Roland Joseph Acosta, 81, a resident of Stephensville born to the late Joseph and Carmeliett Acosta in Napoleonville on April 28, 1923, Passed away Saturday, Aug. 21, 2004, at Teche Regional Medical Center in Morgan City.
Visitation will be observed today at Hargrave Funeral Home in Morgan City from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and will resume Tuesday at the funeral home from 8 a.m. until dismissal time at 10:30 a.m.
Funeral services will be held at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Morgan City at 11 a.m. Tuesday with interment to follow in St. Ann’s Cemetery in Napoleonville.
Mr. Acosta is survived by his son, Bobby Paul Acosta and his wife, Sarah, of Stephensville; his grandchildren, Samantha Landry and her husband, Gibson Landry, of Pierre Part, Bobbie Acosta and her fiancé, Roderick Prestenbach, of Stephensville, and Calvin Acosta of Stephensville.
He also is survived by his great-grandchildren, Tyler Landry of Stephensville, Roderick Prestenbach Jr. and another great-grandchild on the way.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marcella Delaune Acosta; his son, Calvin Acosta; three brothers; and four sisters.
Hargrave Funeral Home in Morgan City has been entrusted with Mr. Acosta’s arrangements.

Ernest T. Russell, 104, a resident of Morgan City, born May 25, 1900, in Brookhaven, Miss., Passed away Sunday, Aug. 15, 2004.
Visitation will be observed Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2004, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Hargrave Funeral Home in Morgan City.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with interment to follow in the Morgan City Cemetery.
He is survived by his son, Jack Russell of Morgan City; his two daughters, Barbara Russell of Morgan City and Vivian Spinella of Fort Worth, Texas ; his sister, Alpha Perrin of Ponchatoula; eight grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Annie Spangler Russell; two brothers, five sisters, one daughter and one grandson.
Hargrave Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Ashton Ward Jr., 64, a native of Ashton and resident of New Iberia, died Aug. 29 at Dauterive Hospital in New Iberia.
Visitation will be Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Jones Funeral Home chapel in Franklin.
Funeral services will be Friday at 1 p.m. in the Jones chapel with burial in the Franklin Cemetery.
He is survived by two daughters, Mathilda Ward of New Iberia and Rachael Ward of Baldwin; a sister, Rena Jackson of Ashton; and four grandchildren.
Jones Funeral Home in Franklin is in charge of arrangements.

Francis Dirk LeBlanc , 21, a lifelong resident of Morgan City born May 15, 1983, sadly Passed away Aug. 30, 2004, in Morgan City.
Francis was a graduate of Morgan City High School, Class of 2001. He was a gifted artist and avid reader. Francis was a skateboard enthusiast who was accomplished in many intricate skateboarding tricks.
He was also very talented in repairing electronics. Francis loved his family and poured his energy into that which he loved. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Francis was the child of Patrick and Penny LeBlanc of Morgan City.
He is survived by his mother, Carla Wilkinson of Pennsylvania ; his sister, Deanna LeBlanc of Morgan City; his brother, Patrick LeBlanc II of Morgan City; his stepbrother, Johnathon Wilkinson of Morgan City; his half-brother, Jeffery Wilkinson of Pennsylvania ; and his stepbrother, Chris Wilkinson of Pennsylvania .
He also is survived by his paternal grandparents, William and Jimmie Etta LeBlanc of Morgan City; and by his maternal grandparents, Edward “Smokey” and Margaret Floyd of Bayou Vista.
Visitation will be observed Friday, Sept. 3, 2004, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m. at Hargrave Funeral Home in Morgan City.
Visitation will resume Saturday, Sept. 4, 2004, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Hargrave Funeral Home.
Religious services will be held in the funeral home chapel at 11 a.m. Saturday, conducted by Father Robert Roger.
Francis will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery.

George Louis Rockenbaugh Jr., 60, Passed away peacefully Wednesday August 25, 2004 in Temple, Texas , after a valiant battle with cancer. He lived his life on his terms, and it was a full and successful life that touched the lives of many others. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
A native of Patterson, he was preceded in death by his parents, George Louis Rockenbaugh Sr. and Lorine DuBois Rockenbaugh as well as a son, George Louis III.
George graduated from Patterson High School after which he began a 20-year career in the U.S. Army. Upon retirement from the military, he began a second career as a systems analyst for the Daughters of Charity working in Grand Prairie, Texas . In 1999, he continued his career working for Siemens- White Group in Temple, Texas , until he became ill last year.
He is survived by his four children, Philip of Gretna, Michael and his wife Amorette of El Paso, Texas , Greg and his wife Miki of Bayou Vista, and Dawn Rockenbaugh of Chackbay; one brother, Ronald of Patterson; three sisters, Rose Gough and her husband, Gary, of Lafayette, Evelyn Estay and her husband, Ron, of Patterson, and Pat Lirette and her husband, Mike, of Schriever. Seven grandchildren also survive him: Logan, Seth, Bristol, Shelby, Justin, Colin and Kelcie.
Respecting his wishes, he was cremated. Graveside services and interment in the St. Bridget Catholic Church columbarium will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 4, 2004, in Schriever, LA.
The family would like to extend their sincere thanks and appreciation to those closest to George who provided him with personal care and attention.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions may be made in his name to The Daughters of Charity, 1111 W N Carrier Pkwy, Grand Prairie, TX 75050 or Odyssey Health Care, 20140 SW HK Dodgen Loop, Suite 201, Temple, TX 76504.

Clarence Adam Gros Jr., 44, a native of Napoleonville and resident of Stephensville, died Saturday, July 24, 2004, in Stephensville.
He was a member of St. Rosalie Chapel in Stephensville.
He enjoyed life to the fullest with his family and friends. He loved fishing and hunting.
He was employed at Allison Marine as a shipyard foreman. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was the son of the late Clarence Adam Gros Sr. and the late Rose Anna Verrett Gros.
He is survived by his fiancée, Cherie Aucoin, of Stephensville; three sons, Blake Adam Gros, Trent Anthony Gros and Anthony Paul Gros, all of Belle River; two stepsons, Michael Palmature and Tyler Palmature, both of Stephensville; one stepdaughter, Kayla Palmature of Stephensville; three brothers, Robert Gros and Percell Gros, both of Bayou Vista, and Everette “Cisco” Gros of Belle River; and four sisters, Trudy Sanford and Juliette McClendon, both of Morgan City, and Vickie Taylor and Norma Gros, both of Bayou Vista.
The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 27, 2004, at Twin City Funeral Home in Morgan City.
Funeral services will begin Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Morgan City Cemetery.

Lou Anna Blanc Faulk, 60, a native of Abbeville and resident of Bayou Vista since 1964, died at 4:55 p.m. on Friday, July 23, 2004, at Teche Regional Medical Center in Morgan City.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years of marriage, Larry Thomas Faulk of Bayou Vista; her mother, Marie Roch Blanc of Kaplan; one daughter, Anna Marie Head and her husband, the Rev. Brian Head, both of Bayou Vista; three sons, Lydell Thomas Faulk and his wife, Melisa, both of Patterson, Troy Anthony Faulk and his wife, Dawn, both of Bayou Vista, and Scott Anthony Faulk of Bayou Vista; two brothers, Howard Blanc Jr. of Bayou Vista and Raymond Blanc of Lafayette; two sisters, Beverly Mire of Kaplan and Linda Lemaire of Scott; and six grandchildren, Ashley Faulk, Truman Faulk, Jonathan Faulk, Braxton Head, Davin Faulk and Lacie Faulk.
Mrs. Faulk was preceded in death by her father, Howard Blanc Sr., and one brother, Gerald Blanc.
Visitation was Saturday and Sunday at Ibert’s Mortuary. The Rev. Brian Head conducted funeral services at Ibert’s Sunday afternoon. interment was at Ibert’s Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Faulk was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of The Church of God of Prophecy in Bayou Vista and was truly a walking testimony of the faithfulness of God. She was also proud to be a team captain of The American Cancer Relay for Life.
Arrangements were entrusted to Ibert’s Mortuary Inc. in Patterson.

Gerald “June” Joseph Crouch Jr., 44, a native and resident of Morgan City, died Friday, July 23, 2004, in Morgan City.
He was a rigger for Moncla.
He is survived by his wife, Connie Tabor Crouch; his parents, Gerald Joseph Crouch Sr. and Barbara Ida Billiot Crouch; his son, Corey Phelps, and his fiancée, Sadie Granier of Thibodaux; three daughters, Kristi Gaspard, Brittany Crouch and April Crouch, all of Morgan City; two brothers, Keith T. Crouch and Travis Crouch, both of Morgan City; one sister, Julia Crouch Blaylock and her husband, Joseph “Jody” S. Blaylock Jr. of New Orleans; one grandchild, Dylan Barnett; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Tiffany Crouch.
Visitation will be Tuesday, July 27, 2004, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Twin City Funeral Home in Morgan City. Visitation will resume Wednesday, July 28, 2004, at 8:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Morgan City.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the church. interment will be in the Morgan City Cemetery.

Mrs. Shirley Kidder Cole, 68, a native of Arnaudville and resident of Centerville since 1958, died Friday, July 23, 2004, at Lafayette General Medical Center following a short illness.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years of marriage, O.J. Cole of Centerville; three sons, Terry Cole and his wife, Cindy, both of Stephensville, Ronnie Cole of Centerville, and Kenny Cole and his wife, Wendy, both of Baton Rouge; three granddaughters, Gina Cole of Gulf Breeze, Fla., and Taylor Cole and Victoria Cole, both of Baton Rouge; one brother, Donald Kidder of Charenton; and one sister, Debbie Kidder of Broussard.
Mrs. Cole was preceded in death by her father, Aurelius Kidder; her mother, Ida Stelly Kidder; one sister, Betsy Hale; and one brother, Louis Kidder.
Visitation was held today at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Centerville. A Mass of Christian Burial was held this afternoon at St. Joseph Church with Father Kenneth Mayne officiating.
interment was in the St. Joseph Cemetery in Centerville.
Pallbearers were Randy Hale, Ricky Hale, Todd Kidder, Seth Kidder, Grady Kidder, Todd Cole and Corey Cole.
Arrangements were entrusted to Ibert’s Mortuary Inc. in Franklin (337-828-5426).

Virginia Thomas, 62, a native and resident of Patterson, died Nov. 15 at 4 p.m. at Terrebonne General Medical Center in Houma.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at New Salem Baptist Church in Patterson.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the church. Burial will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Home Industrial Cemetery in Patterson.
She is survived by her husband, Russell Thomas of Patterson; four sons, Russell Thomas Jr. of South Rivers, N.J., Gerald J. Thomas of Patterson, George A. Thomas of Gray, and Edward D. Thomas of Bayou Vista; three daughters, Kathy M. Green of Patterson, Angela D. Griffin of Cameron, N.C., and Anita L. Dewey of Zachary; three brothers, Leonard Mensman of Morgan City, and Bailey Richard and Mike Hamilton, both of Patterson; one sister, Lillie Mae Smith of Patterson; one godchild and 15 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Otis Mortuary in Franklin is in charge of the arrangements.
