FERGUSON
LAPLACE - William Ferguson, 82, a native of New Orleans and a resident of LaPlace for two years, died April 25, 1999. He was the husband by first marriage of the late Doris Ferguson and by second marriage of the late Denise Ferguson. He was father of Bill Ferguson and step-father of Coral Wimberly.

He was also the son of the late Joseph and Minnette Ferguson and brother of the late Joseph Ferguson.

He is also survived by four grandchildren and three step-grandchildren.

He was an Army Air Force veteran of World War II and earned the Purple Heart. He was a former vice president of Bellows Electric Signs, vice president of Industrial Signs of New Orleans and chairman of the Tri-Traders Commission in Washington D.C. Services are today at 10 a.m. at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, LaPlace, with interment at Lake Lawn Cemetery, New Orleans. Visitation starts at 8 a.m.

KELLER
VACHERIE - Alvin "Metoe" Keller, 59, a native and resident of Vacherie, died April 24, 1999. He was the son of the late Noel and Lubertha James Kellerand brother of Rosalie Joseph, Mary "Lubertha" Allen, Elix, Louis and Gufielle Keller and the late Noelle Becnel, Loretta Gros, Melvina Jackson , Pauline Dumas, Armond Bernard and Johnny Keller.

Services are today at 11 a.m. at Second Baptist Church, Vacherie, with interment at the church cemetery. Visitation starts at 8:30 a.m.

LAURENT
GRETNA - Betty Laurent, 58, a native of Gretna and a resident of St. Charles Parish for two years, died April 22, 1999. She was the mother of Lisa Berthelot, Annette Couch, Linda Tillis and Robert Guillot.

She was the daughter of Nora Laurent and the sister of Audrey Orgeron, Joyce Shafer, Jacqueline Hotard, Paullette McGintey, Beverly Lafont and Richard, Paul and David Laurent.

She is also survived by eight grandchildren.

Graveside services are today at 10 a.m. at Westlawn Memorial Park, Gretna.

PERILLOUX
LAPLACE - Eva Rousselle Perilloux, 89, a native of Lucy and a resident of LaPlace for 73 years, died April 24, 1999. She was the wife of the late Cleveland Perilloux and mother of Joyce Millet, Cynthia Cambre and Cleveland Jr., Allen and the late G. Wayne Perilloux. She was also the daughter of the late Ignace and Ernestine Rousselle and sister of the late Annette Deslattes, Leonie Madere and Adam, Pheophile, Ben and Leona Rousselle.

She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.

Services were held April 27 in the chapel of Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, LaPlace, with interment at St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve.

SCOTT
CONVENT - Elviesha Marie "Bundy" Scott, 15, a native and resident of Convent, died April 19, 1999. She was the daughter of Lloyd Dupard and Sandra Scott and sister of Tamara Scott.

She was also the grandchild of Elvies and Marshall Scott Jr. and Felton Dupard Sr. and great-grandchild of Julie Scott. Services were held April 24 at Young Pilgrim Baptist Church, Convent, with interment at St. Michael Cemetery, Convent.

HARRY

Ernest Joseph "Babe Ruth" Harry, 75, a native and resident of Vacherie, died April 18, 1999. He was the husband of the late Rose Mary Jessie Harry, Joyce Saul and Lillie Mae VanBuren. He was the father of Raymond, Elston, Stephen, Paul, Clarence, Eddie and Maude Harry, Catherine Lacey, Leslie Keller and Kathleen Rodrigue.

He was the son of the late Bienvenue and Mary Keller Harry and the brother of Amie Chopin, Esther Williams, Eve and Anita Batiste, Milton, Jilvain and Herbert Harry and the late Jules Sr., Alfred and Raymond Harry. He is survived by 16 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren.

Services were April 23 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, Vacherie, with interment at the church cemetery.

HYMEL

Lydia Plaisance Hymel, 95, a native of Belle Rose and resident of Garyville for the past 80 years, died April 21, 1999. She was the wife of the late Arthur Hymel and the mother of Clyde, Kermit, Robert, Kenneth, Timothy and Michael Hymel, Gertrude Jacob, Betty Ramagos, Hazel Michel, Elmire Vicknair, Veronica Aucoin, Cynthia Shaubhut and Linda Haydel.

She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Aurelia Romero Plaisance and sister of the late Albert, Anthony and Samuel Plaisance, Alida Frederic, Ida Solar and Inez Grobe.

She is survived by 53 grandchildren, 115 great-grandchildren and 19 great-great-grandchildren.

Services were April 23 at St. Hubert Catholic Church, Garyville, with interment at St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve.

JUDD

Leonard Sylvester Judd, 66, a native of New Orleans and resident of St. Rose, died April 20, 1999. He was the husband of Ann Eskew Judd and the father of Lynn Badeaux, Lora Murray, Jan Duncan, Jeri Davis and Lenny, Mark, Dwayne, Jeffrey and Justin Judd.

He was the son of the late Irene Trayal and William Judd and brother of Willie and Joe Judd, Mary Cooper, Peggy Mailton, Hazel and Carol Judd, Karla Lewis and the late Tommy Judd.

He is survived by 12 granchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Services were April 21 at Kenner Funeral Home of L.A. Muhleisen & Son,Kenner, with interment at Jefferson Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

JOHNSON

Patricia Washington Johnson , 47, a native of St. Rose and resident of LaPlace, died April 19, 1999. She was the wife of William Johnson and mother ofJonika Washington and the late Alfred Brown Jr. and the stepmother of Derrick Allen.

She was the daughter of the late Herbert and Nellie Genevia Washington and the sister of Shirley Armstrong, Ernestine Young, Herbert Jr., Lionel Sr., Leona, Ethel, Arthur, Mary Alice, Herman, Robert and Barry Washinton and the late Genevieve Washington .

She is survived by one grandchild.

Services were April 23 at Oakland Baptist Church, Kenner, with interment at St. Rose Cemetery, St. Rose.

MASON

Calvin Charles Mason, 54, a native of Reserve and resident of St. Rose, died April 19, 1999. He was the son of the late Joseph and Martha Mason and the brother of Joseph Jr., Alvin, Jason, Cleophras and Leroy Mason Sr., Dorothy Robertson, Naomi Davis, Betty Devare and Vernessa Mitchell.

Services were April 24 at Zion Travelers Baptist Chruch, with interment in the church cemetery.

POIRIER

Rene' Louis Poirier Jr., 82, a native and former longtime resident of St. James and resident of Donaldsonville, died April 21, 1999. He was the husband of late Dolores Barrios Poirier and the father of Donna Glaviana, Annalyn Giroir and Rene III, Byron and Stephen Poirier.

He was the son of Rene' Sr. and Irma Guidry Poirier and brother of Mabel Smith, Clemence Barrios, Lois Hymel and the late Frances Poirier.

He is survived by 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Services were April 24 at St. James Catholic Church, St. James, with interment at the church cemetery.
