Westley W. Derouen

Services for Westley Wilbur Derouen, 80, will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Edwards Catholic Church with the Rev. Eric Groner officiating. interment will be in the St. Edwards Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 7-11 a.m. Thursday with a 10 a.m. rosary at David and Jacquemoud Funeral Home.

A native of Delcambre and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Derouen died at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 19, 1998, at Dauterive Hospital. He was a maintenance worker at Morton Salt.

Mr. Derouen is survived by his wife, Georgiana Henry Derouen of McKinney, Texas ; two sons, Wilbert Derouen of Temple Hill, Md. and Willard D. Derouen of Olympia, Wash.; one daughter, George Faye Coss of Longview, Texas ; three sisters, Mildred Falls and Alice Mae Harding, both of Houston and Eunice Blaze of New Iberia; one niece, Gladys Blaze of New Iberia, who faithfully took care of him over the past 15 years; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Author Derouen; his mother, Rose Labbe Derouen; three brothers, Authur Derouen, James Derouen and Terry Derouen; and one sister, Mary Ella Francis.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Honorary pallbearers will be Joseph Blaze, Edward Blaze and Willard D. Derouen.

The David and Jacquemoud Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.

Reed J. Clement

JEANERETTE - Services for Reed Joseph Clement, 18, were held at 11 a.m. today at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with the Rev. Ed Degeyter officiating. Entombment was in the church mausoleum.

A native and resident of Jeanerette, Mr. Clement died at 9:25 p.m. Monday, Feb. 23, 1998, as a result of an auto accident.

He was a technician for Kous Co. Environmental Service.

Mr. Clement is survived by his parents, David Clement Sr. and Jean Trimble Clement of Jeanerette; one brother, David Clement Jr. of Jeanerette; one sister, Anita Andre Labiche of Jeanerette; his paternal grandparents, Harry "Bun" Clement and Myrtle Toups Clement of Jeanerette; and his maternal grandparents, Able Trimble and Patricia Trimble of Jeanerette.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Jason Clement.

Pallbearers were P.J. Freeman, Jake Bergeron, Wade Estes, Rogers Grant, Mike Schexnayder and Eric Trimble.

Honorary pallbearers were Mike Barras and Adam Trimble.

The David and Landry Funeral Home of Jeanerette was in charge of arrangements.

Yvette H. Boutte

Services for Mrs. Terry Boutte, 54, the former Yvette Harris, will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church with the Rev. Steven LeBlanc officiating. interment will be in the Sallier Cemetery in Lake Charles.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. today with a 7 p.m. rosary at David Funeral Home, which will reopen at 8 a.m. Thursday.

A Native of Lake Charles and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Boutte died at 10:35 p.m. Monday, Feb. 23, 1998, at her residence.

She was a real estate agent for Saturn Realty, a member of Piecemakers Quilting Group, Town and Country Homemakers, a founding member and past president of the Quilt Guild of Acadienne in Lafayette, a member of Gulf States Quilt Association, the New Iberia Board of Realtors and the chairman of Sugar Cane Festival Quilt Show for four years.

Mrs. Boutte is survived by her husband, Terry Boutte of New Iberia; her mother, Yvonne Granger Staples of Lake Charles; one son, Richard Todd Boutte of Dallas; one daughter, Dana Boutte Cross of Jonesboro, Ark.; three sisters, Janet Stone of Oklahoma , Annette LaBrun of Sulphur and Carolyn Staples of Lake Charles; and two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, Jack Harris.

Pallbearers will be friends and family members.

The David Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.

Deola L. Mitchell

FREETOWN - Services for Deola L. Mitchell, 68, the former Deola Livingston, will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday at Mount Olive Baptist Church No. 1 with the Rev. Henry L. Maze officiating. interment will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-10 p.m. today with a wake service to begin at 8 p.m. at Fletcher Funeral Home Chapel, which will reopen from 7-10:30 a.m. Thursday and resume at the church at 11 a.m.

A native of New Iberia, Mrs. Mitchell died at 9 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, 1998, at Lafayette General Medical Center following a lengthy illness.

She was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church No. 1 in Freetown, a member of the Mary B. Amos Retired Teacher's Association and a member of the state and national Retired Teacher's Association.

Mrs. Mitchell is survived by her husband, Allen Mitchell of New Iberia; one daughter, Deidra V. Crofton of New Iberia; one son-in-law, Minister Carroll Ray Crofton of New Iberia; one brother, Wesley L. Livingston of Elton; three sisters, Susanna Livingston of New Iberia, Earline L. Charles and Laura L. Charles, both of Roanoke; two grandchildren, Brandon J. Farrior and Cardecia R. Crofton, both of New Iberia; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Livingston and Madeline Simon Livingston; five brothers, Watkins Livingston, Wilfoot Livingston, Willie D. Livingston, Wilton Livingston Sr. and Warren Livingston Sr.; and four sisters, Elnora Livingston, Eldora L. Esco, Arsain L. Polk and Rosa L. Lockett.

Pallbearers will be Elton "Bruce" Broussard, Jake Durall III, Levy Collins, Kermit Taylor , Neville Syrie Jr., Lionell Collins and Dr. Earl Washington Jr.

Honorary pallbearers will be Deacons of Mount Olive Baptist Church No. 1.

The Fletcher Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.

Laura T. Talley

ST. MARTINVILLE - Services for Mrs. Clovis Talley, 80, the former Laura Thibodeaux, will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church with the Rev. Austin Leger officiating. interment will be in the Methodist Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday with a 7 p.m. rosary at the Evangeline Funeral Home, which will remain open all night.

A native of Breaux Bridge and resident of St. Martinville, Mrs. Talley died at 5:55 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24, 1998, at her residence.

She was a member of St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church. She was the best mother anyone could ever have.

Mrs. Talley is survived by her husband, Clovis Talley of St. Martinville; three sons, Gerald Talley, David Talley and Ted Talley, all of St. Martinville; five daughters, Joan T. Courville of Youngsville, Jackie Broussard of Parks, Diana Dugan, Pat Broussard and Vickie Jernigan, all of St. Martinville; two brothers, Simon Thibodeaux of St. Martinville and Roy Thibodeaux of Loreauville; three sisters, Clayda Guidry of St. Martinville, Lidia Broggi of Loreauville and Annie Guidry of Picayune, Miss.; 26 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sylveste and Antoinette Cormier Thibodeaux; one son, Louis M. Talley; one brother, Kaleb Thibodeaux; four sisters, Lilia Comb, Louise Bergeron, Marie Castille and Hilda Skelton; one granddaughter, Jeanine Denise Broussard; and one grandson, Al Talley.

Pallbearers will be Ted Talley, John "Chuppy" Broussard Jr., Clint Dugan, Tod Talley, Tony Broussard and Shane Picard.

Honorary pallbearers will be Gerald Talley, David Talley and Gary Talley.

The Evangeline Funeral Home of St. Martinville is in charge of arrangements.

Robert J. Gajan

Memorial services for Robert "Bobby" Joseph Gajan, 49, will begin at 7 p.m. Thursday at Evangeline Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bill Rogalla officiating. interment will be in the St. Peter's Cemetery at a later date.

Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. Thursday with a 7 p.m. rosary at the funeral home.

A native and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Gajan died at 8:20 p.m. Monday, Feb. 23, 1998, at a New Iberia nursing home.

He graduated from Catholic High in 1966, and then received a bachelor's degree in business management from USL in 1969. Mr. Gajan was vice president at Trappey's for 22 years. He was a member of the Woodmen of the World and a past member of the Lions Club.

Mr. Gajan is survived by his mother, Madeleine Bach Gajan Labauve of New Iberia; one son, Paul Joseph Gajan and his wife, Libby Anderson Gajan of New Iberia; one daughter, Kimberly Elizabeth Gajan of Houston; and three grandchildren, Justin Gajan, Tyler Gajan and Ryan Gajan, all of New Iberia.

He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Errol Gajan; one daughter Jennifer Theresa Gajan; and his stepfather, Clegg Labauve.

The Evangeline Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.

Exa P. Viator

Services for Mrs. Milton Viator, 85, the former Exa Peltier, will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday at David and Jacqumoud Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

A native of St. Martin Parish and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Viator died at 9 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24, 1998, at Iberia Medical Center.

The David and Jacquemoud Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.

Lelia B. Breaux

YOUNGSVILLE - Services for Mrs. Nicholas Breaux, 96, the former Lelia Baudoin, will begin at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Anne Catholic Church. Entombment will be in the church mausoleum.

Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m.-10 p.m. today with a 7 p.m. rosary at David Funeral Home in Broussard, which will reopen at 8 a.m. Friday.

A native and resident of Youngsville, Mrs. Breaux died at 5:15 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, 1998, at her residence.

The David Funeral Home of Broussard is in charge of arrangements.
