Ethel Mae Chretien

Memorial services for Ethel Mae "T-Mae" Chretien, 53, the former Ethel Mae Jolivette, will begin at 7 p.m. Friday at St. Edward Catholic Church with the Very Rev. Thomas James, SVD, officiating.

A native of New Iberia and resident of San Jose, Calif., for 32 years, Mrs. Chretien died at 5:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13, 1998, at her residence following a brief illness.

She was employed with Foxboro ICT as a quality control supervisor.

Mrs. Chretien is survived by her mother, Leona Derouen Nelson, the former Leona D. Jolivette; two daughters, Jada L. Bryant of San Jose and Stacey L. Chretien of Oakland, Calif.; nine brothers, Arthur Jolivette Jr., Felton Jolivette, Ralph Jolivette, Bradley Jolivette, Larry Jolivette, Rodney Jolivette and Wayne Jolivette, all of New Iberia, Glenn Jolivette of Antioch, Calif., and James Jolivette of Lafayette; three sisters, Yvonne Sonnier and Ann Jolivette, both of Lafayette, and Leona Zenon of Abbeville; and one grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her father, Arthur Jolivette Sr.; and one sister, Josephine Barras.

Leola Mae S. Richard

SULPHUR - Services for Leola Mae "Lola" Seneca Richard, 64, will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church with the Rev. Donald Thomas officiating. interment will be in the Mimosa Pines Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m.-10 p.m. today with a 6 p.m. rosary at Hixson Funeral Home, which will reopen Friday morning until the time of services.

A native of New Iberia and resident of Sulphur for 43 years, Mrs. Richard died Wednesday, Jan. 21, 1998, in Lake Charles.

She was the former owner of Diane's of Sulphur Dress Shop and the past president of Superior Inc.

Mrs. Richard is survived by her husband, Ernie Richard of Sulphur; one son, Kenny Richard of Houston; two daughters, Dianne James of Grant and Lisa Richard of Sulphur; three brothers, Regis Seneca of New Iberia, Harvey Seneca and Jesse Paul Seneca Jr., both of Lafayette; one sister, Genevieve Seneca Romero of Lafayette; and three grandchildren.

The family wishes to express their love for this great lady, mother and friend. We Love You, Miss You, but will never forget you.

The Hixson Funeral Home of Sulphur is in charge of arrangements.

Earl Conner Jr.

BALDWIN - Services for Earl "Bolo" Conner Jr., 70, will begin at 7 p.m. Friday at Special Providence Baptist Church with the Rev. W.J. Otis officiating. interment will be in the church cemetery at 9 a.m. Saturday.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Friday with a 7 p.m. rosary at the church.

A resident of Four Corners, Mr. Conner died Friday, Jan. 16, 1998, at his residence.

He is survived by three stepsons, James L. Washington Jr. and Troy Conner, both of Baldwin, and Ronald Barrow of New Orleans; two daughters, Dianne C. Tauriac and Evelyn J.C. Reed, both of Jeanerette; one stepdaughter, Sandra J. Crosby of Jeanerette; three sisters, Hilda C. Moore of Sorrell, Mary Nell Jackson of Baldwin and Thelma C. Wilson of Four Corners; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three step grandchildren; one step great-grandchild; and two foster grandchildren.

Mr. Conner was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

The Otis Mortuary of Franklin is in charge of arrangements.

Earlon J. Nunez

ERATH - Services for Earlon Joseph Nunez, 48, will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at Abbeville Assembly of God with the Rev. Donald Mahan officiating. interment will be in the Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m.-10 p.m. today at David and Broussard Funeral Home, which will reopen at 8 a.m. Friday.

A native and resident of Erath, Mr. Nunez died at 3:20 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21, 1998, at his residence.

He was a member of the Mussel Loaders Club of Baton Rouge and a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served in Vietnam. Mr. Nunez was a mechanic for Fluid Crane and Construction in New Iberia for 10 years and built guitars for a hobby, which he would play with the church choir.

Mr. Nunez is survived by his wife, Christine Chapman Nunez of Erath; his parents, R.J. Nunez and Margerine Landry Nunez of Erath; one son, Frank Price of Youngsville; three brothers, Carson Nunez, Jason Nunez and Scotty Nunez, all of Erath; and two sisters, Mrs. Robert (Lanette) LeBlanc of Delcambre and Vickie Nunez of Erath.

Pallbearers will be friends and family members.

The David and Broussard Funeral Home of Erath is in charge of arrangements.

Rosa J. Bob

CHARENTON - Services for Rosa Jeanette Bob, 50, will begin at 8 p.m. Friday at Godman Methodist Church with the Rev. Idella Stevenson officiating. interment will be in the church cemetery at 11 a.m. Saturday.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday at the church.

Mrs. Bob died Friday, Jan. 16, 1998, at Franklin Foundation Hospital.

She is survived by three daughters, Nisheka R. Bob and Chantelle L. Bob, both of Baldwin and Shellita Bob of New Iberia; two sisters, Ruby L. Drexler of Glencoe and Crystal A. Barabin of Jeanerette; and one grandchild.

Mrs. Bob was preceded in death by her parents.

Glenn A. Wilfred

Services for Glenn Allen Wilfred, 48, will begin at 1 p.m. Friday at Journet and Bolden Funeral Home. interment will be in the St. Matthew Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 7:30 a.m. today at the Funeral Home.

A native and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Wilfred died at 4 a.m. Monday, Jan. 19, 1998, at Azalea Nursing Home.

He is survived by his stepfather, Alvin Butler of New Iberia; one daughter, Catherine "Tiny Boo" Prince of Galveston, Texas ; three sisters, Patricia W. Dugas and Sheryl Wilfred, both of New Iberia, and Antoinette W. Chachere of Galveston; and three grandchildren.

Mr. Wilfred was preceded in death by her mother, Florita Jacquet Wilfred; and two brothers, Randolph Jacquet and Carroll Joseph Wilfred Sr.

Pallbearers will be members of the family.

The Journet and Bolden Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.

Effie F. Fabre

Services for Mrs. Edwin J. Fabre, 78, the former Effie Fremin, will begin at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church with the Rev. Albert Boumans officiating. Entombment will be in the church mausoleum.

Visitation will be from 4-9 p.m. today with a 6:30 p.m. rosary at David Funeral Home, which will reopen at 8 a.m. Friday.

A native of Iberia Parish and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Fabre died at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21, 1998, at Dauterive Hospital.

She was a housewife.

Mrs. Fabre is survived by two daughters, Margaret Fabre Derouen of New Iberia and Barbara Fabre Lopez of Lafayette; two sisters, Mavely Fremin Frederick of Port Lavacas, Texas and Shirley Fremin McDonald of Richmond, Calif.; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin J. Fabre; her parents, Laureal Fremin and Olita Comeaux Fremin; and one daughter, Helen Fabre Vitter.

The David Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.

Edward Jackson

FOUR CORNERS - Services for Edward Jackson , 70, will begin at 12 p.m. Saturday, at Israelite Divide Spiritual Church of Christ No. 2 with the Bishop Jules Anderson Jr. officiating. interment will be in the Sorrell Community Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. at the church.

A native and resident of Four Corners, Mr. Jackson died Thursday, Jan. 15, 1998, at Medical Center of Southwest Louisiana .

He is survived by a devoted friend, Clementine Ayro of Four Corners; one daughter, Christine A. Defils of Four Corners; one foster daughter, Vickie Green of New Iberia; two grandchildren; and one step grandchild.

The Jones Funeral Home of Franklin is in charge of arrangements.

Ernest Johnson

Services for Ernest "Shanoo" Johnson will begin at 8 p.m. today at Cottrell Chapel CME Church with the Rev. Ronald Paillet officiating. interment will be in the St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville at 11 a.m. Saturday.

Visitation will be from 4-10 p.m. today at the church, which will reopen at 7 a.m. Saturday.

A resident of New Iberia, Mr. Johnson died at 11:45 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, 1998, at Dauterive Hospital following a brief illness.

He was a member and former deacon of Cottrell Chapel CME Church.

Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife, Bertha Pierre Johnson of New Iberia; one son, Alton Ledet of Breaux Bridge; four daughters, Anna Mae Johnson , Margaret Johnson , Rose Mary Pierre and Lovina Sylvester, all of Breaux Bridge; one sister, Mathilda Jones of New Iberia; 43 grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren; a host of great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Johnson and Mary Johnson ; two daughters, Clarise Provost and Laura Babin; two brothers, Octave Johnson and Junius Benjamin; four sisters, Hilda Decuir, Sarah Solomon, Lillian Johnson and Lovenia J. George; and three grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Wallace Williams, Shelton Jones, Clifton Sylvester, Robert Sylvester, Wilbert Sylvester and Joseph Sylvester.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Sylvester, Ernest Sylvester, Lee Boy Sylvester, Phillip Babin and Junius George Sr.

The Fletcher Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.
