Floyd Joseph Rabassa Jr., 77, a native of Franklin and resident of Abbeville, died Monday.
He is survived by his wife, Genevieve (Genny) Dugas Rabassa of Abbeville; two sons, Floyd J. Rabassa III and his wife, Diane Fruge Rabassa, of Katy, Texas , and Darryl James Rabassa and his wife, Leah Faulk Rabassa of Erath; one daughter, Suzanne Rabassa Pellerin and her husband, Glynn, of Centerville; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, his mother, one daughter, one granddaughter, one grandson and one great-grandson.
Rabassa chose to donate his body to science.
Memorial services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Abbeville, the Rev. Chester Arceneaux officiating.

Catherine Ellen Gueldner Grow, 89, a native of New Orleans, past resident of Bayou Vista since 1952 and a recent resident of the Patterson Healthcare Center, died Wednesday, July 21, 2004, at 9:13 p.m. at the Patterson Healthcare Center.
She is survived by her son, Edward Grow and his wife, Betty, both of Calumet; three grandchildren, Jimmie Grow of Charenton, Robert Grow of Jeanerette and Paula Blakeman of Bayou Vista; 7 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Grow was preceded in death by husband, Charles Peter Grow; her father, Paul Otto Gueldner; her mother, Ceasire Jolly Gueldner; three brothers; three sisters; and one great-grandson, Chris Grow.
Visitation will be Friday, July 22, 2004, at Ibert’s Mortuary from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. The Rev. Bennie Rebosura will conduct the funeral service at Ibert’s Mortuary on Friday at 10 a.m. interment will follow in the Berwick Cemetery.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert’s Mortuary Inc. in Patterson.

Horace Robinson Jr., 53, a native and resident of Morgan City, died Friday at 4:40 a.m. at Teche Regional Medical Center in Morgan City.
Visitation will be Thursday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Jones Funeral Home chapel.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. interment will be in the Morgan City Cemetery.
He is survived by one daughter, Alexis Robinson of Morgan City; two brothers, Ronald Robinson of Morgan City and Johnel Robinson of New Orleans; and one sister, Carol Jean Robinson-Lallande of Morgan City.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son.
Jones Funeral Home in Morgan City is in charge of arrangements.

Ashton Ward Jr., 64, a native of Ashton and resident of New Iberia, died Aug. 29 at Dauterive Hospital in New Iberia.
Visitation will be Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Jones Funeral Home chapel in Franklin.
Funeral services will be Friday at 1 p.m. in the Jones chapel with burial in the Franklin Cemetery.
He is survived by two daughters, Mathilda Ward of New Iberia and Rachael Ward of Baldwin; a sister, Rena Jackson of Ashton; and four grandchildren.
Jones Funeral Home in Franklin is in charge of arrangements.

James “Jimmie” Edward Wynn Jr., 67, was born on Aug. 11, 1937, in Ida. He Passed away Tuesday at Teche Regional Medical Center in Morgan City.
He is survived by his wife, JoAnn Guarisco Wynn of Morgan City; two sons, Leonard “Lennie” James Wynn of Sanford, Fla., and John Robert “Rob” Wynn of Cleveland, Ohio; and three sisters, Wanda Feske of Augusta, Ga., Betty Shoemaker of Lafayette, and Gerrie Clark of Dumsmire, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Wynn was retired and the owner and operator of The Clothing Company of Morgan City.
Wynn’s wishes were to be cremated. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in the name of James Wynn.
Hargrave Funeral Home in Morgan City has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Alton Elvin Mizell, 62, of Morgan City died the morning of Sept. 12, 2004, at 3:30 a.m.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Sylvia Jean; sons, Alton Wayne and his wife Cindy, Darren, and Eric and his wife Rebecca; a daughter, Tamatha and her husband Michael; grandchildren Alton Moe and Jennifer; step-grandson Michael (Ty) and his wife Debra; step-great-grandchildren Spencer and Amanda; one sister, Joyce, and her husband Ed; two sisters-in-law, Pat and Marlene; and three brothers-in-law. He was preceded by his parents, a brother and a sister.
Alton enjoyed many things in his life, some of which included fishing, hunting and laughter with family and friends. He was a very special man with a big heart who was willing to help anyone who needed him. Swiftship’s was Alton’s place of employment for 35 years. He cared for his co-workers as he would his family and he will be missed greatly by all.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Bayou Region Hospice, 195 Corporate Dr., Houma, LA 70364.
A remembrance service will be held at Hargrave Funeral Home in Morgan City on Saturday evening, Sept. 18, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Arthur Singleton Sr., 87, a native of Amelia and resident of Morgan City, died Sunday at 7:25 p.m. at Teche Regional Medical Center in Morgan City following a long illness.
He served as a member of the U.S. Naval Service.
Visitation will be Thursday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Church of God of Prophecy in Patterson.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the church with burial in the Morgan City Cemetery.
He is survived by four sons, Ernest Singleton and Lloyd Singleton, both of Morgan City, and Russell Singleton and Arthur Singleton, both of Gibson; one brother, Herbert Singleton of Morgan City; and two sisters, Martha Joseph of Thibodaux and Dorothy Bolden of Morgan City; 35 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Jones Funeral Home in Morgan City is in charge of arrangements.

Audra “Rene” Lorene May Price, 73, a native of Talpa, Texas , and resident of Bayou Vista, died Sunday, Sept. 19, 2004, at Teche Regional Medical Center in Morgan City.
She was a Christian by faith. She was a member of the St. Mary Parish AARP and had spent 14 years with the Girl Scouts of America, serving on the local level and as service unit chairman on the district level.
Rene’s life was one of service above self. She had a special gift of caring for people, which started at a young age, taking care of her parents after their health began to fail.
She loved people and treasured the time spent with special friends and family. Her passion for service was reflected in that she took meals to those in need and provided transportation to take people to and from the hospital and doctor visits.
She had a wonderful sense of humor and greeted everyone with a smile. She enjoyed bowling, camping, playing cards and sitting down with a good book. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and very special friend to many, and will be sadly missed.
She was the daughter of the late Lee May and the late Annie Close May.
She is survived by one daughter, Frances Leanne Price of Bayou Vista; one son, Michael O. Price and his wife, Denise, of Bayou Vista; one daughter-in-law, Rebecca L. Price of Berwick; two grandchildren, Shane Price and Chelsey Price; one nephew, Harlan Martin; and seven great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of over 40 years, Franklin Price; three brothers, Lee Roy May, Morgan Smith May and Chester Ray May; and one sister, Clara Belle Martin.
The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 23, 2004. Memorial services will be Thursday at 6 p.m. at Twin City Funeral Home in Morgan City with Leroy Head officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society.

ADAM JOSEPH FANGUE
July 14, 1927 – Sept. 22, 2004
Adam Joseph Fangue, 77, a native of Avoca Island and a longtime resident of Morgan City, died Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2004, at Teche Regional Medical Center in Morgan City.
He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, an honorary member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1373 and a member of the Southern Atchafalaya Sportsman Club.
Adam loved life and the pleasures of life. He loved the outdoors, which was evident by his passion for hunting, fishing, crabbing and shrimping. He loved to work in his garden and took special pride in his tomatoes, cucumbers, bell peppers and snap beans.
He was well known for his unique ability to build pirogues and bateaus. His woodworking abilities did not stop there. He built his own home and replica model boats for his grandchildren. Above all the pleasures of life, nothing brought a twinkle to his eyes like the special times he would spend with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He always will be remembered as a man of few words that brought joy to so many hearts. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was the son of the late Paul Fangue and the late Clemence Gros Fangue.
He is survived by his two daughters, Lydia Gorsha and her husband, John R. Gorsha Sr., of Morgan City and Juanita Berard and her husband, Lindon Jr., both of Morgan City; one son, Doug Fangue and his wife, Suzan, of Patterson; two sisters, Edna Michel of Morgan City and Dianne Gorsha and her husband, Roger, of Austin, Texas ; seven grandchildren, John R. Gorsha Jr., Jada Aloisio, Linette Martin, Lititia Stanberry, Emily Fangue, Adam Fangue and Sarah Fangue; and seven great-grandchildren, Aerial Gorsha, Jamie Falgout, Patrick Falgout, James Gregory, Ryan Martin, McKenna Aloisio and Landon Gregory.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife of over 56 years, Pearl Olivier Fangue; two brothers, Delward Fangue and Raymond Fangue; one sister, Dot Rochel; and one granddaughter, Dawn Gorsha.
Pallbearers to serve will be Ronnie Martin, Sean Stanberry, Tre’ Aloisio, Lindon Berard Jr., Raymond Michel and John R. Gorsha Jr.
Honorary pallbearers will be Adam Paul Fangue, Jamie Falgout, Patrick Falgout, Ryan Martin, James Gregory and Landon Gregory.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today, Sept. 23, 2004, with a rosary to be held at 7 p.m., led by Knights of Columbus Council 1373 members. Visitation will resume Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. at Twin City Funeral Home in Morgan City.
A mass of Christian burial will be held at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Morgan City at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 24, 2004, with Father Josh Rodrigue officiating. interment will be at the Morgan City Cemetery.
