L.R. Pesson

BATON ROUGE - A Mass of Christian burial for L.R. "Roy" Pesson, 65, will begin at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church with the Rev. Vick Messina officiating and Pesson's eldest grandson, Robert Johnston, assisting as altar server. Entombment will be in the Greenoaks Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1:10 p.m. Monday at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East.

A native of New Iberia and resident of Baton Rouge, Mr. Pesson died Saturday, Feb. 7, 1998, in Baton Rouge.

He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and a pioneer in self-service gasoline. Mr. Pesson was a longtime Louisiana Legislature lobbyist. He was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church.

Mr. Pesson is survived by his wife, Audrey Diez Pesson of Baton Rouge; two daughters, Cidney Renee' Stephens of Baton Rouge and DeJeanne "Dee" Keller of Houston; two sons, Bradley W. Pesson and Scott G. Pesson, both of Houston; one sister, Lucille Pesson Landry, and eight grandchildren.

Mr. Pesson was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and a brother.

Pallbearers will be Steve Keller, Michael Prejean, Don Leo Terrell, Russell Lieux, Rixby Broussard and Michael Blouin.

The Rabenhorst Funeral Home of Baton Rouge is in charge of arrangements.

June Guyote

JEANERETTE - Services for Mrs. Sterling Guyote, 81, the former June Chauvin, will begin at 3:30 p.m. Monday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Deacon Theo Landry officiating. interment will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-10 p.m. today, with a 7 p.m. rosary at the David & Landry Funeral Home of Jeanerette, which will reopen Monday at 9 a.m. until time of services.

A native of St. Mary Parish and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Guyote died at 2:55 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, 1998, at Iberia Medical Center.

She was a housewife.

Mrs. Guyote is survived by four sons, Clyde Guyote of New Iberia, Errol Guyote of Broussard, Huey Guyote of Jeanerette and Stuart Guyote of Bridge City, Texas ; two daughters, Mrs. Carrol (Peggy) Guyote Lancon of Baldwin and Mrs. John (Corliss) Guyote Ramirez of New Iberia; two brothers, Homer Chauvin of Tampa, Fla., and Norris Chauvin of Texas ; three sisters, Louise Dantin of Franklin, Dora Mae Shelton of New Iberia and Dorothy Sissac of Vidor, Texas ; 24 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Guyote was preceded in death by her husband, Sterling Guyote; her parents, Wilsie and Cecile Ayo Chauvin Sr.; one son, Lawrence Guyote; two brothers, Thomas Chauvin and Wilsie Chauvin Jr.; and three sisters, Louella Choate, Elnora Mayea and Shirley Thibodeaux.

Pallbearers will be Mitchell Ramirez, Darryl Guyote, Edwin Guyote, Sterling Guyote, Trent Guyote and Bennett Lancon.

Honorary pallbearers will be Eric Guyote, Stacy Guyote, Todd Guyote and John Ramirez.

The David & Landry Funeral Home of Jeanerette is in charge of arrangements.

Robin Plowden

MOUTON COVE - Services for Robin Plowden, 41, will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday at Briggs United Methodist Church with the Rev. Percell Church officiating. interment will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 8 a.m.-10 a.m. Thursday at the church.

A resident of Abbeville, Mr. Plowden died Friday, Feb. 6, 1998, at Lafayette Medical Center following a brief illness.

He is survived by his wife, Lula Plowden of Abbeville; one stepson, Elijah Plowden of Abbeville; one daughter, Angelica Plowden of Abbeville; one stepdaughter, Brandy Bourque of Abbeville; one brother, Lennis Plowden Jr. of Abbeville; and two sisters, Tammy Levine and Nolia Plowden, both of Abbeville. Mr. Plowden was preceded in death by his parents, Lennis Plowden Sr. and Theola Levy Plowden Plummer.

Pallbearers will be members of the immediate family.

The Fletcher Funeral Home of Abbeville is in charge of arrangements.

Earl J. Dore

DELCAMBRE - Services for Earl John Dore, 67, will begin at 1 p.m. Friday at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with the Rev. Thomas Voorhies officiating. Entombment will be in the church mausoleum.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Thursday with a 7:30 p.m. rosary at the Evangeline Funeral Home, which will reopen at 8 a.m. Friday until the time of services.A native of Jefferson Island and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Dore died at 4:30 a.m. today, Wednesday, Feb. 11, 1998, at his residence in New Iberia.

He was a retired employee of Dowell Chemical Co. (now Dowell-Schlumberger) and Holsom Bakery and was a U.S. Army veteran stationed in Fort Louis, Wash., from 1952-1954. Mr. Dore was born in Jefferson Island and lived in Vidalia until his retirement when he then made his home in New Iberia.

He is survived by his wife, Eastlynne Laviolette Dore of New Iberia; three sons, Guy Francis Dore of Ferriday, John Earl Dore of Natchez, Miss., and Tab Anthony Dore of Vidalia; two daughters, Paulette Dore Pyron and Susan Dore Crofford, both of Vidalia; three stepsons, Francis Delahoussaye of Delcambre, Allison Delahoussaye and Chad Duplantis, both of New Iberia; one stepdaughter, Monette Delahoussaye Hoffpauir of New Iberia; two brothers, Leroy Dore of Delcambre and Autry Dore of New Orleans; two sisters, Faye Dore Placek Howard of Delcambre and Louise Dore Hebert of Erath; eight grandchildren; 13 step grandchildren; and two step great-grandchildren.

Mr. Dore was preceded in death by his parents, Harrison and Anna Armentor Dore; one brother, Wilmer Dore; and a nephew, Lynn Dore.

Pallbearers will be Christopher Hebert, Michael Placek, Derrell Dore, Darrell Crofford, Blair Pyron and Lance Hoffpauir.

The Evangeline Funeral Home of Delcambre is in charge of arrangements.

Olga J. Boudreaux

LOREAUVILLE – Services for Mrs. Ellis J. Boudreaux, 80, the former Olga "Belle" Judice, will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday at Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church with the Rev. Charles Thevis officiating. interment will be in the St. Michaels Cemetery in St. Martinville.

Visitation will be from 4:30-10 p.m. today with a 7 p.m. rosary at David Funeral Home, which will reopen at 8 a.m. Thursday until the time of services.

A native of Loreauville and resident of Iberia Parish, Mrs. Boudreaux died at 6:10 p.m. Tuesday March 10, 1998, at her daughter’s residence in Iberia Parish.

She is survived by one son, Kernie Boudreaux of New Iberia; one daughter, Mrs. Edward (Loretta) Landry of Iberia Parish; one grandson, Mark Landry of Iberia Parish; two granddaughters, Mrs. Johnny (Vicky) Bonin and Mrs. Don (Donna) Primeaux, both of Iberia Parish; and five great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Boudreaux was preceded in death by her husband, Ellis J. Boudreaux; and her parents, Clovis and Edmee Boutte Judice.

Pallbearers will be Kernie Boudreaux, Edward Landry, Mark Landry, Don Primeaux, Gene Vincent and Johnny Bonin.

The David Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.

Gertrude O. Boutte

LYDIA - Services for Gertrude Boutte, 78, will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Nicholas Catholic Church with the Rev. John Choorackunnel officiating. Entombment will be in the church mausoleum.

Visitation will be from 8-11 a.m. Wednesday with a 9 a.m. rosary, at the church.

A native and resident of Jeanerette, Mrs. Boutte died at 10:52 a.m. Monday, March 9, 1998, at Iberia Medical Center.

She was a member of the Holy Name Society.

Mrs. Boutte is survived by four sons, Lonnie Boutte of Scottsdale, Ariz., Paul Raymond Boutte of Houston, Randy Boutte of Fountain Valley, Calif., and James Boutte Sr. of Grand Marais; one daughter, Gloria Boudreaux of Grand Marais; one brother, Earl Olivier of Grand Marais; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul W. Boutte; her parents, Albert and Aurelia Sigue Olivier; four brothers, Clarence Olivier, Norman Olivier, Richard Olivier and Wilfred Olivier; and four sisters, Inez Domingo, Leona Ledet, Clara Olivier and Cora Olivier.

Pallbearers will be Paul Raymond Boutte Jr., Kasey Boutte, Michael Boutte, James Boutte Jr., Jason Olivier and Troy Olivier.

Honorary pallbearers will be Lester Boutte, Lonnie Boutte, Louis Boutte, Paul Raymond Boutte, Randy Boutte, James Boutte Sr., Earl Olivier and Joseph Olivier.

The David and Jacquemoud Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.

Gladys B. Romero

Services for Mrs. Fernest J. Romero, 67, the former Gladys Blanchard, will begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church with the Rev. Michael Guidry officiating. interment will be in the Holy Family Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. -10 p.m. today with an 8 p.m. rosary at David Funeral Home, which will reopen at 8 a.m. Wednesday.

A native of Scott and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Romero died at 10:40 a.m. Monday, March 9, 1998, at her daughter’s residence in Lafayette.

She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Romero is survived by one son, Rene J. Romero Sr. of New Iberia; two daughters, Mrs. Elverse (Charmaine) Babineaux of New Iberia and Mrs. Bob (Susanna) Breaux of Lafayette; one sister, Rosa Mae Blanchard of New Orleans; two grandsons, Lewis "Bo" Romero and Rene Romero Jr., both of New Iberia; two step grandsons, Joey Scott Breaux of Lafayette and Mark Anthony Breaux of Breaux Bridge; one granddaughter, Dodie Lynn Breaux of Lafayette; and two step great-grandsons, Christopher Breaux of Lafayette and Seth Breaux of Breaux Bridge.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fernest J. Romero; her parents, Parfait and Edolia Trahan Blanchard; one brother, Isaac Blanchard; three sisters, Anna Mae Blanchard, Fadra Blanchard and Ouida Blanchard.

The David Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.

Alcibiade W. Broussard

ERATH - Services for Alcibiade "Bruce" Wilfred Broussard, 55, will begin at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. interment will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m.-10 p.m. today with a 7 p.m. rosary at David and Broussard Funeral Home, which will reopen at 8 a.m. Wednesday.

A native of Abbeville and resident of Erath, Mr. Broussard died at 11:40 a.m. Monday, March 9, 1998, at Lafayette General Medical Center.
