Rebecca B. Moore
VIVIAN - Services for Rebecca B. Moore, 91, were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at McGuire Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jack Fugsell officiating. interment was in the Evans-Richie Memorial Gardens.
A resident of Vivian, Mrs. Moore died March 9, 1998, at Willis Knighton Medical Center in Shreveport after a brief illness.
She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Vivian where she was very active and a member of the Caddo Council on Aging.
Mrs. Moore is survived by her husband, Tom B. Moore of Vivian; one daughter and son-in-law, Dorothy and Lee Ford of Woodville, Texas ; three grandsons and their wives, Tom and Sandy Ford, Jerry and Beth Ford and Bob and Marcia Ford, one brother and sister-in-law, Leonard and Grace Beene of Atlanta, Texas ; one sister-in-law, Dollie Beene of Oil City; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews that were like her own children.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Louie Jane Beene; six brothers.; and four sisters.
Pallbearers were the youth from First Assembly of God.
She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.

Leola Joe
JEANERETTE - Services for Leola "Lisa" Joe, 62, the former Leola Jenkins, will begin at 1 p.m. Friday at Morning Pilgrim Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles Moncriffe officiating. interment will be in the St. Matthews Cemetery
in Patoutville.Visitation will be from 8-10 p.m. Thursday at the church, which will reopen at 8 a.m. Friday.
A native of Patoutville and resident of Jeanerette for 42 years, Mrs. Joe died at 11:11 p.m. Friday, Feb. 6, 1998, at Iberia Medical Center following a brief illness.
She is survived by by her husband, Willie Joe Jr. of Jeanerette; three sons, Jackie Robertson of Dequincy, Mark Jenkins of Franklin, and Brian Jenkins of Loreauville; a dear nephew, Spencer Robertson; five daughters, Doris Charles, Jeannie Colbert, Cora Clay and Kisha Joe, all of Jeanerette, and Cheryl OkoBough of Dallas; two brothers, Livingston Joe Jenkins and Edward Jenkins, both of Houston; four sisters, Leanne Williams, Bessie Steels and Beverly Jenkins, all of Houston, and Phylliss Godette of Jeanerette; and 20 grandchildren.
Mrs. Joe was preceded in death by her parents, Reverta "Noon" Jenkins and Livingston "Libbie" Jenkins; one son, Lewis Joe; one grandson, Damien Rideaux; one sister, Theresa Robertson; and one niece, Diane Arthur.
Pallbearers will be Anderson Clay Jr., Lee Doucet Jr., James Colbert, Christopher Alexander, George Bob II, and Joshua Ruffin.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jackie Robertson, Mark Jenkins, Spencer Robertson and Brian Jenkins.

JEANERETTE - Services are pending for Sandias Eugene, 35, who died Tuesday, Feb. 10, 1998, at University Medical Center in Lafayette following a brief illness.

Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Journet and Bolden Funeral Home Chapel, which will reopen at 7:30 a.m. Thursday until the time of services. A native of St. Martinville and resident of Morbihan for 32 years, Mrs. Johnson died at 12:15 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 8, 1998, at a local hospital following a lengthy illness.
She is survived by her husband, Rev. Leafier Johnson of New Iberia; two sons, Gregory Johnson and Raymond Johnson , both of New Iberia; three daughters, Demetria Johnson , Natasha Johnson and Elzina Johnson , all of New Iberia; one daughter-in-law, Ella G. Johnson of New Iberia; and two grandchildren.
Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her parents, Junius Batiste and Augusta Bazile.
Pallbearers will be Brett Rhymes, Samuel Bazile Jr., Kevin Perrodin, Larry Butler Jr., Sherman Guillory and Rev. Adam Curley. Honorary pallbearers will be Peter Perrodin, Clarence Crofton, Joseph Crofton, Charles Bazile, Wilfred Bazile, Arthur James and Lawless Sparrow.

FRANKLIN - Services for Lois Smith May, 79, will begin at 11 a.m. today at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Robinson officiating. interment will be in the Franklin Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. today at the church.
A native and resident of Franklin, Mrs. May died Thursday, Feb. 5, 1998, at Corner Stone South Nursing Home in Lafayette.
Mrs. May is survived by two sons, Larry May of Lafayette and Kenneth May of Jeanerette; one daughter, Mrs. Pat Battaglia of Lafayette; two brothers, Clarence and Merrill J. Smith, both of Franklin; two sisters, Gertilee Smith Williams of Franklin and Blanche Smith Morano of Jackson , Miss.; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Mrs. May was preceded in death by her parents, James and Blanche LeBlanc Smith; and her husband, Taylor J. Smith.

YOUNGSVILLE - Services for Narcise "Jimmy" Fuselier, 82, will begin at 10:30 a.m. today at the David Funeral Home Chapel. interment will be in the St. Anne Cemetery.
Visitation was from 2:30-9 p.m. Friday with a 7 p.m. rosary at the funeral home, which will reopen at 8 a.m. today until time of services.
A native of Mowata and resident of Youngsville, Mr. Fuselier died at 9:40 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 5, 1998, at the Southwest Medical Center in Lafayette.

Frances V. Spurlock
LAFAYETTE - A memorial Mass for Mrs. Roger Spurlock, 68, the former Frances Vidrine, will begin at 10 a.m. today at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church with the Rev. Michael Arnaud officiating. Charlotte Jopling, accompanied on organ by Phyllis Simar, will sing for the Mass, "Amazing Grace," "The Prayer of St. Francis," "Ave Maria" and "When the Saints Go Marching In."
Visitation will be from 8 a.m. until time of services today.
A native of Opelousas, longtime resident of Champaign, Ill., and resident of Lafayette for the past four years, Mrs. Spurlock died at 3:55 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 5, 1998, at Lafayette General Medical Center.
She was a graduate of the Academy of the Sacred Heart in Grand Coteau and SLI (now the University of Southwestern Louisiana ). In 1965, Mrs. Spurlock earned a master's degree from LSU. She worked as a school social worker while living in Illinois.
Mrs. Spurlock was a member of the St. Leo the Great Catholic Community.
Mrs. Spurlock is survived by her husband, Roger Spurlock of Lafayette; two sisters-in-law, Delores Vidrine of Galino and Ollie Trouille Vidrine of New Iberia.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Bernard and Rhea Foreman Vidrine; and three brothers, George, Gerald and Sylvon Vidrine.

Services for Mrs. Jessie "Black" Benoit, 63, the former Joyce DeRouen, will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Peter's Catholic Church with the Rev. Charles Thevis officiating. interment will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 8:30 a.m. today with a 7 p.m. rosary at David Funeral Home, which will remain open all night.
A native and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Benoit died at 6:55 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 5, 1998, at Iberia Medical Center.
She worked at Johnson Street Elementary in the cafeteria for some years and was a homemaker.
Mrs. Benoit is survived by her husband, Jessie "Black" Benoit of New Iberia; four sons, Carl J. Bonin, Kevin L. Bonin, Michael B. Bonin and Ernest D. Bonin Jr., all of New Iberia; two daughters, Pamela Renee Bonin and Deborah B. Romero, both of New Iberia; six sisters, May Etta Benoit, Mrs. Paul (Carolyn) Comeaux, Mrs. Wilbert (Rose) Dore, Mrs. Roy (Jackie) LeBlanc and Clay Lee Pellerin, all of New Iberia and Mrs. Ray (Millie) Rodrigue of Coteau Holmes; her stepfather, Allen Benoit of Catahoula; and eight grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Lawrence DeRouen; her mother, Lela Romero DeRouen; her first husband, Ernest Bonin Sr.; two brothers, Elray DeRouen and Herman DeRouen; and two sisters, Mrs. Louis (Antonia) Charpentier and Mrs. Fred (Lorraine) Romero.
Pallbearers will be Ernest D. Bonin Jr., Nathan Buratt, Kyle Romero, Carl J. Bonin, Kevin L. Bonin and Michael B. Bonin.
Honorary pallbearer will be Donnie DeRouen.

A native of St. Martinville and resident of Jeanerette, Mrs. Berthelot died at 5 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 5, 1998, at her residence.
She was a housewife.
Mrs. Berthelot is survived by her husband, Alcide Berthelot Sr. of Jeanerette; two sons, Wayde Berthelot and Alcide Berthelot Jr., both of Jeanerette; one daughter, Pat B. Guidry of New Iberia; two brothers, Merlin Wiltz and Wilfred "Billy" Wiltz, both of St. Martinville; two sisters, Mrs. Andrew (Sara) Benoit of Lafayette and Mrs. Ferdinand (Elizabeth) Perodin of St. Martinville; and 10 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Adam Wiltz and Lena LaSalle Wiltz.
