Elder B. Lewis

Services for Elder "Aunt T" Lewis, 81, the former Elder Bastain, will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Edward Catholic Church. interment will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will from 4-9 p.m. today with a 7 p.m. rosary at Journet and Bolden Funeral Home Chapel, which will reopen at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday until the time of services.

A native of Loreauville and resident of New Iberia for 55 years, Mrs. Lewis died at 1:50 p.m. Friday, Jan. 9, 1998, at Dauterive Hospital.

She was a member of Knights of Peter Claver Ladies Auxiliary Court No. 63 and a member of other civic and social organizations.

Mrs. Lewis was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbert Lewis; her father, Paul Bastain; her mother, Orelia DeBlanc; two brothers, Edwin Bastain and Elmer Bastain; and six sisters, Martha Lewis, Piola Sias, Eula Bourda, Constance Gardner, Bertha James and Leona Bastain.

Pallbearers will be members of the immediate family.

The Journet and Bolden Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.

Imogene Moore

FRANKLIN - Services for Imogene "Jean" Moore, 60, were held at 1 p.m. today at First Pentecostal Church with the Rev. Purifoy officiating. interment was in the Perpetual Park Cemetery.

A resident of Franklin, Mrs. Moore died Saturday, Jan. 10, 1998, at her residence.

She is survived by her husband, Glendon Moore of Franklin; two sons, Glendon Wayne Moore of Franklin and James Edward Moore of Centerville; seven daughters, Linda M. Halligan of Baltimore, Md., Sue M. Buck, Peggy M. Tabor, Judy M. Alexander and Tina M. Richard, all of Centerville; Debra M. Robichaux and Tammy Moore, both of Franklin; two brothers; three sisters; 16 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by her parents; one son; and two sisters.

Ibert's Mortuary of Franklin was in charge of arrangements.

Luke L. Broussard

LYDIA - Contrary to information printed in Sunday's edition, Mr. Luke Broussard is survived by seven daughters, Mrs. Rod (Jane) Chassot of Japan; Mrs. Ted (Janet) Delahoussaye and Mrs. Gregory (Susan) Robicheaux, both of New Iberia; Mrs. Christopher (Josie) Hebert of Baytown, Texas , Mrs. Rick (Christine) Sonnier of Scott, Mrs. Freddie (Connie) Sonnier of Lafayette and Angela Broussard of Patoutville. Alberta Compton

Funeral services are pending for Alberta Compton.

A native of New Iberia and resident of Rialto, Calif., Mrs. Compton died Sunday, Jan. 11, 1998, in Rialto, following a lengthy illness.

The Fletcher Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.

IJane D. Hulin

Services for Mrs. Carvis Hulin, 65, the former IJane Derouen, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Evangeline Funeral Home Chapel with the Deacon Ken Waguespack officiating.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Tuesday with a 1 p.m. rosary at the funeral home until the time of services.

A native of Erath and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Hulin died at 12:04 p.m. Friday, Jan. 23, 1998, at a local hospital.

She is survived by her husband, Carvis Hulin of New Iberia; one son, William "Bill" Hulin and his wife, Chris Chambers Hulin of New Iberia; five daughters, Mrs. Michael (Gail) Jirak of Columbus, Ohio, Mrs. Gerald (Sally) Sullivan, Mrs. Sammy (Pip) LeBlanc and Mrs. Keith (Jeannie) Delahoussaye, all of New Iberia and Mrs. John (Jo Ann) Pomier of Lafayette; five brothers, Dewey Derouen of Erath, Harry Derouen and Dave Derouen both of New Orleans and Harold Derouen and Avery Derouen both of New Iberia; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Etienne and Rena Romero Derouen; and an infant son.

Evangeline Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.

Charles J. Theriot Sr.

ST. MARTINVILLE - Services for Charles J. Theriot Sr., 89, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church. interment will be in St. Michael Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today with a 6 p.m. rosary at Pellerin Funeral Home, which will reopen at 8 a.m. Monday until the time of services.

A resident of St. Martinville, Mr. Theriot died Saturday, Jan. 24, 1998, at Lafayette General Medical Center.

He is survived by his wife, Luna Castille Theriot of St. Martinville; two sons, Charles Theriot Jr. and his wife, Dianne of New Iberia and Ramsey Theriot and his wife, Lucille of St. Martinville; one daughter, Mrs. Alton (Barbara) Oubre of St. Martinville; one brother, Arthur "Bud" Theriot of St. Martinville; 12 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Theriot was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Theriot Sr. and Louisette Bienvenu Theriot; two brothers, Alexie Theriot and Patrick Theriot Sr.; and five sisters, Inez Firmin, Theresa Dautreuil, Elise Jacob, Leeanna Hinton and Alex Robicheaux.

Mr. Theriot was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. He retired from J.B. Talley Co. in 1977 after 50 years of service.

Pellerin Funeral Home of St. Martinville is in charge of arrangements.

Linwood F. Mergist

ABBEVILLE - Services for Linwood "Skipper" L. Mergist, 56, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Theresa Catholic Church. interment will be in St. Paul Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 12:30 to 10 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary today at David and Hebert Funeral Home, which will reopen from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday.

A native and resident of Erath, Mr. Mergist died Friday, Jan. 23, 1998, at his residence.

David and Hebert Funeral Home of Abbeville is in charge of arrangements.

Margaret S. Guillory

ABBEVILLE - Services for Mrs. Henrielle Guillory, 72, the former Margaret Sherman, will be held at 11 a.m. today at the David and Hebert Funeral Home Chapel. interment will be in St. Paul Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 8 a.m. today until the time of services.

A native of Abbeville and resident of Erath, Mrs. Guillory died at 5:03 p.m. Friday, Jan. 23, 1998, at Lafayette General Medical Center.

David and Hebert Funeral Home of Abbeville is in charge of arrangements.

Charles J. Corley

Services for Charles James Corley, 61, will be held on Monday at 2 p.m. at Highland Baptist Church with the Rev. Lamar Carpenter and Rev. Reggie Ogea officiating. interment will be in Beau Pre Memorial Park Cemetery in Jeanerette.

Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday at David Funeral Home, which will reopen Monday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

A native of Georgetown and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Corley died at 6:48 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 22, 1998, at Lafayette General Medical Center.

He was a drilling supervisor and was a volunteer with St. Francis Diner.

He is survived by his wife, Melba L. Corley of New Iberia; four sons, Brian Keith Corley and Paul Lynn Corley, both of New Iberia, Jeffrey Scott Corley of Jena and Kevin James Corley of Doha, Qator; one brother, Nick Corley of Georgetown; four sisters, Judy Despino of Alexandria, Carolyn Dupre of Coushatta, Bobbie Nugent of Orange, Texas , and Jackie Williams of Georgetown; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, T.A. Corley; his mother, Maggie Dawson Corley; and one brother, Harold Dawson Corley.

Pallbearers will be Don Stands, John Caulking, Ray Hargrave, Fred LaBauve, Darrel Lafont, Don Leger and Richard Tauzin.

David Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.

Ferdinand A. Dupre

FRANKLIN - Services for Ferdinand Augustine Dupre, 79, will be held at 1 p.m. today at The Church of Assumption. interment will be in the Franklin Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at the church.

Mr. Dupre died Thursday, Jan. 22, 1998 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.

He is survived by his wife, Thelma "Sis" Clair LeBlanc Dupre of Franklin; four daughters, Beverly "Woogie" Dupre Concienne, Gayle Dupre Louviere and Dolores Dupre Hebert, all of Franklin, and Charlene Dupre Barrilleaux of Lafayette; three brothers, Herbert Joseph Dupre of Franklin, Lawrence Paul Dupre Sr. of Lafayette and Howard John Dupre of Albany, Ga.; three sisters, Laura LeBlanc and Ruby Dupre, both of Franklin, and Lelia Martin of Bossier City; 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; three step great-grandchildren; and one step great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ozema Lawrence Dupre and Lelia Pontiff Dupre; two brothers, Joseph Legnon and Charles Anthony Dupre; one sister, Genevieve Dupre; and one granddaughter, Stacie A. Louviere.

Ibert's Mortuary Inc. of Franklin is in charge of arrangements.
