sr.

The David and Landry Funeral Home of Jeanerette is in charge of arrangements.

William C. Audibert

Services for William "Douney" C. Audibert , 81, will begin at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Evangeline Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charles Thevis, Pastor of St. Joseph's Catholic Church officiating. interment will be in the St. Peter's Cemetery with military graveside services conducted by V.F.W. Post No. 1982 Honor Guard of New Iberia.

Visitation will be from 5:30-8:30 p.m. today with a 7 p.m. rosary at the funeral home, which will reopen at 8 a.m. Saturday with a VFW ritual at 12:15 p.m.

A native and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Audibert died at 6:45 a.m. today, Feb. 20, 1998, at a New Iberia nursing home.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in World War II. Mr. Audibert served in Normandy and North France and was a prisoner of war in Germany. He received the Purple Heart and the Good Conduct Medal. He was a salesman for Jax Beer Co. for more than 30 years and then worked at the Iberia Parish Courthouse in maintenance.

Mr. Audibert is survived by one sister, "Lou" Audibert of New Iberia; two nieces and numerous great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fernand and Olanda Etie Audibert; two brothers, Bertrand Audibert and Wilson Audibert; and one nephew.

The Evangeline Funeral Home Inc. of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.

Lucille H. Willis

LOREAUVILLE - Services for Mrs. Lloyd P. Willis Sr., 72, the former Lucille Honore, will begin at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 23, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, with the Rev. John Vianney Choorackunnel, CMI offici-ating. interment will be in the All Saints Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-10 p.m. Sunday at the Journet and Bolden Funeral Home Chapel under the direction of Fletcher Funeral Home, with a 7 p.m. rosary recited in the funeral home chapel, which will reopen at 7 a.m. Monday until the motorcade travels to Loreauville at 10:30 a.m.

Mrs. Willis died at 9:20 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 19, 1998, at the Iberia Medical Center following a lengthy illness. She was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, where she served as a member of the Altar Society. She was also a member of the Silver Nite Civic and Social Club and the Star Union Benevolent Society.

She is survived by three sons, Pius C. Willis Sr. of New Iberia, Patrick J. Willis Sr. of Loreauville and Lloyd P. Willis Jr. of Lafayette, four daughters, Barbara W. Pierre and Mrs. Curlis (Eva) W. Vital, both of Loreauville, Mrs. Paul (Debra) W. Knatt Sr. of New Iberia and Mrs. Junius (Marion) W. Porter of Texas City, four sisters, Antwoinette Johnny and Margaret Francis, both of Loreauville, Henrietta Guerin of New Orleans, and Gertrude Frelot of Port Arthur, 18 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gunner Honore Sr. and Eva Louis Honore, her husband, Lloyd P. Willis Sr., two grandsons, Paul Knatt Jr. and Dwight Vital, two brothers, Albert Honore and Gunner Honore Jr. , and three sisters, Francis Honore, Lydia Castillo, and Bartholomew (Bert) Wineburg.

Pallbearers are Patrick J. Willis Sr., Pius C. Willis Sr., Patrick J. Willis Jr., Pius C. Willis Jr., Corey J. Porter and Peyton E. Knatt.

Honorary pallbearers are Lloyd P. Willis Jr., Albert Pierre, Wilbert Joe, Junius Porter, Curlis Vital, Paul E. Knatt Sr. and Donald Turner.

The Fletcher Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.

W.K. "Bill" Freese

JEFFERSON, Texas - Services for W.K. "Bill" Freese, 87, will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Haggard Heaster Chapel with the Rev. Johnny Joiner officiating. interment will be in the New Prospect Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6:30-8 p.m today at the funeral home.

A resident of Marion County, Texas , Mr. Freese died Friday, Feb. 20, 1998, at his residence.

He was a member of Hall Baptist Church, a U.S. Army veteran, a cattle rancher, a farmer and served as Marion County constable for 33 years.

Mr. Freese is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law. Robert Bruce and Gail Freese of New Iberia and Jerry William and Sandy Freese of Fallbrook, Calif.; one daughter and son-in-law, Judith Ann and Roy W. Harrell of Marshall, Texas ; two sisters, Velma Windsor and Elizabeth Killingsworth, both of Burnett, Texas ; two grandsons, Denis W. Harrell and Billy W. Harrell; eight granddaughters, Angela Bonin, Tammy McCoy, Ellen Walton, Caye Robichaux, Shellie Messick, Lisa Carter, Lauren Freese and Stephanie Badeaux; and 16 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents. Hardy Lincoln and Willie Mae Webb Freese.

Pallbearers will be Sonny Carter, Eugene Tefteller, Lance Scudday, John Reeves, Ed Joseph and James Benefield.

Honorary pallbearers will be Alphonse Smith and Dr. Jesse DeWare.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Longview or to Hall Baptist Church.

Exa P. Viator

Services for Mrs. Milton Viator, 85, the former Exa Peltier, will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday at David and Jacquemoud Funeral Home with the Deacon Ronald Borel officiating.

Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday until the time of service.

A native of St. Martin Parish and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Viator died at 9 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24, 1998, at Iberia Medical Center.

She was a resident of Azalea Villa Nursing Home.

Mrs. Viator is survived by her stepson, Dwight Viator of Lydia; one stepdaughter, Janice Viator LeBlanc of New Iberia; one sister, Mrs. Henry (Nora) Fabre of Youngsville; seven step-grandchildren; eight step great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Milton Viator, her parents, Walter and Alda Thibodeaux, five brothers, Irby Peltier, Jesse Peltier, Lester Peltier, Morris Peltier and Roy Peltier; and one sister, Ouida Peltier Menard.

The David and Jacquemoud Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.

Clarence P. Romero

Services for Clarence P. Romero, 77, will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church with the Rev. Albert Boumans officiating. interment will be in the St. Peters Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-10 p.m. today with a 7 p.m. rosary at Evangeline Funeral Home, which will reopen at 8 a.m. Tuesday until the time of services.

A native and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Romero died at 6:37 a.m. Sunday, March 1, 1998, at his residence.

He is survived by his wife, Gussie S. DeJean Romero, of New Iberia; two sons, Kurt A. Romero and Clark T. Romero, both of New Iberia; four daughters, Mrs. Daniel (Claire) Duplichien of Biloxi, Miss., Mrs. Frank (Patricia) Kidd Jr. of New Iberia; Mrs. Jimmy (Cecile) Trahan and Mrs. Toby (Myra) Champagne, both of Lafayette; three brothers, Hamilton Romero, Henry Romero and Wilfred "Doc" Romero, all of New Iberia; two sisters, Mrs. Jacob (Mary) Miller II and Mrs. Frank (Edna) Schwab, both of New Iberia; and 14 grandchildren.

Mr. Romero was preceded in death by his first wife, Gertrude Resweber Romero; his parents, Alcee and Artemese Segura Romero; one granddaughter, Michelle Duplichien; and two brothers, Alcee Romero Jr. and Alphe Romero.

Pallbearers will be Joseph Kidd, Scott Kidd, Nicholas Romero, Dominic Duplichien, Clark Duplichien and Bartholomew Romero.
